Alexander Pankratov-Cherny: luxury apartment from father-in-law

Name: Alexander Pankratov-Cherny Date of birth: June 28, 1949 Where was born: Konevo village, Altai Height: 174 cm Zodiac sign: Cancer Career: 1978 - present Profession: actor

He plays minor roles in such a way that the viewer then remembers the characters in his performance for a long time. To become a successful actor and director, Alexander Pankratov-Cherny had to work hard on himself. His biography and personal life are proof that a guy from a peasant family, born in a village forgotten by God, can become famous and happy.

Pankratov-Cherny Alexander Vasilyevich was born in the village of Konevo in Altai on June 28, 1949. His parents were descendants of exiled Cossacks (Chernigov on his father’s side, Don Cossacks on his mother’s side), so it is difficult to determine the actor’s nationality.

Father - Vasily Trofimovich Guzev, went through the Great Patriotic War. He died from numerous wounds in 1952.

Mother - Agrippina Yakovlevna Pankratova, after the death of her husband, she raised the children herself.

Childhood and youth

Alexander was the youngest child in the family. He was born premature, his parents even resigned themselves to the idea that the baby would soon die, since the mother did not produce milk. But the grandfather and grandmother did not allow this - they took out the baby.

He had never seen his older brother and sister, born in his mother’s first marriage. Anatoly and Lydia died of hunger before he was born. While his mother was working, Alexander was looked after by his half-sister Zinaida, who was 4 years older.

The childhood and youth of the future actor were hungry. From the age of 6, Alexander earned workdays on the collective farm. At school he was an excellent student. However, like all his classmates. In order to save money, students from 4 classes were trained in one room. Therefore, we knew the program in advance.

The school also had a good library. In elementary school, Sasha read not only Russian classics, but also Homer and Guy de Maupassant. Peers in the yard enjoyed listening to exciting stories retold by Pankratov-Cherny. And he put on whole performances.

A mobile cinema came to the village once a month. To the passion for reading was added an interest in cinema. In 1959, the actor’s mother was rehabilitated and allowed to leave Altai. Alexander graduated from school in the Kemerovo region.

The mother dreamed that her son would enter the Suvorov Military School and become a military man. Alexander had his own plans. Secretly from Agrippina Yakovlevna, he went to Nizhny Novgorod to enter the theater school.

During the exam, Pankratov-Cherny quickly read a poem by A.S. Pushkin’s “Storm in the Darkness...”. The admissions committee rejected the guy, and besides, he had a Siberian dialect. Alexander went out into the corridor and burst into tears. At that moment, an elderly man passed by and asked what was the matter. The young man said that he traveled halfway across the country to become an artist, but was rejected. The head of the educational department, Georgy Yavorovsky, recognized the talent in the guy, and he ordered that he be accepted.

The years of study at the school were difficult for Alexander. To somehow support her son, his mother sent him a small parcel of potatoes once a month. With a height of 174 cm, Pankratov-Cherny’s weight was 69 kg.

About the childhood of Alexander Pankratov-Cherny

The great (there is no other way to say about him!) actor of Soviet and Russian cinema was born in an Altai village into a large Cossack family. Parents, both mother Agrippina Yakovlevna and father Vasily Trofimovich, were exiled to Altai in the twenties during mass repressions. His mother, Agrippina Tokareva, came from a family of Don Cossacks, and the historical homeland of his father, Vasily Guzev, was Chernigov region. Vasily Trofimovich, despite his status as an “enemy of the people,” went to the front in the first days of the Great Patriotic War and went through the entire war, being seriously wounded several times.

The surname “Pankratov”, which the actor later took with the prefix “Black”, is not exactly a pseudonym. Before her marriage to Vasily Guzev, Agrippina Yakovlevna was married and already had two children - Anatoly Ivanovich and Lydia Ivanovna Pankratov. They did not have time to be called by their patronymics - the children of Ivan Pankratov and Agrippina Tokareva died in early childhood, before the birth of our hero. Their father also fought in the Great Patriotic War and went missing at the front. The artist only knew his sister Zinaida, who was four years older than her brother.

The birth of this child, the boy Sasha, was difficult for the Guzev couple... He was born very premature, his mother, an almost forty-year-old woman, exhausted by the post-war famine, had no milk, and the parents almost resigned themselves to the fact that the child would not survive. In those days, there were no special devices in hospitals for caring for premature babies; more to say, there was no hospital as such in the small Altai village of Konevo! The grandparents came out, covered the baby's cradle with cotton wool, and fed him with goat's and cow's milk. When Sasha grew up a little and it became clear that he would live, his older sister Zina, herself still a child, began to look after him.

Grief does not come alone - the famous sad folk wisdom. It was not a tragedy that Agrippina’s two older children died: when the boy Alexander was only three and a half years old, his father died, having never recovered from his wounds after the war. The Guzev family, left without a breadwinner, not only starved: there was neither electricity nor even sufficient kerosene in the village. Sasha started working at the age of six - he had to help his mother and sister and earn workdays.

Work did not prevent him from going to the local high school at the age of six, which was so small that children from four classes studied at once in one room. It is not surprising that Sasha was an excellent student in elementary school - every year he listened to the material of the next grades again and again! It’s a paradox, but in a village where there was no bread in abundance, a huge school library was preserved, and the boy, having only learned to read, began to “swallow” everything, from Russian classics to Maupassant and Homer. Pankratov-Cherny later mentioned that his grandmother taught him to read - she dreamed that her grandson would become educated and “become a decent person.”

Not only did he read a lot and remember everything he read, but from early childhood Sasha showed himself to be a rare storyteller, which greatly delighted his classmates. Not everyone could read quickly, especially complex works, but everyone was ready to listen to such an emotional “speaker.” The boy not only loved to recite poetry and prose by heart, he also loved to make others laugh, and already dreamed of becoming an actor-humorist. They brought films to the village to watch, and Alexander, holding his breath, watched each picture several times, mentally imagining himself in the place of the comic “stars” of that time.

Agrippina Yakovlevna was terrified for her son: repressed as a member of a kulak family, she feared that his “artistic” future career would not bring him anything good. Mom wanted the young man to become a military man - full state support, a good salary, stability and respect from others. In 1959, Agrippina Pankratova-Guzeva was rehabilitated, she and her children were allowed to leave the Altai Territory, and she and her son and daughter moved to the Kemerovo region. There, the future actor finishes eight-year school in the village of Kolmogorovo, the dream of becoming an artist does not leave him, but his mother is categorically against entering a theater school.

“There would be no happiness, but misfortune would help,” this is definitely about Pankratov-Cherny and his admission to drama school. Alexandra’s grandmother, who remained in Altai, suddenly fell ill, and Agrippina Yakovlevna goes to take care of her mother. The son and daughter were left unattended, and Sasha took advantage of the moment: his sister Zina gave him some money, and he goes to Nizhny Novgorod to secretly become an “artist.” At the station in Gorky (as Nizhny Novgorod was then called), a fourteen-year-old boy met a gypsy woman who looked at the teenager and said: “I see that a great future awaits you.”

He was almost late when he arrived in Nizhny - only the theater school could submit documents; in the rest, admission to the exams had already been completed, but that was where the young man was aiming. Alas, the ability to fluently recite prose and poetry did not help him: Sasha Guzev (then) at the entrance exam recited “A storm covers the sky with darkness” with a strong Siberian accent, which the commission did not like very much. We would not have seen Pankratov-Cherny either in the cinema or in the theater if Georgy Appolinarievich Yavorovsky had not noticed the boy crying from failure.

Director of the puppet theater in Gorky and head of the educational department of the Gorky Theater School, he listened to the phrase uttered through tears: “Mymra from the commission said that I don’t speak Russian well.” Something struck an experienced teacher in a child who had traveled halfway across the country to try to become an actor, and as they say now, “with his forceful decision,” Georgy Yavorovsky influenced Alexander’s acceptance into the school.

Personal life and family of the actor

The personal life of the director and actor before meeting Yulia Monakhova was stormy. Pankratov-Cherny got married for the first time when he was barely 18 years old. After studying at the theater school, the young artist was assigned to Penza, his wife, singer Tatyana Gubareva, worked in Leningrad. Their marriage could not withstand constant travel, feelings cooled down and the young people divorced.

The first common-law wife is actress Irina Nikolaevna Semikletova. She was assigned to Stavropol, where 18 months later she gave birth to a daughter. The woman announced that the father of the child was Pankratov-Cherny, although the artist himself doubted the veracity of her words. The girl’s mother did not allow him to see Svetlana, but she regularly received money for her maintenance. Alexander Vasilyevich also helped his former passion get an apartment.

When the girl grew up, the actor finally conducted a DNA test, which confirmed that she was from another man. They had a serious conversation with Irina Semikletova, after which the woman left him alone. Sveta turned out to be completely different from her mother, Pankratov-Cherny continues to communicate with her.

The second official wife is Veronica Izotova. According to her, he was already meeting with Monakhova, but Yulia’s father, a famous cameraman, was against their meetings. Veronica and Alexander lived together for 6 months, after which they separated. In this marriage, Pankratov-Cherny already proved to everyone that Izotova’s daughter Eduarda was his. In fact, the girl’s father turned out to be Valentin Bubentsov.

At the end of the 80s. Alexander Vasilyevich finally found personal happiness. He and his wife Yulia Vladimirovna Monakhova lived in a civil marriage until 2012, after which they decided to formalize the relationship. The two celebrated the wedding.

The actor admires the patience of his chosen one. They have a son together - Vladimir Aleksandrovich Pankratov, born in 1980. Like his father, he did not immediately become an actor - first he studied for a year at the Faculty of Journalism.

Daughter?

Winter evening in Gagra (1985)

The personal life of the actor and director is also filled with interesting details. Some time ago he was embroiled in a serious scandal. His former passion from Nizhny Novgorod attracted central television channels to clarify their relationship.

It turned out that at the Gorky Theater School, Pankratov began a relationship with a classmate. After graduation, everyone left, the girl went to Stavropol and from there, a couple of years later, she wrote to the actor, saying she was raising his daughter. Needs financial support.

According to Pankratov, he immediately believed and really began to send money, and also helped with the apartment when his former passion needed to resolve the housing issue. Years later, she found him again in Moscow. Having learned by that time that the child was not from him, but from another well-known actor, Alexander Vasilyevich requested a DNA test. It is unknown how the matter ended, but some sources continue to attribute an illegitimate daughter to the actor.

Roles in the theater

After graduating from college, the Magnitogorsk, Stavropol and Sverdlovsk theaters sent invitations to work, but in Penza Alexander was promised the highest salary. From 1969 to 1971 Pankratov-Cherny worked as an actor at the Penza Regional Drama Theater.

Artistic director Ruben Vartapetov was looking for just such an actor who could be entrusted with diverse roles. A talented actor quickly became bored in a provincial theater. Therefore, he paid off and went to conquer the capital.

In the new millennium, the actor takes part in the enterprises “Grooms” and “Hostages of Love.” He is busy in the production's productions "Tired of being afraid" and "Love is not a potato, you can't throw it out the window."

Personal life

Alexander met his first love during his student years. She became his classmate Irina Semikletova. She gave birth to a daughter, Svetlana, to her common-law husband, but he was in no hurry to acknowledge paternity. Because of this, the lovers separated.

The actor's next girlfriend was Veronica Izotova. This time the couple formalized the relationship, and soon a daughter was born. But this marriage also broke up in the late 70s. The reason for the breakup was Alexander’s new love, film critic Yulia Monakhova. They began to live together, and already in 1980 their son Vladimir was born. The union of Monakhova and Pankratov still lasts.

Despite his mature age, Alexander continues to act. From 2007 to 2009, ten films with his participation were released. In 2012, the actor showed himself superbly in the film “Rzhevsky against Napoleon.” A year later, he played in the comedy "Greaves".

Sometimes Alexander goes on the stage. He plays in the production productions “Tired of Being Afraid” and “Love is Not a Potato”. The actor is also the artistic director of the Moscow Entreprise Theater. Since 2003, he has headed the Southern Nights film festival in Gelendzhik.

Film roles

His film debut took place in 1978. Pankratov-Cherny played Sashka in the feature film “Siberiada” by Andrei Konchalovsky. Popularity came to him after the comedy film “We are from Jazz.” The directors were bombarded with offers. Films with the actor: “Act according to the situation”, “Cruel romance”, “And then came Bumbo...”, “The battalions ask for fire”, “Winter evening in Gagra”, “Courier”, “Where is the nophelet?” Alexander Vasilyevich became a star of the Soviet screen back in the 80s.

In the 90s, Alexander Vasilyevich, unlike other artists, was in demand. 30 films with his participation were released. The most memorable acting works in films by the viewer: “Promised Heaven”, “Shirley Myrli”, “Tram-Raram, or Floundering Bays”, “Impotent”. During this period, Pankratov-Cherny was a frequent guest on the television programs “Wheel of History” and “White Parrot”.

In the new millennium, the artist’s creative biography continues to expand. The actor starred in films in the title role: Fyodor Stepanovich - “A Dacha for Sale”, Ryzhak - “The Smile of God, or a Pure Odessa Story”, Albert Bykov - “Island of Unnecessary People”, grandfather Korney - “Steal Belmondo”, A.A. Bruskov - “Shell-shocked, or freestyle swimming lessons.”

A. Pankratov-Cherny’s filmography includes 130 film roles.

Movie

Cruel Romance (1984)

But regarding the comedies that Russian cinema offers today, the actor speaks unflatteringly. He says that cinema in our country is going through difficult times. And if earlier filmmakers had a hard time due to the dictates of censorship, today the producer is at the forefront, who often has nothing to do with art, but dictates his own rules.

“- Not enough spiritual and spiritual! I'm not even talking about children's films: nothing is made for children at all. It’s funny to talk about comedies in general. They consider me a comedian, they send me scripts for what they think are comedies. When you read it, you grab your head! They don’t even have any idea about the nature of comedy. Or they write scripts that are beyond the bounds - very vulgar and ugly,” says the actor.

However, the actor does not give up cinema today. He actively acts in modern comedies and appears in episodes of TV series. Among his latest works are the adjutant in “Rzhevsky against Napoleon”, Albert in “The Island of Unnecessary People”, the fiancé of Lelya’s mother in “Deffchenki” and many others.

In addition, having received a director's education, he already began working on the other side of the camera in the 80s, but then Pankratov-Cherny was absorbed by the acting profession. His next film after 1990 is coming out this year. The film will be called “Daughters’ Fathers.” Alexander Vasilyevich promises a good comedy.

Director's works

In 1975, the actor entered the directing department at VGIK. This time he passed the exam with honor. The prefix to the surname appeared during my studies at VGIK, when there was confusion with my graduation projects. Alexander Vasilyevich’s namesake was on the course. And our hero in his youth was a sultry brunette. To distinguish them, it was necessary to clarify which particular Pankratov was needed. Black or white? The future director liked the nickname, so he became Pankratov-Cherny.

His first directorial work in cinema, the film “Adult Son,” was released in 1979. Alexander Vasilyevich received an honorary diploma from the jury of the XIII International Film Festival for the film for his successful debut.

After some time, the following films by Pankratov-Cherny were presented to the audience - “The Adventures of Count Nevzorov.” In 1985 the film “Beauty Salon” was released, in 1990 – “The Nipple System”. Alexander Vasilyevich not only directed the mini-series “Officers of Order,” but also tried his hand as a producer.

Movies

Alexander Pankratov-Cherny made his debut in the legendary film poem by Andrei Konchalovsky “Sibiriyada”, where he successfully played the character Sashka. After that, directors drew attention to the actor and began to invite him to various films.

Alexander Pankratov-Cherny in the film “We are from Jazz”

A breakthrough in the actor’s creative biography occurred 5 years later. The comedy “We are from Jazz” was staged in such a way that behind the external lightness and gaiety, acute social and even philosophical issues were hidden. Getting into the ensemble of screen stars, which included Nikolai Averyushkin, Leonid Kuravlev, Elena Tsyplakova and Evgeny Evstigneev, was lucky for the aspiring actor. And the fact that Pankratov-Cherny did not get lost in this cast, but only embellished it, confirms the love of a number of generations of viewers who have been watching this comedy for more than 30 years.

After that, the actor appeared in many top-rated films: the drama “Cruel Romance”, the military film “Battalions Ask for Fire”, the musical “Winter Evening in Gagra”, the tragicomedy “Courier”, the melodrama “Forgotten Melody for the Flute”.

A new round of fame overtook Alexander Pankratov-Cherny in 1987, when the comedy “Where is Nophelet?” was released. In the role of a ladies' man and a ladies' man, the actor managed to realize both comic and dramatic talent at the same time.

Unlike many Soviet actors, Pankratov-Cherny did not disappear from the screens during the difficult times of the 90s. During that period, the actor starred in 30 films, from which we can highlight “Promised Heaven”, “Tram-ram, or Bay-floundering”, “Shirley-myrli”, “Impotent” and others.

The new century brought new works, although the actor’s role has changed noticeably. Now the artist’s characters are retired officers, as in the adventure series “Island of Unnecessary People,” or sports coaches, as in the melodrama “This Evening Angels Wept.”

In 2002, in the comedy “Enter through the Window,” Alexander Vasilyevich played the role of the artist Oleg Zunkov, who was so carried away by love experiments that one day he discovered four lovers at once on the threshold of his own house.

Alexander Pankratov-Cherny in the film “The Master and Margarita”

In 2005, the actor auditioned for Vladimir Bortko’s drama “The Master and Margarita”, where he played the role of Stepan Likhodeev. As befits a venerable director, Bortko gathered the best artists of our time on the work site. The main cast included Alexander Galibin, Anna Kovalchuk, Oleg Basilashvili, Kirill Lavrov, Sergei Bezrukov, Valentin Gaft.

In the same year, the artist tried on the image of a veterinarian in the comedy “Dacha for Sale.” In 2006, the artist pleased fans with his participation in the international project “Creation of Love” about the residents of the surrounding villages of the town of Zinkov, who learned to find a common language, despite the difference in views. Alexander Vasilyevich appeared on the screen in the image of an eccentric guardian of a Turkish fortress.

Alexander Pankratov-Cherny in the series “Island of Unnecessary People”

In 2008, the artist’s filmography was supplemented by work in the comedy “The Smile of God, or a Purely Odessa Story,” where Alexander appeared in his usual role - a cheerful cheerful fellow. The artist revealed his dramatic image to the audience in the film “Island of Unnecessary People,” where he played the role of Albert Bykov, one of the 13 cruise participants who survived the shipwreck. Strangers will have to survive on a desert island and find a way to contact civilization. In 2014, Pankratov-Cherny appeared in the top-rated TV series “Deffchonki”.

Pankratov-Cherny also showed himself as a director. Under the leadership of Alexander Vasilyevich, the tragicomedy “The Adventures of Count Nevzorov”, the family drama “Adult Son”, and the comedy “Nipple System” came out of the studio.

Elections

Pankratov-Cherny took part in elections to the State Duma several times. The first time was in 1995 from the Juna bloc, which did not get the required number of votes. In 1999 - from the maternal committee to combat child drug addiction. He received 4.7% of the votes and took 6th place out of 10.

Then Alexander Vasilyevich began to help people in a different way. The actor headed the children's fund “Our Generation” and is engaged in charity work with the help of the Mikhail Evdokimov public foundation.

In 2014, together with other cultural figures of Russia, he signed an appeal to V.V. Putin in support of his policy towards Ukraine and Crimea.

Childhood, family

Today it is his small homeland - Altai - that is commonly called a place of power and admired for its beautiful landscapes. And in the 1950s, during my childhood, it was a wilderness, populated mainly by exiles. His father died when he was three years old. Two brothers died of hunger. His mother, the daughter of exiled Cossacks, fought with all her might to feed him and his sister.

The boys in the village fought to the death.
One day, an opponent stuck a shiv in Sasha’s chest. The tip passed a few millimeters from the heart. And he only managed to exhale: “Lord!” Who saved?! Pankratov did not believe in God at that time and did not even know that his mother secretly baptized him as a baby. And when he grew up, she put his grandmother’s cross around his neck. Today, the actor does not part with it - he says that since his mother gave him the family heirloom, everything in his life immediately went smoothly. And then the concerts that Pankratov organized for neighbors were an outlet. His fellow villagers praised him, and he became more and more convinced: to amuse, to give people joy - this is the meaning of life. At first I wanted to become a circus clown, then I decided to become an actor. But he understood: his mother would not approve of the choice. She dreamed of a military career for her son - a good salary, government support. Therefore, after finishing eighth grade, Alexander simply ran away. I wrote home only when I entered the theater school in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod).

The wise mother, of course, forgave him. She supported her “unlucky” son, who lived from hand to mouth, as best she could - she sent a weekly parcel with a piece of lard, potatoes and a letter. “Local kids noticed that I received a large package every week, decided that I was rich, and one day they waylaid me, beat me and took away my parent’s message,” recalls Alexander Vasilyevich. -I got to the apartment half-dead. And suddenly a call! I look - these guys again. They shift from foot to foot and hand me the package: “Boy, don’t be angry!” Apparently, they saw poverty and felt ashamed..."

Books

Pankratov-Cherny began writing poetry in the 60s. They were published in the magazines “Yunost” and “Volga”. While studying at the theater school, he attended a poetry club and prepared to enter the philology department. Someone took a draft of his poem to the KGB. Alexander was required to sign that his works would no longer be available to the public.

The actor resumed his literary activity only in the 90s. The collection of lyrics “Steps to Poems” was published in 1996, followed by several more books - “I want to say ...”, “Villain Fate”. The poet was awarded the Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg Prize.

In 1999, Pankratov-Cherny was accepted into the Russian Writers' Union. He is the only Russian poet whose works have been published in the English Royal Magazine.

The actor’s talent is also highly appreciated by domestic literary critics: he became a laureate of the Petropol art awards named after A.S. Pushkin and Franz Kafka.

Joseph Kobzon at the opening of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior performed a song based on the poems of Alexander Vasilyevich.

Study and pseudonym

The future actor Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, a biography whose years of life are of interest to fans of his talent, was rebellious from childhood. After graduating from the eighth grade, he left for Nizhny Novgorod to become a student at a theater school. The boy really hoped to live independently, but the scholarship was too small. If it weren’t for the mother’s parcels that she sent to her son every week (a small piece of lard and a few potatoes), Sasha would hardly have lasted long in a foreign city. After graduating from college, he worked for several years at the Penza Drama Theater, but in the seventies he quit and went to Moscow.

In the capital, he enters VGIK in the directing department. True, he began directing films already in adulthood, but in the meantime he enjoyed the magical atmosphere of bohemian life - both cinematic and theatrical.

It was within the walls of the famous VGIK that he “attached” the second part to his surname. And all because his namesake studied with him on the course. And in order to distinguish between the two boys, classmates could clarify: “Which Sasha Pankratov is Black?”, pointing to the sultry appearance of the young brunette. Alexander liked the nickname and added it to his last name.

Awards and prizes

Awards and titles of Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, according to Wikipedia:

  • 1997 – Honored Artist of the Russian Federation;
  • 2009 – People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.

The President of Russia thanked the actor and director for his services in the development of cinematography. The actor was awarded the “Medal for Services to the Fatherland” for many years of fruitful activity in the field of culture and art.

For the best male role in the film “Dacha for Sale,” Alexander Vasilyevich received a prize at the VI festival “Smile, Russia!”

Social and literary activities of the artist, what he is doing now

When in 1999, Alexander Vasilyevich came to visit his mother and handed her his book “Steps to Poems” with the words: “Mom, I dedicated it to you!” – she was in panic and shock. “You, Sanka, still wrote poems? Were you really afraid that they would shoot you? What if they imprison you? Pankratov-Cherny later laughed in every interview: “They will shoot, in her opinion - not so scary! But if they imprison you, it’s truly terrible!”

In the same year, actor Pankratov-Cherny, on the initiative of the Mother’s Committee to Combat Drug Addiction, was nominated as a single-mandate candidate to the State Duma. The members of the committee really wanted their activities to be represented at a high level by a person beloved by all the Russian people. Not everyone understood the artist’s good intentions; in particular, writer Dmitry Bykov spoke about the actor’s desire to become a Duma deputy: “The appearance of Pankratov-Cherny in the Duma is a reflection of what is happening in the country. A man who plays either a lustful idiot or a talkative provincial is a worthy replacement for the boring Wolfovich!”

But what about the roles in war films, full of drama and pain? What about the presidency of the Our Generation children's sports fund? And finally, does it really not count that Pankratov-Cherny was on the board of the Belomir charity organization? Alexander Vasilyevich decided not to get involved in big politics - he already has enough to do in cinema, theater and public organizations. And as a poet, he continues to work: at the grand opening of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior after its restoration, Joseph Kobzon performed the prayer song “Lord, give me freedom,” the words to which were written by... yes, Alexander Pankratov-Cherny.

In addition to the high titles of Honored and People's Artist of Russia, the actor has many awards that prove the love of people from all countries of the former CIS for him. He received personal gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation “For great services in the development of cinematography”, and is an honorary citizen of Yerevan. Alexander Vasilyevich has in the list of awards the Order of Friendship, the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, and he was also awarded the title of People's Artist of South Ossetia.

According to eyewitnesses flying on the same flight, the actor was drunk and behaved inappropriately. And Pankratov-Cherny has his own version: “It was a clear provocation! I flew business class. “They recently made a monstrous program on television for my 70th birthday. They were shaking their dirty laundry again,” the actor confessed to me in his heart when I called him on the eve of his birthday. — There was a conversation about my former partner, Irina Semikletova , and supposedly our daughter, Svetlana. First of all, this is not my daughter. She was born a year and a half after I broke up with Semikletova. Secondly, I took a DNA test, but they refused. Why? The dirty lie would become obvious. Arkady Inin came to that program ,” continues the frantic Alexander Vasilyevich. — He told many interesting and funny stories about me. The editor cut out all these stories and left only one phrase: “Women love scoundrels.” It turned out that Arkady Inin, whom I respect very much, considers me a scoundrel. How so? I'm disappointed to say the least. I thought they would make a good program for the anniversary, but they spread such dirt about me. But now is the time: instead of raising acute problems about our peasantry, about unemployment in the country, they disgrace famous people in front of the audience.

PEOPLE'S TRIBUNE

— How do you know about the problems of the peasantry and unemployment?

— I constantly travel around the regions with performances, I see how people live. Pensioners do not have enough money to pay for housing and communal services and buy medicine. There are not even medical centers in the villages, not to mention hospitals and clinics. There is no ordinary village doctor. In my home village of Konevo in Altai, there are only about ten people left, God willing, and even those are old people. Young people fled because they had nothing to live on. Collective farm fields were privatized by swindlers. The people are saving themselves as if in war by their vegetable gardens; they bake bread in their ovens at home.

- Alexander Vasilyevich, you are a people’s tribune. You should go to a protest rally. In fact, you are a kind person. I was told that you greatly helped the actor Andrei Kharitonov, who recently died of cancer.

- So what? Why talk about this? We have lost an amazing artist, intelligent, sympathetic, conflict-free, kind, with a wonderful sense of humor. The guy was amazing. Andryusha brushed aside intrigues and quarrels, and always went to the aid of his colleagues. I remember one actress was an hour and a half late for a performance - she was returning from abroad, she was detained at customs. To entertain the audience before the arrival of this actress, Andrei went on stage and read poetry for an hour and a half. Being seriously ill, he traveled with our play “Hostages of Love” to Sakhalin, Irkutsk, and Krasnoyarsk. The audience loved him Gadfly. He was a fan of his profession. He underwent a difficult operation. We were looking for a replacement for him because his character dances on the roof of a car in the final scene. He had to jump onto the model. But where should he go after the operation? And he went on tour with us, climbed onto the car, and played everything with full dedication. And after the performance, backstage, I lay down on the sofa and couldn’t get up. For the sake of the audience, for the sake of work, he was ready to sacrifice his health.

When trouble happened to him - a terrible illness - neither the Actors Guild nor the Union of Cinematographers could really help him. Now they say that they gave the food to Andryusha. What kind of food did he need when he couldn’t swallow?! It was just a mockery. If anyone helped Andrey, it was Chulpan Khamatova and Evgeny Mironov, the Artist Foundation. They paid for medications that cost crazy amounts of money. My wife and I brought him painkillers from the Baltic states, which are not available in Russia. But even these medications stopped helping. It’s sad that when trouble happened to Andryusha, many who were his friends, tore their shirts, stepped aside.

- Let's talk about something positive. Where are you filming now, Alexander Vasilyevich?

— In the new season of “IP Pirogov.” This is a sweet lyrical comedy, where my partners are Lena Valyushkina and Lena Podkaminskaya. I am filming the continuation of the series “According to the Laws of Martial Time.” Now they are writing a script for the new season of the crime film “Dinosaur”, where Andrei Smirnov is starring, but I will also participate. I also travel around the country with entertainment performances. You need to live on something and also help your friends.

— Not so long ago you scared your fans: Pankratov-Cherny ended up in the hospital , his blood pressure dropped. Filming, touring the country, constant flights. They themselves said that they suffered three micro-infarctions. How is your health now?

- You won’t wait, as they say in Odessa...

DOSSIER

Alexander Pankratov-Cherny was born in the Altai region, into a large family of descendants of exiled Cossacks. From early childhood, Alexander loved to make people laugh: he staged impromptu performances, showed pantomime, told jokes and... dreamed of becoming a clown. But the mother, who was dragging the children alone, was preparing her son for military school - it was prestigious, plus full state support.

Against the wishes of his parents, Pankratov entered drama school after the 8th grade. Alexander worked at the Penza Theater for several years, after which he graduated from the directing department of VGIK. At this university, the actor took the prefix “Black” to his last name, since the young man’s classmate was his namesake.

He made his film debut in Andrei Konchalovsky’s legendary film poem “Siberiada”. He already has more than 100 roles to his credit.
