Olga Karput: “We build our lives ourselves”

Activist

Olga is known as the creator and owner of the multi-brand designer clothing boutique “Kuznetsky Most 20”. She attends social parties and charity events. Photos of Olga Karput can often be seen on the pages of glossy glamor magazines.

Olga Karput

Olga always loved fashion, so she decided to pursue it professionally. She often goes to shows, makes orders for her store herself, looks for new brands, meets young promising designers, supports and develops their ideas, presenting their items in her store. And when it all began, according to Olga, it was not easy to convince designers to come to the yet unopened boutique in the capital.

In her work, Karput relies on her intuition and flair, purchasing collections from little-known emerging designers. Of course, this is a risk, but without it sometimes you cannot achieve success.

Nutrition

I start every morning with a couple of shots of wheatgrass and vegetable juice. I specially order wheatgrass, germinate it and press it using a Hurom juicer. Favorite green juice recipe - lots of spinach, parsley, celery, green apple, lemon, ginger. For children I mix celery, carrots and apple. During the day I always drink Bulletproof coffee - I've been really addicted to it lately! To do this, I take some coconut oil and butter and put it in a blender with Americano. In the evening I allow myself a glass of good red wine.

I'm lucky: I don't have a sweet tooth. If I choose dessert, then something gluten-free from the KM20 menu, such as truffle or chia pudding. It so happened that I don’t eat meat, I came to this myself. In principle, I don’t really like homemade food with cutlets. And when I started doing yoga, meat completely disappeared from the diet somehow by itself. I hardly eat fish either, but in the summer at sea I can order oysters or shells. But I will never refuse a salad with Gorgonzola. I am very glad that last summer we renovated the KM20 cafe and now in Moscow you can enjoy healthy and proper functional food. It seems to me that everyone should come to this kind of nutrition sooner or later, because it gives completely different sensations.

Imagine, even my husband already eats less meat. He has not yet become a completely vegetarian, but is already on his way. He is good at vegetarian burgers and has started adding curry to his food. But before he said that this seasoning smells like India, and he wrinkled his nose - he didn’t like the aroma of oriental incense. Now we smell of them everywhere! The smell of curry is the best winter scent for my home. I think this seasoning is ideal for the Russian winter: curry with pumpkin and sweet potato is a great warmer.

"KM20"

“Kuznetsky Most 20”, or “KM20” for short, is a concept store, so simply named after its location, that was created not as a typical boutique, but as something new with a fresh look at fashion.

The brands sold here were initially either completely unknown or known to a very narrow circle of people. Among the designers and brands that Kuznetsky Most 20 works with are Ashish, Raf Simons, Vetements, Off-White, Gosha Rubchinsky, JW Anderson, Lemaire, Marques' Almeida and many others.

The store space includes not only a clothing boutique. There is a café and table tennis area on site. If desired, all this can be transformed and turned into a platform for holding parties, celebrations and shows. Today, the boutique on Kuznetsky Most is a place where popular DJs perform in the evenings and the most fashionable residents of Moscow gather.

KM20 hosts children's parties and annual New Year trees, organizes games and impromptu photo studios.

Being a mother, Olga Karput tries to ensure that KM20 has not only adult, but also children’s collections, and asks designers to pay attention to this.

Karput is proud of its team.

Lifestyle

Olga believes that it is very important to take care of your health; she has been actively practicing yoga for a long time and swims a lot. Even her brainchild, the KM20 project, is not only a home for the most fashionable, it is also aimed at people who understand proper healthy eating.

The cafe on Kuznetsky is famous for its healthy menu; here you can find fresh, cold-pressed juices and light snacks. Olga Karput has the desire and ideas for the development of this area. As Olga herself says: “Food should give energy, not take it away.”

Karput is a vegetarian. She gave up meat and caffeine, tries not to take pills and rest when her body requires it. And also spend as much time as possible with your children.

Beauty experiments

I'm into modern fashion, so I'm open to everything new. For example, I dyed my hair pink more than once and experimented with eyebrows, which I completely bleached in pursuit of the bare face trend. I really liked it, but my husband was indignant. It turns out that keeping bleached eyebrows in perfect condition is incredibly difficult. I had to get up early to spend an hour just on my eyebrows. I got a separate cosmetic bag with products for them, special brushes and oils. In order for the eyebrows to maintain the correct transparent shade and not turn yellow, every morning I had to use a blue tinting agent, which I got through friends... In general, this became such a problem that I gave up bleaching. But the experiment was fun.

Style

Paradoxical and ironic combinations. Olga loves to mix sporty style with casual, or even evening style. She can wear sweatshirts with jewelry, loves flat shoes, and can often be seen in sneakers. At the same time, Karput always looks stylish.

The sweatshirts in Olga’s wardrobe are personalized; especially for her, Vetements created a sweatshirt with the name Karput instead of their company logo.

Olga chooses massive rings for jewelry. She wears them always and everywhere, easily combining them with bomber jackets, T-shirts and tracksuits, and looks very impressive at the same time.

Olga Karput is a big fan of pajamas, and can, for fun, wear pajamas even to an important meeting or event.

Another passion of Olga is men's jumpers. She thinks that if you tuck it up, it is very cozy and looks beautiful. From the men's wardrobe, or rather, from her husband's wardrobe, Olga also wears a Rolex watch.

Fragrances

I use perfumes from niche brands: Le Labo, Montale, Penhaligon's.
I like the latter's Castile scent. And I’ve been using Le Labo’s Patchouli for a long time: it smells like a fire and develops beautifully on the skin. I love Montale fragrances because they can be mixed with each other. In general, I get used to smells very quickly and stop feeling them. Only when my family starts to notice that I’ve gone too far with some scent do I realize that maybe it’s time to update my perfume. There was a funny incident when I applied too much Le Labo Santal 33 perfume. My husband came home that day and asked: “Did you pickle the cucumbers?” Interview: Olesya Mints Text: Tatyana Koroleva Photo: Asya Zabavskaya

Children

Olga Karput grew up in a dysfunctional family and was an only child, so she always dreamed of a big, friendly family. Now Olga is a young happy mother of three children: her youngest son Pasha and daughters Sasha and Sonya.

Olga gets great pleasure from communicating with children, and she perfectly combines raising children with work, sports and travel.

During pregnancy, Olga continued to practice yoga, even more intensely than usual. Olga Karput gave birth to all her children herself, and considers breastfeeding to be a natural process, conceived by nature and allowing the body to get into shape faster and easier, including at the hormonal level.

The eldest daughter, Sonya, attends a school with a mathematical bias, goes in for equestrian sports, ballet, music, and learns foreign languages. From time to time she acts as a hostess at children's parties held on Kuznetsky Most.

The second daughter, Sasha, goes in for swimming and yoga. And the youngest, Pasha, was born on September 1, 2020. He is not yet two years old, so the parents are just watching their son, determining what is more suitable for their heir, what he will have inclinations for.

Olga Karput and Pavel Te try to be reasonable about their children’s talents and calmly accept their weaknesses. They are not thinking about a fourth child yet; they believe that at this stage the family is well-equipped.

Body care

I couldn’t be happier with the cool Egyptian Magic cream: it’s suitable for the face, hands, and heels; ideal for both children and adults; will save you when you get sunburned. The whole family also loves Bepanthol, which we buy in Spain. It perfectly moisturizes, nourishes and does not smell anything. It is available both in the form of a cream (I buy it for myself) and in the form of a lotion (for children). And, of course, I can’t imagine my care without AgriLife coconut oil. I apply Muscle Rub cream from Modere to my body after yoga or in the evening if I need to relieve muscle tension and fall asleep quickly.

When extra hydration is needed, Skinion gel cream with cactus extract, which a friend brought me from Mexico, saves me. It also smells almost nothing - for me this is a plus.

Husband

Pavel Te was married twice before meeting Olga. But all's well that ends well, and now this couple is not only one of the most stylish in Russia, but they are also a happy family raising three children. Pavel is especially proud of the birth of his son.

Pavel Te is a businessman, oligarch, co-owner of Capital Group. His company specializes in construction.

Pavel loves spending time with children, cooking with his daughters and playing with his heir. He keeps up with his wife and also plays sports, loves swimming and skiing and involves his children in this.

The qualities that Pavel Te strives to develop in his children are independence, goodwill, self-confidence and inner peace.

Hair care

I used to be fond of dry shampoos, but now I no longer like their texture, I feel like they clog my pores and it gives me a headache. I usually apply Biologique Recherche P50 lotion to my scalp (after which it begins to breathe and better accepts nutrients for hair growth), and then L'Oréal Professionnel Pro Fiber mask. By the way, I recently had a very unpleasant experience with my hair. When I go to Paris Fashion Week, I always go to the same salon - David Mallett. But somehow I was advised to L'Atelier Blanc, where all the famous blondes like Natasha Poly get their hair done, and where Kim Kardashian also got her hair done. In this salon they gave me white transparent hair, which literally fell off along almost the entire length - they simply burned it! And I returned to David Mallett again to Master Louis. I've been restoring his hair for over six months now. By the way, I use hair serum from this salon, and they also have excellent oil.

Olga Karput's age and the secrets of her beauty

Olga is not yet 35. And does it really matter how old Olga Karput is? It’s much more interesting how she manages, with three children, a family and a job, to look so charming.

According to Olga herself, in order to be beautiful, you cannot be angry, because it is difficult to imagine a beautiful woman with bad thoughts. You need to be able to love and rejoice, wear beautiful underwear, rest well and eat right.

Karput monitors the condition of her hair and skin, often makes masks and facial massages, and tries to avoid sun rays. Olga's everyday makeup includes a good moisturizer and lip balm. And coconut oil is a favorite skin care product.

During her third pregnancy, Olga made wraps with algae and magnesium. The skin, according to Olga, after this procedure is tightened and healthy, and you sleep soundly - and this is a very pleasant additional point.

Recently, Karput began visiting the Chinese acupuncture center in Moscow. As a result of acupuncture, lymph flow is stimulated and excess fluid is removed.

Olga considers the hammam another useful procedure for her skin and visits it once a week. A Turkish bath is especially beneficial after flights.

All this, combined with yoga and a healthy vegetarian diet, gives excellent results.

Makeup

In ordinary life, I hardly wear makeup, although I took a couple of lessons from makeup artist Natasha Malova. Now she lives in Los Angeles and does makeup all over Hollywood, so I’m still looking for my own makeup artist. Natasha taught me how to apply highlighter correctly and paint my lips with a bright color. She also found me a cool and ideal NARS lipstick in the shade Volga. My go-to makeup is moisturized skin and beautiful lips.

Before applying makeup, I always moisturize my skin well with Embryolisse cream or apply the Japanese GHC Placental mask for a few minutes. In general, it is better to do a facial massage first: in order for the cosmetics to apply more easily and smoothly, the muscles must be relaxed. The ideal tone for me is NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with a “wet” skin effect. I use NARS highlighter in the shade Copacabana) to highlight all the right places. During the day, I apply BECCA Eye Tint pigment directly to my eyelids with my fingers, and in the evening I apply Giorgio Armani liquid eyeshadow in a golden hue. Mascara can be any, now - By Terry.

I really like regular Vaseline. I know that this is a petroleum product, but so far I haven’t found anything better than it. I apply it to my eyebrows, my lips, and sometimes my eyelashes (this is another secret that Natasha Malova revealed to me). In winter, when there are sudden changes in temperature, I apply Homeoplasmine ointment to my lips.

House

In Ibiza, literally ten steps from the sea, there is a house in which the family of Olga Karput and Pavel Te and their children like to relax from the capital.

The house has a name, and its name is Gaviota, which means “seagull” in Spanish.

Having bought the house from the previous owner, Olga and Pavel first started remodeling it. Now there is simplicity of form and everything for a pleasant family stay and meeting numerous guests.

The house has Italian furniture. The living room has an Arabic theme. Treating antiques with caution, Olga nevertheless purchased several vases from an antique Moroccan store and a 19th-century mirror at an auction.

One of the family rituals in Ibiza is a boat trip to a neighboring island where sulfur springs gush out. There the whole family spends time with health benefits.

The eldest daughter Sonya is involved in horse riding on the island, and her own horse is in the stable here.

Vitamins

I can’t live without omega-3 - I drink it every day, regardless of the time of year. I constantly experiment only with manufacturer brands. I bought my current vitamins - Wild Nutrition High Strength Omega 3 - at a pharmacy in London. I also take Silica vitamins for skin, hair and nails every day and Swiss complex vitamins Vita Collagen Complex in the form of a powder that needs to be diluted in water.

Sometimes I add calcium and magnesium to this set - the latter has an excellent calming effect. My favorite supplement is Linwoods brand hulled hemp seeds. I sprinkle them anywhere and everywhere.
