Margaery Tyrell
- The only daughter of Mace Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden, sister of Willas Tyrell, Ser Garlan Tyrell and Ser Loras Tyrell.
Events
Game of Thrones
Shortly before Robert Baratheon passed away, his brother Renly Baratheon contemplated a plan to marry him to Margaery, but after Eddard Stark refused to take Cersei's children hostage, Renly entered into an alliance with the Tyrells, cemented by the marriage between him and Margaery Tyrell of fifteen years.
Clash of Kings
After the death of Renly Baratheon, the Lannisters hastened to conclude an alliance with the Tyrells, sealing it with the marriage of Margaery and Joffrey. When the Tyrells entered King's Landing, they began to import carts of provisions and distribute them to the townspeople on behalf of Queen Margaery, so even before her arrival, she was loved in the city.
Storm of Swords
Joffrey and Margaery's wedding took place on the first day of the first month of the year 300 (i.e. Margaery is 17 years old). Margaery brought the disgraced Sansa Stark closer to her, calling her “sister”[3]. Despite what she learned from Sansa about her fiancé, she played the role of Joffrey's cheerful bride and then disconsolate widow, and later the bride again and soon the wife of King Tommen, perfectly.
Feast of Vultures
After the funeral of Lord Tywin Lannister, Margaery marries again, this time to Joffrey Baratheon's younger brother, little Tommen, who was then crowned king.
After the wedding of Tommen and Margaery, the Tyrells leave the court, so that only her ladies-in-waiting and brother Ser Loras remain with the queen. Among Margaery's companions was Thane Merryweather, who, in the interests of the Queen Regent, spies on the little queen[4]. Over the next few months after the marriage, Cersei Lannister plots to get rid of Margaery and the remaining Tyrells, basing her arguments on the fact that she doubts the possibility of maintaining Margaery's virginity after her wedding to Renly Baratheon. These statements could just as likely be true as they could not be true, since Renly Baratheon was homosexual. The septa who examined Margaery claims that the girl was not a virgin, but Cersei notes that many noble ladies lose their maidenhood not in bed, but while riding [5]. Cersei persuades Osney Kettleblack to try to seduce Margaery, but he fails to achieve anything more than light flirting from the girl.
As Tommen's queen, Margaery does a lot to win the love and respect of her subjects. She visits local markets and buys fresh fruit, bread and fish from ordinary traders, orders dresses from local dressmakers, makes serious charitable investments and always travels with a large and colorful retinue.
Margaery comes up with various ways for Tommen to make him a successful and respected ruler, such as riding a horse in front of his subjects or overseeing the activities of the Small Council[5]. Cersei refuses to accept Margaery's proposals and forbids Tommen from doing so. Later in one conversation, Margaery is concerned that the Ironborn are planning an invasion of the Shield Islands and is amazed that Cersei does not see a serious threat in this.
Following the Greyjoys' attack on the lands of the Reach, Loras Tyrell leaves King's Landing to participate in the siege of Dragonstone (as troops were gathered to it).[6] Margaery remains alone at court. When Cersei finds out that she sent Pycelle for Moon Tea, she accuses Margaery of adultery, building her line of accusation on lies and the testimony of conspiratorial witnesses. The girl is arrested and taken into custody, where she awaits trial in the Great Sept of Baelor.
Cersei, hiding her gloating, visits Margaery in custody, informing her that Margaery's cousins have also been arrested and are facing trial. Margaery understands that this is a trial by combat and demands her older brother Garlan as her defender, but Cersei reminds her of the law, according to which the defender must be one of the knights of the Royal Guard. Later, one of Cersei's main witnesses, Osney Kettleblack, confesses under torture that he slandered Margaery, and Cersei herself shares the fate of her daughter-in-law.
A Dance with Dragons
Randyll Tarly, who urgently arrived in King's Landing from Maiden Pool, persuaded the High Septon to place Margaery under his protection, promising to hand her over to the court at the right time. Margaery did not insist on trial by combat, choosing the court of Faith.
First role and beginning of acting career
In 2005, Natalie received her first role in the film. It was the film "Casanova", in which already famous actors played, such as Heath Ledger, Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons.
Initially, it was assumed that Dormer would play a cameo role, but during the casting, the director was so impressed by the girl’s acting that he decided to add additional scenes to the script with Victoria, Natalie’s character.
The director made no mistake with the choice of the actress; Natalie coped with the role perfectly and was able to fully reveal her character. After the release of the film, representatives of the film company Disney Touchstone contacted Dormer and offered the girl to play in three films at once. The actress agreed, but due to certain circumstances, not a single film was released.
Natalie in the movie "Casanova"
Around the same time, Natalie appeared in the TV series Distant Shores and Rebus: The Hanging Garden. These were small roles, after which the actress did not appear in any films for some time. At this time, Natalie had to get a job, she realized one important thing:
This was the best lesson I learned early in my career. From that moment on, I realized that I could never afford to rest on my laurels.
But in 2007 everything changed. The girl was offered to play the role of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of the English king Henry VIII, in the TV series “The Tudors”. Natalie’s magnificent acting immediately captivated TV viewers. Thanks to this role, the girl was twice nominated for the Gemini Awards in the category of best performers in dramatic roles. There is an assumption that genes helped the girl get used to the role, because one of the representatives of the Dormer family was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Mary Tudor. Natalie herself loves historical films and is ready to watch them again and again.
Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn
After participating in the filming of The Tudors, directors paid close attention to Dormer and began inviting her into their films. So the girl played in such films as “Without a Flaw”, “City of Life”, “Ghosts” and in one of the episodes of the TV series “Miss Marple”.
In March 2010, Natalie Dormer began her theatrical career. At the London Young Vic Theater she played in the tragicomedy “Sweet Nothings” based on the play by Arthur Schnitzler. Natalie later played in various stops on the stage of Broadway and the Hampstead Theatre. And listeners of BBC radio remembered the girl for voicing the audio dramas “Bound Hearts” and “The Back Door”.

In 2011, Natalie met Madonna. The famous singer acted as the director of the historical film “We. We Believe in Love” and offered the actress the role of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who was the wife of King George VI of Great Britain and the mother of Queen Elizabeth II.

At the same time, the actress played the role of Private Lorraine in the superhero film The First Avenger. Also in February 2011, the first episodes of the series “Silk” were released on the BBC channel, in which Natalie Dormer played one of the main roles and was present in all six episodes of the first season of the series.

Since in the series Tommen is much older than his book prototype, after the wedding he consummates the marriage with Margaery.
In the fifth season, Margaery is taken into custody by the Holy Host on charges of perjury at an official church inquest, where the girl said that she knew nothing about the sodomy of her brother Loras.
In her cell, the young queen is visited by Cersei. The Queen Mother brings her food and says that she is doing everything to help the girl free herself. Annoyed by her lies, Margaery sends Cersei away.
In season six, Margaery is shown in a dungeon, where Septa Unella reads the Seven-Pointed Star to her and beats her to listen. Later, during a meeting with the High Sparrow, the queen demonstrates that such “persistent reading” was not in vain - she knows the contents of all seven books and can even recite some passages by heart. The High Septon allows her to visit Loras in his cell. Margaery sees that her brother is morally broken and she was allowed to see him in order to finally persuade him to repent. She promises him that everything will end soon.

Jaime Lannister agrees with his uncle, the Hand and Olenna Tyrell that the Tyrell army will enter the city and, without obstacles, will be able to recapture Margaery and Loras from the Holy Host, and at the same time finish off His High Sparrow on the day when Margaery will have to go through the path of redemption, however the plan fails - Tommen emerges from the sept in front of the people and army and announces that from now on the crown and faith will act together. He was persuaded to this decision by Margaery, who is now very pious - she prays seven times a day, dresses modestly, keeps Septa Unella with her and does not even share a bed with her husband. For her help in uniting the crown and faith, she is forgiven all her sins.
Margaery later talks to her grandmother at the Red Keep, in the presence of Septa Eunella. She says that Loras must repent of his sins, renounce his inheritance and spend the rest of his life making amends for his sins. Lady Olenna is outraged, but the girl quietly gives her a piece of paper and tells her to go home, hinting that the High Sparrow is going to throw the Queen of Thorns into prison. Olenna Tyrell sees a rose drawn on a piece of paper. Realizing that her granddaughter has some kind of plan, she leaves for Highgarden.
In the last episode of the sixth season, Margaery and her father attend Loras' trial in the Sept of Baelor. He confesses his sins and enters the Holy Army for the sake of their atonement. His High Sparrow promises the queen that Loras will be released immediately after Cersei's trial, which, incidentally, was not destined to take place: the queen mother blew up the sept with the help of Aerys Targaryen's wild fire reserves. Margaery, like everyone who was present at the trial, dies in the explosion.
