Childhood and youth
Ulyana Pylaeva was born on July 20, 1989 in the city of Dzerzhinsky, which is located approximately 27 kilometers southeast of Moscow. Olga Pylaeva, the girl’s mother, works as a professional fitness and bodybuilding trainer. From a young age, Ulyana felt a craving for the art of dance. The girl consciously decided to connect her life with this.

Already at the age of 7, Ulyana joined a dance and choreographic ensemble called “Buratino”. When the girl grew up, she wanted something more stylish and modern, and she joined the dance group “PLASTILIN”. This is a team that prefers the hip-hop style and performs at concerts of famous artists (groups “Serebro”, “Vintage”, Mikhail Grebenshchikov, singer Maxim, Tatyana Ovsienko, etc.). “PLASTILIN” boasts numerous prizes at festivals of various levels.

However, with her passion for dancing, the girl did not forget about education. Pylaeva entered the Faculty of Financial Management of the State University of Management without any problems, choosing the Department of Accounting and Auditing. By now, the artist has completed her studies at the university.
Teaching work
In the “PLASTILIN” group, Pylaeva, thanks to her extraordinary abilities and ebullient energy, quickly gained authority. This allowed her not only to perform on stage, delighting the audience with her talents, but also to train other participants. In addition, the girl began to work with children whose age did not exceed five years. The dancer took care of the children who were part of the “Pea” group.
The aspiring choreographer did not forget about her hometown, where she got a job at 7&8 as a teacher. Her cousin Olya also works in this studio. The girls specialize in teaching students modern dance styles:

Students perform successfully in competitions at various levels. For example, they regularly win prizes in championships:

After several years of studying and performing in the “PLASTILIN” group, the girl also began teaching there. Ulyana worked fruitfully with the group “Peas,” which includes children aged 3.5 to 5 years.

Periodically, the dancer teaches at the “7&8” studio, which operates in her hometown. Ulyana’s cousin Olya also works with her students here. The girls teach modern dance styles: hip-hop, Sexy R&B, Go-Go, strip dance. Olya and Ulyana’s students take prizes in the “Project818”, “HHI”, “Fame Your Choreo” championships.

Ulyana comes from the town of Dzerzhinsky near Moscow, where she was born on June 20, 1989. Throughout her childhood, she, like many of her peers, dreamed of a stage and the shine of spotlights. In high school, Ulyana became interested in hip-hop and became a member of the group “PLASTILIN”, which was a worthy setting for the performances of pop artists. TV projects
A gifted and spectacular dancer (height 165 cm), she has repeatedly participated in large-scale television shows. So, in 2008, Ulyana worked on “Song of the Year”. The following year, Pylaeva decorated the opening ceremony of the national-level award “Breakthrough” with her choreography. And in 2010 she performed again at the Song of the Year festival. The girl also provided dance accompaniment for the performance of Timur Rodriguez and Ani Lorak with the song “Hobbies” at the annual awards of the MUZ-TV channel.

In 2011, Ulyana presented a dance on a project called “Hipsters Show.” Soon after this, she managed to perform on the Factor A project, which, as you know, is a Russian adaptation of the popular British show The X Factor. In 2012, Pylaeva was among the dancers who performed with the singer Yelka during her solo concert in the capital's Olympic Stadium.
All that same year, Pylaeva performed at the Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Baku. Ulyana performed on tour of the group “A-Studio”, and at the Vitebsk “Slavic Bazaar”, and at the Yalta festival “5 Stars”, and at the “New Wave” in Jurmala, and on the television project “Two Stars”, and on the program “Comedy Woman” of the TNT channel.

2015 was marked for Ulyana with attempts to audition for 2 television shows at once: “Dance!” on Channel One and “Dancing” on TNT. Alas, in the first case, Pylaeva failed to qualify for the final squad. And in the case of the 2nd season of “Dancing”, the girl achieved success by performing a dance in the experimental style, and was selected for Miguel’s main team.
As Ulyana herself says, she was interested in the project because the dancer comes to the fore in it. In the vast majority of cases, dancers are the background for another artist’s performance, and Pylaeva found this level of attention to their personalities extremely attractive.

Even before the start of the project, the artist claimed that she always achieves what she really wants. And if she doesn’t achieve something, it means she doesn’t really need it.
Ulyana Pylaeva’s first number in the project was a duet with Timofey Pimenov, choreographed by Alexey Karpenko. At the second concert, the girl appeared in a room with Nikita Orlov. The choreographer of the dance was Dmitry Cherkazyanov. At the third concert, the dancer, along with Timofey Pimenov and Yulianna Korshunova from Miguel’s team, received the smallest number of audience votes, so she became a contender to leave the project. However, the talent and originality of the artist provided her with numerous audience sympathies, despite her departure from the show. It’s paradoxical, but the act in which Maxim Nesterovich became Uli’s partner turned into one of the standard performances of the project. The television competition became a turning point for the artist’s creative biography.
After completing her participation in the show, Ulyana experienced an attack of depression. The girl felt unfit for the profession and for a long time could not approach the choreographic machine. She decided to change her field of activity and went to work as an office worker. But it didn't last long. Soon Pylaeva was already storming the dance floor. The girl decided to raise her professional level at all costs, and for this she needed training.

In 2020, Ulyana received an invitation to participate in Laysan Utyasheva’s theater and dance show Bolero. The performance used various dance styles, including elements of rhythmic gymnastics, Vogue New Way, High Heel, and modern. Together with other participants in the play Maxim Nesterovich, Nikita Ansimov, Anton Panufnik, Ivan Mozhaikin, Oleg Klevakin, Aykhan Shinzhin and Snezhana Kryukova, Ulyana visited major cities in Russia, Australia, Minsk and Cyprus.
Television projects

In 2020, the artist made an attempt to conquer another peak. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. Ulyana managed to pass the casting in the show “Dance!”, which was prepared for viewers of Channel One. However, she was not among the participants in the final lineup.
Pylaeva’s consolation was her convincing performance in the “Dancing” project on TNT. The second season of this show gave her success, as a result of which the girl ended up in Miguel’s main team. According to Ulyana, the peculiarity of “Dancing” is that the participants come to the fore. Usually the dancers remain in the shadows, acting as a background for the singers.
In this project, Ulya started together with Timofey Pimenov, then performed a duet with Nikita Orlov. The audience did not appreciate the performance at the third concert, giving the girl very few votes. This turn of events meant an almost inevitable exit from the project. This is what happened after the mentor made the appropriate decision.
Despite receiving the minimum number of votes, Ulyana managed to attract the audience to her side. Pylaeva’s skillful and extraordinary dance movements, which were remembered by many, had an impact. In addition, the performance together with Maxim Nesterovich became one of the best on the project. However, after its completion, the dancer fell into depression. Ulya had obsessive thoughts that she had no talent and was a random person on stage.
