Childhood and youth
Sergei Ogurtsov (the singer’s real name) was born on May 14, 1965 in Serpukhov near Moscow. Father Mikhail Vasilyevich was a military man, and mother Lyubov Petrovna taught history at school. Lemokh has a brother, Alexey, 10 years older than him, who works as the chief doctor at the clinic.
The artist’s creative biography began long before the Kar-Man team. In his youth, Sergei managed to study at the Institute of Soviet Trade, play keyboards in taverns in the evenings and earn extra money as a DJ, and during the day pose for the Knitting magazine, published by his mother.

Sergei Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir in their youth
Once an ambitious young man attended a concert by Dmitry Malikov, where he first performed the songs “Moonlight Dream” and “You will never be mine.” Lemokh decides to meet the popular performer at all costs.
In 1989, Dmitry presented the composition “Until Tomorrow,” but he was not alone on stage: Bogdan Titomir played the drums, and Sergei Lemokh played the keys. Later, together with Bogdan, he performed as backing vocals and dancer for Vladimir Maltsev, for whom he wrote the song “Paris, Paris”.
Maltsev became the producer of the Freestyle group and Vadim Kazachenko. Arkady Ukupnik then noticed the promising guys and took them under his wing. The end of 1989 is considered the date of formation of the Kar-Man group.
Pop star
Lemokh met his first wife while he was a student at a cooperative institute.
In his free time, Sergei worked as a model. But one day everything changed. He went to Malikov’s concert. Somehow Sergei managed to meet the singer. He invited an ambitious young guy to join the team as a keyboard player.
Bogdan Titomir also played in the ensemble. Just a couple of months later, Sergei created his own group with him. In the early nineties, the Kar-Man team became mega-popular.

The tours did not stop and followed in a continuous sequence. With such a busy schedule, Sergei did not have time for his family and daughter. The artist broke up with his wife quite quickly. After that, he crossed her and her daughter out of life.
Music
The duo dedicated their first album, “Around the World,” to various cities and countries. Video clips were shot for the hits “London, Goodbye”, “Paris, Paris”, “Chio-Chio-San”. After work on the project was completed, a discord occurred in the team: Sergei was tired of entering into confrontation with Titomir and fighting for leadership in the group. The soloist did not understand why his colleague, who had nothing to do with the lyrics or arrangements, tried to “jump in over his head” and take all the glory for himself. The next record, “Kar-Mania,” was created without the participation of Bogdan.
In 1991, the team reached the apogee of popularity - they won first places in various competitions, won the Ovation Award, and Lemokh wrote a couple of songs for Natalya Gulkina and Lada Dance.
The third album “Kar-Man” was a collection of the best songs, consisting of remixes of old compositions. The group toured Russia. Sergei starred in several commercials, participated in the television game “Marathon-15”, and also wrote the soundtrack for the cartoon “Captain Pronin”.

The following year, the group released two discs at once - “Russian Massive Sound Aggression” and “Live...”. After this there was a creative lull.
The next record included slow tracks and was called “Your Sexy Thing.” “Kar-Man” went on tour to Germany and the USA, and also participated in international festivals.
In 1997, the group performed in the television show “Surprise from Pugacheva,” presenting a remix of the composition “Robinson” to the Russian pop scene. At the same time, the first item appeared in Lemokh’s personal discography - the album “Polaris”.

Personal life
Sergei does not like to talk about his personal life, but it is reliably known that he was married twice.
The artist met his first wife, Natalya, while unknown to anyone. The marriage did not stand the test of fame. Natalya wanted children and a quiet life, but he dreamed of creating and being not only heard by the public, but also visible. Divorced without scandals, division of property and other claims. During the family idyll, his wife gave Lemokh daughters Lyudmila and Alisa. She died in 2014.
The singer treated girls differently: with Alisa there was complete mutual understanding, but, according to Natalya’s mother, Sergei did not consider Lyudmila as his own. And all because she somehow declared in her hearts that her daughter was not his.

The musician does not recognize his granddaughter Marina, Lyudmila’s daughter, and has never seen her. The girl was raised by his ex-mother-in-law, since her mother was treated in a clinic for alcohol addiction. Lyudmila became addicted to the bottle after Natalya’s death and was worried that her father was indifferent to her.
In 2020, the great-grandmother herself sent Marina to a center for helping orphans so that she could study normally. And the 80-year-old woman’s strength has diminished. However, she hopes that Lyudmila, who by this time has been discharged from the rehabilitation center, will take her daughter.
True, there are difficulties with this too. The treatment involved 4 stages. Lyudmila completed the first two, and then stopped contacting psychologists. As the attending physician admitted, she is still at risk.

Lemokh did not provide any assistance in this situation and generally changed his phone number. Alice entrusted communication with her relatives to a certain young man who introduces himself as a lawyer. The youngest of the sisters also gave the artist a granddaughter.
Sergei's colleagues are rumored to be on his side. The man allegedly supported his daughter financially, but more than once became convinced that the money was spent on drinking. He agrees to take guardianship of Marina, but only if Lyudmila is deprived of parental rights.
Lemokh’s second wife is a master of sports in figure skating. For 17 years, Ekaterina Kanaeva danced in the Kar-Man group. The wise woman built respectful relationships with her husband’s adult daughters, but did not interfere in the essence of family disagreements. The couple has no children together.
Is it your own daughter?
In marriage, Sergei had two daughters. The man always treated the younger Alice well and never stopped communicating with her.
But the relationship with the eldest Lyudmila did not work out. Sergei's ex-wife Natalya died. Her grandmother says that the man disliked Lyudmila because he did not consider her his child. This affected family relationships.
The situation did not improve even at the moment when Lyudmila gave birth to her own child. The grandfather had no desire to meet his granddaughter. Talina Ivanovna (grandmother) claims that Sergei did not help his former family financially. The wife and children lived in poverty.

Sergey Lemokh now
“I have a very busy schedule, much more filming and work than there was in the early 90s. It’s more interesting to work now: the musicians are better, more professional people are coming into this field, and the audience is better. Sometimes I also act in commercials, sometimes I write musical intros for TV shows,” says Sergei about his current position.

Sergey Lemokh is now
an Artist recording singles, making mixes of everyone’s favorite hits, and participating in nostalgic concerts. Fans post photos together with the unfading star on Instagram.
Lemokh plans to further expand the target audience, so he is actively studying the Internet market and wants to release projects that will be of interest to people. Thus, on the official website of the group, the singer presented the Double Jazzy project. Sergei also remembered his former passion for rock - he created the group “Carbon Rock”.
Soloist of “Kar-Man” Sergei Lemokh: Children don’t ask for money anymore
The group "Kar-Man" appeared on the stage 25 years ago - and since then Sergei Lemokh has remained on the wave of popularity.
Shocking, completely unlike anyone else, Bogdan Titomir and Sergei Lemokh burst onto the stage with the song “Paris, Paris,” which everyone, young and old, later knew by heart. It seemed that it was impossible to repeat the success of the hit, but the guys managed to do it. And the group’s first album, entitled “Around the World,” again won the hearts of fans. Talented musicians found themselves on the crest of fame, the group was invited to all concert venues in the country, but Bogdan Titomir decided to go solo. However, the ship under the name “Kar-Man” did not sink; Sergei Lemokh himself took the helm and led the group to new shores. Captain Car-Man will turn 50 this year. We talked with the future hero of the day, who approached the significant date with good results. He is a happy husband, father and... grandfather.
– Sergey, they say you’ve shot a new video, but what else interesting is happening?
– Well, what’s interesting about musicians? These are endless concerts. That is, as it was for me at the beginning of my creativity, it is still happening now, thank God. So basically all the impressions are from the concerts. Then, just before the New Year, I have released an album of remixes of old things. And I hope that another new album will be released in the new year. A new video appeared this year. A couple of years ago we released the album “Nitro”, and there was a song “Baby”. We processed it in a new way, and it turned out to be a completely different song, which is included in the remix album, and a new video was shot for it.
– Your fans have grown up with you, they probably ask you to perform old hits.
– Yes, and in all our programs we always work on old things, 50% of our program is our favorite songs, the other half is new.
As for the fans, I can say: we are lucky, they are completely different ages. And this is very good! We have such an established crowd that goes to all our concerts; these are people from 20 to 30 years old. This bulk attends our club performances. But corporate parties, of which there are a great many now, are attended by older people. Or these are some kind of clubs of a different direction, not dance.
Soloist of “Kar-Man” Sergei Lemokh /
– Sergey, how did you celebrate the New Year? On the stage?
– A whole party of friends and I went on vacation to Germany. I really like celebrating the New Year in Berlin. About fifty years ago all the cafes there closed at night and it was boring. But not now. Now with the New Year celebration there is complete order. Yes, everything on the main streets is closed. But there are establishments that are open all night, nightclubs, for example. That is, you need to know Berlin at night properly. At night, like in Moscow, there are a lot of establishments where everything is working. For the last two years we’ve been hanging out in Berlin, and they’re still putting on shows in the central squares. So on December 31st everything is as it should be. People even gather in hotels. And although some establishments are closing, there are a whole bunch of cafes. And in Germany there is a very developed roadside cafe network. They are no worse class than city restaurants of the same class. In Russia, the concept of “restaurant” is greatly distorted. European restaurants – there doesn’t have to be some kind of pathos, salmon and so on. These are fairly simple, democratic establishments with home-cooked food. Very popular among the Germans.
[:rsame:]
– Many people like to celebrate the New Year exotically, under a palm tree by the sea. Sun, heat, beach.
– I don’t really like the heat. I am a northern person after all. My wife is also of northern origin. It seems to us that abrupt climate change is not good. Therefore, I don’t really like sudden changes in temperature. If it were summer now, yes, I would go somewhere to hot countries. I really don’t like climate change. Therefore, for me, going somewhere to the beach in winter is difficult. And although I adapt normally, I think it’s not very good if you go into 40-degree heat for two weeks during the Russian winter, and then return to minus 20. This is very bad for the body.
– You are a successful musician, but how was your personal life?
– I never talk about my family. The only information: I can say that my children are already quite old. The eldest daughter Lyudmila is still searching for her niche and has not yet decided on a profession. The youngest daughter, Alisa, graduated from the Agricultural Academy, but works as a manager at a well-known enterprise.
I absolutely do not interfere in their personal life. I believe that the time for parents is somewhere around the age of 18, and then the child must choose for himself.
Sergey Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir /
– Many artists teach their children to be on stage from childhood. They appear in videos and sing duets. For some reason you didn’t show your girls.
– Because a child must have an inclination towards music, then he will be able to achieve something. It’s like in sports – the sooner, the more successful. For example, I have been studying music since I was five years old. And by the end of school I had decided on everything - and on the choice of profession, by and large. But, despite this, he graduated from the trade institute, continuing to do what he loved. He also sent his daughters to music school - Alisa and Lyudmila have a musical education. But I didn't see anything there that could be supported. That is, they are both very talented, but becoming a star on the pop scene, especially now on the electronic scene, is very difficult. The eldest tried to DJ, but it also somehow died out for her. She is a creative person, she grabs onto everything.
– Probably, you have to support the girls financially?
– From time to time, of course, I help. But much less than it used to be. Now is the most important period - there is no need to stuff children with your help. Let the person feel independent. Of course, they live separately. They have their own apartments. Because, it seems to me, it is a very big mistake when children live with their parents until old age. A person who takes care of children immediately deprives them of social adaptation, which should occur not through communication, not through the Internet, but through communication with a person. And the child begins to communicate with other people, mainly when he goes to work. And there is no need to interfere with this. There is no need to get involved in life. The main thing is to prevent crime.
– Sergey, what gifts did you give to your daughters and granddaughters for the New Year? What are they asking of you? Probably gadgets?
– They ask for more money. Not granddaughters, but more their mothers. That's why I give money, but sometimes I buy something I need myself. My wife is an expert in this; she can find out in advance what a person needs for this certain period. I haven’t prepared anything for my granddaughters yet except small souvenirs. But usually we go to the store and I buy them all clothes for the winter, for example. After all, now is a different time. Earlier, in Soviet times, gifts were placed under the Christmas tree. And they opened them exactly at twelve at night. As a child, I always ran to see what they would put in the little bags from Santa Claus, but nothing came of it. Now is a different time, it is not enough to put Santa Claus at the Christmas tree. My granddaughters will still believe it, but my daughter won’t. They have already grown up.
Soloist of “Kar-Man” Sergei Lemokh /
– How does your second wife, Ekaterina, feel about your daughters from your first marriage?
“She believes that an outsider, even if he treats my children very well, cannot participate in their lives like mom and dad. But, naturally, she helps with advice whenever she can. Ekaterina supports me in everything, helps me in everything and talks to me about children.
– Do you and Katya want children together?
- We are working on it. But in general, the family is already quite large. That's why we're still thinking.
– Sergey, you are not only a caring dad, but also a happy grandfather. Tell us about your granddaughters.
[:rsame:]
– To be honest, I’m not a great grandfather! Just like I’m no dad, I’m no grandfather either. I really love playing with my granddaughters. I'm a bit of an inadequate person. That’s why my games in everyday life are all so crazy, unrealistic. But my granddaughters love it. The eldest is already a schoolgirl, going to the second grade, the youngest is still a preschooler.
It so happened that I was a late child in the family. My father fought throughout the war, my mother was in Moscow throughout the war. Hunger, cold, devastation. They were adults when I was born. They have not been with me for a long time. Only my brother and I remained, he is ten years older than me. He is an excellent doctor, now works as the director of a dispensary.
But I became a dad early and a grandfather too. I am lucky that I already have granddaughters.
– Did you go to parent-teacher meetings with your granddaughters?
– I never went to any parent-teacher meetings, because what’s the point of teachers if they tell me how to raise a child! I myself know how to raise a child from my parents and do it at home. And if the child comes to school, this is no longer my territory.
– It’s hard to call you a grandfather! How do you support yourself?
- I have a lot of work. Performances, concerts, tours, parties. I have a very busy schedule. I admit that I now have much more filming and work than I did in the early 90s. It’s more interesting to work now: the musicians are better, more professional people are coming into this field, and the audience is better. Sometimes I also act in commercials, sometimes I write musical intros for TV shows. So there is no need to relax. And if a man is busy with work, doesn’t sit at home and doesn’t drink, then everything is always fine. There is no special recipe. Well, as for the gym, I think there should definitely be one.
[:same:]
– Didn’t you yourself want to produce someone from the beginners? Or is such work already underway?
– In order to closely and seriously produce someone, you need a lot of start-up capital. Unfortunately, this is now difficult to do in the modern environment. I work in the commercial field, specifically in commercial pop music, in electronic music, here, unfortunately, without large investments it is impossible to push even a super-talented person through. And from time to time, yes, I work with some groups. I now have a rock band, absolutely young guys. Now I'm interested in rock again. I started with rock. In fact, until 90, in addition to my work as a DJ, working as a musician in a restaurant, I also played in a rock band. That is, I started with this. Now I'm happy to return to it. Separate from Car-Man, I have a group called Carbon Rock. We don’t have an official website or anything yet, but everything is being prepared.
This year we will go to a very famous festival. They must go to the North, to Arkhangelsk, for the fateful festival. We are currently writing songs for our first album. So as a producer I act, but mostly I produce myself. But as for working with other artists, this happens from time to time, but this is when I am invited to sing something. I have a lot of contacts with DJs where I sing some vocal tracks. Few people know about this, I don’t advertise it. But in fact, if we take everything in general, I don’t have enough time now. I have a lot of work to do myself. I make my own arrangements, make music, I have always written and write the lyrics myself. And this takes a lot of time. I practically have no free time.
