Enemies of Elina Bystritskaya: the complex character and conflict of the legendary star of “Quiet Don”

Biography and personal life

The future theater and film star Elena Nikolaeva was born in Moscow.
There is a lot of conflicting information about her childhood, but in her interviews the girl herself clearly says that her family was creative. Elena’s mother had her own dance group called “Maslenitsa”, and her father helped her in this matter and was the director of the ensemble. Already at the age of five, the girl was sent to the rhythmic gymnastics section, where she showed good results. True, Elena herself remembers that the classes scared her - daily stretching brought hellish pain. Plus, all the girls were forced to go on a strict diet, which simply outraged the grandmother of the future star. It was she who eventually took her granddaughter from the section.

But the parents did not lose hope of raising their daughter to be a star and sent her to the ballet academy. Here Elena felt in her place, the art of classical dance fascinated her, at some point the girl seriously set her sights on becoming the new Anna Pavlova.

The artistic and undoubtedly talented Nikolaeva was predicted to have a great future, and that is why at the age of 11 she became a student at the Studio School at the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseev.

Elena was able to show herself to the audience in the song and dance ensemble “Sky of Russia”, created in the Moscow Air Force and Air Defense District.

Biography

Natalia's parents have nothing to do with art. Mom, a chemist-biologist by training, is involved in real estate. Dad is a design engineer by profession.

“But my mother’s cousin Oleg Melenevsky played on the stage of the Crimean Russian Drama Theater. He passed away in the prime of his talent, I hope the Crimeans remember him...

I really dreamed about cinema since childhood. But she wasn’t a beauty. In the first grade, I, the fattest girl, played a woodcutter at a matinee, while my classmates were squirrels, bunnies, and snowflakes. A tall, big woman walked in front of the boys with an ax and shouted intimidatingly: “I am a woodcutter!” Seeing this, my mother was horrified and sent me to the children's fashion theater, where I was received with open arms. I started dancing, walking beautifully, acting, lost weight, and was transformed,” recalls the actress.

At the age of eight, Natasha began attending drama school. In addition, the girl drew well, participated in beauty contests and worked as a model.

Theater

But having received her matriculation certificate, Nikolaeva, unexpectedly for everyone, decided to push herself into acting and, together with her friend, went to take exams at the Moscow Art Theater School.

In the first minutes, it seemed to the girl that everything was going great - after listening to Zoshchenko’s prose performed by her, Elena was immediately transferred to the third round ! But then the luck ran out, Konstantin Raikin considered that it was too early for the girl to study to be an actress and weeded her out.

Throughout the next year, Nikolaeva regularly attended preparatory courses at the Moscow Art Theater, diligently listened to the teachers and completed all their assignments. The girl’s efforts were not in vain - in 2002 she became a student at GITIS.

The master of the course for the future star was Oleg Lvovich Kudryashov, a recognized theater director and winner of the Stanislavsky Prize. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Elena Nikolaeva remembers her student years very fondly. Her group turned out to be strong, but at the same time very friendly. Kudryashov tried to unite the guys as much as possible and teach them how to interact with each other.

The guys consider themselves a family that will always support and help each other. Many of Kudryashov’s graduates, including Nikolaev, work at the Theater of Nations under the direction of Evgeny Mironov. In addition, the guys organized a musical art group “S.A.M.” (Commonwealth of Actors and Musicians).

It’s interesting that Elena came to the Theater of Nations in 2006 by accident - she and her fellow students staged the play “The Swedish Match,” which caught the eye of Mironov. He appreciated the skill of the beginning actors and invited them to join him. In addition to this performance, Elena played on the stage of the Theater of Nations in the production of “The Lonely West”.

Many men were in love with this beautiful actress, and women were simply jealous. However, attractive appearance and talent are not at all a guarantee of female happiness.

Her first love came to her quite late. Elina was beautiful, but people feared her for her stern disposition and inaccessibility. She noticed the young actor Kirill Lavrov herself. The romance was bright and stormy, the couple was already preparing for the wedding. One day the Kirill Theater went on tour. Elina with a bouquet went to the station to see off the groom, she was in a hurry, afraid of being late. Stepping onto the platform, she saw Lavrov: he was standing next to a laughing pretty girl, enthusiastically telling her something. Kirill saw Elina, but she did not come up - she turned around and walked away, throwing the bouquet into the trash can. There was a glimmer of hope in her soul that her beloved would run after her and say that he only needed her. Kirill did not catch up. For many years she could not forgive the betrayal.

But time heals. Once at a film festival, he came up, kissed her hand, and asked for forgiveness. Bystritskaya smiled and said that she had long forgotten everything. Her main acting success was the role of Aksinya in “Quiet Don”. But what a lot of work it took her to get and play it. Director Sergei Gerasimov did not want to take Elina, but Mikhail Sholokhov himself insisted on her candidacy. I arrived for the audition and immediately pointed to Bystritskaya: “Here is Aksinya!” Gerasimov resigned himself.

In the 1960-1970s, Elina Bystritskaya was considered the most stylish actress in the USSR. She wore expensive furs and luxurious dresses; her wardrobe included all the latest fashions. She might casually mention a visit to a personal cosmetologist or problems with the housekeeper. Everyone in the theater was sure that Elina was married to someone from the very top. There were various rumors: that this was some kind of close associate of the Secretary General, a high-ranking general, or even a minister.

Nikolai Kuzminsky, indeed, was considered an influential person, but he was far from the position of minister. He headed the translation department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and often went on business trips abroad - hence his wife’s unusual outfits. And yet, the life of the spouses was not as luxurious as Bystritskaya presented. She wanted to be known as a goddess, a celestial being.

The marriage of Bystritskaya and Kuzminsky lasted 27 years and ended in divorce. “My husband was an interesting person. How much he remembered, how much he knew! He loved history. But he loved women most of all. Too much. It was impossible to bear,” the actress admitted. They had no children: Bystritskaya suffered from poor health during the war. After the divorce, she was left alone, but she always insisted that it didn’t bother her: it’s much worse to live with someone you don’t love.

Movie

Actress Elena Nikolaeva made her film debut during her years of study - in 2003 she appeared in the comedy “The History of the Spring Conscription.” The role then was episodic and did not bring the girl recognition. Therefore, the next time Nikolaeva appeared in a movie was only in 2007, when Elena became a certified actress. But the breakthrough turned out to be impressive - the future star took part in five projects at once, namely films and TV series:

  • "Tumbler";
  • "House on the Embankment";
  • “Help service;
  • "The Reluctant Millionaire"
  • "With a pen and a sword."

But the real breakthrough for the actress was her work in the 2008 drama “Girl”. Here Elena Nikolaeva not only played a key role, but also performed the songs that her heroine sang according to the script. Among other things, in the same season the TV series “Cossacks-Robbers”, “I’ll Be Back” and “Loving Do Not Renounce...” with the participation of the actress were released.

In 2009, Elena played the main roles in the thriller “Phonogram of Passion” and the serial drama “Scythian Gold”. In all subsequent years, Nikolaeva worked tirelessly in the field of cinema, participating in two or more projects per season.

Most of the actress's works are well received by the audience. For example, in 2012 she brilliantly played in the series “Freud’s Method” and “While the Fern Blooms”, in 2014 in “Mannequin”, and in 2015 she became one of the main characters in the acclaimed serial comedy Mommies. The actress has more than twenty-five films to her credit, the last of which dates back to 2017. This is a short film by Kim Belov “Akado”.

Critics also do not ignore Elena Nikolaeva’s performance. So in 2008, at the II International Film Festival named after Andrei Tarkovsky “Mirror”, the actress received a special prize for the film “Girl”.

In 2010 she won the Audience Award at the XVIII International Festival of Film Actors “Constellation-2010”.

Farewell forever

When Kirill went on tour with the theater, Elina came to accompany him to the train with a huge bouquet of flowers. Here she saw him tenderly saying goodbye to Valentina. Shouting in Lavrov’s face: “It’s all over between us!”, the girl threw the flowers into the trash bin and proudly walked away.

Later, Elina Avraamovna told her close friend, translator Rogneda Yatsenko, that she was expecting an apology and a plea for forgiveness from Lavrov. But he had no intention of running after her, but calmly boarded the train. Lavrov and Nikolaeva got married and lived together all their lives. According to Yatsenko, from the very beginning the young people, as they say, did not get along in character. Kirill always dreamed of family warmth and comfort, while Elina always had a career in the first place.

Personal life

Elena Nikolaeva makes no secret about her personal life, and therefore fans know that she is married. She met her future husband Konstantin Parfenov on a train in 2002. The romance began quickly, and the couple did not put off the wedding.

In 2009, Elena and Konstantin had their first child, Artemy, and in 2012, the family was replenished with a daughter, Veronica. In many interviews, Nikolaeva notes that despite her love for her profession, her family and children will always come first.

First feeling

Elina first fell in love in the fifties. Actor Kirill Lavrov became her chosen one. The girl was still a student, and he was already shining on the theater stage. It was decided to get married when Elina graduated from theater.

To meet the bride's parents, the groom's mother went to Vilnius. We agreed to get married in 1953, in the summer. However, in the spring, Elina and Kirill broke up. As it turned out, Lavrov already had his eye on another girl. It was actress Valentina Nikolaeva.

Ideological graduate student

Before this, there was another unsuccessful love story in the life of Elina Bystritskaya. When she was studying at the Pedagogical Institute, one of the young graduate students was in love. Over time, their relationship could develop into something more. But the guy turned out to be too ideological. As Elina Bystritskaya said, the graduate student was very modest and for a long time did not dare to start courtship; he only glanced at the beauty with big dark eyes.

Finally, overcoming his shyness, he invited the girl either to the cinema or for a walk. When late in the evening the young man, having brought Elina to the gate, was about to kiss her, the unexpected happened. The USSR anthem boomed from a loudspeaker located on a nearby pole. The unlucky admirer suddenly straightened his shoulders sharply, standing at attention. Bystritskaya didn’t want to meet this guy again.

There are no others...

The country said goodbye to the unsurpassed performer Aksinya in “Quiet Don”. No matter how many other film adaptations of the famous novel by M. Sholokhov there are, it is with this one that all subsequent ones will be compared. Just like Maya Plisetskaya is and will be looked up to by all the new Carmen.

However, as has recently become the custom in Russia, after the departure of any more or less famous figure in science and especially art, a “debriefing” begins.

What are they discussing? Yes, everything - family relationships, illegitimate children, housing issues, jewelry, enemies, lovers, and if there is absolutely nothing to cling to, then the turn of personality traits comes. Here you can “dig up” a lot! At the same time, the law is somehow forgotten or simply ignored: “It’s either good or nothing about the dead.”
