Ksenia Entelis – biography, photos, films, personal life, husband, children, height and weight 2020

Biography of the actress

Ksenia Nikolaevna Entelis was born in Moscow in 1971. Her father, the famous feuilletonist and writer Nikolai Entelis, died quite recently, in 2020. He lived to be 90 years old. He gained popularity thanks to articles in the Krokodil magazine.

The heroine of our article herself admits that as a child she dreamed of becoming an archaeologist. But when I was a schoolgirl, I got into the experimental youth theater of the famous teacher and director Vyacheslav Spesivtsev. That's when everything changed for her. She found herself in the acting profession, and soon began acting in the children's film magazine “Yeralash” with Boris Grachevsky.

After receiving secondary education, she entered the Moscow Art Theater School and studied in Tarkhanov’s creative workshop. One of the teachers, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Vitaly Vilenkin, had a great influence on her. She was one of the most successful and outstanding students on the course. The management even decided to send her to courses at a musical theater school in Florida.

Ksenia Nikolaevna Entelis became a graduate of the Moscow Art Theater School in 1992.

Childhood and youth

The actress was born on January 18, 1971 in Moscow into the intelligent family of the writer Nikolai Entelis, who published in the Soviet satirical magazine “Crocodile”. Ksenia’s unusual surname comes from the ancient family of the Greek prince Nasi, who ruled on the island of Rhodes, which is often called the pearl of the Mediterranean.

As a child, the future screen star dreamed of becoming an archaeologist. Entelis often admitted in interviews that memories of the unrealizable profession of “treasure hunter” still cause a pleasant shiver in her hands.

Thanks to her mother, who took her daughter to the Vyacheslav Spesivtsev Youth Theater during her school years, the girl chose a different path and became interested in acting. Moreover, the future actress liked the classes in the creative circle more than the lessons at school: it was the work in the studio that took more time. Ksyusha studied 6 days a week, and on weekends the teachers gave tasks to the students so that they “wouldn’t be idle.”

She went to acrobatics, stagecraft and all kinds of rehearsals. As Entelis said, she had to get up at 7 am in order to be on time at the Youth Theater, the doors of which opened at 9:30. A visit to the creative studio developed the endurance of the future star, thanks to which Ksenia Nikolaevna can work with virtually no rest.

Entelis’s first debut work in front of director’s cameras was participation in the television magazine for children “Yeralash” under the direction of Boris Grachevsky. The young actress worked tirelessly, during filming she even forgot about food and a banal break, so much did Ksyusha enjoy participating in the children's comedy program.

After completing courses with Spesivtsev, Entelis went to the Moscow Art Theater School, where she studied in the workshop of Ivan Tarkhanov (son of the famous actor Mikhail Tarkhanov). One of Ksyusha’s teachers was Russian theater expert and doctor of art history Vitaly Vilenkin.

While studying at the studio, Ksenia also visited the state of Florida, where she attended a musical theater school. Subjects such as music theory, solfeggio, and the history of musicals were taught there.

At one time, Entelis was engaged in songwriting. The artist became interested in poetry in her youth, when she was in love. Her texts got to the composer Nikolai Parfenyuk, and he became interested in the actress’s work. Together they created the musical accompaniment for Elena Tsyplakova’s series “Striped Summer.” Entelis' original compositions were performed at one time by Nikolai Karachentsov, Dmitry Pevtsov, Sergei Chonishvili and others.

Theater career

The heroine of our article began acting professionally in the theater in her third year. Stein invited her to the Lenin Komsomol Theater to participate in the play “The Bremen Town Musicians.” At first she got the roles of animals, and then the Atamansha.

Having received an acting education, Ksenia Nikolaevna Entelis, whose photo is in this article, continued to work at Lenkom. True, she did not receive the main roles there; she mainly participated in crowd scenes, played minor characters, and embodied dance characters on stage. But at this time she showed herself in a new, unexpected way - as a songwriter for performances.

In 2002, she even released a disc called “Lenkom Theater Actors Sing,” on which songs based on the words of Ksenia Nikolaevna Entelis are performed by many famous domestic actors. Among them are Nikolai Karachentsev, Dmitry Pevtsov, Sergei Chonishvili, Alexander Lazarev.

Pevtsov liked these songs so much that he later released a solo album, “Moon Road,” in which Entelis wrote all the lyrics.

Actor career

While still a student, the girl impressed the director of the Lenkom Theater, Peter Stein, with her talent, who invited her to the play “The Bremen Town Musicians.” In 1992, the aspiring actress received her diploma and decided to continue working at the famous Lenkom. Despite her unconditional talent, Ksenia was never able to fully realize herself on this stage. Later she sadly admitted

In parallel with her performances on stage, Entelis often attended various castings, hoping to fulfill her old dream and become a famous actress. In the period from 1997 to 2003, she played minor roles in films that became famous. Her debut took place in 1997 in the Oscar-nominated film “The Thief” by Pavel Chukhrai, starring Vladimir Mashkov.

Ksenia could boast not only of acting talent, but also of abilities in the art of poetry. Even at the beginning of her work at Lenkom, she composed poems and song lyrics. In 2002, on the disc “Lenkom Theater Actors Sing,” songs based on Entelis’s poems were performed by Alexander Lazarev and Nikolai Karachentsov and Dmitry Pevtsov, the latter also used her lyrics for his solo album “Moon Road.”

Ksenia Entelis on the stage of the theater

In 2003, the actress made a difficult decision for herself to leave her native Lenkom forever, no longer hoping that local directors would still give her at least some significant role. The next place of work for Entelis was the Alexander Abdulov Enterprise Theater and film sets.

On the set, she worked with talented young actors, among whom it is worth noting Pavel Priluchny, Yevgeny Berezovsky and Agatha Muceniece.

The actress continued filming in TV series in subsequent years, starring in “The Exclusion Strip” (2014).

Farewell to Lenkom

Realizing that she had few prospects at Lenkom, Ksenia Entelis, whose biography is given in this article, went to Alexander Abdulov’s enterprise in 2003. It was easier to combine work in an enterprise with filming a movie. The heroine of our article began to appear on the screen in 2001.

At the same time, she began to take part in performances of the “Quartet I” project; she was invited there by one of the regular artists, Rostislav Khait.

Having said goodbye to Lenkom, Entelis began to act a lot in film and television projects. For example, in the unfinished series “Twin Twix” she played the main role of Rita. Mostly, domestic TV series brought her fame.

Moscow Art Theater School

Ksenia studied in the course of Ivan Tarkhanov, the son of the famous theater actor Mikhail Mikhailovich Tarkhanov. Among her teachers were outstanding masters, “the last of the Mohicans” of the old theater school. The future actress had a chance to talk with Vitaly Yakovlevich Vilenkin, who was very close to Mikhail Bulgakov.

As a student at the Moscow Art Theater School, Ksenia simultaneously received another education. Among other students, she was selected to study at a musical theater school in the US state of Florida. There, among other subjects, Ksenia studied the history of musicals, which were still little known in our country at that time.

Ksenia Entelis

Ksenia Entelis was born in Moscow in the family of the writer Nikolai Entelis, known for his political feuilletons published in Krokodil. The roots of such an unusual surname go back to the distant past. Xenia's ancestor was a certain Greek prince Nasi, who lived many centuries ago on the island of Rhodes and met many great people of his time. The actress says that, looking at photographs of family paintings by ancient artists, she discovered that she was very similar to a relative of that same prince...

Ksenia first came into contact with the acting profession during her school years thanks to her mother, who, having seen a report on TV about the experimental Youth Theater under the direction of Vyacheslav Spesivtsev, decided to send her daughter there. Ksenia recalls that she was interested in the theater: “To be honest, I never liked regular school. But here everything was different, and I am very grateful to the teachers: they taught us endurance. I remember when my girlfriends and I were filming “Jumble,” the director and assistants walked around and were surprised: just relax, finally, eat! To which we always answered that we were not tired. We are used to working hard. I got up at seven in the morning, I also lived far away then, I had to go to the center, classes began at half past eight. After lessons there is a lot more: acrobatics, acting, rehearsals... And so on six days a week. And on Sunday we were given a task so that we wouldn’t play the fool. So I’m as resilient as a circus horse: I can work until I fall.”

At the same time, during her school years, Ksenia Entelis made her screen debut. She took part in the filming of the popular children's film magazine “Yeralash”. All this together predetermined the future choice of profession. Although... Ksenia also had another dream - to become an archaeologist. “It was so interesting to me: excavations, shards, remains, blowing away specks of dust from all this,” recalls the actress. “My hands still shake when I think about it.” But now the train has already left, unfortunately...”

After studying with Spesivtsev, Ksenia Entelis entered the Moscow Art Theater School. She remembers the years she spent as the brightest part of her life.

In her third year at the Moscow Art Theater School, Ksenia Entelis was invited by Pyotr Aleksandrovich Stein to take part in the Lenkom Theater’s play “The Town Musicians of Bremen.” At first she danced there in the form of various animals. Then the actress was “promoted” to the role of chieftain. When Ksenia graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School in 1992, she remained to work at Lenkom.

On the stage of the star Lenkom, Ksenia Entelis was unable to fully realize herself. But she attracted attention as a talented songwriter of song tests. When Nikolai Parfenyuk started releasing the album “Lenkom Theater Actors Sing” in 2002, most of the songs were based on Ksenia’s poems. The disc was released and was a great success. Among the performers were Nikolai Karachentsov, Dmitry Pevtsov, Sergei Chonishvili, Victor Rakov, Alexander Lazarev. Ksenia Entnlis subsequently had the opportunity to work with Dmitry Pevtsov again when he recorded his solo album “Moon Road”. In addition, songs based on the poems of Ksenia Entelis were heard in the film “Striped Summer” directed by Elena Tsyplakova.

In April 2003, Ksenia Entelis left Lenkom. The reason was filming, which could not be combined with the schedule of performances. In addition, around this time, Alexander Abdulov invited her to his enterprise. Ksenia recalls: “I somehow very decisively, literally one day, left Lenkom. I’m still surprised how I did this. Now, when I look back, it seems to me that during those 12 years in the theater I simply slept and didn’t see anything around me. And when, fortunately, I opened my eyes, I realized that there was another world.”

In the Abdulov enterprise, Ksenia Entelis was involved in the performances “Everything Passes” (Lena), “Family Idyll” (Vika) and the already familiar “Musicians of Bremen” (Atamansha). She toured almost the entire country with performances, and made many tours abroad. Ksenia remembers working in the enterprise with pleasure. The enterprise team was wonderful. Ksenia had the opportunity to work with Sergei Nikonenko, Elena Proklova, Irina Alferova, Georgy Martirosyan, Andrey Panin, Alexey Maklakov, Irina Lachina. And the soul of the team was, of course, Alexander Abdulov himself.

Another page in the work of Ksenia Entelis was her participation in the performances of the Quartet “I” theater. She was invited by Vyacheslav Khait, whom they had known since their studies at the theater. In Quartet I, the actress first played the role of Ksyusha in the play Radio Day, and then the same role in Election Day.

Ksenia Entelis began actively acting in films after leaving Lenkom. As already mentioned, filming became one of the reasons for leaving the theater. Then the actress was offered the main role of Rita in the TV series Twin Twix. The project was very interesting, but, unfortunately, it was never completed. Then there were roles in the series: “Private Detective” (Olga Zarubina), “Gromovs” (Irina Sokolova), “Doomed to Be a Star” (stylist Vika).

In the historical series “Alexandrovsky Garden” (2005), which tells about the era of the 40s of the twentieth century, Ksenia Entelis appeared before the audience in the image of the singer Ruslavina. How gorgeous her heroine looked performing at a concert in the Kremlin! A long velvet dress, a braid over the head... And the romance performed by Ruslavina was voiced by the popular Russian singer Valeria.

What was unexpected for Ksenia was her approval for the role of assistant prosecutor Svetlana Shchukina in the series “Law and Order: Department of Operational Investigations.” Unexpected, because she had never played such characters before. Her heroine is a tough and indisputable person - the complete opposite of Ksenia herself. For the role I had to learn, or rather, cram, complex legal terminology. But it was worth it, because the actress herself considers working in “Law and Order” a gift from fate. The series was a success with viewers, and the first season was followed by filming of the second and third.

Ksenia Entelis got married for the first time immediately after graduating from school. The actress herself admits that back then she just wanted to be more mature, and her relationship with her husband was youthful. Four years later they separated.

Ksenia met her future second husband, musician of the Araks group Alexander, in Lenkom. They very soon realized that they were made for each other. Ksenia says: “We have incredible mutual understanding. In family life it is very important to be friends. Family is a lot of work. If you are bosom buddies, then you will live your whole life in love and romance. That's how it is with us. My husband did not make an official marriage proposal to me. Everything was without rings and flowers, we just agreed to get married. Now we have a wonderful son, Maxim.”

"Servant of the Sovereigns"

Entelis rarely appeared in feature films. One of her notable works was in the film “The Servant of the Sovereigns” by Oleg Ryaskov. This is a special genre of historical adventure cinema, in which much attention is paid to fencing matches and dynamically developing action.

Entelis plays a sutler. The events of the film unfold during the Northern War in 1709. The French king sends his messengers to Peter I and Charles XII to observe the warring monarchs and convey personal letters to them. Her husband Dmitry Orlov also plays a cameo role with Entelis.
