Olga Kormukhina: “For 30 years now I have not paid attention to the laws of show business”

Happy childhood years

The first cry of little Olya Kormukhina sounded within the walls of the city maternity hospital on the first calendar day of the summer of 1960. This significant event, which brought happiness to the house of her parents, who were also partly creative people, took place in the small town of Gorky (the former name of Nizhny Novgorod). The family loved music extraordinarily, although before little Olya appeared there were no singers in the family.

Her father's name was Boris. He had an excellent tenor, but did not study music professionally, but worked as an engineer at a factory. I sang at home only for my own people. He was accompanied on the piano by Olin's brother Andrei, who was 10 years younger than her (later the whole country would recognize him as a talented composer).

Young Olga Kormukhina

Faina’s mother had no direct connection to music. After graduating from the Faculty of History and Philology, she headed the museum on architecture, culture and life of the Nizhny Novgorod Volga region. However, music surrounded Olya from childhood. Therefore, we can say that it is not by chance that she is present in the biography of Olga Kormukhina.

Growing up and developing in a musical, creative atmosphere, Olenka knew from an early age what she wanted to be: an artist, a singer. Despite her very young age, the girl understood well that you need to work hard to get noticed, to get something done. This is what she did, learning scales and notes. The parents sought to instill in their daughter a love of classical music. And the daughter, according to her own rebellious nature, loved rock, daring music.

Childhood

There is an unwritten hierarchy among musicians.
Rockers consider themselves more “advanced” than those who perform pop music. Olga Borisovna Kormukhina did not immediately come to understand this kind of peculiarities. Moreover, at the time when it was necessary to choose a profession, she clearly understood her future path in life. The girl was determined to get a serious specialty that would bring her a decent salary. And she also planned to start a family and have children. At the same time, she simply did not consider other components of success. The future singer was born on June 1, 1960 in an ordinary Soviet family. At that time, my parents lived in the famous city of Gorky. My father worked as an engineer at a car factory. Mother worked as the director of an architecture museum. Olga already had an older brother, Andrei. There was a friendly atmosphere in the house, conducive to creativity. The head of the family had a tenor of rare timbre and in his spare time he loved to perform classical romances and folk songs. My brother played the piano very well. The girl took part in home concerts with great desire. She knew the words to all the songs that were sung by adults.

Youth and rebellion

In 1977, seventeen-year-old Olga graduated from high school in her native Gorky. The question arose about where to go. The girl wanted to devote herself to music, but her mother passionately wanted her daughter to follow in her footsteps and take up architecture. Olya was a loving daughter and heeded her mother’s requests, entering the Chkalov Academy of Architecture in her native Gorky.

Olga did not like architecture. Having entered the academy against her own will, she was never able to fall in love with this science. Her soul gravitated towards music. Therefore, Olya could not stand it and left the architectural institute. Mom was beside herself, but her father took her daughter’s side. Olga was given the green light. Thus began her own journey of finding herself as a rock musician.

Considering the biography of Olga Kormukhina, one cannot help but mention her numerous successful performances at various music competitions. Olga first took part in the All-Union Jazz Music Competition “Nizhny Novgorod Spring” in 1980. This was her debut performance on the big stage. It was not in vain for her: Olga took home from the festival the honestly deserved Grand Prix in the “Best Solo Vocal” category.

Olga Kormukhina

Yesterday I looked.” . “Hello again” on NTV - at the end of the program there was a story about the famous singer of the 90s Olga Kormukhina, surprisingly, it was somehow kind and cozy. It was he who inspired the topic of this post. I immediately remembered my childhood. . .you won’t believe it, for some reason I confused this singer with Masha Rasputina - it seemed to me that they were similar - both “patchy and hoarse.” . . Now, of course, I will never say that. . Rasputina is like Kormukhina, like the Sun. In general, I decided to remind you about her. So, Russian rock singer, actress, poetess and director Olga Kormukhina, or as she was also called “Russian Tina Turner,” was born on June 1, 1960 in Gorky (present-day Nizhny Novgorod). She grew up in a musical family, although her parents were not directly involved in music. His mother is the director of the Shchelkovsky Khutor Museum of Architecture and Life of the Peoples of the Nizhny Novgorod Volga Region, and his father is an engineer. But it was from him that the future singer passed on her passion for music - as he repeatedly sang amazingly, he had an extraordinary tenor. In 1977, at the insistence of her mother, Olga entered the GISI named after. Chkalov (now the Academy of Architecture) to the Faculty of Architecture. However, she was more attracted to creative fulfillment and the desire to sing. In this Olga was very supported by her father when he told her mother to leave her daughter alone and give her the opportunity to choose the path. The debut of the future singer took place in the spring of 1980 at the All-Russian Jazz Festival “Nizhny Novgorod Spring”, where she won the “Grand Prix” in the “Best Solo Vocal” category. After the victory, the singer was immediately noticed and began to be invited to various local ensembles and philharmonic societies, but she chose the restaurant because she realized that she needed to learn to sing and gain experience. In the restaurant, Olga performed what was then called a “firm” - works from the repertoire of Barbra Streisand, the male repertoire of the Eagles, Chicago and Steve Wonder. Olga's restaurant period lasted a total of three years. The fame of the singer reached Moscow: in the early 1980s, O. Lundstrem's orchestra needed a singer. O. Lundstrem came incognito to listen to the singer in a restaurant, and after listening, he immediately invited her to prepare a jazz repertoire and move to Moscow. In 1983, Olga Kormukhina moved to Moscow and entered the Gnessin State Music College in the pop department with teacher T. N. Markovich, combining her studies first with work in the orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem, then Anatoly Kroll, and also performs in jazz-rock a team assembled from students of the Institute named after. Gnesins. In 1986, the young singer took part in the Jurmala-86 festival of young performers, where she was awarded a special festival diploma. Immediately after the festival, Olga received numerous job offers from various groups, and composers such as Laura Quint and Margarita Pushkina invited her to perform their songs. Olga considers the latter her godmother in creativity - it was Margarita Pushkina who wrote the song “I Believe” for Olga - one of the most powerful songs in her repertoire and iconic for the singer herself. After successfully graduating from the Institute. Gnesins in 1987, Olga, from all job offers, chooses “Rock-Atelier” by Chris Kelmi, which included two soloists: Vadim Uslanov and Olga Kormukhina. The most famous song of that period is “Tired Taxi”. In 1988, a crisis was brewing in Chris Kelmi’s team, and the guys from the Black Coffee group approached the singer with a proposal to create their own group. In September 1988, the Red Panther group was organized, of which Olga became the vocalist. While working in the Red Panther group, the following songs appeared: “Bleak House”, “I Don’t Believe You”. Meanwhile, Olga becomes close to the musical group and in 1989 she begins her solo career. She performs as a solo performer at the festival in Sopot (Poland), as well as at the television competition “50/50” with the song “Tired Taxi”. In 1991, Olga Kormukhina already organized her own group of musicians “Gella” and actively toured the cities of Russia. In the same year, Olga made her debut as an actress in the film by Y. Sabitov “Step to the right... step to the left...”, where she plays the role of a singer who finds herself hostage in the zone. The singer's career peaked in 1992-1993. This was the time of her active touring work and filming on television. In addition, in 1992, Olga Kormukhina won the national music award “Ovation” in the category “Best Rock Singer” according to an audience poll for 1991. But 1993 becomes a turning point in the singer’s work and life: on the wave of success, she decides to sharply reduce the number of tours and practically stops acting on television. The singer experiences a spiritual crisis and loses interest in music. The situation is aggravated by a not very happy personal life. In addition, after some time Olga develops serious health problems and the doctors’ diagnosis of “cancer” sounds like a death sentence for her. During this period, the singer radically reconsiders her lifestyle, priorities, values, and attitude towards creativity. Olga internally comes to Orthodoxy and its spiritual values, leads an almost monastic lifestyle. The disease is successfully overcome, but the feeling of emptiness does not let her go. In 1997, she goes to her father Nikolai on Zalit Island in the Pskov region to find salvation. It is Father Nikolai who will pull her out of the abyss of depression. As Olga herself said, when she approached the priest for the first time, he simply looked at her and said: “Well, what took you so long?” The singer herself went to the priest with the thought that her only possible path was monasticism, but Father Nikolai did not bless her for this step, telling her that she was needed in the world and her purpose was singing. In addition, he blessed her for marriage, although she no longer hoped to find personal happiness. . . But in 1998, her fateful meeting took place with her future husband Alexei Belov, guitarist of the rock band Gorky Park. After the service at the St. Daniel Monastery, Alexey left the church and ran into Olga Kormukhina. Having learned that she was being spiritually nourished by the great elder Father Nikolai from Zalit Island, Alexey asked Olga to introduce him to the priest. At the next visit to the elder, they received a blessing, completely unexpected for both, to live together. As the singer herself later admits, she subconsciously looked for a person like her father and found him in the person of Alexei. On April 25, 1999, the wedding of Olga Kormukhina and Alexei Belov took place. And the couple got married in the Church of Fyodor the Studite, where Olga sang in the choir in the choir. On May 2, 2000, a long-awaited and desired child was born - daughter Anatoly. Despite her spiritual quest in the 1990s, O. Kormukhina continued to be creative and give infrequent concerts. And from the beginning of the 2000s, Olga Kormukhina’s fruitful creative collaboration with her husband Alexei Belov began, which continues to this day. The songs “I'm falling into the sky” (a video was shot for the song), “Heart is not a hotel”, “Wait”, “I'm not afraid anymore”, etc. are recorded, the words and music for many of which were written by Alexey and Olga. In 2001, the singer, together with her husband Alexei, recorded songs for the Russian-American project “Red Serpent” (directed by Sergei Vorobyov and Gino Tananescu), and in 2005 - for the Russian-American project “Mirror Wars. Reflection I” (dir. V. Chiginsky). In 2006, Olga Kormukhina took part in the “Star Factory” project, where she made her first big public appearance. In 2007, a documentary film “I'm Falling into the Sky” was made about Olga Kormukhina (directed by Anton Dorin, produced by Ekaterina Altynova), which was shown at several Russian film festivals. In the fall of 2007, Olga Kormukhina entered the directing department at the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov (workshop of V. Ya. Lansky). In 2008, Olga Kormukhina filmed her first directorial course work, “It Shines and Warms,” on Zalit Island about two bosom friends. The main role was played by Evdokia Germanova and Olga Kormukhina herself. And in 2009, the singer filmed her graduation work “The Bell,” in which Larisa Guzeeva and Ivan Okhlobystin played the main roles. On July 16, 2010, Olga Kormukhina took part in the International Festival “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk”, where the premiere of the duet with Alexei Belov “Open the door for me” also took place. On February 29, 2012, the long-awaited album by Olga Kormukhina “Falling into the Sky” was released, which included 18 compositions by Alexei Belov, Evgeny Kobylyansky, Sergei Savateev, Grigory Bezugloy, Margarita Pushkina and also a version of the song “Cuckoo” by Viktor Tsoi (in my opinion, absolutely not inferior to the original). And on July 8, 2012, Olga Kormukhina took part in the “Invasion” festival for the first time, which took place in the village of Bolshoye Zavidovo, Tver Region. On October 5, 2012, Olga Kormukhina was awarded the “Man of the City” award, which was held in Nizhny Novgorod at the Gorky Academic Drama Theater. But the singer’s interests are not limited only to creativity - Olga is also actively involved in charity work. In particular, from August 10 to 12, 2012, she held the Ostrov.ru festival of good deeds in the Naro-Fominsk district of the Moscow region. Currently, she lives with her husband and daughter in the Moscow region in 1 house along with her brother and his large family and is simply happy. As the singer herself now says, “a person must have an irresistible attraction to the fact that he is destined to do what he loves. Sometimes it’s important not only to hear your spirit, but also to follow it.” That’s who she is, Olga Kormukhina - a gorgeous singer and just a good person. PS Girls, don’t quarrel about the length of the post - it’s just that when you write about such people it’s difficult to highlight only dry facts because a lot matters. Updated 29/10/12 16:31

Work in restaurants

After an enchanting victory at the jazz festival, Olga became famous in her Gorky. She was invited to various broadcasts and castings, and she was vying with offers of cooperation from local musicians. But, firstly, the ambitious girl always wanted something more than Gorky’s stage, and secondly, she believed that a good performer should have an established basis.

Dashingly cutting off all offers, she went to sing in a restaurant at evening programs. This act reveals Olga’s character from a new side. Many people shy away from such work, considering it beneath their own dignity. Olga didn’t think anything like that, and since there are many actions similar to this in Olga Kormukhina’s biography, we can conclude that arrogance and arrogance are alien to her. Olga worked in restaurants for three years, gaining experience and knowledge. Soon people began to talk about her not only in her native Gorky, but also in the capital.

Moscow is calling

The famous Soviet jazzman and composer Oleg Lundstrem, just at the time when in Nizhny Novgorod the rock singer Olga Kormukhina (we will continue to explore her biography further) was gaining experience for performances, working in evening restaurant programs, was looking for a soloist for his orchestra in Moscow. . I searched and didn’t find it. And then he somehow found out that in Nizhny Novgorod there was Olga Kormukhina, who sang quite decently. The jazz legend had nothing to lose, so he went to look at this girl. Hearing her, he was subdued. Lundstrom immediately invited the future star to move to the capital and work in his team. Olga, of course, agreed. So Moscow finally appeared in Olga Kormukhina’s personal biography.

Olga Kormukhina: “For 30 years now I have not paid attention to the laws of show business”

“The most intellectual style is rock”

- Hello, Ufa! Finally we are together again - I am very happy. “I see that intellectuals have gathered here,” Olga began with compliments to the audience as soon as she appeared on stage. - You know what scientists say, right? That the most advanced and intellectual style in music is rock.

The singer was in high spirits, even though the sold-out crowd, so desired for any artist, did not happen this time - there were enough free seats in the stalls. In contrast to the Moscow Crocus, where last fall the premiere of the anniversary program “30 years in outer space” took place, where the hall was packed to capacity. Moreover, fans of the artist, famous for her phenomenal voice, hurricane temperament and powerful charisma, flocked not only from different cities of the country, but from abroad.

- And it’s good that this is not a stadium - the same scientists said that only three percent understand rock. So everything is correct,” the singer smiled at the spectators gathered at the Coliseo. — Today is the anniversary concert. For thirty years now I have been flying alone in outer space, not paying attention to the laws of show business, knowing that you are always waiting for me on earth - and I love to return to you. Of course, I would like to sing you new songs, those that are still popular, and those with which it all began - the songs are very important for me and, I think, for you too. And it’s surprising: they have not lost their relevance either for me or, I think, for you.

The anniversary program included a whole clip of the hero of the day’s crowning hits: it included incendiary compositions, lyrical ballads, songs by Viktor Tsoi, and several premiere tracks. Performed by Olga Kormukhina, all this sounded worthy: she had enough voice, drive, and charisma. At the very beginning, “Falling into the Sky” and “Yellow Road” were performed, then the singer presented one of the new products.

— The next song, which I wrote quite recently together with Alexei Belov, is like a rock and roll manifesto. True, a little humorous, but at the same time about serious things. Because when something doesn’t work out for you and you are judged, at least judged from your own bell tower, I say: “You put on my shoes and walk my path, and then we’ll talk!” the singer said before singing "Torn down shoes."

At the same time, the 59-year-old rock diva was wearing high-heeled shoes, which did not prevent her from easily moving around the stage. “Almost sixty, but how wonderful it looks!” — fans shared their impressions. Kormukhina really looked spectacular, as befits a rock diva: bright, energetic, wearing original costumes of her own design, which she changed three times during the evening.

After the first three energetic compositions, the singer decided to slow down a little: after all, combining live vocals with intense body movements was not so easy for her.

- We need to calm down a little. What needs to be done for this? We need to sing a ballad. Now, I’ll catch my breath a little,” the artist exhaled. - That's it, I'm ready! I am ready to touch your souls tenderly, with love, so that they wake up among these everyday life, which everything is covered with some kind of snow - and they sleep, sleep... But in fact, the soul is obliged to work - both day and night. Now we will work with you, but with such pleasure!

At the end of the sensual ballad “On the Road,” the singer was presented with the first flowers of the evening - a bouquet of white roses.

“My husband and I had to go through three difficult years”

Olga alternated songs with monologues. Having sung “Life” and another new song, “Cosmic,” Kormukhina again addressed the audience.

“And now I would like to be very frank with you.” Alexey and I had to go through three difficult, very difficult years,” the artist admitted. “Everything there was very tragic and difficult, but you know, it’s happiness, because it’s not in vain that such trials are sent to us and we really need to be grateful for them.” We understood who we are to each other and who we are in general. We understood what love is. We thought we knew everything about her. It turns out we don’t know anything! And I would really like to wish everyone sitting in this room, maybe not at this price, but at least sometimes to experience this unbearable feeling. Unbearable, because the human heart can hardly contain and imagine real, great love. There is no place for butterflies in the stomach at all - they simply have nowhere to fly, because everything is filled with completely different feelings - and they are more reliable, real. You know, we understand what eternity is - through pain, through fear, a person comprehends himself in the sense in which he was conceived from above. And only in this way can he feel true love. Without loving yourself, your life, the sky, it is impossible to love another person very much. I would like, although I may have already talked about this, but for some reason it broke through me today for you to hear this song. Different people, of course, will perceive it differently and each will hear their own, but I want you to hear me, us and our love.

The singer spoke about her hard-won love in a new song, co-written with Ksenia Ostrovskaya “Only You”, which for her, apparently, became one of those from which, as she put it, “pins her”, since the singer was so emotional that she I had to blink away my tears.

— We wrote the lyrics of this song with one girl - she is an artist, but she writes amazing songs. She is little known in our country; she lives in Austria, although sometimes she comes and gives concerts. “She’s amazing, such a real princess,” the singer admired. “I would like now to sing another song of hers, our song together, which is also dedicated to love.” Love can be different. This is such a high feeling that even the most terrible villains, they, too, have ever loved someone. Even the one who conquers all countries and is feared by entire nations is powerless before love.

Having finished the song “Josephine,” Kormukhina introduced her musicians.

- They are very popular among young people - they have their own schools, groups, projects, but I am incredibly grateful that they travel with me - no one else will play this except them. Because playing Belov’s music is wow! And sing too,” the singer noted. - I would really like you to appreciate their magnificent art - I’ll leave you alone for a few minutes, I won’t disturb you, but you won’t let me down either - everyone says that you are a special audience!

Returning to the hall after a short absence, Olga appeared before the public in the most spectacular image - tight black leather trousers and an original scarlet jacket-uniform - and immediately sang one of her hits - “In Red”, and after it another one - “Birds” .

“I see that our people have gathered in this hall, at least I’m sure you know who we were taught to be.” That's right, my birds! Let's fly! - Olga encouraged the audience.

“There are no more people like my Alexey”

Having performed a dozen songs, Olga finally decided to make happy that part of the audience that had gathered to listen to Alexei Belov.

“I see they’re ready—there are two serious guys sitting over there,” the singer noted. “I know they’re waiting for Lesha—he’s so focused, you know.” Now they will start to chop so hard that it won’t seem enough. And rightly so! Because there are no more people like my Alexey, he is the only one, honestly. If he didn't exist, he would have to be invented, because only his music made me return to the stage. And now he will appear on this stage - the leader of the group "Gorky Park" and the author of all their hits - Alexey Belov!

The musician appeared in the hall to the joyful roar and applause of the waiting fans, who had already managed to shout: “Belova on stage!” The 62-year-old rocker did not look as impressive as his wife, appearing on stage in her casual clothes.

- Very modest, but great! - Olga continued to praise her husband and, catching his embarrassed and reproachful glance, added decisively. - I have the right, you’re not talking about yourself like that. Everyone knows this.

But before finally giving the stage to her adored husband, she again burst into a long monologue.

- You know, our marriage is already twenty years old and if you treat him like a person, then he may already be old enough, but not quite. It seems to him that he knows everything, but there are surprises. And, to be honest, he grew up like this, like a child, studied with us and experienced all sorts of trials that probably cannot be avoided in family life. Lesha and I practically don’t fight, I’m speaking honestly, but sparks fly in the studio and as for raising a child - well, like all normal people in the family. And only once in my life did I not talk to him - I was so angry that I was silent for a whole day and a half. Well, girls, I don’t know how I stood it. But I held on like the Brest Fortress. Do you know what ruined me? Damn music! I walked up, quietly opened the studio doors, heard this song, walked in - well, that’s it! And most importantly, thanks to this song, everyone now knows that we have a great relationship.

After Alexei Belov appeared on stage, many of the same people who had attracted Olga’s attention with their stern appearance perked up noticeably.

- Alive, alive! “I’m so glad,” the singer addressed one of the fans. - Poor thing, how much have you endured from me. Well, now you’ll have a blast like a child. I'm leaving! I never interfere with men's conversations. Men, now is your way out - prove that you are better than us girls.

Alexey Belov did not disappoint the expectations of those “serious guys”: he rocked the hall with the rock classic “We will rock you”, and also performed his own hits created during the “Gorky Park” period - Bang, Tell me why and Moscow calling, of course, he did not forget.

- God bless you! “I kiss you all deeply,” the musician said goodbye, again giving way on stage to his rock and roll lifelong friend.

- Well, now it’s a different matter! Do you feel the unity of souls? What about the phone? I didn’t mean anything bad - that you’re all so spoiled, honestly. I’m already so many years old - I’m in the clear...” the singer said and, apparently, decided to smooth out the awkward situation a little. — Once there was a funny incident. We met by chance with Garik Sukachev in Gorky Park. I ask: “Gorynych, how are you in general, how is your health? Are you drinking? - "No!" - “Do you smoke?” - "No!" - “What are you dragging?” - “In the clear!” Now you and I are going to rush off like a child, because the time is already late, but we still need to carry out the program that we have outlined. What is our program? Erase the tape and record everything again, right? You have your whole life ahead and you need to live it in such a way that there is no excruciating pain for anything. And I really like Ufa, your city is wonderful: everything is so intertwined here, so many nationalities - and everything is so friendly, wonderful! And in general, the musicians from here came out just like that... But from our Nizhny Novgorod they are also quite good. Well, and, of course, we are all united by music, which has already conquered more than one generation and will continue to conquer, because it has salt. What does salt do? It protects against spoilage and it won’t taste good without it!

“Just anyone can’t sing Tsoi”

The next two numbers of the program were dedicated to the creative heritage of Viktor Tsoi - first they performed “Blood Type” and then “Cuckoo”.

“Now we’ll put a nice, bold point.” Again, the song is wonderful, and I won’t give it to anyone,” Olga said decisively before performing “Cuckoo.” - Just anyone can’t sing it!

The audience roared approvingly - the singer's fans were clearly aware that their favorite was trying through the court to ban Polina Gagarina from performing "Cuckoo", accusing her of plagiarism and copyright infringement. Although Tsoi’s hit was covered by many performers, including Zemfira, Olga Kormukhina has only complaints about Gagarina and her producer Konstantin Meladze. The fact is that the arrangement of “Cuckoo,” which was included in Kormukhina’s album “Falling into the Sky” back in 2012, was made by the singer’s husband Alexei Belov, and with the approval of the only son of the song’s author, Alexander Tsoi. The composition performed by Olga was liked by the public, although it sounded somewhat different from what they were used to listening to, because it was not an ordinary cover, but a remake - a serious change to the song, with a different, faster and more unusual tempo, different intonations and even an inserted guitar solo , which Tsoi did not have.

And in 2015, the song was sung by Polina Gagarina - initially for the film “The Battle of Sevastopol”, where the author of the arrangement was named Konstantin Meladze, although it exactly repeated Belov’s remake, made back in 2011. The rocker spouses have been trying to restore justice for a long time, but until recently they did not have such an opportunity, since copyright did not apply to the arrangements. The situation changed in April last year, when amendments were made to copyright legislation. Olga began to act: last fall she filed a lawsuit, which became the first case in judicial practice regarding the arrangement.

The final point in the case has not yet been reached; the proceedings continue, although experts have already confirmed the identity of the controversial arrangements. If Kormukhina and Belov win the trial, then “Cuckoo” performed by Gagarina will be removed from all sources and she will be prohibited from performing it at concerts. By the way, Kormukhin and Belov did not present any monetary demands; they say that it is simply important for them to achieve justice, because Konstantin Meladze is now listed as Tsoi’s co-author, having managed to register his copyright with RAO. Olga is so upset about her husband that she once even refused to sing in the Kremlin, where she was supposed to perform her hit “We Were Taught to Be Birds” in a group concert, when she learned that Polina Gagarina would sing “Cuckoo.”

On the Ufa stage, "Cuckoo" performed with feeling, however, did not become a beautiful point. At the end of the concert, the main hit from Tina Turner’s repertoire was performed - Simply the best (“You are simply the best”), with which the West loves to honor famous athletes and other outstanding men, and the audience, of course, had no doubt who the singer considers “simply the best "

First years in the capital

Having moved to Moscow closer to the mid-eighties, Olga Kormukhina began working in the Lundstrem orchestra, known throughout the country. In parallel with this, she fulfilled her long-standing desire to study at a music university - she entered the Gnesin Institute in the pop department. Despite the fact that Oleg Lundstrem already had a significant name in the musical community, and working in his orchestra was truly prestigious (especially if you came from a provincial town), Olga did not stay long in the maestro’s team. He became a kind of launching pad for her, a springboard, from which she set off further.

After Lundstrem, Kormukhina worked for some time with the composer and conductor Anatoly Kroll, but soon left him. She quickly settled into the capital and gained an understanding of which direction she should move and what she wanted from life. Until she finished her studies at the institute (regardless of her main job), Olga also performed with a student “gang” of rock-jazz musicians.

Biography of Olga Kormukhina - woman, personality, singer

On the domestic stage, she is a bright individual and is distinguished by the peculiarity of her vocal presentation. She is a personality, a rock vocalist with a capital letter, a woman without age, a Russian Tina Turner. We are talking about Olga Kormukhina, a singer who delivers her songs to the audience with a hoarse, slightly strained voice.

And the biography of Olga Kormukhina is as follows: she was born in Nizhny Novgorod (then it was called Gorky), date of birth - 06/01/1960. She was destined to become a singer, and she readily accepted this path.

She grew up in a family that had nothing to do with art, but revered classical music and instilled it in its children: a daughter and a son. Her father, B.A. Kormukhin, who was in the management department of one of the large Gorky factories, revealed himself to his family in a completely different way. He had a velvety tenor and often sang for his household. Olga's brother later became a composer.

Biography of Olga Kormukhina: post-school period

Olga has always been a rebel. Despite the fact that she was instilled with a love for the classics, she was inclined towards rock: it was he who revealed her inner state. So, the biography of Olga Kormukhina clearly shows her essence.

After school, following her mother’s teaching, she directed her steps in a completely different direction than music, and entered the Chkalov Institute of Civil Engineering. Realizing that she didn’t want to be an architect at all, Olga left her alma mater to henceforth serve Merit. It should be noted that the father was entirely on his daughter’s side and respected her desire for music and the stage.

Kormukhina Olga: biography of a musician

Already in 1980, debutant Kormukhina received an authoritative award - the “Grand Prix” among the best solo vocalists at the Nizhny Novgorod Spring jazz festival.
A few years later, in 1986, while studying at the Gnessin Institute and representing it at the Jurmala music festival, she received a special diploma. In 1987 he completed his studies at the institute, receiving a diploma with honors. Doors began to open in front of her and offers of cooperation began to pour in, as if from a cornucopia. She preferred the rock band led by Chris Kelmi to all other offers. From 1987 to 1989, the singer worked with two more groups: “Black Coffee” and “Red Panther”. In 1988, the hard band “Red Panther” with Olga Kormukhina won the Grand Prix at the international festival “Wind of Change”, held in Dnepropetrovsk.

Since 1989, Olga Kormukhina’s biography has taken a new turn - she becomes a solo singer and takes part in many competitions, for example in Poland (Sopot), and meets the national pop diva Alla Pugacheva. In 1991, she organized her own team “Gella”, recorded an album, tried herself as an actress, won and received awards.

Why did singer Olga Kormukhina say “stop” to her career?

Since 1993, the singer seems to have stopped: she reduces touring to a minimum, performances on the stage have become sporadic.
She devoted this period entirely to rethinking her life through religion. Perhaps she was listening to what fate had in store for her? And she was rewarded: in 1998, her fateful meeting took place with the leader of the Gorky Park group, Alexei Belov, who a year later became her husband. Another year later, the family is replenished: Olga and Alexei have a daughter. Since then, Kormukhina has been working in collaboration with her husband. Since 2001, she has more than made up for lost time and takes an active part in various Russian and international projects and charity concerts. Her contribution to the development of Russian music is enormous. She has the subtle sense of a highly professional musician, which is certainly reflected in the choice of songs and their original presentation. Her and her husband’s album “Falling into the Sky” is a great success for the musicians.

First steps

Olga Kormukhina’s personal biography is rich in all kinds of competitions and performances at festivals. So, while in her third year, Kormukhina went to Jurmala to represent her native institute at a competition for young performers. This was in the eighty-sixth year of the last century. The festival was not in vain for the artist - she took away a special jury prize, as well as an acquaintance with Margarita Pushkina, a poet, songwriter, and journalist, with whom she later recorded a large number of songs (Pushkina was the author of the lyrics).

Over the next three years (until 1989), Olga Kormukhina worked with several rock bands at once - “Rock Studio”, “Red Panther”, “Black Coffee”. Some lyrics for the songs of these groups were written by Margarita Pushkina, who became Olga’s good friend. This friendship continues to this day. Then 1989 came. Along with it came the realization that it was enough to sing in groups. Olga began her solo career.

Olga Kormukhina, children

The children of Olga Kormukhina were a long-time dream of this famous Russian rock singer. However, her lifestyle delayed the birth of her daughter for many years. Olga was lucky enough to become a mother only at the age of forty, when she was already completely desperate to give birth to a child. Her two previous marriages could not be called successful, but Olga Kormukhina’s third husband, lead singer of the Gorky Park group Alexei Belov, made up for everything she had not received before. They met when they were already mature, established people, and their biographies had a lot in common, even the specialty they received after school was the same - architect. They met after Alexey returned from America, where he worked for a long time as part of his group.

By the time they met, Olga had experienced a lot, not avoiding the main vices of many creative people - alcohol and a wild lifestyle. The singer’s future husband lived alone after returning from the USA, but was already thinking about starting a family and having children. Together with her husband, they started everything from scratch - together with him Olga turned to faith. With the help of her spiritual mentor, Archpriest Nikolai, Kormukhina was able to cope with her vices; he also predicted to the singer that she was still destined to become a mother and Olga Kormukhina’s children would soon be born. And so it happened - after some time, the singer’s daughter Anatoly was born.

With the birth of her daughter, Olga Kormukhina realized that at forty, life is just beginning. She finally felt like a happy woman, a beloved wife and mother. Kormukhina feels very good next to her husband, who treats her very kindly and caringly. The singer admits that she never had to experience such feelings as she experiences now even in her youth. Their daughter recently turned fourteen years old, and her entire childhood was spent on Zalita Island in the Pskov region, where Olga and her husband bought a house to be closer to her father Nikolai, who became a spiritual mentor not only for the singer, but also for all members of her family. And although now they mainly live in Moscow, whenever possible they try to come to the island to recharge themselves with the extraordinary spiritual energy that reigns in those places.

Now Olga Kormukhina’s daughter is studying at an Orthodox gymnasium, but her parents do not try to isolate her from the outside world, although they do impose some restrictions. For example, they do not allow Anatolia to use the Internet, believing that it cannot give anything good to the child. Solo creativity

Having set off on her own “voyage”, Olga slightly changed the style of her performance. Now she sang less harsh songs, more suitable for the popular music of those years. She never stopped going to various competitions and festivals. For example, in 1989 she participated in a festival in Poland, in 1990 she performed at one of the many television competitions. These competitions brought the singer more and more awards and victories.

At first, in the early nineties, Olga Kormukhina actively toured. She was received warmly everywhere. The rocker was accompanied on these trips by an ensemble she created called “Gella”. It included four male musicians. In 1992, her first album was released, which was also warmly received by the audience - she became the best singer of the year in one of the music awards, and also played in films. It would seem, what more could you want? Fortune clearly turned to Olga! His career was going well, there were many awards, and even more fans.

Decline in activity

However, a person cannot be on the rise all the time. This happened with Kormukhina. The ninety-third year brought her disappointment in what had previously brought only happiness. Interest in music began to fade, the artist sharply reduced the number of filming and performances. She plunged headlong into a new feeling for herself - depression. Perhaps the fact that the personal life page in Olga Kormukhina’s biography still had not been completed played a role here. Another reason is that Olga was simply tired and burned out. One way or another, she began to experience a prolonged depression, from which she was not able to get out of immediately.

And she overcame her problems with the help of religion and love. In search of answers to the questions that arose in her, in search of herself, she turned to God, and then left for the island of Zalita in Diveevo on Lake Pskov (this place is known thanks to the life of the holy elder Nikolai Guryanov, who lived here for more than fifty years and truly predicted many subsequent events). People come to Zalita for silence, God's blessing, and clarity. This happened with Olga. She found all this in this place. It was on Zalita that Olga Kormukhina met her future husband, rock musician, leader of the Gorky Park group Alexei Belov.

Personal life

Olga’s personal life was happy, although it took many years to find her soulmate. The first husband, about whom there is no information, was familiar with the current one and was extremely proud of this fact. He never missed an opportunity to tease his wife with the remark that the musicians of her group did not reach the level of Alexei Belov.

Olga Kormukhina and Alexey Belov
Kormukhina liked the work of the leader of the Gorky Park group; the colleagues knew about each other, but did not know each other. The meeting took place at Elder Nicholas, on Lake Peipsi. The guitarist also sought salvation there from a creative and life crisis. Irina Otieva, Alexey Buldakov, Larisa Dolina were present at the couple’s wedding. In May 2000, the couple had a daughter, Anatoly.

The girl forbade her parents to talk about her, so there are no photos of them together on her mother’s Instagram. Instead, there are shots of Olga in the company of Grigory Leps, Vladimir Kuzmin, Ekaterina Guseva, Garik Sukachev and even Steven Tyler. Lots of pictures with my husband. There was also a place for pets - the cat Mota and the dog Masyanya.

Alexey Belov, husband of Olga Kormukhina: biography

Before continuing the conversation about Olga, let’s say a few words about Alexei, whom the artist chose as her husband.

Olga Kormukhina currently

After a fateful visit to the island of Zalita and meeting with her soulmate (we’ll tell you more about her personal life, husbands, and children in Olga Kormukhina’s biography a little later), Olga went into the shadows for several years. And she returned completely renewed, ready for a new stage in her work.

The triumphant return occurred at the beginning of the new millennium. It is connected with my dear husband. It is Alexey who is now one of the main authors whose songs Olga performs. However, at first Kormukhina did not give grandiose performances. More precisely, she did not perform on stage, but recorded songs in the studio, but did not appear on the “stage” for several more years. Those who watched the reporting concerts of “Star Factory-6” on Channel One managed to see Olga after a long break on stage. It was then that Olga Kormukhina appeared on the stage again. She came to the concert to support Dima Koldun (one of the project participants) and sang her new song “I’m Falling into the Sky” in a duet with him. After this concert, Olga recorded this single and began working closely on the film of the same name.

She discovered her passion for directing and directed three films herself. Then she entered VGIK at the directing department. However, fans were waiting for the singer's disc. The record, entitled “Falling into the Sky,” was released six years after the presentation of the song of the same name at the “Star Factory.” The appearance of this album meant the final return of Olga Kormukhina to big music.

Since 2012, Olga Kormukhina has been a regular and annual participant in the “Invasion” rock festival, a concert in honor of the day of love, family and fidelity, as well as a festival of good deeds, of which she herself is the organizer. For the last three years, Olga Borisovna has been a soloist at the Moscow Regional Philharmonic, and for two years now she has been an honorary holder of the prestigious title of Honored Artist of our country.

The artist’s latest (currently) album was released in 2016. Its name is “Salt”.

Olga Kormukhina's husband - photo

The personal life of Olga Kormukhina is very indicative for those who cannot find their soulmate for a long time. While Olga was young, she was more focused on building her career and did not plan to start a family. Then, in the 90s, a crisis came not only in the work of Olga Kormukhina, but also in life in general. In search of a way out of this crisis, in the late 90s Olga went to Zalit Island.

It was there that Olga Kormukhina found her soul mate - guitarist Alexei Belov, who, like the singer, was looking for moral support. It is very symbolic that two rock musicians met not at some concert, but on neutral territory. A relationship began between them. Olga Kormukhina and her husband got married in 1999.

Alexey Nikolaevich Belov was born on January 24, 1958 in the capital of Russia. He began studying music from early childhood, and his parents sent him to a music school, where the boy was taught to play the violin and accordion. However, at the age of 14, he began to learn the guitar on his own - this musical instrument was his favorite. As a guitarist, he performed in various groups and projects, such as “Nadezhda” and “Moscow”.

In the process of musical activity, he met the famous singer Nikolai Noskov. In 1997, he became one of the founders of the popular domestic group “Gorky Park”, which gained worldwide fame. After meeting and getting married, Olga Kormukhina and her husband took part in many musical projects, and Belov himself wrote songs for his wife, which later became hits. In 2000, Olga gave birth to her first and so far only daughter, Anatolia.

There are no other children in the marriage yet. As numerous family photos of Olga Kormukhina’s husband show, where he is captured with his wife and daughter, their family can boast of excellent relationships for two decades now.
