Features of the profession

Kovtun Vyacheslav is a political scientist engaged in research and analysis of the political situation in the country he represents and in the world. A political scientist, from the point of view of the scientific community, must have a number of specific knowledge and competencies, and engage not in political analytics and popularization of politics, but in the scientific study of the sphere of politics through the prism of history using methods of scientific analysis. However, political scientist Vyacheslav Kovtun personifies the majority of modern representatives of this profession in terms of the functions performed by a modern political scientist-demagogue in the original sense of the word.

Come back, I have forgiven everything. “Forever expelled” Kovtun returned to Solovyov

Ukrainian Vyacheslav Kovtun, once again expelled from Solovyov’s show, is back on the air. The TV presenter, bored and appreciating the ratings, brought him back into action, saying, for the sake of appearances, that he felt sorry for the expert whom he “raised with his own hands” (oh, and you have pets). Show must go on - always, in any weather, epidemiological, political and military situation.

The scandal erupted last week. On March 17, during the evening broadcast of his show, Vladimir Solovyov kicked Ukrainian expert Vyacheslav Kovtun out of the studio. He swore at one of the guests (who, by the way, had previously called him a “moron”). We emotionally discussed the situation with coronavirus in Ukraine, and it almost came to a fight. Solovyov, driving Kovtun away, said: “Get out of here, and don’t appear in the studio again. To say such expressions to my guests.” Security escorted Kovtun out of the studio, and it was stated that he had left the air forever.

But it didn’t work out forever. The couple lasted only a week without each other. Already on March 24, Vyacheslav Kovtun reappeared as an expert on the show. He apologized to the guests and the presenter. Solovyov responded by saying that he felt sorry for the expert. He reminded that the country is in quarantine and no one will let him into Ukraine.

“Well, I feel sorry for him. With these hands, consider, raised, raised. Well, if I throw it away, he’ll get drunk, he can’t do that. They took him on bail,” explained the TV presenter.

Previously, Solovyov, like a wife after 50 years of marriage, never called Kovtun. And “Nazi”, and “fascist”, and “bastard”, “scum”. But he didn’t reproach him about the years spent together in vain. He only smiled in response, and again returned to the show, which had become his home, where, despite the swearing, he would always be well fed.

But seriously, each show has its own laws and logic, each has carefully written roles, and the role of the Ukrainian Kovtun is a pathetic clown who can be insulted and beaten by anyone. He will shout back something absurd, funny and pathetic at the same time, and the eminent guests, playing the role of smart ones, will sadly shake their heads, sometimes, interrupting the clown, object to him something, breaking into a scream. Fights are useful, they increase your rating. But in very measured doses, very little and painlessly for those fighting. Kovtun fits his role perfectly; he is one of the few who are ready to endure all the humiliation for a good fee and play to the end. He is an excellent actor who earns his money's worth. And there are no questions for him.

I have questions for the organizers of this event. The format of the show is completely rotten. Everything is so false that it is somehow even uncomfortable to look at it, as they say in such cases, they are false, but we are ashamed. The written roles are read by any viewer who follows the broadcast at least a little, and no longer inspire confidence. Topics of discussion are like a broken record, old, false, stale, dull.

True, in recent weeks, an element of novelty has been added by the coronavirus, which is being discussed by the same “political experts” whose discordant ranks were once again joined by Vyacheslav Kovtun. But the virus is a temporary phenomenon, which (I hope!) will soon pass, and we will forget about it like a bad dream. But Ukraine and Kovtun are constant, they are the rating-forming pillars of the show. Solovyov’s word in the show has close to zero weight - today he kicked him out, tomorrow he called him back. Everything in the name of rating - scandals and tears, joy and sadness, any acting, any manipulation, everything will do. If only they would look.

But someone is watching. It’s good if it’s just for a performance, a show – and nothing more. But there are still those who take seriously everything that, God forgive me, experts say. Who believes them. Relies on them. Who spends their evenings watching TV, supporting those whose word is worthless and means nothing. Who continues to believe in a cheap show. Aren't you tired?

At the service of the media

People speaking on television are largely responsible for what public opinion will be like and how the internal situation in the country will develop. Also responsible is Kovtun Vyacheslav, a political scientist. You can see Vyacheslav's photo below. As you know, in order for a variety of points of view to be presented on air, foreign experts are also invited to Russian studios to speak on behalf of their country. In popular television programs on federal Russian channels, political scientist Vyacheslav Kovtun often criticizes the Russian government, speaking quite negatively about it. But nevertheless, he is the most colorful and important hero for a TV show. That is why it arouses so much interest among a wide variety of audiences. Let's try to understand his origin and biography.

Ukrainian Russophobe Kovtun suffers humiliation on Russian talk shows for a million-dollar fee

FOR THREE HOURS – 25 THOUSAND RUBLES

Whatever they did with the famous Ukrainian Vyacheslav Kovtun on Russian talk shows. And they beat him, and called him names, and humiliated him - but he couldn’t care less! Kovtun only chuckles sarcastically at the enraged patriots and continues to pursue his anti-Russian line. And, as it turns out, he doesn’t do it for free! “KP” has already written about the exorbitant fees of the American Michael Bohm, the Pole Jakub Koreyb, and other overseas and independent stars of Russian TV.

Kovtun got in the face. Evening with Vladimir Solovyov from 06/07/15 today. Full broadcast.. Kovtun got in the face. Evening with Vladimir Solovyov from 06/07/15 today. Full broadcast.

And these figures were confirmed by the famous Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy. He published a snapshot of the script for the political show “Meeting Place.” All the “price tags” of the guests are indicated there. The most expensive expert is Vyacheslav Kovtun, who charges 25 thousand rubles for three hours of live broadcast.

Anatoly Shariy published this snapshot of the script for the political show “Meeting Place”.

“Well, 25 thousand is not the largest fee that Kovtun receives for broadcasting,” Shariy shared with KP. – Although I heard that in Russia people receive 25 thousand rubles a month. And here's that kind of money for three hours. He could be treated as a fool and a clown. But! If only he had not portrayed “Ukrainians”. I read the comments, many write that Kovtun is a representative of stubborn Ukrainians. And I say no. He deliberately plays the fool, speaks in slogans and adapts to TV presenters so that it is more convenient for them to kick him. And the viewer gets the impression: if a Ukrainian comes to the broadcast, he can be driven under the table with arguments. I don’t believe that if Andrei Biletsky (commander of the Azov battalion, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada - ed.) had come on air, the presenters would have been able to deal with him so easily and wittily. And a clown like Kovtun, from my point of view, humiliates Ukrainians.

Well, a month's worth of Kovtun's TV tours turns into a tidy sum with six zeros.

“He earns about a million a month,” Shariy calculated. — He has an apartment in Moscow. We even found it and talked to his neighbors. But besides Kovtun, there are other “Ukrainians”. Dmitry Suvorov, for example, receives money. He is the lowest paid expert. He was tricked into signing a contract. Suvorov charges 10 thousand rubles for broadcasting. And he walks around in an embroidered shirt and yells.

That's how it is! Grannies swallow liters of Corvalol, having heard enough abominations from Kovtun about Mother Russia. And they also pay him so much money for this. In three hours he receives almost three monthly pensions of an ordinary Russian old man. But why do our television people need such a circus tent?

"PEOPLE NEED A VILLAIN ON SCREEN"

The “enemies of Russia” wandering from one program to another are more like the heroes of jokes. Here is the Ukrainian Kovtun, the American Bom, the slow-witted Pole Koreyba. These actors shape the audience's image of the countries they represent. Well, in addition, the hacking of “ours” and “not ours” gives good ratings.

“Talk shows are impossible without an opposing party,” shared Nikita Isaev, a regular on political television programs and leader of the New Russia movement. - Any “Big Laundry” is also impossible without a traitorous husband whom the whole country will hate. People need a villain on screen. People watch, advertisers make money from it. And even now it is profitable to demonstrate Ukraine as “comical”. Kovtun is shown as the face of Maidan. And Vyacheslav is one of the most striking images of modern Ukraine. He copes with this role successfully.

One more question remains. It turns out that stray “political scientists” are pouring buckets of dirt on Russian people for our own Russian money?

“That’s why I never raised the issue of us paying anyone for the airwaves.” We have a very tough position, guests consider it an honor to come to us, so there is no need to pay money,” TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov shared with Komsomolskaya Pravda. — I can’t say this in defense of other programs. Von Eggert, who worked at the BBC, invited me to appear on air 15 years ago. And when I left the studio, he tried to give me the fee. I refused. It is a common practice in many Western media that the expert's time is paid.

Only the Ukrainian experts themselves refuse to reveal the amounts of their fees and evade the conversation by hanging up.

“I’m not interested in discussing this at all, such crap!” That's it, goodbye! – Kovtun told me on the phone a few months ago, when KP found out his “price tags”.

And why is he so modest? Are you ashamed of the Russian people who spat on him? No, what a shame. Rather, trade secrets and a contract with the TV channel prohibit him from telling the whole truth about the pieces of silver received at the box office.

EVERYTHING ENDS IN A FIGHT

No, no, but on the air someone will punch the “enemy of Russia” in the face. So Kovtun was beaten by another Ukrainian, Yuri Kot, for threatening his son. The dead American Michael Bohm was “knocked down” by presenter Artem Sheinin. Well, why go far? Right today, February 22, on NTV, Andrei Norkin went into hand-to-hand combat with Ukrainian Dmitry Suvorov (according to blogger Shariy, Suvorov receives 10 thousand per broadcast).

After all, political passions extend far beyond the television studio. Pole Tomas Maciejczuk will fight in a boxing match with political scientist Ruslan Ostashko. Tomasz called Soviet soldiers “red fascists.” By the way, a source told KP that the Russophobe Pole charges from 10 to 15 thousand rubles for one broadcast.

“Thousands of people wrote to me and asked them to hit Tomas for his words,” Ruslan Ostashko shared with Komsomolskaya Pravda. “It’s time for our migration services to think about who to let into Russia.” It’s hard to imagine that the United States would broadcast foreigners throwing mud at Americans. Many visiting anti-Russian experts play a role. They try to be as bright as possible - their well-being depends on it. And we don’t play anything, we speak our beliefs. And when Ukrainians and Poles go too far, emotions run high and fights even break out in the studio. Although, I understand, this cannot be done.

Kovtun Vyacheslav (political scientist): biography

Information about this Ukrainian politician is presented on the Internet quite modestly, but you will see everything that was found below.

The village of Karakul in the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic is the birthplace of Vyacheslav Kovtun (political scientist). Biography:

  • Nationality according to official documents is indicated as Kyrgyz (Soviet passport).
  • Marital status: married, three children.
  • Kovtun Vyacheslav (political scientist) - year of birth - 1968, May 17.
  • Sources of income - in addition to the activities of a “political scientist-educator”, Vyacheslav is engaged in business and owns a private security company.
  • Kovtun Vyacheslav (political scientist) has a party position - chairman of the control commission of the Liberal Party of Ukraine.

Without a doubt, many biographical facts need clarification, but at the moment this is all the information available on the Internet.

A television

Having failed to earn the desired amounts in Ukraine, the political scientist set off to conquer Russia. Here he became a media personality and regularly participated in television debates. Kovtun's fees for speaking are quite good. You can find information online that one appearance in a talk show brings an actor up to 50 thousand rubles. Vyacheslav categorically denies these data.

Kovtun is preparing for filming

The Ukrainian crisis brought real popularity to the political scientist. He became a welcome guest on the programs “Right to Voice”, “Special Correspondent”, “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov”. Kovtun speaks harshly against the Russian authorities, which causes a storm of emotion among viewers and colleagues.

On one of the broadcasts, Kovtun got into a fight with Yuri Kot

The Ukrainian managed to achieve the desired popularity. He began to appear not only in political shows. The politician was invited to become one of the main participants in the program “The Fate of a Man with Boris Korchevnikov”:

As Vyacheslav says, the Russian government apparatus needs him. Because his person stands out favorably against the background of the general gray mass of political scientists. Many Russians are interested in Kovtun’s personality. However, most people see him as a negative character on television.

Political scientists Andrei Okara and Vyacheslav Kovtun

According to viewers, the statements of the Ukrainian political scientist contradict morality and ethics. Many call him an "evil clown." Most likely, Kovtun simply chose this role for himself and is trying to fully live up to it. The activist constantly gets confused in historical facts, dates, and denies obvious things.

Political activity

It is also reliably known that political scientist Vyacheslav Kovtun is engaged in public activities in Ukraine and serves as director of a public opinion research center. This center is located in the capital of Ukraine - Kyiv - and is called “Expert”.

But his career in the political field did not go so well right away. Having moved to Kyiv, Kovtun first studied at the history department of the Taras Shevchenko University. The emergence of a new postgraduate educational program dedicated to political processes and institutions was a great success for student Kovtun. Like many others, during his student years Vyacheslav managed to make useful contacts. It was at the university that Kovtun joined the company of pro-Western political scientists.

The path to political glory

Currently, the public figure with an extraordinary appearance and a rather peculiar manner of conducting political discussions is 51 years old. He has a higher education. He graduated from the history department of one of the most famous universities in his country - Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko University, where he entered after moving to Kyiv.

V.N. Kovtun, with his characteristic provocative manner of conducting television debates, fiercely supports the Ukrainian government and harshly criticizes the Russian government

Having received a diploma in history, Kovtun continued his education in graduate school at the Institute of National Relations and Political Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. While studying in graduate school, he decides to make a career in politics.

He is deeply immersed in the world of political events, working as an assistant to deputies. Becomes a member of the presidium of the Liberal Party of Ukraine. He heads the center for research of social processes, called “Expert”. He unsuccessfully ran for the Verkhovna Rada twice.

However, defeat in the Ukrainian political arena did not pull the rug out from under Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Kovtun and did not break him.

In order to rise to the political Olympus, he comes to Russia. On Russian channels he takes part in programs where political events are analyzed live. Scandalous situations often unfold around him. Polemics often go beyond verbal conflicts and descend to the level of personal insults, and sometimes even to the point of assault.

According to some sources, for participation in television debates, a media personality receives fees in the amount of 10 to 50 thousand rubles.

Career development

Having become part of the Innovation Center, Vyacheslav began preparing for the first congress of the assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This event became key in the career of the aspiring political scientist and predetermined the development of Kovtun’s career. Today it is known that Vyacheslav Kovtun actively advocates the return of Crimea to Ukraine, calling the referendum held on the peninsula an annexation of part of Ukrainian territory.

Health problems

At the end of October 2020, the Ukrainian political scientist ended up in intensive care. Doctors miraculously saved Kovtun’s life. Political strategist Konstantin Dolgov was the first to report Vyacheslav’s hospitalization. He posted a corresponding message on the social network. The specific reasons why the Bandera man was hospitalized became known later.

Regular on political talk shows

According to Dolgov, he participated in the “Who’s Against” program. Not seeing a regular at political shows in the dressing room, the political strategist was surprised and began asking other participants where Vyacheslav Kovtun was now and what happened to him. It turned out that the political scientist’s diabetes suddenly worsened. In one of his interviews, Konstantin Dolgov said:

“They told me that Kovtun’s legs hurt - he complained about it. And I decided to steam them. As a result, he developed diabetes. And he ended up in intensive care. Political position is one thing. But I wish him a speedy recovery, although Kovtun does not answer the phone.”

Fortunately, the hospital provided the Ukrainian figure with timely and qualified assistance. Currently, Vyacheslav’s life is not in danger, his health is stable.

Crimean history

Immediately after graduate Kovtun submitted his dissertation, he was invited to participate in work on a project to create an anti-crisis plan in a specialized center under the administration of then-president Kravchuk. The work of the commission was dedicated to maintaining the Crimean peninsula as part of the state. The job was not so highly paid that an aspiring political scientist could stop moving up the career ladder. Nevertheless, a certain benefit for the recent student was, of course, obvious.

Kovtun plunged into the very epicenter of the work of the government apparatus, and became better acquainted with prominent political figures of Ukraine. Perhaps it was while working in this kind of political field that Kovtun learned to separate words from deeds. From now on, the same kind of information appears on television screens, but in reality something completely different happens.

Useful work experience

Very soon, the duties of a political consultant were not enough for the ambitious Vyacheslav. Having started his career working for the government, Kovtun soon decided to take up work within the party mentioned earlier. At that time, the political scientist was surrounded by representatives of the “developing oligarchy,” representatives of the criminal world, people from the Donetsk region. Just remember the founder of the party, Markulov, who was close to the then-current president and his adviser. Subsequently, both closest “comrades-in-arms” left the plundered country and returned to it only at the turning point of the “revolution.”

One way or another, the Liberal Party did not enjoy much success in the elections and already in 2006 was unable to overcome the electoral quantitative limit. It is safe to say that it was while working in the Liberal Party that Kovtun acquired such qualities necessary for a political consultant as oratory, the ability to convince others that he was right, or at least a lively desire to convince his audience, and much more. The political technologies mastered by Vyacheslav helped him and became the basis for his success on television, among other things.

The first major project for Kovtun was the organization of the First Congress of the North Atlantic Treaty Association Assembly. During this period he was an employee of the Innovation Center. The event gave impetus to professional growth, and the aspiring political scientist gained the long-awaited status.

After defending his dissertation, Kovtun received an invitation to develop an anti-crisis plan in the administrative center under the current President Leonid Kravchuk. The commission was organized on the issue of keeping the Crimea peninsula within Ukraine.

For Kovtun, this activity turned out to be low-paid, but the ambitious political scientist did not think of refusing the appointment. It promised career growth. Having received a job in the government apparatus, Vyacheslav Kovtun developed the necessary connections and became part of the circle of politicians. Gradually mastering his new responsibilities, he was able to afford to increase his workload. Joining the Liberal Party seemed like a profitable decision. Kovtun even ran for the Rada twice, but the endeavor was unsuccessful.

His entourage included people with dubious reputations, including adviser to President Leonid Kravchuk and Prime Minister Leonid Kuchma, Igor Markulov. Having become an ally of one of the top officials of the state, Kovtun left the country with him at a difficult moment to return to the beginning of the revolution. The “Liberal Party”, of which he was a representative, was not popular. In the 2006 elections, she failed to obtain the required number of votes to enter the race.

The experience gained helped Kovtun develop oratory skills, the ability to influence the opinions of others and a tendency to actively communicate with the audience. The consultant has mastered specialized technologies that help navigate the political situation and form his own point of view.

He regularly voices it, appearing as an invited guest on television programs on Russian channels. Kovtun’s clear conviction is the illegality of annexing Crimea to Russian territory.

Now Vyacheslav Kovtun is a member of the presidium of the Ukrainian Liberal Party. He also holds the position of chairman of the control and audit commission. The political scientist represents the interests of the research center located in Kyiv. Little is known about the activities of this organization. Vyacheslav Kovtun is interested not only in government affairs, but also in commerce. The analyst owns a security business.

A television

An unsuccessful career in Ukraine made the political scientist think about possible prospects and pushed him to travel to Russia. Having become a participant in television political discussions, he gained media status. Today, the analyst denies that he receives fees for speaking engagements comparable to a permanent salary.

The first wave of popularity overtook Vyacheslav Kovtun in the mid-2010s, when a crisis broke out in his homeland. The expert participated in programs devoted to politics and related topics. He was invited to the shows “Right to Vote”, “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov”, “Special Correspondent”. Kovtun’s Russophobic statements found support or complete denial among his colleagues and the audience.

Kovtun assures the public that administrative departments of the Russian government apparatus are interested in his speeches. He is confident that his person stands out clearly from the background of Russian political consultants. The viewer follows the performances, perceiving Kovtun as a representative of the Ukrainian community.

His statements often run counter to generally accepted standards of ethics and morality. For this, the expert regularly receives unflattering statements from his broadcast partners. Today, the photo of the Ukrainian political consultant is recognizable on the Internet. His name is well known among those who are interested in the difficult political situation that has developed between Russia and Ukraine.

Personal life

Vyacheslav Kovtun is married and has three children. A marriage concluded in his youth united him with his beloved named Julia. The wife lived with the analyst for 27 years. The personal life of the political scientist became the subject of discussion in the program “The Fate of Man,” released in 2017. The expert turned out to be a studio guest in the company of Vadim Tryukhan.

In 2020, the relationship with his wife became public thanks to the “New Russian Sensations” project. Julia spoke about the difficult task of maintaining a family in a marriage with a tyrant who beat her, her children and her mother-in-law.

The political scientist has not shown himself to be an exemplary husband for a long time and has a lover on the side. His wife accused him of lacking paternal and marital responsibility and interest in how his children live.

Vyacheslav Kovtun now

Kovtun is still a frequent guest in political discussions, in which he demonstrates poor knowledge of history and acts as a rather annoying factor for other experts. The columnist's sarcastic statements are based on the desire to piss off his opponents.

Kovtun regularly reveals contradictory facts about his own biography, causing confusion among the public and opponents. Thus, on the program “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” in February 2020, he stated that he served as a mortar commander for 2 years.

The observer has a personal account on Facebook. On Twitter and Instagram, users actively use the hashtag in the form of the political scientist’s last name and first name.

Vyacheslav Kovtun on Russian TV

Vyacheslav Kovtun speaks ambiguously about his appearance on Russian television in one of his interviews with online media. The political scientist states that the Kremlin administration specifically invites Kovtun in an effort to increase television ratings; for the Russian government, he (in his own opinion) is nothing more than a scapegoat, standing out from the background of the bulk of Russian political consultants.

The figure of Kovtun is also interesting to viewers because this political scientist expresses the opinion of the Ukrainian community without regard to morality and ethics, for which, by the way, he often receives from guests of the same studios where he speaks.

Information about childhood

The public figure with the Ukrainian surname Kovtun does not talk about his childhood and parents, so not much is known about his origin. Only in one of his many interviews did Vyacheslav Nikolayevich casually mention his father and mother and, at the request of the journalist, said that his father was an engineer and was involved in the production of military equipment. As part of his service, he often flew on business trips to the Moscow Aircraft University. After the collapse of the union, he remained working in the same field, but now began to engage in the disposal of the very shells that he had previously developed.

Vyacheslav’s mother worked at a school, teaching history, although her specialty was Russian language and literature. In her youth, my mother, like many of her peers, explored virgin lands.

This is interesting!

The surname of Vyacheslav Nikolaevich is quite widespread in Ukraine. In Russian, the word “kovtati” means “to swallow.” In ancient times, this could have been a nickname emphasizing the love of food or indicating a manner of quickly absorbing food.

The events of Vyacheslav Kovtun’s early biography are not covered in the media. There is only information that the year of his birth is 1968. The place of birth was the small town of Kara-Kul, where his family lived. Apparently, precisely because the future political scientist was born in the sunny republic of Kyrgyzstan, the media indicate that he is Kyrgyz by nationality. Vyacheslav Nikolaevich himself considers himself a Ukrainian, in whose veins mixed blood flows: his father’s Ukrainian and his mother’s Russian.

Vyacheslav spent his early childhood in Kyrgyzstan. School years - in Ukraine, as the family moved to Kyiv. He studied at the school where his mother worked, and showed the greatest interest in the subject that she taught.

From an early age, Vyacheslav Kovtun took an active position in issues that interested him

The boy was a diligent student. He took part in the social life of the school, attended creative clubs and sports sections. He always wore a pioneer tie and took an active position.
