Irina Starshenbaum was born into a family of Moscow intellectuals. She studied at a simple school in the capital and showed creative abilities from childhood.
“In high school, I decided that I wanted to become an actress,” Irina later admitted in an interview, “and was going to take acting classes, but my school teacher dissuaded me. My parents also repeated that I should get a serious profession, because they believed that you couldn’t make money by acting.
In this case, I didn’t really understand where to go to study, because everything else was not interesting to me. But, on reflection, I chose a “mix” of advertising, PR and journalism. After school, the girl studied at the Faculty of Communications and Media Business at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts named after Ivan Fedorov. At the same time, she took courses in “Psychology through theater” at the capital’s University of Psychology and Pedagogy.
The artist’s attraction to psychology is hereditary: “My grandfather, Gennady Vladimirovich Starshenbaum, is a psychiatrist-psychotherapist of the highest category, a candidate of medical sciences, a very talented person. We have a genetic connection with him. The love for human psychology, consciousness, the unconscious - all this fascinated me with the help of my grandfather. He has his own psychology department. I thought about applying to him. He asked: “Do you want to become a psychologist?” I answered: “I don’t know yet...” He: “If you know, come.” And I took the course “Psychology through theater” to see if I wanted to be a psychologist. It turned out not. But the course impressed me.”

She finds herself in a completely different world - the world of beautiful, successful and wealthy people. But this world is also full of tragedy, love affairs, betrayals, suffering and cruel games...

As for the realities in which our heroes will be forced to find themselves, these are ordinary residential areas of Moscow: familiar high-rise buildings, streets, parks, sports grounds, clubs and garages. Thanks to the filming, I saw Moscow in a completely new way.”
