This vocal competition, which “thunders” throughout the Russian Federation from year to year, became a confirmation of the vocal and acting talent of Alexandra Vorobyova, which was noted by the show’s mentors and millions of television viewers who cast their votes at the final battle of the strongest participants in the super show on Channel One.

Recently, four participants of the “Voice” project on Channel One came to Petrozavodsk on tour. Recently, an interview with the winner of the first season, Dina Garipova, appeared on our website, and in today’s interview, Alexandra Vorobyova, the girl who won the third season, answered the questions.

Life with a difference

— Sasha, you graduated from music school and music college with honors. Can you be called an exemplary girl in real life?

- I guess so. I try to never be late, I always finish things to the end. You can say that in life I am also an excellent student.

— So, there is no place for hooliganism?

- Absolutely not. There has never been any precedent either in kindergarten or school. Strange.

- Why strange?

- Don't know. It seems to me that everyone has some skeletons in their closet; there was at least some petty hooliganism. And I don’t remember anything like that at all. If only that once on New Year's Day I went for a walk and returned in the morning. I was about 17 years old. Mom and dad were fighting a lot back then.

“I thought everything in “The Voice” was for money”

— Can we say that winning “The Voice” was a consequence of such an exemplary lifestyle?

- I don't know. It seems to me that then the case finally decreed. I was lucky to get to Alexander Borisovich Gradsky, it is known that all the previous winners were from his team. I didn’t even think that I would be able to pass blind auditions and get into the project: it seemed to me that everything was done there for money. Many people think so. But it turns out that you just need to come and pass.

— Before your participation, there were two more seasons of “The Voice.” Have you thought about coming to the program earlier?

— I practically didn’t watch the first season, I only saw some performances on the Internet. I didn't really follow the second season either. In 2013, I graduated from the music academy and thought that I could go to “The Voice”: I had already gained some experience. And a year ago I sent a questionnaire. The hardest part was the blind auditions when we waited 10 hours for our turn. We arrived at 9 am, got ourselves in order and waited. The line could have reached 6 pm.

— So there is no clear time for the performance?

- Of course not! Everyone there is late, everything is delayed. Some of the jury are having lunch, others have gone away. And we sit and wait. Somehow it was like that.

— I’ve always been interested: in “The Voice” people perform at blind auditions, someone turns to them, and they continue to sing as if nothing had happened, no one even screamed with joy even once.

“It’s really not easy to finish singing to the end.” It would seem that one of the mentors pressed the button and that’s it, you don’t have to continue! But no. I have poor eyesight, so I could only vaguely see the silhouettes of those who were turning towards me. It was fun. I seem to see Dima Bilan singing along, followed almost immediately by Gradsky, and then, already at the chorus, Pelageya. This gave me confidence. I thought to myself: “Wow!”

— Is it difficult to choose from several mentors?

- I decided in advance. I knew that if possible, I would definitely go to Alexander Borisovich. Both our grandparents are fans of his. Grandfather really wanted me to go to Gradsky: he is also a musician. In the end, I fulfilled his wish. Pelageya’s work is also very close to me: I studied folklore. I like the way Dima Bilan sings - his music is now on my player. Lately he's been making really cool songs. But Alexander Borisovich was beyond competition. He organizes our tours, we call him and come to visit. We will work in his theater, which will open in September, and we will sing and play roles there. We have already been to this theater, and, of course, everything is done very coolly.

— The main thing in “The Voice” is victory or participation?

- Naturally, everyone just goes there to participate, to try their hand. But in my case it turned out that victory was nothing at all. They also gave me a car; Pasha (Sasha’s fiancé - author’s note) and I are driving it now. I had never had a car before, I thought I couldn’t save up for one. With my income this was unrealistic.

-Where did you work? — I sang in a cover band. We had some performances, corporate events, but it was so insignificant in terms of money that we didn’t even dream of a car, and we would have to save up for an apartment all our lives. Let's lose weight together

While we are talking, Sasha and Pasha are choosing dinner. The menu includes vegetables, chicken, fish.

— Sash, do you have any kind of diet?

— Pasha and I have been eating right for a month now. That summer I was thin - I tormented myself with different diets. And while I was on “The Voice,” I don’t know how many kilograms I gained, but I gained a lot. And during the tour, I decided that it was time to lose weight.

— Usually, because of nervousness, everyone, on the contrary, loses weight.

— Well, I had a lot of free time during the project. At first, rehearsals were once a week, filming was once a month. The rest of the time I had nothing to do, I ate a lot, and this is the result.

— Does Pasha support you?

- Certainly. He can be said to be the founder of my healthy lifestyle. He gives me training schedules and menus.

Oh this wedding

— Your fiance always travels with you. Does he help you on tour?

- He is an administrator, not only for me, but also for the other girls. But they usually don’t have any questions - we have everything: food, housing. Alexander Borisovich suggested that Pasha work with us and said: “He’s always there anyway, let him be the director, and you can rest and prepare for concerts.” And I'm all for it! It’s much easier for me with him - there’s always a shoulder nearby, there’s always someone to rely on. You don't miss home so much with him.

- There is an opinion that a couple should not work together...

- Well, I haven’t felt any difficulties yet. We feel comfortable together. He doesn’t worry, doesn’t think where I am, doesn’t call every five minutes. He's terribly jealous.

- Aren’t you jealous?

- Yes, me too, of course, so it’s for the best that we are close all the time.

— As far as I know, you are planning a wedding. Is the preparation process in full swing?

— We are planning to get married in the summer, probably. There will be two ceremonies: one in Cyprus, the second in Russia. Most likely, in Saratov, in my hometown, it is cheaper there than in Moscow.

— Did you meet long before “The Voice”? — In 8 months. I sang in a restaurant with a group, and Pasha came there almost every day. It was impossible not to notice him: he always got up in the same place and drank tea. We constantly caught each other's glances.

Sasha's fiance joins the conversation:

Then I found Sasha on social networks and sent her songs. I was afraid to approach, I don’t know how to talk to girls. Then Sasha answered me in “Contact”, and after that we made eye contact again at her concert. Sasha was sitting on the speaker, and I realized: it’s time to come up and talk to her! I took my kettle of tea and walked with the thought that I needed to start a dialogue. And already approaching her, I understand that no, it’s better for me to pass by. But she spoke to me herself. A dialogue ensued. I asked her: “Are you working out somewhere?” This is the dumbest question that could come to my mind! After all, if she sings on stage, she probably studied somewhere! In general, we started talking, then there were escorts home, everything was like everyone else. Beautiful time. It was great. I remember everything like today.

Childhood and youth

The biography of Alexandra Vorobyova begins in the Saratov city of Engels - where the future singer was born on December 24, 1989. Fans of the winner of “The Voice-3” are inclined to believe that her parents, Andrei and Evgenia Vorobyov, predicted success in Russian show business for Alexandra as a child, sending her to study at a music school at the age of 6.

Alexandra Vorobyova

Alexandra studied under the guidance of her mother, a piano teacher and accompanist. The choice was also influenced by my grandfather Vyacheslav Khokhlachev, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, a professional musician, who fascinated his granddaughter with this form of art from childhood. Despite the fact that Alexandra’s dad is a technologist by profession, he loves to play the guitar.

Initially, the girl studied two instruments - violin and piano, but later became interested in singing. Vorobyova’s voice was increasingly heard at concerts of children’s vocal ensembles in the city. Alexandra’s younger sister Eugenia also grew up in a talented family, who also devoted herself to music and later entered the Prague Conservatory to study piano.

After Sasha mastered the basics of vocals, in 2004 she became a student at the Saratov Music College. After 4 years, the girl went to Moscow, where she entered the full-time budget department at the Academy. Gnesins, which she later graduated with honors.

Already in her youth, the girl devoted a lot of time to music and, in addition to studying in her specialty, began to appear on stage with the cover band Spotlight Band. Another member of the popular metropolitan group was Roman Beresnev, who appeared in the People’s Artist project and won the TV show Be a Star. To perform with several musical compositions, Alexandra mastered playing percussion instruments.

Childhood and family of Alexandra Vorobyova

The future singer Alexandra Vorobyova was born in the Saratov region in the city of Engels.
The girl showed talent for singing and music since childhood. Parents, noticing this, enrolled their daughter in an art school. At first, Sasha studied folklore, and in elementary school she began to seriously study vocals. Even then, teachers noted Vorobyova’s abilities. In addition to singing, Vorobyova studied piano. After graduating from school, the future singer entered the music school in Saratov. She continued her education at the Gnesin Academy of Pop-Jazz Vocals. The girl became a graduate in 2013.

Music

In 2013, Vorobyova graduated from the Academy. Gnesins, in which other participants in the show “The Voice” could boast of studying. At the university, the girl studied pop-jazz vocals. Sasha’s education was relevant - the girl showed the whole country what she was taught in educational institutions, the skills she acquired helped her “snatch” victory in the finals of “The Voice-3” from other participants in the project.

Alexandra Vorobyova in the show “The Voice” - “Chandelier”

The decision to go on stage was not easy for the girl. At one time, Alexandra was embarrassed about her appearance. Even at school, the future singer was taller than her peers, and later grew to 188 cm and seemed huge to herself. The girl went on diets to cope with her imperfect figure, which, as she later said, affected her health. But participation in the All-Russian music competition showed how talented and attractive Alexandra is, and the media more than once called her one of the most beautiful and slender performers on the project.

“The Voice” amazed the young singer from the first releases. Vorobyova followed every broadcast of the program with great attention and even sent her application form to participate in the 1st season, but by that time the time for the qualifying rounds had already passed. According to Alexandra, this played into her hands, because Sasha began preparing for the competition 2 years before the project went on stage.

Alexandra Vorobyova - “Swan Fidelity”

At first, the girl had to work hard, overcoming the difficulties of the “Blind Auditions” and other stages of the Channel One vocal television project. The first performance won the hearts of three mentors at once: the song Chandelier attracted the attention of Alexander Gradsky, Dima Bilan, and Pelageya.

Despite such popularity among mentors, the singer completed the “Blind Auditions” in the team of Alexander Gradsky. When the judges asked why the singer chose this mentor, Vorobyova admitted that both her parents and her grandfather-musician liked this performer and composer, so she trusted the preference of her loved ones.

Alexandra Vorobyova - “The Phantom of the Opera”

Alexandra Vorobyova’s songs, sounded as part of the “Voice-3” television project, almost instantly became hits on social networks - caring television viewers “captured” sound and video from television broadcasts, and then almost immediately after the completion of the next stage of “The Voice” they shared their “creative spoils” with others fans in thematic groups of social networks.

In choosing the competition repertoire, the artist completely trusted her mentor, only occasionally offering her favorite compositions. In working with his ward, Gradsky focused on revealing the musical image, and not on the technical side of the process.

Vorobyova’s most popular songs on “The Voice,” according to social networks, are “Swan Fidelity,” “Beloved, Sleep!” and The Phantom of the Opera. Many SMS voting participants noted that they liked all the songs, so they cast their votes for this participant.

As a result, Alexandra won “The Voice”; the final of the television project took place on December 26, 2014. Vorobyov was supported by 55.4% of TV viewers. 2nd place went to no less charismatic participant Yaroslav Dronov.

After participating in the “Voice” project, Alexandra continued to sing and perform on stage. In the spring of 2015, together with other musicians, she went on a tour of Russia “Two hours of “The Voice””, organized by Alexander Gradsky. Concerts took place in 25 cities.

After this, Gradsky invited Vorobyova to join his opening theater. The actress agreed, although she admitted that she had no acting experience, but still believed in her mentor’s instincts.

Later, the singer began working on a solo program, experimenting with style, and selecting songs for the repertoire. The girl also began to write music on her own. At the end of 2016, Alexandra Vorobyova gave 2 solo concerts: in October in Moscow, in the Gradsky Hall, and in November in Saratov.

Excerpt characterizing Vorobyov, Alexander

- Look who's here?
– the little girl whispered. And peering into the darkness, I saw strange “shelves” on which people were lying, as if in a dryer. – Mom?.. Is that you, mom??? – a surprised thin voice whispered quietly. - How did you find us? At first I didn’t understand that the child was addressing me. Having completely forgotten why we came here, I only realized that they were asking me specifically when Stella pushed me hard in the side with her fist. “We don’t know what their names are!” I whispered. - Leah, what are you doing here? – a male voice sounded. - I'm looking for you, daddy. – Stella answered mentally in Leah’s voice. - How did you get here? – I asked. “Surely, just like you...” was the quiet answer. – We were walking along the shore of the lake, and did not see that there was some kind of “failure” there... So we fell through there. And there was this beast waiting... What are we going to do? Source - ""

When Sasha was among the participants in the third season of the show “The Voice,” presented by Channel One, almost none of her relatives and friends were surprised, since they were all convinced of Vorobyova’s talent and undeniable potential.

At the “blind” audition, where the young singer performed the song Chandelier, she was supported by her closest people - her mother, sister and young man. It is known that this composition is performed in the original by singer Sia. Alexandra performed so successfully that three judges of the show turned to her almost from the very first notes - Dima Bilan, Pelageya and Alexander Gradsky. It was Gradsky that Vorobyov chose as her mentor. She explained this choice by the fact that her musician grandfather, as well as her parents, always admired Gradsky’s work and were his fans. Later, Sasha said that she could choose both Bilan and Pelageya as a mentor, whose work and performances she cannot help but like, but it is Gradsky who “stands” in the first place.

Vorobyova, continuing to participate in the show, managed to stay in it even after performing in the “fights”. Her rivals were two other singers from Gradsky’s team - Ekaterina Shemyakina and Valentina Biryukova. Despite the fact that all three girls are extremely talented, only Biryukova and Vorobyova advanced to the next round. At this stage, Alexandra presented the composition in French “Waltz about the Waltz” to the audience. Sasha sang the song flawlessly, which immediately determined her transition to the next stage of the show. Soon you will be able to see the next performance of this performer as part of the “Voice” project; she will take part in live broadcasts. Many are already making predictions about who will win The Voice this time. There is an opinion that Vorobyova has every chance.

Vorobyova grew up in a family where music was present in everything. The girl’s mother taught piano at an art school, and her aunt taught folklore. Alexandra’s grandfather is an Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation. His last name is Vyacheslav Khokhlachev. For a long time he was the chief conductor and artistic director of the Pokrovsky Dawns orchestra. It is not at all surprising that little Sasha’s abilities for music were noticed very early.

From time to time, Vorobyova comes to her hometown, where she sees her family and meets with friends. Recently, having arrived home between stages of the “Voice” show, the singer visited an art school, where she began to study singing and music, and received her first musical education. According to the teachers’ recollections, their student was always a modest and hardworking girl as a child. It is known that Alexandra has been dating a young man named Pavel for almost a year, who is now her concert director. He recently proposed to the singer, and she accepted. Most likely, the wedding will take place in the summer of 2015. The marriage proposal was made to Sasha in the air, when the young people were taking a sightseeing tour in a helicopter. The girl noticed Pavel among the regular spectators. Soon they started dating. Pavel went on tour with Sasha several times, after which he began helping his beloved in organizing concerts, leaving his job at a bank. Vorobyova loves her hometown, but understands that to fulfill her dream she needs to be in Moscow. She believes that participating in such a popular show as “The Voice” will help her achieve her goal.

Now, judging by Alexandra’s Instagram, she is preparing a solo album for release. The artist also actively performs at the Alexander Gradsky Theater and at other significant events. In the winter of 2018, a concert was held at the Kremlin Palace dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the TV show “The Voice”; in April, Vorobyova performed at the anniversary concert of Ilya Reznik, where she performed the hit “Vernissage” in a duet with Alexander Marshal.

The winner of the third season of the show “The Voice” was 25-year-old Alexandra Vorobyova from the team of Alexander Gradsky. The majority of TV viewers voted for her.

The finalists of the project were: Mariam Merabova from Leonid Agutin’s team, Pelageya’s ward Yaroslav Dronov, Alexandra Vorobyova under the leadership of Alexander Gradsky and Alexander Bon, who was mentored by Dima Bilan. Before the start of the decisive battle, the four performed the song of the Swedish group ABBA “The Winner Takes It All”. Each of the finalists then sang three songs: one with their mentor and two solo.

There were some oddities too. So, during Yaroslav Dronov’s performance with Pelageya, the singer’s microphone did not work. The mentor responded with lightning speed to the costs of the live broadcast: she asked the audience to applaud Yaroslav until the problem was fixed. Fortunately, specialists quickly dealt with the malfunction, and the duo was able to begin performing the Cossack folk song “Not for Me.”

It is interesting that Leonid Agutin’s student Mariam Merabova came to support the singer’s wife Anzhelika Varum and his father Nikolai Agutin.

Mariam Merabova was the first to drop out in the race for the title of the country's best voice. The singer thanked Leonid Agutin and all the other mentors, Dmitry Nagiyev, as well as her family, husband, friends and the Armenian diaspora. Then she performed the song “Confession of an Artist.”

Alexandra Vorobyova’s second solo number deserves special attention. During the performance of an aria from the musical “The Phantom of the Opera,” the girl managed to change from a floor-length sequined dress into a bold rocker outfit consisting of tight trousers and a vest, and then back into a dress.

In the second stage, Alexander Bon dropped out of the fight. Television viewers, apparently, were not impressed by his performance of Zemfira’s composition “Ripe.”

Thus, Alexandra Vorobyova and Yaroslav Dronov ended up in the super final. The majority of TV viewers voted for the ward of Alexander Gradsky - Vorobyov received 55.4% of the votes, while the ward of Pelageya Dronov received 44.6%.

The prize was presented to Alexandra Vorobyova by the General Director of Channel One, Konstantin Ernst, the chief producer of music and entertainment programs, Yuri Aksyuta, and the General Director of Universal Music Russia, Dmitry Konnov. As a prize, Vorobyova received a statuette, a contract with a record company, and a BMW car.

In addition to congratulations and thanks, Konstantin Ernst said that the show “The Voice” will have a fourth season, since this program is incredibly popular among viewers.

In conclusion, Alexandra Vorobyova once again performed the song “Swan Fidelity”. Then all the participants of the third season of “The Voice” came on stage and, as at the beginning of the program, sang ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All.”

It should be noted that Alexander Gradsky’s students win the “Voice” show for the third time. In the first season it was Dina Garipova, who then represented Russia at Eurovision 2013, in the second it was Sergei Volchkov.
