Despite his undoubted talent, Rodion did not graduate from music school - he dropped out before finishing his studies a year. By his senior year of high school (by the way, it was not just a school, but with in-depth study of English), he generally lost interest in music: his voice began to break, “Lucy” and “Dance While You’re Young” had already set the teeth on edge and sounded completely different from in childhood.
The future seemed completely uncertain, and the young man, at the request of his parents, went to England to study at a prestigious institution called Gulf Coast State College. Anthropology, American and English history, architecture, art history are just a few of the subjects taught there. Studying, as they say, “didn’t go well”; the young man studied for two years, but constantly asked his parents to allow him to return to Moscow. Evil tongues then whispered that one of the heroes of the film “Silver Lily of the Valley” was “copied” from Rodion, even the artist was chosen to be an outwardly exact copy. The young man returns to Russia, and his father angrily excommunicates his son from financial support.
Should I go back to the stage and remember “Lucy”? No, I will prove to everyone that I can make money myself, and it doesn’t have to be show business!
