Naked Moroz, desperate Bogomolov

- I love you.

- No, you do not love me. And I don't love you.

- How will we continue to live?

- As we lived, so we will be.

On Thursday, April 18, the eighth and final episode of “Kept Women” was posted on the Start platform - the serial debut of one of the most important theater directors in Russia, Konstantin Bogomolov.

From the very beginning, it was curious what would come of it, because paid access to the series frees up the producers’ hands - they can speak to the viewer harsher and more openly than on tired television. And one can expect anything from Bogomolov, but not conformism, in which, before the boom of non-television series, domestic directors and producers willingly drowned: they seem to want the best, to break the mold, but the result is boring, repetitive and uneven.

The universe of “Kept Women” is Moscow of rich and corrupt officials and businessmen; They have long had more money than they need, but imagine, there is no happiness; plus a detective component. The idea seemed stupid - well, why, they just forgot the Garden Ring about this, and let them burn in the same barn, no, they wouldn’t talk about the lives of normal people.

The visual aesthetics only make things worse: the picture is brightened so that the interiors seem like theatrical stage sets; The apartment of a schoolteacher and an investigator, who barely make ends meet and choke on cheap pasta at dinner, just begs to be included in a designer catalog - instead of arousing sympathy for poverty. The characters speak barely audibly the whole way. At the same time, they don’t act, but rather talk - as they usually don’t do in our TV series (they say Bogomolov taught everyone this way in the theater).

But this whole desert suddenly came to life and began to move. Not right away—perhaps by the fourth episode. “In this series, sex is like real sex,” writes a viewer. And how can he be unreal when Daria Moroz is truly naked, and more than once, and not just her (oh, how much television is losing in comparison with video-on-demand services). Everyone willingly undresses: Marina Zudina, Olga Sutulova, Sergei Burunov. Alexander Kuznetsov, on the contrary, rarely dresses up, but “realness” is not limited to sex.

Explicit scene with the participation of actress Daria Moroz.

Bogomolov drags convention and symbolism onto the screen, without which the theater is impossible (and Konstantin himself, probably, too) - this should have led him to failure, because in the novel fabric of the series everything is arranged differently than in the theater, but for some reason this is what helps believe what is happening on the screen.

Cardboard dialogues (like the one with which this text begins) of inhibited characters (by God, everyone seems to be high) strangely work to make the moment tragic. Laugh, but “Kept Women” is a tragedy in the high, ancient sense; This is what a world looks like where love has died (sorry). In order for the viewer to feel this, everything else works, as if unreal: rich sufferers, who do not exist in the world of a normal person and to hell with them, their expressionless faces - even in the most dramatic moments, when you are supposed to scream; their too beautiful, unreal houses and apartments, their ridiculous conversations.

The conflict stated in the title between the powers that be and their treacherous salaried whores is functionally necessary and works, but it is muted. In the foreground is the main thing: the characters painfully miss hugs, they crave them and try to believe that orgasm is love. But love does not work in one direction, the “reception-transmission” channel is faulty, zombies do not feel - even the pain of being cheated on is still long dead. Even the well-fed and stupid official Dolgachev (Sergei Burunov), who compared to others is a lively person, even the calculating, ruthless provincial Dasha (Sofia Ernst), who plans to endure and fuck the world, and only then blossom in her soul.

Some die literally - detective. Don't feel sorry for anyone.

By the eighth and final episode, the director had become completely insolent. Dasha’s conscience appeared in a dream, performed by Roza Khairullina - just a few seconds when she sees hell inside herself. And the funeral in the crematorium: Bach’s poignant prelude in F minor sounds (we still remember it from “Solaris”). The frame ends, another begins, where the family - dad, mom, son - are sitting “on the path”, sitting together for the last time - she leaves for someone else. And the funeral Bach still sounds.

For the opening soundtrack, they bought the hit of the Dutch singer Sharon Kovacs “My Love”. The song is like a song - about an extinguished feeling, it suits the plot very well. “From dust to dust, from ashes to ashes...” Kovacs sings sadly, pulling from his memory the textbook biblical “From dust we were created, to dust we shall return.” Accustomed to working for the intellectual elite (theater is not a mass spectacle), Bogomolov did not abandon his usual tools, but he still succeeded in the series.

In the last episode, the hero of Alexander Zbruev shouts to the character of Sergei Burunov:

- Igor!

- A?

- [***] - on the!

It’s not every day you hear something like this from a national artist. But the success of “Kept Women” is not in these ripe berries scattered throughout the series. “It’s like a so-so series, it’s boring. But it’s an infection - you can’t tear yourself away. What nonsense? - more from the responses.

Apparently the point is that it was Bogomolov. And everyone needs hugs. The second season has already been announced.

Kept Women - Official trailer.

Beauty secrets

The right habits help the actress keep herself in good shape.

  1. A glass of hot water on an empty stomach. Doctors also talk about the benefits of the “elixir,” confirming the healing properties of the familiar liquid. During the night, mucus accumulates on the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, causing fermentation and putrefactive processes. Filtered hot water removes harmful deposits, toxins and waste. The complexion and skin condition improves, metabolism starts. The water temperature should not be scalding.
  2. Avoiding white bread. Nutritionists say the main disadvantage of refined flour is poor removal of the product from the body. Settling in the intestines, the remains of bread become an ideal environment for the development of pathogenic microbes. Diarrhea, gastrointestinal disorders, dysbacteriosis - this is an incomplete list of associated ailments. Baking modern bread is based on the use of “thermophilic” chemical yeast. An excess of harmful substances does not have the best effect on intestinal function.

Once a week, the actress has a fasting day with fat-burning celery soup or kefir. As for sweets, Daria occasionally allows herself to make her own delicacies.

  1. Recipe 1: chop dates and prunes, mix with cocoa, dip in chocolate chips.
  2. Recipe 2: wash the ginger root, peel it, cut into thin slices. Boil in maple syrup for 40 minutes, then finish in the oven until done.
