The worst day is Sunday, because there is no one to borrow money from. Our hostel was located in former barracks, where Austrian prisoners were kept during the First World War. These were two-story barracks next to the Rizhsky railway station, with barred windows that seemed about to fall apart from old age. However, in addition to the guys from the Moscow Art Theater School, a large number of students from schools named after Shchukin, named after Shchepkin, as well as GITIS lived here. And so we went to the commandant - she was a woman, and borrowed 25 rubles from her. With this money you could buy a pack of dumplings, a jar of cod liver (now a delicacy, but then the cheapest canned food), a loaf of black bread and a bottle of vodka. Soon young talented directors came to the theater: Anatoly Vasiliev, Joseph Raikhelgauz, Boris Morozov. Raikhelgauz began staging “The Grown-Up Daughter of a Young Man” by Viktor Slavkin. The Department of Culture really wanted to see these young people out of the theater. But since the artistic director of their course was the People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of various awards, communist Andrei Alekseevich Popov, it was oh so difficult to approach them. Nevertheless, they managed to fire Raikhelgauz. Vasiliev had to complete the production. Soon they “left” him too. Then Yuri Petrovich Lyubimov extended a helping hand. He invited Vasiliev to Taganka and suggested that he take 10 actors with him. Yura was one of them and worked there for some time. Without leaving the Stanislavsky Theater, I came to their rehearsals. Thus, a play based on Viktor Slavkin’s play “Sorso” was released.
— Do you think the Grebenshchikov phenomenon exists?
- Undoubtedly. Sometimes I watch videos of our performances with him. And I find falsity in almost everyone - I can’t see myself at all. The only one who doesn’t have this is Yuri. He was natural in everything and not the same. In general, authenticity is its purely Russian, national quality. If there was acting, it was in the soul, and not in facial expressions. I have never felt such a sense of truth in any of my partners. You could go on reconnaissance with him. He never pulled the blanket over himself. Being bright and expressive, he nevertheless gave all of himself, without sparing, to his partner. I remember the episode from “Grown-up Daughter”, when the lights were turned off (that’s how it was intended!) and he said: “Eh, guys, if only we could get together like this, meet and chat!” And Yura cried. Only I saw it. He did this not for the sake of the viewer (which can be discerned in complete darkness!), but because he lived without escaping from the role, from the state. This is a very rare trait.

— Was he worried about the fact that he was not as wildly popular in films as they were?
- I think so, although I didn’t show it. On the other hand, he succeeded as an actor. Grebenshchikov worked with one of the best theater directors in our country, Vasiliev, and was happy about it.
Love and family in the life of an actor
Kirill Grebenshchikov was not a loving heartthrob, so boasting of a large number of love interests is not his lot. While studying at the university, Grebenshchikov managed to start a family. His chosen one Olga later became his official wife. The students studied in the same course, and having become friends, fell in love with each other. Romantic meetings ended with a stamp in the passport: Kirill and Olya got married.

A strong loving family is his pride. My wife and I have been living together for more than 20 years. Unlike her star husband, she did not become an actress and did not connect her life with the art of cinema. But her profession is also associated with creativity: Olga Grebenshchikova writes poetry. Death
Yuri Grebenshchikov had many plans for his future life and work. But he didn’t have time to implement them.
On January 25, 1988, actors and representatives of the journalistic fraternity gathered in the capital’s WTO restaurant (on Pushkinskaya Square). They all celebrated the birthday of Vladimir Vysotsky. The event was attended by two people whose paths soon collided in a tragic way. One of them was Yuri Grebenshchikov, and the other was the poet Alexander Mezhirov. Each of them told the assembled people about their communication with Vysotsky.
When the event ended, everyone began to go home. Grebenshchikov went on foot. A few meters from the Sokol metro station, the actor was hit by a car. And the poet Mezhirov was driving.
Yuri Sergeevich was taken to the hospital named after. Burdenko. The best doctors of this institution fought for his life. But everything turned out to be in vain. On May 14, 1988, the artist died without regaining consciousness. A large number of people attended his funeral.
Actor Yuri Grebenshchikov found his last refuge at the Dolgoprudnenskoye (Southern) cemetery. Currently, a black granite monument is erected on his grave. Friends, relatives and fans of the artist do not forget about him. They regularly tidy up the grave and bring fresh flowers in odd quantities.

But soon something irreparable happened in the family of the future actor. His beloved father died, as a result of which all responsibility for the family fell on the shoulders of a 15-year-old teenager. According to the mother, the eldest son showed incredible responsibility, without which they would hardly have been able to cope with the crisis situation for the family.
Biography
Yuri Fedorovich Orlov was born on August 13, 1924 and spent his early childhood in a village in the Noginsky district of the Moscow region. In the village, from an early age, he saw the real life of the Soviet peasantry during the period of collectivization and dispossession. In 1931 the family moved to Moscow. His father died of tuberculosis in 1933[4][5].
Since 1941, he worked as a turner at the Ordzhonikidze machine tool plant. Participant of the Great Patriotic War, lieutenant[6]. In April-July 1943 he fought as part of the Steppe Front, and from July 1943 on the 2nd Ukrainian Front. On March 28, 1945, as the commander of the 592nd rifle platoon of the Szeged Regiment of the 203rd Zaporozhye Rifle Division, in the battle for the Czechoslovakian city of Nitra, he managed to seize the highway with a covert throw, destroying 3 enemy machine gun points in hand-to-hand combat. Orlov personally fired from a captured light machine gun, was slightly wounded, but after bandaging himself, he remained in service. Awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, second degree[6]. In April 1945 he graduated from the Smolensk Military Artillery School. He fought his way to Prague. After the war, he served in Mozdok as a control platoon commander[5].

Illness and death of Vera Orlova
