Beauty secrets of the stars: how actress Goldie Hawn manages to look the same age as Kate Hudson

Star Trek

Goldie Hawn's acting debut took place in 1961 in the play Romeo and Juliet, but her acting career did not take off immediately. Hawn is a professional dancer, so it is not surprising that the beginning of her creative career is connected with choreography. She was working as a cancan dancer in a cabaret when, in 1965, producers noticed her and invited her to a major striptease show. A little later, the producers of the ABC television channel tried her for one of the minor roles in the TV show of comedians Dan Rowan and Dean Martin: then it turned out that Goldie could not only dance, but also act.

Hawn first appeared on screen in 1967 in the television series “Good Morning, World!”, and the following year he made his film debut (the musical “The One and Only Truly Original Family Orchestra”). The actress's first significant role was as a cheerful party girl in the comedy Cactus Flower (1969), for which she was awarded an Oscar (Best Supporting Actress).

At first, Goldie often exploited the image of a funny and charming blonde with big eyes. But later she was able to get beyond it. Everyone remembers the seductive and beautiful, but dead and disintegrating at every step, Helen Sharp from the black comedy “Death Becomes Her.” And Joanna Staton - a mischievous, self-confident rich girl who, having lost her memory, begins a new life in a small house with three tomboyish boys and their carpenter father, posing as her husband ("Overboard"). In 1980, Goldie Hawn produced the film Private Benjamin, playing the role of an emancipated woman who joined the army. It is known that for her role in the film “The Banger Sisters,” the actress enlarged her breasts by one size. By the way, Goldie Hawn is 168 cm tall.

Making a Star

The full name of the actress is Goldie Jeanne Hawn. She was born on November 21, 1945 in Washington and was raised in a rather bright and creative family.

Childhood and youth

Goldie Hawn's childhood

The actress's mother, Laura Steinoff, owned her own jewelry store, was Jewish and the daughter of Hungarian immigrants. Laura has been passionate about dancing all her life and even in her old age she acquired her own studio. Father Edward Rutledge Hawn worked as a professional musician.

From the age of five, Goldie began to study the art of dance. As a child, she preferred ballet and even achieved impressive success in this field. From the age of 10, the girl took part in various theatrical and musical performances. Her big debut took place in 1961, when Hawn performed in the production of Romeo and Juliet. The first serious performance was so successful that 16-year-old Goldie moved to New York, where over the next few years she participated in various performances.

In New York, the future star entered the acting and drama department at American University. In parallel with her studies, she taught dance in a dance studio and also performed in theater productions. Due to her busy schedule, Goldie often missed classes, so she was soon expelled. This allowed Hawn to focus on her creativity, which helped her quickly achieve fame.

Actor career

Goldie started filming quite unexpectedly. At one of the performances, her talent was noted by a famous agent who called Hawn to the casting. The girl’s first works were:

  • TV series "Good morning, world!"
  • "Rowan and Martin's jokes."
  • The musical "The One and Only Genuinely Original Family Orchestra."

All of her first projects won the love of the public and film critics. The audience liked the girl’s pretty appearance. In her youth, Goldie Hawn was a real beauty: blond curls, blue eyes and a brilliant smile.

From 1969 to 1975, the filmography of the aspiring actress was replenished with seven new films. But she became especially popular after starring in the movie “Cactus Flower.” For her work in this film she received two of the most prestigious awards:

  • "Oscar".
  • "Golden Globe".

Despite the fact that later Goldie was nominated for various awards more than once and actively starred, the film “Cactus Flower” is still considered her most successful work.

In the seventies, Hawn's career took off sharply. She actively acted in film and her list of works was replenished with the following films:

  • "Butterflies are free."
  • "Private Benjamin."
  • "Shampoo".
  • "The Duchess and the Dirty Fox."
  • "Bird on a Wire"
  • “Travel with Anita” and others.

During this period, she began to be considered one of the sexiest women on the planet . But since 1972, she gradually began to lose interest in filming. And later, the actress’s passion for big cinema was replaced by a passion for creating and maintaining a home. As a result, Goldie began to act in films very little.

During the 80s, her most significant works were:

  • "Extra shift."
  • "Protocol".
  • “Overboard” (a joint project with common-law husband Kurt Russell).
  • "Wild cats"

In 1985, Goldie Hawn appeared on the cover of Playboy magazine, which caused a great stir among her fans.

In the 90s and 2000s, the actress returned to filming. In 1992, she starred in the film Death Becomes Her alongside Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis. In 1996 - “The First Wives Club” with Bette Midler, and in 1999 - “The Comers” with Steve Martin. Three years later, the actress could be seen teaming with Susan Saradon in the film “The Banger Sisters.”

The actress’s works were in great demand and success, so they were even professionally translated into other languages, including Russian.

Then Goldie again had a long break from work; the next time she starred in a movie was only 15 years later. She took part in the comedy film “Her Daughter and Her Mother” along with Amy Schumer. This was not Hawn’s most successful role, and for it she even received an anti-award nomination.

During the break, Goldie wrote an autobiographical book, “A Lotus Sprouts from the Mud,” which was published in 2005. She periodically appears on various television shows on American television channels. For example, Ellen DeGeneres, where she came with her daughter.

Goldie Hawn - personal life

The actress’s personal life was not as smooth as her career. Goldie first married at the age of 24 to actor Gus Trikonis, who, during a divorce after seven years of marriage, demanded $75 thousand from the actress. The second marriage also failed. After her divorce from Bill Hudson, who inherited Goldie's house in Malibu, she was left alone with two children. And in 2011, Bill Hudson released a book about life with Goldie Hawn called You're a Star: How to Deal with Fame, Passion, and Start a Family.

But still, the actress found her happiness. Since 1983, she has been living in a civil marriage with actor Kurt Russell. Kurt and Goldie have known each other since they were sixteen. It is believed that their romance began on the set of the comedy “Overboard,” but it began earlier, when they starred together in the film “Changing Partners in the Rhythm of Swing.” Their family has four children: Kate and Oliver (from Goldie’s second marriage), Boston (Kurt’s son from his first marriage) and their common son, Wyatt, born in 1986. Goldie's daughter from her first marriage, Kate Hudson, a famous actress, treats Kurt like her own father. Kurt and Goldie consider the secret of their relationship to be the fact that they are not married.

In 2005, Goldie Hawn released her autobiography, A Lotus Sprouts from the Mud. The actress admitted that the title of the book was influenced by a meeting with a Tibetan monk. Goldie Hawn is an ardent adherent of Buddhism and says she raised her children guided by Eastern philosophy. “Buddhism is the main drug of my life,” admits the star.
