Jared was born on July 19, 1982 in the large Texas city of San Antonio in the family of a tax employee and a teacher.
The father is Polish by origin (hence the surname, which is unusual for the American ear, pronounced in Polish as “Padalecki”), and the mother’s ancestors include Germans, English, Scots and French.
Jared is the middle child in the family; he has a sister and brother.
He became interested in the acting profession early and already at the age of twelve began specialized lessons in acting.
