Kristina Kosheleva is a young but incredibly talented singer. Participant of the “Songs” project on TNT. Already at the first casting, the girl amazed the producers with her unusual vocals. Maxim Fadeev did not hide his enthusiasm for her. As a result, the girl ended up on his team. And after the start of the reality show, viewers became even more enamored with Christina. Despite dozens of cameras around, she remained sincere and real.

On TNT, the “SONGS” show, the channel’s largest musical experiment, is coming to an end. His goal is ambitious - TIMATI and Maxim Fadeev announced that they were going to create a new show business. The youngest of the finalists, 19-year-old Kristina Kosheleva, captivated Fadeev at the start with her unique voice with a characteristic split, and closer to the middle, the audience also conquered her: the song “No More Strength” stayed in first place for almost two weeks in the top chart of the Russian iTunes and Apple Music. In an interview for modernrock.ru, she spoke about her impressions of working with famous producers and participating in a big project.
Do you think participation in the “SONGS” project and the opportunity to work with Maxim Fadeev is a great success?
Of course, this is a great success that a huge number of people around the world dream of. The fact that we had the opportunity to work with this person is simply amazing.
How did your family react when they found out that you passed the auditions?
Everyone was very happy, and I can say that this brought our family together very much. Everyone understands what a chance I had.
You have the most powerful vocals with splitting. With him you could easily sing in some alternative band. What do you think about it?
I sang in different groups, and we performed alternative music, but then I didn’t split my voice. Now I think it's more interesting for me to sing solo.
Tell us about the song “No More Strength.” It seems that at the concert you sang it with different emotions, different from those that were felt in the studio recording. How differently did you experience the song in the studio and on stage?
On stage, I got used to the role and felt the song itself. The whole atmosphere around me contributed to my performing it so emotionally.
Continuing the conversation about the song “No More Strength”: it took first place in the top charts of Apple Music and iTunes for almost a week, and now continues to remain in the top ten. How do you feel about this?
I am very happy and would never have thought that this could happen to me in my life. There was a moment at the concert when, during a pause, people began to perform this track. They knew all the words and it was amazing. Many thanks to the MALFA team, because this is a label song, and I put my energy into it.
You performed in duets with Maxim Svoboda and Rodion Tochkin. How was the chemistry created between you?
My very first number was with Rodion, when we still didn’t know each other well and were just taking a closer look at each other. It was still easier for me to work with Maxim, because we created “Girl with a Bob” together, and it was easier for us to live this song on stage.
Is it difficult for you to build communication with project participants, or did good relationships with the team develop immediately and by themselves?
Everything turned out well by itself. We immediately found a common language with each other. My closest friends are Maxim Svoboda, Soufee and TERRY.
On the project you performed songs in different genres. Which one of them coincided most with the real you?
“No More Strength” was closest to me. That’s probably why everyone liked it so much, because I was able to let it pass through me.
Your image has changed noticeably after the start of the project - now it is carefully thought out by stylists and producers. How far are you ready to go in change, and are there any things that are unacceptable to you?
I’m not ready for radical experiments with my appearance.
How much does your current image, so similar to Mathilde from the film Leon, really convey your character?
Now I look like a little girl. In my opinion, the kind of person I was is still the same.
Tell us about your musical idols. What kind of music do you listen to and what inspires you?
I love the band Coldplay: they create very cool music. Lately I've been inspired by Natalia Sikora, who also splits her voice, and it's incredible.
Who, in your opinion, is the most professional artist on the Russian stage at the moment?
In my opinion, Nargiz is a very professional person in this field. She definitely knows her business and puts her soul into it. When she sings, I get goosebumps and I dream of singing a duet with her.
Childhood and youth
Kristina was born on October 17, 1999 in the city of Sysert, in the Sverdlovsk region. She started studying music at the age of 6. Her parents took her to an extracurricular activity center, where she became a member of the vocal group “Karapuz” under the direction of Olga Sergeevna Demenshina. Later the team became known as “Tonika”.

Christina sang in this vocal studio for 11 years. Together with the group, she constantly performed at city events, went to music festivals and competitions, where she repeatedly became a winner. Later she took lessons from a private teacher.
Kosheleva is the owner of an unusual voice. The girl masters the cleavage technique, which was immediately noted by producer Maxim Fadeev. But Christina doesn’t know how to read music, since she didn’t study at a music school.

After school, the young singer entered the Ural State University of Architecture and Art at the Faculty of Industrial Design. Christina draws superbly, which she has already demonstrated on the reality project “Songs”.
The girl drew a small portrait of one of the participants, Diana Vidyakina. And when the presenter of the TV project, Ekaterina Varnava, saw the drawing, she immediately asked Christina to portray her too. Despite her vocal success, Kosheleva does not plan to leave the university; education is of great importance to her.

Kristina Kosheleva is a simple girl. She was born on October 17, 1998. Hometown: Sysert in the Sverdlovsk region. Since childhood, she studied vocals, wrote songs, and performed on behalf of the music school at city and regional concerts. By the way, Christina had her own group as a teenager - Karapuzy. This fact was the reason that Christina applied specifically to the Faculty of Design. He studies at the State Architectural School in the city of Yekaterinburg.

The university quickly learned about Christina's excellent voice. She was awarded prestigious awards at the university meeting “Golden Ratio”. Next, the girl went to the “When We Are Together” festival. But she did not rest in Sochi, but established contacts with eminent teachers, theater presenters, and music label owners. The girl won the competition and received the Grand Prix.

Perhaps, for Christina, the vocal show “Songs” on TNT is the first serious step in her song career. She accidentally saw Timati’s post on Instagram about the upcoming casting for a new project. Acceptance of applications for auditions lasted only 5 days.

The girl demonstrated her talent at a casting in Yekaterinburg: first she sang the song acapella, then to a prepared backing track. The girl was invited to the selection in Moscow, which was supposed to take place directly with the participation of the main mentors and producers of the project - Maxim Fadeev and Timati.
Christina presented Felix Buxton’s composition “Good Luck” to their judgement. And if at first Fadeev was surprised to learn that the girl was 19 years old (after all, Kosheleva could easily be given as 15), then after her performance he was completely fascinated by the young singer. Both Timati and guest judge Vera Brezhneva praised her vocals. Everyone noted her memorable timbre.

In each subsequent stage, she only confirmed her talent. No less impressively she performed the song of the group “SLOT” “Circles on the Water”. Kristina made it into the project and was chosen to join the team by Maxim Fadeev.
However, “Songs” was not limited to just big concerts on weekends. The selected participants ended up in a reality show, where they are under the guns of video cameras 24 hours a day. The guys lived in the Mercury tower in Moscow City. They have no connection with the outside world; their phones were taken away on the first day. After leaving Fadeeva’s team, Kosheleva took up her studies and continued her musical career. Unfortunately, due to her lack of vocal skill, Christina's attempts to sing in an "extreme" manner will soon lead to either problems with her vocal cords or a loss of public interest.
In the “Information” column on the VKontekte page, where fresh photographs of the singer regularly appear, it is written that she has a unique timbre and uses a “special” splitting technique (in Russian, this is “a voice with a hoarseness”). Alas, the only peculiarity of Kosheleva's cleavage is that she does not own it, and her vocals look pathetic in comparison with trained singers. It is enough to compare her performance of the song “Circles on the Water” and Stavrovich’s performance on “Voice-5”. The young singer is dating Sergei Moskvin. The guy is from Yekaterinburg, he is 2 years older than Christina. They have been together for several years. Sometimes the girl posts photos of them together on Instagram.

So far, the aspiring singer does not have her own albums or videos, but Christina’s fans are confident that she has everything ahead of her.
