Little Lenochka Vodorezova was born on May 21, 1963 in Moscow. It was on this day that another bright star lit up, illuminating the sky with radiance.

Next, there was a fight for a prize from the Moscow News newspaper. Strong competitors took part in the competition, one of them was the American champion. Lena beats everyone and wins the first prize.
In 1976, the girl was entrusted with representing the country at the European Championships. The athlete amazed the audience and jury members with her cascade and triple sheepskin coat. This was a unique case in the entire history of figure skating. This was the first time such a trick had been performed. The judges sat stunned by what they saw. Unfortunately, Elena did not get first place then, but the whole world started talking about her.
Figure skating
At the age of 12, Elena won the national youth championship, then an international tournament for the prizes of the newspaper “Les Nouvelles de Moscou”, beating two dozen adult rivals, including all her compatriots. The victories allowed the young athlete to join the national team.

Elena, essentially still a child, for the first time in history performed three triple jumps in one program, a cascade of a double flip and a triple toe loop, and she was the first woman and man to do this.

In 1976, the figure skater won the championship of the Soviet Union and subsequently climbed to the top step of the podium four more times. An unprecedented technique for performing complex combinations allowed Vodorezova to rise from 13th place to the final 7th place at the World Championships in Tokyo. At the 1978 European Championships, the figure skater won the first bronze medal for Soviet single skaters.
Further triumphal march through the world ice arenas was stopped by the disease - rheumatoid polyarthritis. Added to the innate predisposition were activities in the cold, which ultimately played a fatal role. Elena had to go to the hospital three times a year. While undergoing treatment, Vodorezova got used to working through pain. Stanislav Zhuk conducted training in a gentle manner. And in 1982, the figure skater returned to the skating rink.
Elena won third place at the continental championship, in 1983 she moved up a notch, and also received a bronze medal at the World Championships.
