BIOGRAPHY
Ksenia Lukyanchikova was born in St. Petersburg. The girl’s father works in the municipal fire department, and her mother is a music teacher.
In high school, Ksenia stood out for her height, which even then was 177 centimeters. Friends strongly advised the girl to try her hand at modeling, but Ksenia had other plans - she dreamed of becoming a dentist. “It seemed to me that picking teeth was an extremely exciting activity. At three years old, I ate fish faster than my mother - I picked out all the bones in a few minutes. My mother, a music teacher, dreamed that I would also connect my life with music. And my grandmother, with whom they raised me together, generally prepared me for an international career. She taught etiquette in elementary school and said: “When you go to a reception with the Queen of England, how will you put down your fork and knife?” says the actress.
Ksenia studied vocals at Galina Vishnevskaya’s school, and in high school she went to the Rubicon theater studio for several years. The moment came when the girl clearly realized that she wanted to connect her life with the stage.
In 2020, Ksenia graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts (course of A.M. Zeland).
MOVIE
The actress made her film debut in 2020, playing the main role in the series “The Red Queen.” The plot centers on the life story of Soviet fashion model Regina Zbarskaya. There were many contenders for the role, but in the end they took Ksenia. And they set the condition that she needed to lose 15 kg. The actress recalls: “It was not in vain that, after looking at a hundred candidates for the role, they took me one hundred and first. I had heard before that I looked like Regina Zbarskaya, but before filming the series I knew nothing about her. The character of the heroine is my intuitive idea of what she could be like. I was influenced by the upbringing of the course master, images from books and films. That’s how the heroine turned out from the world and from my life experience. I in no way pretend that Regina Zbarskaya was exactly the kind of person we showed her in the series “The Red Queen”.
The actress says about her heroine: “I have always been attracted to the image of a strong woman. And Regina, on top of everything else, also existed in an eternal struggle with herself, she is both a very strong person and a very weak one. I was interested in playing this. Among other things, I understood perfectly well what responsibility I had, because this is a historical character. And I realized that it couldn’t be done badly, it had to be done one hundred percent. I want to believe that it worked out.”
Ksenia’s next work was the role of singer Fia in the mini-series “Uncut Pages” based on the detective story of the same name by Tatyana Ustinova.
In 2020, the Rossiya TV channel premiered the serial film “The Hornet’s Nest,” in which the actress played the role of Ksenia, one of the three daughters of Kira Maltseva. The film also starred: Maria Kulikova, Evgenia Simonova, Elizaveta Arzamasova, Irina Antonenko and others.

Fame came to the young actor in 2013, when the serial film “Molodezhka” was released. The role of Sasha Kostrov led Ivan to star status.

Ksenia prefers to spend her free time at home, next to her loved one. The girl loves watching movies, her favorite director is Quentin Tarantino. She admits: “Tarantino for me is simply the god of cinema. I dream of filming with him! I have never been a fan of any musical groups or anyone, only Tarantino and his works. My birthday is January 15th, and this year The Hateful Eight came out in theaters on the 14th. So my friends and I went to the cinema on my birthday. “I never considered myself beautiful, although I understood that I had regular facial features, and, of course, I noted male attention. At the age of fourteen I lined my eyes for the first time, and after the TV series “The Red Queen” I discovered that red lipstick really suits me. In general, I always tested experiments with appearance in public. You can’t call me shy.”
About favorite images
“In general, I really like to play some marginalized people. In my first year in theater, we had an exercise called “observation.” The master forced us to bring three or four such observations every day. Someone brought the so-called “chicks” with pouting lips, and I brought either a homeless person, or a drunk, or a grandmother who was fingering something with her hands. I once auditioned for the role of a drug addict for a project. Unfortunately, I was not accepted. But I would really like to play it: dark circles under the eyes, something unknown... I like unconventional images, and the weirder the better.”
About taboos in the profession
“Any role is a gift for an actor. But for the sake of the role, for example, I would never shave my head. And I wouldn’t pose naked. This is my little taboo. I recently watched the film “Wild Tales”, where the scene of the merger of a man and a woman was shown in a very interesting way. Everything was shot in the shadows and interspersed with shots of the wedding cake. Perfectly shot, and no naked bodies!”

The actress is fluent in English, she studied at a gymnasium with in-depth study of foreign languages, studied British English and a little French for ten years. In the future she plans to learn French and German. To film “The Red Queen,” in addition to losing weight, the actress had to endure other sacrifices—corsets that made her faint, aging makeup that really damaged her skin.
For “The Red Queen,” Lukyanchikova had to cut off 45 centimeters of her hair, and it was not easy. According to the actress, she will definitely never agree to shave to zero. She cannot perceive herself as bald, even if some eminent director invited her to play the role.
“Maybe this is my personal problem, but I’m not ready,” admits the actress. “There are a lot of proposals, and I still have to break one point in my taboo, but it will be beautiful, adequate, you will see everything. But I would like to keep my personal taboos to myself. I will write about them someday in my memoirs. Despite everything, I go to what is important, in battle all means are good, with the exception of immoral acts that violate the personal boundaries of other people,” admits Ksenia Lukyanchikova.
