BIOGRAPHY
Alexey Vorobyov was born in Tula.
His father, Vladimir Viktorovich, worked as the head of security at the enterprise, and his mother, Nadezhda Nikolaevna, was a housewife who devoted her entire life to her family and children. Alexey loved football very much and played as part of the Tula youth team, and at one time even thought about becoming a professional athlete. At an early age, his parents sent the boy to a music school. Alexey, like his older brother, played the accordion. While classmates were running in the yard, Vorobiev sat for hours at the instrument. Even then he understood that in order to achieve something in life, one must constantly work. The young musician took part in various competitions and won. But at a certain moment, Alexey suddenly realized that something was missing in his life: “I made my first and most important decision myself, but my parents were against it. At the age of fifteen I quit playing the accordion and decided to sing. They didn't understand why I was giving up what I had given nine years of my life to. After all, I was already a person with a profession, at least I could work in an orchestra or get a job as a teacher. That's what my parents thought. But I went to music school not as an instrumentalist, but to major in “folk choir director.” I remember my mother saying in horror: “Are you going to sing like an old woman now?” In 2004, Vorobyov became a soloist of the Tula folk ensemble “Uslada”, and a year later won a gold medal in the “Vocal” category at the youth Delphic Games in Ryazan.
Childhood and adolescence of Alexey Vorobyov
Alexey Vorobyov’s birthplace is the city of Tula, 1988. Alexey's parents had nothing to do with creativity and the world of music. The boy’s father held the position of chief of security, and his mother was a housewife who dedicated her life to Alexei and his brother and sister. Brother Seryozha and sister Galya also studied music as children: Sergey chose the accordion for himself, and Galinka chose the piano. His brother and sister did not give up music, and subsequently Sergei created his own jazz group, and Galina decided to try herself in opera vocals. Both did it successfully.

Alexey’s parents were loyal and did not impose certain frameworks and goals for life on their children, which is why all three managed to start playing music, but this did not happen right away.
As a child, little Alexey, like most boys of his age, was passionate about sports, namely football, and even played in a special football section. He dreamed of being a great football player and was already making plans for a life in big sports and was a scorer in the Tula city team.
Unexpectedly, probably even for himself, Alexey became interested in singing and music . After some time, he realized that sport was not his main hobby, and he wanted to connect his life and career with music. However, the passion and desire for victory acquired in sports helped Alexey conquer the heights of the Russian stage. Like his brother, Alexey began playing the accordion, but singing attracted him much more. After graduating from school, Alexey entered a music school to become a director of a folk choir. The family was hostile to this son’s decision, but did not interfere with him, and it bore fruit.

"SECRET OF SUCCESS"
Alexey understood that he couldn’t stop there and had to move on. “I didn’t have a plan to conquer Moscow, I only saw it briefly, from the bus window, coming several times to contests and competitions. But I believed that a chance would definitely appear. And he really showed up. At the age of 17, I heard that the Russia TV channel announced a casting for the show “The Secret of Success.” Arriving at Ostankino, I found tons of similar applicants there, but I was not at all scared, but, on the contrary, I was inspired and, as a result, passed the selection. For several weeks I was shown on one of the main channels in the country. I was in seventh heaven!” recalls the artist. The project gave Alexey invaluable experience and introduced listeners to a new artist. But most importantly, the singer met producer Katerina Gechmen-Waldek, who played a big role in the fate of the aspiring performer.
GLORY
After winning the “Secret of Success” competition, Alexey entered the vocal department of the Gnessin Variety and Jazz School. He is young and successful; in 2006, the recording company Universal music Russia signed a contract with him. In the same year, the singer performed the official anthem of the Youth Eight at the G8 summit.
After graduating from music school, Vorobiev enrolls in Kirill Serebrennikov’s course at the Moscow Art Theater School. The singer says about this time: “Once I went to audition for a VJ on the MTV channel, and got... the main role in a youth series (“Alice’s Dreams” - ed.). Then I had no idea what the acting profession was, how to exist on camera, how to act—I didn’t understand anything at all. But I had no doubt that I could handle this too. Nineteen years - and again you have to start from scratch, learn a new profession. “I started acting and went to enter the Moscow Art Theater School.” But due to being very busy in 2010, the artist was forced to stop his studies.

Having made his screen debut in 2006, Alexey continues to actively act in films to this day. Films and TV series were released with his participation: “An Unfinished Lesson”, “Scythian Gold”, “Phobos. Club of Fear”, “In the Forests and on the Mountains”, and many others.
"SUICIDES"
In 2012, the comedy “Suicides” was released, in which Alexey Vorobyov
. The film tells the story of three friends. Disillusioned with everything, they decided to commit suicide. Finally, the heroes decide to fulfill one cherished wish of each, which as a result turns into a series of absurd and funny events. For his role in this film, Alexey received the prize “For Best Actor” at the 13th open Russian festival “Smile, Russia!” “Our movie, despite the name, is very positive and kind. It so happened that it touched upon the recently aggravated problem of suicide. In fact, this problem does not lose its relevance at any time, but for some reason right now the media is giving enormous attention to suicide cases. This encourages unbalanced individuals, as they believe that after their death a large number of people will find out about them. Our film is about the fact that there are no hopeless situations. In any case, you need to continue to look for a way out and hope for the support of loved ones,” says the artist.

Since 2012, Alexey has been starring in the youth series “Deffchonki”, in which he plays the role of the popular musician Sergei Zvonarev. The artist admits that in his work it was important for him to play the complete opposite of himself - a real rock star, a self-confident and cool guy: “I’m not as cool a guy as Sergei Zvonarev, whom I play. Vorobyov, for example, does not drink or smoke, and Zvonarev does not care who looks at him and how. The main thing is to have fun."
"CATHERINE"
In 2014, the TV series “Ekaterina” premiered on the Rossiya TV channel, in which Alexei Vorobyov played the role of Stanislav II August Poniatowski, the last Polish king and Grand Duke of Lithuania. The actor says about his participation in the film: “For me, the small role of Stanislav Poniatowski was a kind of mini Oscar.” I was specially called from America to play this character. They reported that there is simply no other artist, looking at whom the audience will believe that he can simply come and “take” the woman he likes, especially if it is Empress Catherine the Great. DIRECTING
At the beginning of 2013, in Los Angeles, Alexey Vorobyov was involved in a car accident, after which he required long-term rehabilitation. Alexey recalls: “I would never have tried myself as a playwright and would not have started writing scripts; it would never have occurred to me to stand on the other side of the camera. But I had no choice. I needed to live." The script for the debut film was written by Alexey during a flight from St. Petersburg to Moscow. The plot centers on the story of a father who goes crazy after the death of his beloved daughter. At the American Action on Film Festival, the film received a prize for “Best Short Foreign Film.”

Recently, Vorobiev has gone through serious trials: sudden decline in fame, failure at Eurovision, separation from Oksana Akinshina... — Alexey, is it true that you are leaving Russia?
- Yes. I flew to Moscow for a few days for the premiere of my favorite cartoon. I’m a fan of the first part, I even have a rug in my bathroom with the characters from “Cars”, and the second part has become even more interesting and looks like an action movie. And on June 20 I need to be in Stockholm (we talked last week. - Ed.), then I fly to Los Angeles. There I record songs and work.

— There are offers to star in foreign films. I was at the Cannes Film Festival, where I was invited by the producers of a film in which I might star. There are many offers, and thank God. I will soon say goodbye to the Russian capital and will only come here to film films. This is final and irrevocable. I am glad that I am part of Russian show business, but I am happy that show business is not part of me, so I am leaving with peace of mind for America.
- And there they are waiting for you with open arms...
“There is work there, but they don’t let me work here.” I am a patriot, but when they make it clear to you for five years in a row that no one needs you here... You can continue to fight against the welded doors of our show business, but there is another way - and, thank God, I got it. I am the first Russian singer who has a chance to make it abroad.
Alexey sees no prospects for himself in Russia...
— Why do you think Russian stars didn’t support you after Eurovision?
— Many of them tried to break into the European music market. But it was I who signed a contract with the best producer at the moment, Red One, who works with Lady Gaga. And after that, few people could be unbiased about my performance. This is a trait of our people: if someone stumbles, not only will they not give him a hand, but they will also push him with their foot so that he will definitely fall.
— Is it true that you auditioned for a role in “Brigade-2”?
- Yes. Like any normal Russian person, I was a fan of the first part, and it would have been simply stupid not to try for the second. But not everything depends on me. My height is 186 cm. Sergei Bezrukov would be up to my shoulder. I don't look much like Sasha Bely's son.
“I didn’t cheat on Akinshina!”
— What is your relationship with Akinshina now? She spoke unflatteringly about you in the press.
“She’s still a woman... Then she had every right to accuse me of all mortal sins.” Oksana was offended that I devoted little time to her. And the newspapers wrote that I had a new girlfriend. One could think anything. But I didn't cheat on her. And at Kinotavr we made peace, and we have excellent friendly relations.

— Who initiated the separation?
- Everything has come to a standstill. We argued over the phone and via text messages. Both, exhausted and offended, came to the conclusion that they had to separate. We parted via Skype. The modern world is structured in such a way that people meet on the Internet, meet on Skype and part by text message. This is especially true for artists who are always on the road.
Okay, I'm 23, it's not time for a family yet. I am a young, absolutely normal person, well, maybe a little loving. And I'm afraid to get married early. I'm afraid to make a mistake in choosing a companion.
— Will you be looking for a new lover in the States?
- I never look. Everything happens not at my command, but by itself. Feelings can flare up even in a cafe, where I go every day, but I fall in love there, unfortunately, not every day... But I’m ready for changes in life!
CAREER IN USA
Currently, Alexey lives and works in Los Angeles, and comes to Moscow only on business. In America, the artist writes music, records albums, and acts in films. In 2014, Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez's film Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For was released, in which the actor played a cameo role. More noticeable was his work in the horror film “The Vatican Tapes”, in which Alexey played the role of Doctor Kalik. The film tells about the struggle of exorcists against evil for the soul of a girl. In the States, the actor has already starred in several films, and he has already been accepted into a serious agency. “Now they are sending me various invitations to castings, waiting for me to return there. I had already played a great guy, a tennis manager, in a pilot for ABC Family, but the show didn’t go any further—it wasn’t picked up. They film dozens of television projects, and then only a few go on air. For me, the difficulty is that everything needs to be built completely new. I did something in Moscow for ten years, tried, and suddenly everything was starting from scratch again... Although it doesn’t cause me psychological problems, I just perceive it as the next step,” admits Alexey.

In the fall of 2020, Alexey Vorobyov announced the competition “I want to sing with Vorobyov.” Its winner was the young singer Katya Blairi. A little later they recorded the song “Yours Around the Clock” and shot a rather funny video. It is noteworthy that Alexey directs all his videos himself, including his hit “Crazy”.

- Intelligence and sense of humor. The young man is sure that a girl should be interesting and fun. And everything else is not that important if you are truly in love.

Alexey is a supporter of a healthy lifestyle. Every day he goes to the gym, runs, tries to eat right. His schedule is so busy that he simply doesn’t have enough free time. The artist does not hide: “I am a classic workaholic with a pronounced wasted time syndrome: if I suddenly have a free hour, I begin to think that I am wasting my time. The artist's most faithful and reliable friend is a Welsh corgi named Elvis - Melvis. The dog accompanies his owner everywhere and lives with him alternately in Los Angeles and Moscow.
Tragic accidents
There were also some tragic accidents in Alexei’s life. So, in 2012 During the filming of a mass brawl for a film dedicated to Florentine football, Vorobiev received an accidental blow to the head and was taken to a local hospital unconscious. A few days later, Alexey was discharged from the medical facility, because the injury turned out to be not serious.
And in 2013 The press exploded with the news that Alexey Vorobyov was in a very serious accident in Los Angeles. An army of millions of fans breathed a sigh of relief when they learned that the talented artist was alive.
