Musical creativity
My passion for music began at the typical age of 14. At first glance, everything developed as usual. Evgeniy played drums in the school ensemble. He studied at a music school, but then dropped out. As Evgeniy himself says, “dry academic approaches to such “subtle” matter as music were not close to his soul.” Evgeniy graduated from the Institute for Advanced Studies of Cultural Workers.
Evgeny Osin in the group “Father Frost”
Upon completion, he received a certificate of musical education, giving the right to work as the leader of an amateur ensemble in any cultural center. Evgeniy does not find anything wrong with the word “amateur activity”; he considers the word amateur activity to be identical to the word “independence.” By the word “professionalism” he understands, first of all, the technical ability of a musician to translate his plans into living reality.
In search of his own creative personality, in 1986 he created the group “Night Cap”, which he later renamed “Keks”, where he played guitar and performed vocal parts.
The search continued. Evgeniy played in the group “Nicholas Copernicus”, where he performed percussion parts. Then he moved to the Alliance group, playing drums.
In 1986-87 he worked under the auspices of the Moscow Rock Laboratory, where he also tried to find his creative self. In 1988, at the Stas Namin Center, he led the group “Father Frost”, where he performed vocal parts and was at the same time a showman.
The end of the 80s on the Russian stage, as many critics believe, was marked by the star of the Bravo group. It was its own special world, with its own signs of cultural and historical existence. Zhanna Aguzarova’s departure from the group came as a bolt from the blue.
Biography
The biography of Evgeny Osin began in Moscow on October 4, 1964. He grew up as a restless and curious boy. Since childhood, he was fond of playing various musical instruments. He was especially attracted to drums. He mastered them well by the age of 12. And at the age of 14 he successfully performed in the school ensemble.
Education was necessary for the further development of the musical biography of Evgeniy Osin. His parents understood this and sent the teenager to study musical notation in one of the best Moscow schools. However, the energetic Zhenya soon became bored with traditional lessons, and he dropped out of school.
After 10th grade, the young musician made a second attempt to get an education and entered the Institute of Culture. The Faculty of Amateur Directing warmly welcomed the talented Evgeny Osin, but the guy again did not like his studies. And he left the institute with a certificate. In fact, this was permission to work as the leader of a regional amateur ensemble.
In addition to music, Evgeny Osin was engaged in breeding pigeons. He kept the birds on the balcony. And he dreamed of building a big house with a dovecote. This hobby pushed Osin to the decision to become a vegetarian.
Video Evgeny Osin in the Bravo group
The first male soloist of the Bravo group immediately after the departure of Zhanna Aguzarova was Evgeny Osin, where he sang for two years. According to critics of those years, this was a successful period in the life of the group. In 1989, Evgeniy Khavtan met Valery Syutkin and chose him over Osin as a soloist.
After leaving Bravo, the search continued. Evgeniy created the group “Avalon”, in which he played guitar, sang and composed music and poetry. The group's repertoire included a lot of music of various styles from jazz to "heavy". Osin recorded the album “The Bright Path of Fire” with Avalon, which went almost unnoticed.
In 1991, he turned to the repertoire and style of the 1970s. In 1992 he released the album “70th Latitude”. It includes songs where romantic courtyard music is mixed with pop rhythms and the aesthetics of rock and roll of the 1960s. All instruments on the album were live, and most of the musicians were female. The album is a resounding success, more than half of the songs from it became hits.
– I sang romantic songs by non-professional authors that no one wanted to release. All my compositions can be compared to home songs with a guitar. These are things that touch because they are written from the heart. Nowadays there are a lot of corrupt authors who write to order. All their writings are about nothing, just rhyming phrases. My songs may not be very literate, but they are real.” However, not all the songs were written by non-professional authors: the author of the lyrics of the song “The Girl is Crying in the Machine Gun,” which became the main hit of the album, was Andrei Voznesensky, and the composer of the song “Portrait of Pablo Picasso” was the Polish pianist and composer Wladyslaw Szpilman (Roman Polanski’s film “The Pianist” “exactly about him,” recalled Evgeniy Osin.
In 1994, the recording of the album “Evgeniy Osin in Rossiya” took place at the Rossiya State Central Concert Hall.
In 1996, the album “Working on Mistakes” was released, and in this album Osin also appears as a composer who successfully works in the traditions of the music of the 1960s and 1970s. The main hit of the album was the song “Kachka”.
On June 10, 1996, at a concert in Rostov-on-Don, held as part of the election campaign, during a performance by Yevgeny Osin and his group, Russian President Boris Yeltsin came on stage and danced with the musicians. An Associated Press photographer's photograph of the event won a Pulitzer Prize. The author of this famous photograph later said: “I liked that there was some kind of correspondence between Boris Nikolaevich and the two girls dancing on stage. There was also Osin on the left, but I decided that he was of no use and cut him off.”
After “Working on Mistakes,” Osin begins to record a new album, but the creation process takes a very long time (during all this time, only one song “Tanya plus Volodya” is released), and the new album “Birds” was released only in 1999. The album devotes little space to the old yard lyrics: now the compositions are more energetic, even danceable, and unlike previous albums with live instruments, computers were used in the recording.
In the 1990s, Osin often toured Russia and abroad, performing songs live (as part of a group of ten people, eight of whom were on stage). He also starred in television programs and released more than ten video clips.
Evgeny Osin, family, wife, children, cause of death: personal life
Considering the artist’s personal life, one cannot help but mention his wife Natalya. The young people met while the woman was still married. But this did not stop them from starting a relationship and consolidating it with marriage.
In 2002, Evgeniy and his wife had a daughter, Agnia. The singer wrote many poems and songs for her. Osin tried to spend all his free time with his family.
With the beginning of the 2000s, Aspen’s career began to decline. The musician still worked hard, but he could not achieve his former popularity. Evgeniy increasingly drowned his depression in alcohol, the family broke up, his wife forbade him to communicate with his daughter.
In 2010, in order to see Agnia, Osin got a job as a music teacher at the school where she studied. The singer even created a children's group, “Chips,” in which his daughter played drums. “I worked at school for almost five years,” Evgeniy recalled. - This is a good experience for me. I studied the psychology of children in full, I understood how to communicate with them. I had both high school students and teenagers. They paid twenty-five thousand rubles a month.” But soon the ex-wife transferred her daughter to another school and Osin’s teaching career ended.

In the late 1990s - early 2000s, Osin began collaborating with young performers (including rappers), starring in many videos, as well as projects, such as, for example, “Old songs about the main thing.” In 2000, the album “Golden Collection” was released, and the next year two albums at once - “Bagel and Loaf” (containing children's songs) and “All the same girls” (most of the songs of which were written by businessman Ildar Khairullin). Both albums were not successful.
In 2003, two collections by Osin were published - “In the Mood for Love” and “Star Series”.
In 2005, Osin voiced the singing of Lev Malinovsky (actor Valery Garkalin) in the film “Popsa”.
In 2009, the second album of children's songs, “Bagel, Loaf and Bagel,” was released. It also included songs performed by other artists, and the composition “Alphabet” was performed by Evgenia’s daughter Agnia.
Family and children of Evgeniy Osin
In 2002, a remarkable event happened in the life of Evgeny Osin - he became a father. The birth of his daughter Agnia inspires the singer to create children's songs and write poetry. In those years, the family and children of Evgeniy Osin, care for them and love became the main thing for him. The singer devotes all his free time to them. All together they go on vacation at the seaside, play together, and go out into nature.
The daughter grew up, and Evgeniy’s alcohol addiction grew along with her. Tours, groupies, wild life - resulting in family quarrels. Osin could not save his family. In 2006, Natalya takes her daughter and leaves him.
Health problems
He suffered from alcohol addiction, which he struggled with until the last days of his life. In July 2020, Osin told the media that his legs had failed due to problems with his spine and that he had no money for treatment. However, this information has not been confirmed. On August 15, 2017, Evgeniy Osin left home in an unknown direction. Three days later, the singer’s sister contacted the police to report the artist missing. On August 18, it became known that he was in an alcohol addiction treatment center in Thailand, where he was placed on the initiative of friends.
Evgeniy Osin, family, wife, children, cause of death: being treated for alcohol addiction
Singer Evgeny Osin had cirrhosis of the liver and nervous exhaustion, he felt very bad, said producer of the group “Tender May” Andrei Razin.
In August of this year, a source in the volunteer organization involved in the search for the singer said that he was placed in a rehabilitation center for the treatment of alcohol addiction, this was done at the suggestion of his friends.
“Zhenya felt very bad; he had cirrhosis of the liver and nervous exhaustion. He constantly complained that his legs were losing weight; a month ago he was in the clinic. The riotous lifestyle he led for many years led to a tragic ending. Today my sister called him, didn’t get through, went to Zhenya, opened the house, and he was there... He died alone, he didn’t even have anyone to turn to,” Razin said.
Road accident
On May 22, 2020, the media reported that Evgeny Osin was involved in an accident. A few days earlier, he was driving to the traffic police on a newly purchased motorcycle, intending to register it. Not far from his home, he lost control and fell off his motorcycle at a turn, which then crushed his leg. Arriving doctors provided first aid and diagnosed a broken toe, but Osin refused to be transported to the hospital to apply and fix a splint and left on a motorcycle, as he intended to register the vehicle at all costs that day. According to an eyewitness who called an ambulance, the singer was absolutely sober. On July 27, 2020, the media reported that Osin was selling an apartment.
Childhood and adolescence
Evgeny Osin was born on October 4, 1964 in the family of bus driver Victor. It is known that the head of the family was a Seventh-day Adventist, perhaps it was because of his religious views that he divorced his wife when Zhenya was 9 years old. The boy decided to stay with his mother, and he and his younger sister Albina moved to an apartment in Tekstilshchiki, on Lyublinskaya Street. My father moved to Cherepovets and headed the local sect.
Evgeny Osin in childhood
Osin studied at school No. 188. Among Zhenya's childhood hobbies were pigeons - together with a friend, they kept birds on the balcony - and music. Already at the age of twelve, he mastered the drums and two years later began playing drums in a local school ensemble. For some time he even tried to study at a music school, but the classical and sometimes even boring classes very quickly tired of the young guy.
The area where Evgeniy Osin spent his youth was quite crime-prone. Residential buildings were surrounded by dormitories, factories and vegetable warehouses. Evgeniy spent his leisure time with his courtyard friends in the same way: they drank port wine, strummed the guitar, and flirted with girls. After eight years of school, Evgeniy entered a sewing technical school as a mechanic, but never thought about working in his specialty.
In 1986, he gathered around himself a small group of musicians, which soon turned into the Nightcap group. The group performed under this name for some time, and then carried out a “rebranding” and became known as “Keks”. It is quite remarkable that it was in this ensemble that Evgeniy first tried on the role of frontman. He played guitar and also sang lead vocals.
In creative search
Also in 1986, Osin began actively collaborating with the Moscow Rock Laboratory, and some time later performing with two new groups - the groups “Nicholas Copernicus” and “Alliance”. However, in these ensembles Evgeny Osin no longer occupied such a significant place, permanently remaining in the supporting roles.
Evgeny Osin in the group “Nicholas Copernicus” (2nd from right) In 1988, Evgeny Osin became the leader of the group “Father Frost”, which operated under the Stas Namin Production Center. But the musician did not stay long in this group either. And a few months later he migrated to the group “Bravo,” which was popular at that time, which only recently left the leading soloist Zhanna Aguzarova.
Evgeny Osin in his youth For several months, Osin took part in the touring activities of the group “Bravo” as a soloist and even starred in a video prepared specifically for the new album “Let’s say “Bravo!” to each other.” But in the end, he left the band soon enough - the band’s frontman Evgeniy Khavtan met Valery Syutkin and offered him the position of lead singer. The material recorded with Osin was never officially presented to the public, but clips with his participation can be found on the Internet. “Bravo” with Evgeny Osin, 1989 In the early 1990s, Evgeny Osin created his own musical group - the Avalon group. In this ensemble, the musician again took on all the most important functions, acting as a soloist, guitarist, and also the author of most of the songs. It is very noteworthy that the repertoire of this group consisted of songs written in a variety of genres, from jazz to hard rock. With this group, Evgeny Osin recorded and released the album “The Bright Path of Fire,” which was practically not noticed by the public.
