She never specifically looked for a man. She is not a superstitious person, but she tries to perform all the prescribed rituals. She is sure that if she is destined to play three great roles, she will definitely play them. She blossomed after the birth of her daughter. She stopped being afraid of men and became more at ease in communicating with them. And this was after she went through a very painful divorce, during which Irina Pegova’s husband (who will be discussed below) did not behave quite like a man. But Ira did not despair and believes that her beloved and dear person is walking somewhere.
What to choose?
As a schoolgirl, Ira got into one of the competitions that was organized for children. Moreover, she performed so interestingly and brightly that she began to think about becoming a singer. The girl even entered a music studio. The team she joined not only performed at regular concerts, but also went on tour and worked in a professional studio.
After graduating from school, Pegova decides not to traumatize her parents with her ideas and enters the Polytechnic Institute. And only then she becomes a student at a theater school. The theater-studio of Pyotr Fomenko arose in her life when Ira was a second-year student. Showing the prepared sketches to the master along with other students, Irina attracted his attention. The girl’s talented performance was praised, which pushed Irina to the idea that now she simply must become an actress and study only at GITIS.
And so it happened. Despite the somewhat thorny path to realizing her dream, Pegova was accepted into the directing department. True, Irina, a native of the Gorky region, had to save money for this trip to Moscow for a very long time (in the evenings she worked as a cleaner at a school).
Debut in theater and cinema, subsequent works
In the second year of the new millennium (2001), Irina Pegova, whose filmography will now expand at incredible speed, became part of the Pyotr Fomenko Workshop troupe. In the very first weeks, she was introduced to several performances - “Wolves and Sheep”, “Barbarians”, “War and Peace”. And no matter what role she got - a maid or a wealthy lady, she turned out each one very talented. And the role of Sonya in the production of “Uncle Vanya” brought a nomination for the “Golden Mask”.
Then came 2002, a fertile year for her. Irina began acting in films. The role of a veterinarian in the film “Spartak and Kalashnikov” was her successful debut. And next year the aspiring actress is invited to shoot in the film “Walk” directed by Alexei Uchitel. The heroine Olga made Irina, if not yet famous, then very famous among a wide audience. This time, the rightfully deserved award was the “Golden Eagle”.
Now offers for filming rained down on Irina like from a cornucopia. She chose Teacher’s film “Space as a Premonition” and again made the right decision: in 2005, at the Moscow International Film Festival, the film was recognized as the best and received two Golden Eagles and two Nicks.
After Pegova, she starred in other, no less interesting films - “Admiral”, “Love with an Accent”, “Moscow Fireworks”, “Fairy Tale. Eat"…
Irina Pegova - about life in cinema and about cinema in her life
Honored Artist of Russia Irina Pegova has just returned from Minsk, where the continuation of the series “Midwife” was filmed. Today she is visiting the “UNION”.

PHOTOXPRESS - Ira, many people dream of becoming an artist in childhood...
- But I dreamed of becoming a singer. Both my mother’s and my father’s relatives were musical. We lived in Vyksa, but our parents were from the village. Like a feast, they sing, they go to haymaking, they sing, they reap the harvest, they sing again. On my father’s side we also played harmonicas and balalaikas. Mom worked at a metallurgical plant, dad was a sports coach.
— Were there any idols?
— Edith Piaf, Michael Jackson. Pugacheva inspired me to perform solo in front of my relatives. I made three tails on my head and announced: “The three-tailed Alla Pugacheva is performing!” I came up with the image myself.
Already at drama school I realized that I was a character artist. No one else on the course had such a profile; I was classified as a “girl from the people.” Once upon a time, director Pyotr Fomenko came to the Nizhny Novgorod school. He looked at our course and drew attention to me. I'm generally lucky with people. That same summer I went to take a course with him at GITIS. And it was accepted.
— Did you feel complex about the extra pounds?
— At the acting department, for the first time I began to worry about extra pounds. When I was a child in the village, my grandmother would put a frying pan with fried potatoes on the table in front of us and not control who ate how much. I've tried every diet in the world! Even extreme fasting, when you spend seven days on distilled water alone and lie in a cool bath for half an hour a day to tighten your skin. The experiments turned out to be extremely beneficial for the student's wallet, but harmful to health. I learned to quickly lose a couple of kilograms, but they came back just as quickly. With age I have become wiser: you shouldn’t live in a constant struggle with yourself. You need to accept and love yourself for who you are.
— You became famous after “The Walk” by Alexei Uchitel.
— This was the first leading role, and with a huge amount of text. With Pavel Barshak and Evgeny Tsyganov, who were in love with my heroine, we were classmates at GITIS. The teacher forbade us to discuss the characters in advance, since he planned a live, unrehearsed movie; he wanted us to meet only on the set.
— How did the role of a “typical Russian woman” “stick” to you?
— After giving birth, I was offered only the roles of heroines with a difficult fate. It apparently began with a successful image in the TV movie “Varenka”. No matter what casting I went to, I always heard: “No makeup needed, don’t let your hair down.” When I got pretty tired of it, I cut my hair in a crew cut, like when I was a child.
— In the fantasy comedy “SuperBeavers-1” and “SuperBeavers-2. People's Avengers" What is more - action or drama?
— We followed the Hollywood path, when in the second part the antagonists become even cooler. So in the first part we didn’t have any villains, but in the second there are two of them.
— Tell us about the stunts and special effects.
— If in the first part I was in limbo on the set and was out of breath all the time, then in the second I just... flew in the circus. Such scenes require more takes, and besides, the shooting took place in the summer, in the thick of it. We filmed in the south - in Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk. Then they even flew to Thailand: in the story, the characters perform in a local circus. In general, pyrotechnics, a lot of smoke and explosions. I admit that acting in heroic films is very difficult.
— During filming, Vladimir Tolokonnikov, who played Pavel Grigorievich, passed away.
— I am grateful to fate that we were able to work together with Vladimir Alekseevich. He was a very smart and understanding person, touching, funny and ironic, and maintained a light atmosphere on the set. He always exuded positivity. During filming, the director received a call and was informed that he had passed away. And we only shot one third of the film. Nevertheless, the director and producer decided to continue making films in honor of him. Surprisingly, we had to film the scene in which the grandfather dies the very next day after the actor’s death. By the way, producer Vitaly Shlyappo is Belarusian, and director Dmitry Dyachenko shot the Belarusian “Kitchen”.
— Tell us about your new works.
— Filming of the series “Midwife-2” has completed in Belarus. The first few shifts took place in the suburbs of Minsk, in a small village. The plot is still centered on the story of the talented doctor Tatyana Skvortsova, whom I play. The head doctor of the maternity hospital, Tatyana Skvortsova, seems to have achieved everything a woman can dream of - a successful career, an adult daughter and a beloved man (played by Vladimir Epifantsev). And so a woman with a severe hypertensive crisis ends up in the maternity hospital, ready to die for the sake of the child. Tatyana promises her that everything will be fine, there have been and will not be deaths in her maternity hospital...
— Who are your partners?
— My “daughter” is played by Valentina Lyapina, with whom we just finished filming in another project, where we also played mother and daughter.
— Where else did you film?
- In the drama “Godunov”, the comedies “Crimean Sakura” and “Call Myshkin”.
— The series “Godunov,” one of the most ambitious projects of this year, has just been released.
— Costumes for the actors took more than eight months to sew. In total, the series features more than 200 characters. In addition to Sergei Bezrukov, Andrei Merzlikin, Anna Mikhalkova, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Sergei Makovetsky take part in the series... The plot of the series “Godunov” is based on real historical events and covers the period from the death of Ivan the Terrible to the beginning of the reign of Mikhail Romanov.
— Who is the director of the series?
— Andrey Andrianov, known for his latest work - the series “Sofia”.
— Who did you play?
- The last wife of Ivan the Terrible - Maria Naguya. Ivan the Terrible had many wives; historians are still arguing about how to count them and which ones can be called “full-fledged” and which ones are not. The last wife of Ivan the Terrible, Maria Nagaya, eventually became an important figure in our history.

Better quality, not quantity
Now the bar for her skill has been raised too high. And there is no doubt about this. Irina Pegova can afford to choose her roles. She almost never agrees to appear in TV series. There are only a few exceptions - the series based on the works of Tatyana Ustinova “A Special Purpose Friend” and “The Law of Reverse Magic” (Irina Pegova’s husband then shared the set with her), the television project “Spas under the Birches”, the series “Zoya”.
There was one more work in her creative biography - the television series “Masha in Law”, in which she simply could not refuse to participate. Even in an interview, Irina said that before that she had always played exclusively positive, balanced ladies. And here she was almost herself - alive, quickly making decisions where necessary - persistent and resilient. And Pegova was delighted with the script. And in 2016, comedies with her participation were released: “Super Beavers,” in which Irina starred as Rita, a flying accountant, and “Good Boy,” where Pegova vividly played the wife of the school director and Ksyusha’s mother, Maria Dronova.
Irina Pegova: films, filmography. Biography: main roles 2000-2010
Who doesn't know this girl? Pegova Irina Sergeevna, whose filmography is steadily growing, is today a fairly well-known and sought-after actress. But she started getting leading roles in films back in the 2000s. It all started with the film “Walk”, in which the actress played Olga and received the Golden Eagle Award for her work.
In 2005, together with the young Evgeny Mironov, Evgeny Tsyganov and Elena Lyadova, Pegova played the main role in the drama “Space as a Premonition”. In the same year, the young woman again turned out to be the central character, but on the set of the film “Girlfriend of Special Purpose.”
In 2006, the two-part melodrama “Varenka” was released, in which Pegova again played the main character. The story of Varenka, who has to overcome many difficulties in her life, turned out to be quite popular among the female audience, so two more seasons of the series were released in 2009 and then in 2010.
Pegova also played the main role in the film-play “The Little Humpbacked Horse.”
Sad outcome
Their scandalous divorce attracted public attention for many months. Pegova Irina Sergeevna, whose husband longed to divorce her, was very worried about this period of her life. Firstly, the family she had built bit by bit was collapsing. Secondly, with his desire to separate, Dmitry Orlov undermined his wife’s faith in people in general and in men in particular. Irina Pegova’s husband (photos from the family archive used to often appear on the pages of glossy publications) preferred the division of common property and their only daughter Tanya to a quiet life.
Moreover, if Irina did not give any interviews about the current situation, Orlov constantly made accusations that it was his wife who was to blame for the collapse of their happy marriage and forbade him to see Tanechka. And it all started so beautifully...
Irina Pegova's ex-husband - Dmitry Orlov
Irina Pegova’s ex-husband, Dmitry Orlov, is a famous actor, a good director and a talented screenwriter. Married to Irina, they lived in perfect harmony. Dmitry repeatedly said that Irochka was the best thing he had and he was simply lucky to be with such an excellent woman. But as often happens, people change and their family life goes wrong, nothing will be the same again.
At the moment, Dmitry Orlov is married again and is building a new family. But he still has warm and friendly feelings towards Irina, despite some grievances in the past. He sees his daughter regularly and supports her in all her endeavors.
Woman's happiness
They met at the Moscow Film Festival in Warsaw. True, Dmitry saw her a little earlier - in the play “War and Peace”. The beginning of the relationship between two young people was like a fairy tale. And if Ira almost instantly realized that it was Dima who was her destiny, then Orlov was in no hurry to fall in love, showing in every possible way that he was interested in Pegova insofar as. Later he said that he did this on purpose so as not to show his emotions and not to give Ira premature hope.
In the end, it was Ira who took the first steps. The young people got married after listening to the opinions of their relatives. They themselves were not going to put stamps, because they did not believe that love would become stronger from this. Soon their only daughter was born. In one of the interviews, which took place just in anticipation of the trial between the now ex-spouses, Pegova said that she unwittingly began to be more selective about scenarios after certain events in her life.
Once she played the role of a woman who could not get pregnant. Unexpectedly for herself, Irina Pegova, her husband, whose children had always interested TV viewers, found herself in the same situation after just six months. After the birth of their daughter, the couple thought about another child. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, Ira survived three unsuccessful attempts to carry the baby to term. The first time there was a miscarriage, the second time the fetus froze, the third time there was also a miscarriage. After this, the woman is afraid to agree to scenarios that describe such events.
Hopes for the future
Despite these difficult moments, the family was together. The spouses were considered one of the strongest and most friendly couples in Russian cinema. Irina Sergeevna Pegova was truly happy then. Personal life, her husband and daughter were in the first place for her, such a sought-after actress.
At that time, the couple did everything together - they worked, raised a child, went on vacation. They never got tired of spending time together. Irina Pegova’s husband, Dmitry Orlov, proudly told the whole world how lucky he was with such a wonderful wife: she is smart, beautiful, and an excellent mother. The young people even managed to build the house they dreamed of so much, so that a large and friendly family could live in it. Then they hoped for the birth of a second child.
That’s why the news came out of the blue that Ira and Dima were getting a divorce. But this happened seven years after the marriage. Tanya stayed with her mother.
The time of divorce was very difficult for Irina. But, unlike Orlov, who was now pouring buckets of dirt on his ex-wife right and left, she did not utter a word to the public, worrying about everything at home, behind a tightly locked door. This stress did not go unnoticed. True, there was also some advantage for the actress: Irina Pegova (personal, photos with her husband were now too exposed to the not always good-natured court of ordinary people) managed to survive morally and even lose weight significantly. Now, with her small height (only 1 m 56 cm), she began to weigh a little less than 60 kg.
Personal life of actress Irina Pegova
Journalists never left without attention and interest all the most personal and intimate things in the life of Irina Pegova. Since her student days and to this day, she has been credited with numerous affairs with stage colleagues and directors, but all this kind of information remained at the level of rumors, without finding confirmation.
Irina is a rather conservative and private person in these matters, and has never flaunted such things. As the actress says: “True happiness is something that is not spoken about out loud so as not to scare away. No matter what, I'm happy. I have achieved a lot, I have a healthy child, a job that inspires me and brings me money. I'm happy because the sun is shining. All this overall makes me happy. I enjoy the way I live."
Irina Pegova met her future husband at a film festival in Warsaw, the famous actor Dmitry Orlov. Irina came to the festival after finishing filming “The Walk.” Dmitry presented the film “Sky. Airplane. Young woman" .
After the end of the festival and the award ceremony, Irina and Dmitry returned home to Moscow. Warm and sincere feelings immediately flared up between the young people, and after a short time they decided to live together. The relationship was officially legalized on September 8, 2005. The next big step was the decision to have a child. A year later, the couple became happy parents. They decided to name their daughter Tatyana.
Journalists were indignant and delighted at the same time. This was the standard of family relationships, no matter from which side they looked. The couple treated each other very kindly. From one interview to another, Dmitry’s words were unchanged. He said that he was happy that he met a girl like Irina, and her appearance in his life was the best thing that could happen. This is not surprising, because Irina managed to do everything. To be a talented, versatile personality, a caring mother, a loving and understanding wife, a true friend and a good housewife.
The family idyll lasted exactly 7 happy years, after which the marriage broke up. At first, the former lovers spoke very categorically and negatively about each other. Most likely, this was due to the fact that Dmitry and Irina were unable to find a compromise on the division of jointly acquired property. After time, passions and disagreements subsided, and the couple were still able to maintain friendly relations.
Irina’s Instagram often features photos of her and her daughter together. Tanya followed in her mother’s footsteps and in 2012 starred with her in the film “Eight,” filmed under the direction of Alexei Uchitel.
After the divorce process, Irina decided to completely change and actively take care of herself. She took part in a project whose goal was weight loss. During her participation in “Star Hit”, the actress got rid of extra kg and at the moment, with a height of 155 cm, she weighs 63 kg. Despite significant weight loss, Irina managed to maintain a beautiful figure and a magnificent bust. Now she boldly wears clothes that highlight all her advantages. The topic of Pegova’s weight loss was actively discussed in the “Let Them Talk” program.
The next contender for the role of husband was professional stuntman Sergei Kempo. Irina met him in 2013, at that time he worked at the Ermolova Theater. The lovers were not at all embarrassed by the large age difference. To match her young boyfriend, the actress underwent several rejuvenation and restoration procedures.
The couple lasted only a year, and broke up in 2014. After this relationship, Irina radically changed her appearance, becoming blonde. At the end of 2014, Irina was invited to the “Evening Urgant” show.
Irina hid her relationship with her third chosen one from the public. He became 22 year old Evgeniy Raev. They met in 2020 on the show Dancing with the Stars. Pegova was first noticed in the company of a young man at the premiere of the film He-Dragon. After this, the couple began to appear together everywhere.
The story continues...
By the way, unlike Dmitry Orlov (Irina Pegova’s husband had already entered into a subsequent marriage with actress Ksenia Entelis), she was not noticed “in any defamatory relationships.” Although journalists attributed novels to her - either with the actor Sergei Kempo, who played in “Legend 17,” or with Evgeniy Raev, with whom she danced in the television project “Dancing with the Stars.” True, it was not possible to confirm these rumors with interviews or racy photographs.
No matter what happens, Irina Pegova lives alone with Tanyushka. Personal life, photos with my husband are a thing of the past. But this beautiful and wise woman is sure that somewhere out there, around the turn of fate, a real, all-consuming feeling awaits her. And then a new page in her story will begin.
