Her name became popular not so long ago - shows began in 2011, and at the same time the registration of her personal brand took place.

What is unique about Ulyana Sergeenko’s style? What is special about it that even the brightest ladies of this century choose Ulyana Sergeenko outfits as the basis of their image?

Today I want to share the information I have collected and show a small part of the designer’s works that are very close to me in style and mood.

Ulyana Sergeenko initially became noticeable for her outfits, which very often contain traditional Russian motifs.

Ulyana was born in Kazakhstan, studied at a school with in-depth study of English, and was known as an intelligent and capable girl. The only thing that classmates and parents note is his early commitment to his own style. During my school years it was a short skirt, nylon tights and always loose hair.

The transition from the ordinary world to the Fashion Universe took place in 2008, when, having become the wife of billionaire Daniil Khachaturov, Ulyana Sergeenko began to implement her own style in everyday and formal outfits.

And she has her own style, a unique “a la russe”, simultaneously consisting of the fashion of the early 20th century, retro of the Stalin period and a certain amount of eroticism.

In 2011, Ulyana Sergeenko’s debut collection was demonstrated, which opened the door for her to the world of High Fashion. Ulyana Sergeenko managed to create a truly Russian collection of clothes, avoiding overacting and vulgarity.

I present only a few works from this collection. But believe me, they are all wonderful!

Ulyana called the created outfits “illustrations for Soviet Vogue of the 1950s”; they fully correspond to the designer’s own style.

If you look at the photos showing Ulyana Sergeenko’s dresses, you can see that the emphasis here is on a distinctly retro look. Muted colors, calm images, some minimalism in cut.

Development proceeded rapidly, and soon the name of the brand, its specificity, fashionable shows, and Ulyana Sergeenko’s store were on everyone’s lips.

Since 2011, Ulyana Sergeenko’s collections have followed one after another. And although each of them has its own theme and individual style, there are many similarities between the series.

Spring-summer 2012. The second collection intersects with the ideas of French fashion and the style of Brigitte Bardot. The series is characterized by a combination of Soviet severity, feminine sexuality and Parisian charm. Ethnic elements, impeccable cut, and complex finishing were liked first by Russian celebrities, and then by foreign stars.

The fashion show determined the global popularity of the brand and attracted the attention of the most stylish women on the planet.

Spring-summer 2013. Ulyana Sergeenko Haute Couture. A collection with a vividly realized theme. The designer was inspired to create outfits by works of American adventure literature - “Gone with the Wind”, “Tom Sawyer” and others. For the first time, Ulyana Sergeenko’s clothes did not reflect the traditional Russian style, but changed the continent and time era.

Spring-summer 2014. Ulyana Sergeenko Haute Couture. Paris. The collection amazed everyone with its complexity of execution, a large number of hand-made elements and the unique femininity of the images.

Spring-summer 2020. This time the designer was inspired by the Caucasus. This series is characterized by the exquisite sophistication of the images, the tenderness and severity of the outfits.

Natalia Vodianova, Ksenia Sobchak, Polina Kitsenko - they all appeared in dresses from Ulyana even before her enormous worldwide popularity. After a series of shows, other celebrities became interested in the designer’s work. After viewing the Ulyana Sergeenko collections, Lady Gaga, Anna Dello Russo, Madonna, the Princess of Bahrain and many others wanted to buy the dress.

The editor-in-chief of the French publication L'Officiel compared Ulyana with style icon Daphne Guinness, calling the Russian woman gentle and romantic.

Ulyana Sergeenko's fashion house holds shows in Paris more than once, but the show at Haute Couture Week on July 6, 2020 could be called its debut.

The fact is that the organizers of High Fashion Week assigned the Russian designer the official status of a participant.

Immediately after the opening, the most discussed collection was the “Communal Apartment” collection presented by the Russian fashion designer. Ulyana Sergeenko created a real sensation by showing luxurious outfits, the idea of ​​which was inspired by the atmosphere of a Soviet communal apartment. In the dresses, the designer used hand-woven Vologda and Yelets lace. Lace artists created new intricate patterns and motifs in them.

“We are now in love with our Russian lace: Vologda and Yelets. You won't find this anywhere else. These are original Russian traditions. Fashion trends are capricious and fleeting. But there are things that exist outside of time and fashion. Lace is rightfully considered a luxurious symbol of femininity,” noted the fashion designer.

“From Ulyana these are always such souvenirs from childhood, from our life, from our culture, from our history,” noted model Natalya Vodianova.

“She makes a woman charming, and her outfits always have very simple, clean lines. Even when she creates dresses from dense material, you still have the feeling that this is the outfit of a little princess,” said actress Ornella Mutti.
