Olga Shukshina: biography, personal life, family, husband, children - photo

Childhood

The girl was born in Moscow (1968, July 29). At that time, the family of famous artists Vasily Makarovich and Lydia Nikolaevna already had a joint daughter, Masha. At the age of 4, in 1972, Olya and her sister first appeared on screen: their father filmed them in his film “Stoves and Benches.” In 1974, “Birds over the City” was released on the screen, where the viewer again saw among the heroes the Shukshin family that he had already loved: a mother and her charming daughters.

The girl's childhood was darkened by the early death of her father. According to Olga, she hardly remembered Vasily Makarovich alive. Her real acquaintance with him came as she grew older. After decades, she also noted that she had a hard time with her mother’s new marriage - L. Fedoseeva-Shukshina married M. Agranovich a year after the death of Vasily Makarovich. Perhaps this later became one of the reasons for the strained relationship between daughter and mother, the mention of which has already become a tradition in covering the biography of Olga Shukshina. The latter very often complains about the lack of love in her own family.

Olga Shukshina's childhood

It is interesting that the actor and director Vasily Shukshin has three daughters. The eldest, Ekaterina, was born to him by Victoria Safronova. Two more daughters, Maria and Olga, appeared in his marriage to Lydia Fedoseeva-Shukshina.

Olga was born on July 29, 1969. Vasily was filming at the time, and the news of the birth of his youngest daughter made him very happy. Despite the fact that Olga is very similar to her mother, she inherited expressive eyes and character from her father.

The daughters were very close to Shukshin. They even took part in the filming of his film, “The Stove of the Shop,” when they were very young.

But when Olya was only 6 years old, Vasily Shukshin passed away. Soon Lydia Fedoseeva married a second time - to cameraman Mikhail Agranovich. Unfortunately, this man could not replace the girls’ own father. Their marriage to Lydia lasted ten years, and after that they no longer communicated. She could not forget Vasily - her greatest love. And she devoted a lot of time to her career. This was more important to her than her personal life.

And the girls grew up, and soon it was time for them to think about choosing a profession. Olga Shukshina entered VGIK. In addition, she soon received a role in famous films - “The Eternal Husband” (based on M. F. Dostoevsky), “Tired” (a film adaptation of the drama by Adel Al-Hadad) and “Mother” by Gleb Panfilov. Despite the fact that she coped well with the roles, Shukshina the younger felt that she was out of place.

Olga Shukshina in her youth

Her thirst for fame was overpowered by her love of books. She wanted to try herself as a writer. Therefore, Olga soon entered the literary institute. Now Olga is writing essays from her biography, and, according to fans, she is doing it well.

Professional self-determination

After graduating from school, the girl entered GITIS, then studied at VGIK. She even managed to star in three films, where she showed herself to be a good actress. However, Olga herself did not feel satisfied: Shukshin’s daughter thought that she was not doing her own thing. Much more, by her own admission, the girl was attracted to literature. This led her to the Literary Institute, which she, however, did not graduate from. But this did not stop her from doing what she loved, for example, writing essays about her famous father.

Personal life

Olga Shukshina doesn’t really like to talk about this. It is known that she has an adult son (date of birth - December 18, 1995), named after the famous grandfather Vasily. He always had a dash in the “father” column; Shukshina herself never talked about this topic. It is only known that while still studying at VGIK, she developed a relationship with a student of the same institution (he was studying to become a director). The girl got married, but the mother did not accept her son-in-law, although she became attached to her grandson. Olga, for example, touchingly talks about how Lidia Nikolaevna literally burst into the maternity hospital to bless her daughter before the birth of the child.

Soon the young people separated. Olga Vasilyevna Shukshina never married again. Her son, oddly enough, having become an adult and without knowing it, contributed to the development of the conflict between mother and grandmother. It flared up over Shukshin’s four-room apartment in Moscow.

Vasya dreamed of becoming a director, like his famous grandfather, and going to VGIK. But it didn’t come true - the guy went into the army. After graduating from school, he came from the monastery to his grandfather’s apartment, from where he was expelled with a scandal. It is difficult to judge what the real reason is. Each woman has her own truth.

Biography of Maria Shukshina

The biography of Maria Shukshina is full of surprises and surprises. The girl was born in 1967 in Moscow.

The girl’s acting biography began literally from the cradle, when at the age of one and a half she starred in the movie “Brother.” Already in 1972, a five-year-old girl, together with her four-year-old sister, shone in the film “Stoves and Benches.” And in first grade, the girl played Masha Vishnyakova in the film “Birds over the City.”

Biography of Maria Shukshina photo

Mom constantly told the girl that becoming an actress was not a profession, but a hobby. After finishing school, Masha decided to enter the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages, where she received the profession of a secretary with translator skills. For a long time, Shukshina did not even think about cinema or theater and worked as a broker. The woman is fluent in Spanish, Ukrainian and English.

The birth of Lydia Shukshina, then still Fedoseeva, occurred on September 25, 1938. The daughter of Zinaida and front-line soldier Nikolai was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, at a difficult time. My father died shortly after the war. The girl was not the only child in the family. She had younger brothers who, unfortunately, died.

His creative biography began with visiting drama clubs at the Leningrad House of Cinema and participating in children's productions.

Upon reaching adulthood, in 1957, the girl went to the capital to enroll in VGIK. Tamara Makarova and Sergei Gerasimov were her mentors. Partly thanks to them, the viewer saw the heartfelt performance of a promising, aspiring actress in the film “Peers.” From 1974–1993, Lidia Nikolaevna was a member of the troupe of the Film Actor Studio Theater in Moscow.

Unfortunately, there is very little information regarding the parents of the famous actress. It is only known that they managed to survive the blockade.

Monastery

As follows from the biography of Olga Shukshina, he occupies a special place in a woman’s life. Tired of worldly life, Olga, who abandoned acting, came to the Nikolo-Shartom monastery. More precisely, at first I accepted an offer from a priest I knew to live in Crimea at his dacha. This was due to the poor health of Olga's son, Vasily. The girl liked the calm atmosphere, church rituals, and the opportunity to become closer to God so much that she spent 15 years in the monastery: she taught children (Olga has no pedagogical education, but she naturally has an even, calm character and humility), helped in the kitchen and courtyard, etc. But she never became a novice or a nun.

In 2013, she moved to a house near Moscow, although she did not part with the monastery. Still attends services, maintains relationships

Religious life of Olga Shukshina

Olga's character is very similar to her famous father. She is modest, quiet - the hypocritical world of show business is not at all for her. In her youth, she chose church life over career and fame. After breaking up with the father of her child, she gave up her career. They said different things about her - that Shukshina became a nun, a novice... This turned out to be untrue. Olga simply liked living in the monastery - since childhood she believed in God and felt calm in the monastery of the Lord. She worked at the Nikolo-Shartom Church and continues to work to this day.

Olga lived in the monastery for 15 years

Olga’s son, Vasily, was often sick, and on the advice of doctors, the actress decided to live with him for some time in a region with a mild climate. On this issue, she consulted with a priest she knew, the rector of the Nikolo-Shartom monastery. He invited the actress and her son to live at his dacha in Crimea.

So Olga began to communicate closer with the abbot and closer to God. She began to devote most of her time to spiritual life. The girl was impressed by the beautiful church rituals. But social life did not attract her at all.

With son Vasily

She lived in a monastery for fifteen years. Olga worked as a teacher for children from a local orphanage. She did not have a pedagogical education, but the girl showed herself to be a person with humility and a gentle character. Thanks to this, she was entrusted with teaching orphans. The actress’s son was always by her side and enjoyed communicating with his peers. In addition, Shukshina never became arrogant - if necessary, she washed floors and worked in the kitchen.

Film roles

Few feature films have been made with Olga Shukshina. Here they are (not counting the two where she was captured as a child):

  • "Mother" (1989). In the film based on the works of M. Gorky, Olga Vasilievna Shukshina played Natasha.
  • "Eternal Husband" (1990). Together with Olga, her mother, L. Fedoseeva-Shukshina, and older sister Maria starred in the film based on the work of the same name by F. Dostoevsky.
  • "Tired" (1991).
  • “I believe!” (2002). This is a complex film about the search for the meaning of one’s own existence and the path to God of a simple village man. Based on three works by V. Shukshin. The daughter of the actor and director starred in the episode.

Movies

Olga actually has few roles. In 1974, she played in Sergei Nikonenko’s film “Birds over the City,” and 15 years later - in Gleb Panfilov’s drama “Mother.” Next, in 1990, a film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s story “The Eternal Husband” was released, where Shukshina appears in the episode. The young actress’s mother Lydia Fedoseeva-Shukshina and sister Maria are involved in this project. In the psychological drama “Tired,” Olga starred in the company of Leonid Gromov and Vitaly Babenko.

Olga Shukshina in her youth (still from the film “Mother”)

After this, there was a big break in Shukshina’s cinematic career. She returned to the screens only in 2009 in the film “I Believe!”, based on the stories of Vasily Shukshin. Olga preferred serving at a monastery, teaching, organizing social projects and studying her father’s heritage to a public profession.

“I moved away from acting. What is being offered on the film market now is not mine. Only after I starred in several films myself did I understand why in the old days actors were buried behind cemetery walls. This activity destroys the soul.”

In memory of my father

Returning from the monastery, Olga decided to devote herself to restoring the good memory of her father. She began studying the creative heritage of the famous director and actor. She organized social projects through which she tried to convey Vasily Makarovich’s ideas to people. Her main goal, as Olga herself admits, is to remove the ingrained stigma of “reveler” and “drunk” from him.

Of particular interest is the documentary project “Olga Shukshina. If dad were alive..." The program features letters from Vasily Makarovich addressed to his youngest daughter for the first time. He started writing them when Olenka barely learned to sit. The heroine bitterly says that only rereading them allowed her to fully experience her father’s energy. And it seems to lead to the thought: everything in her life would be different if her father had not left so early.

Olga comes to her father’s small homeland - in the village. Srostki, where he meets with museum employees and local residents. She expresses thoughts that she would like to live and work here in order to contribute to preserving the memory of Vasily Makarovich. At the same time, he steadfastly listens to unpleasant statements addressed to him. She reads her father’s favorite letter, written to her on her birthday, at the monument to Vasily Makarovich.

Olga also starred in a documentary dedicated to her father: “He fought for his homeland. Vasily Shukshin" (2009).

What is Olga Shukshina doing today?

Tired of disputes and squabbles with relatives, Olga Vasilievna rented out her house near Moscow and moved to an Egyptian town. Here she rents a two-room apartment and lives quietly and modestly. Olga Shukshina, whose biography has taken another sharp turn, receives her livelihood from the work of her second-hand store. The woman attends a local church and visits Russia from time to time. Maintains a relationship with his half-sister Anastasia Voronina-Francisco, the eldest daughter of L. Fedoseeva-Shukshina from her first marriage. In her, according to Olga, she found mutual understanding and support, which she never lacked in communication with Lydia Nikolaevna and Maria.

An ambiguous impression remains after getting acquainted with the life of Olga Shukshina, and with what has been happening in the lives of Vasily Makarovich’s loved ones in recent years. Well, we can only hope that loved ones will still find the strength to extend a hand to each other and peace will finally come to their family.
