Biography
Alexander Ivanovich Solovyov, a descendant of repressed Muscovites, was born on August 19, 1952 into a family of teachers in Dagestan, in the village of Main Sulak, Makhachkala.
Soon his family moved to Norilsk. After school he went to Moscow and entered GITIS. He studied with Andrei Goncharov, in the same course with Igor Kostolevsky and Alexander Fatyushin. In the graduation performance of his own course - “Characters” based on Shukshin, Solovyov played several completely different characters. Vasily Makarovich, who was present at the premiere, left the theater in complete ecstasy.
After graduating from GITIS in 1973, at the invitation of Goncharov, Solovyov began working at the Mayakovsky Theater. A year later he went to the Central Children's Theater and worked there until 1986.
Solovyov, in addition to working in the theater, acted a lot. Voiced several cartoons. The films “Adam Marries Eve”, “The Green Van”, “Baby by November”, “According to the Criminal Investigation Department”, “Ladies Invite Gentlemen” and other films brought him fame.

The film was shot in 1991 before the coup. Solovyov led a column of tanks to Moscow. People ran out of restaurants and did not believe that this could happen. Half a month later, tanks actually entered Moscow. True, not cinematic. “He prophesied,” he saw later, offended. He invited all his friends to this movie: Fatyushin, Vitorgan, Motyl. I found the funds myself and made arrangements with sponsors.
Alexander Solovyov was married three times. Solovyov's wives were famous actresses Lyudmila Solovyova, Lyudmila Gnilova and Ira Pechernikova. In his first marriage to Lyudmila Solovyova (Radchenko) in 1972, the actor had a son, Alexander, who later graduated from the Capital Regional Institute of Physical Education, became interested in wushu, became a two-time favorite of Europe, owner of the European and World Cups and a repeated favorite of the Russian Federation. By the time his father died, he was graduating from Shchukinskoe and, according to reviews, was “terribly talented.”
Since the late 1980s. Solovyov struggled with alcohol addiction and ended up in various drug treatment clinics. Lyudmila Gnilova, trying to save her husband from a destructive habit, forced him to undergo treatment in drug treatment clinics. In one of these clinics, in Feodosia, in 1991, Alexander met his longtime youthful crush - actress Ira Pechernikova. They met for the first time in 1969 - a famous actress throughout the country and a completely young boy. There was no relationship then. Many years later, the actors began an affair in Feodosia. In August 1997, after Misha’s son came of age, the actor left for I. Pechernikova completely. By this time, Solovyov had been married to Lyudmila Gnilova for 22 years, and their affairs had long since left the romantic stage. They were not so much husband and wife as relatives, the people closest to each other. Lyudmila Gnilova let go and forgave her husband.
Solovyov lived with Ira Pechernikova for a little less than three years. All this time they were virtually inseparable. The actress recalled:
“We were together for three years without parting. We even walked to the store together. He didn't know how not to work. But plans always broke down due to funds. I can find some hobbies for myself, but he couldn’t live without work. From time to time it simply exploded. He had a wonderful script, he tried it out - but one time it was a failure, another... We walked around the theaters, watched - and we didn’t like anything enough to take part in it. He almost didn't wait. If I hadn’t died, I’m sure everything would have worked out.”
There is an acting belief: if an actor plays his death, he will die in advance. In the movie “An Incident at the Airport,” Solovyov’s hero, the thief Shnyk, is killed. An accomplice looks through the window of his house and sees the dead man. The man is lying prone, there are signs of a struggle in the room. The expert concludes that he was killed by a blow to the back of the head with a knife or a Finn. And the name of the murdered man was Alexander Ivanovich. How amazingly everything coincides. Alexander Solovyov died catastrophically at the age of 48. On the night of Catholic Christmas, he was admitted to the Sklifosofsky Institute with a traumatic brain injury. According to the official version of what happened, Alexander was found on the street by a passer-by, who went to the 68th police station, where the actor was registered as “unknown” and sent to college. On January 1, Alexander, never identified by anyone, died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
The body was identified only on January 21, one of the morgue employees said that the deceased looked like Handsome from the “Green Van”, Dmitry Kharatyan, the leading actor, was invited for identification, who certified the identity of the deceased. Cremated - January 25, 2000. Friends wanted to bury the urn with his ashes at the Novodevichy cemetery, but Ira decided to keep it at home.

In the biography of actor Alexander Solovyov, one of the most significant works is the adventure film by Alexander Pavlovsky “The Green Van”. The film was released in 1983. The hero of our article played the role of a former football player, horse thief Alexander, nicknamed Handsome.
Dmitry Kharatyan, Borislav Brondukov, Alexander Demyanenko, Regimantas Adomaitis worked with him on the same set.
It was a picture about life in the first years after the October Revolution in Odessa. The central character of the film is the son of Professor Patrikeev, who recently graduated from high school, named Volodya. He is appointed to head the district police department. The policeman Grishchenko works under his command, together with whom the young idealist begins to fight horse thieves, moonshiners and speculators who are making more money than before.
Patrikeev, having read Conan Doyle's stories, dreams of becoming a detective, trying to use his techniques and methods in practice. The climax comes at the moment when Volodya has to fight with the main bandit of the area, nicknamed Cherven.
Shortly after “The Green Van,” in 1986, the hero of our article plays Grigory Otrepyev in the biographical historical drama “Boris Godunov” by Sergei Bondarchuk. It was one of the last significant and serious ones in cinema. Afterwards, a long decline begins in his career. There is a dark streak in the biography of Alexander Solovyov.

On January 1, 2000, according to the official version, Solovyov was found unconscious on the street by a passer-by who contacted the 68th police station. The actor was registered as unknown and sent to the Sklifosovsky Institute, where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Solovyov, who had not been identified by anyone at that time, died at the age of 48 from a cerebral hemorrhage[3].
Irina Viktorovna believes that he was killed by the police: “They hit him. He died from this blow, without even regaining consciousness after the operation.” According to her, a witness to this incident was recently found[4].
The body was identified only on January 21, one of the morgue employees said that the deceased looked like Handsome from the Green Van. The plot tells about an unknown man who does not remember his name. He is brought to a mental hospital after a motorcycle accident. It soon turns out that he is capable of hypnotizing any person, but he does not know where he got such abilities from.
It is noteworthy that filming ended at the very beginning of August 1991. And a few weeks later tanks actually marched through Taganka when the putsch happened. Soloviev himself sadly noted that he had prophesied this event.
"Arbitrator"
Solovyov’s significant work in that period was one of the main roles in Ivan Okhlobystin’s detective thriller “The Arbiter.” For Okhlobystin, this film becomes the first and so far the only full-length film in his career, on which he worked as a director.
The film tells the story of a novice investigator, played by the director himself. Together with an experienced mentor, police major Vladimir Ivanovich (actor Rolan Bykov), they catch a maniac nicknamed Arbiter, played by Soloviev.
The actor also does voice acting. His voice can be heard in the animated series “The Adventures of Yogi Bear”, “Tom and Jerry”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Speed Racer”, and the series “Highlander”.
One of the last film jobs for the hero of our article was participation in Alexander Pavlovsky’s comedy “A Child by November.” Here he plays emergency doctor Vladimir Solovyov. During this period, serious problems began in the biography and personal life of Alexander Solovyov, which led to tragedy.

Alexander Solovyov collaborated with outstanding Russian and foreign conductors, including Arnold Katz, Vladimir Fedoseev, Saulius Sondetskis, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Vasily Sinaisky, Marcello Viotti, Fabio Luisi, Enrique Mazzola, Patrick Summers and others. He took part as a second conductor on recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon and Naxos labels.
He has performed with many famous symphony groups, including the Prague Radio Orchestra, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra (Parma), the Orchestra of Colors (Athens), and the Porto House of Music Symphony Orchestra. He worked closely with the Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra, the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia. Since the 2017/18 season, he has been the head of the conducting and trainee group of the NPR.
Winner of the All-Russian and International choral conducting competitions (Salavat, 1995; Yekaterinburg, 2001), winner of the 2nd prize at the Dimitris Mitropoulos International Conducting Competition (Athens, 2010). Personal life
The biography and personal life of actor Alexander Solovyov have always been closely linked. In total he was married three times.
His first chosen one was Lyudmila Radchenko, with whom he studied at GITIS. Classmate Kostylevsky gave them a book about family life, and the entire university was sure that a wedding was waiting for them.
And so it happened. In 1972 they got married. The actors had a son, who was named Alexander. He also chose a creative profession, becoming an actor and stuntman. He appeared in small roles in the films “On the Corner, at the Patriarch’s 4”, “Bastards”, “Sea Patrol”, “Kotovsky”, “Dragon Syndrome”, “Freud’s Method”.
A little more happiness
Soloviev met his third love, Irina Pechernikova, at the clinic where he was undergoing treatment. The novel, into which the actor’s seemingly fleeting passion grew, became the last in his life. Lyudmila, to whom Alexander at that time was more a close friend than a husband, forgave and released her husband.
Acquaintances and friends of the newly formed couple - Sasha and Irina - were sure that alcoholism would not let the actor out of its tight embrace. However, contrary to the opinions of others, the personal life of actor Alexander Solovyov began to improve. The couple diligently began to arrange family life. Alexander rebuilt a house in the village and actively began renovating it. To live in marriage with Irina for less than three years - apparently, Alexander Solovyov received such a period from above. The actor, whose cause of death was excessive addiction to alcohol, died exactly three years later.
Second wife
There have always been many rumors about actor Alexander Solovyov and his wives. He practically did not raise his son, since he left the family in 1975.
His new lover was Lyudmila Gnilova, with whom he worked together at the Central Children's Theater. They say that Solovyov sought her attention for two years, literally bombarding her with expensive perfumes and bouquets of flowers. Lyudmila was married, but could not resist Alexander’s pressure. In 1979, their son Mikhail was born, who also became an actor.
After the wedding, he continued to regularly bring gifts to his beloved. But soon a creative crisis set in, hard times came when there was no money at all.
After leaving the theater, the hero of our article began to drink heavily. He tried to break out of this vicious circle. I was treated, but consultations with the best narcologists did not produce any results.
Sudden death of an actor
This happened at the end of 99. The actor was not allowed to live to see the new millennium. He left this world suddenly, mysteriously at the age of 47.
Remembering that tragic event, a feeling is born that something is wrong here, this should not have happened! But merciless fate sometimes decides everything in its own way, not as we would like.
On that ill-fated day, December 26, Alexander’s wife was not at home. She went away for several days, visiting a healer (the reason for this was rusty coins planted under their door). But when she returned, she did not find her husband in the apartment. She did not worry at first: Alexander Solovyov did not like to sit at home alone. “He’s probably with friends,” she thought.

But when there was no news from the actor even after a week, the wife began to worry. Friends said they didn't have him. Then the woman began calling hospitals and morgues. There is no positive answer. This was cause for serious concern. But if he died, she would definitely be informed. This was a little reassuring. The poor woman spent a whole month waiting for news from her husband!
Meanwhile, Alexander Solovyov lay lifeless in the very morgue that his wife visited. But why was this hidden from her?!
Here is how it was. On December 26, the actor was returning home and slipped near the house. He fell, hitting his head hard.
An unfamiliar passer-by called an ambulance. The victim was taken to the hospital with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury, where he died a few days later. The cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage.
Since he had no documents with him, the unknown man was taken to the morgue, where he lay for about a month. The policeman who took him to the hospital called to find out what happened to the victim. He was told that his identity could not be established, so one of these days he will be buried along with the homeless.

And then it dawned on the law enforcement officer! He remembered where he saw this man! Of course, this is Handsome from the Green Van...
They called actor D. Kharatyan for identification purposes. But as luck would have it, he was celebrating his anniversary and refused. But he called Solovyov’s wife. She, of course, came and identified him... The actor’s body was cremated on January 25, 2000.
Such an absurd death and even more absurd circumstances after death... Maybe it was not in vain that the wife was worried about the tossed coins?
Irina Pechernikova
The last love of his life is Irina Pechernikova. Actor Alexander Solovyov met her in one of the sanatoriums in Feodosia, where he was undergoing treatment.
Irina was also treated for alcoholism. They had known each other for a long time, but had never communicated closely. An affair began between them.
After Mikhail turned 18, Alexander left the family for a new wife. They got married in 1997.
The last novel
The last love affair of actor Alexander Solovyov, whose biography is rather complicated, began in the early 90s. Irina Pechernikova became her lover, as mentioned above. They met in a Feodosia drug treatment clinic, where both struggled with alcohol addiction. Alexander knew her since 1969, and then there was no relationship at all. But here, in Feodosia, a stormy romance began to develop between them.
In the summer of 1997, Solovyov finally left the family and began to live with Pechernikova.
The actor’s friends believed that this relationship would bring nothing but misfortune, and the society of the “green serpent” would destroy not only love, but also life itself.
However, to spite everyone, the lovers began to furnish their home. The actor was renovating something in the apartment, built a house in one of the villages... But trouble was circling nearby...
