Actor Sergei Chirkov
After the death of his father, Sergei’s mother remarried, and a daughter, Katya, appeared in the family. The sister is 20 years younger than the artist, and for the girl he tries to be not just a friend, but an assistant and an example.

At school, Chirkov played in KVN and played darts professionally. This sport helped in the future to prepare for filming in the detective story “Day of Wrath,” where his character speaks German. The actor hung pieces of paper with phrases next to the target and memorized the words as he approached the darts.

In a small town, Sergei could only obtain a technical specialty at a local technical school, but he was drawn to a completely different profession. He leaves for the capital and, on the first try, enters the most prestigious Russian university - Moscow State University at the Faculty of Arts, majoring in theater arts. But after completing the 1st year, Sergei Chirkov decides to pay more attention to cinematography. He takes the documents from Moscow State University and goes to VGIK, where he ends up in Andrei Panin’s workshop.

Sergei Chirkov
The young man did not stay there either and went to study at RATI (GITIS), where his teacher was the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Vasilyevich Zhenovach. And here there were some nuances: Chirkov changed the purely acting department to the acting group of the directing department.

“This allowed me to approach the chosen work not only from an acting, but also from a director’s point of view, to better understand and correctly analyze the material. In addition, constant existence with a maximum load gives resilience to the profession and the ability to work 18 hours on site.”

Sergei graduated from the academy in 2009. As part of his examination and diploma work, the graduate played Nikolai Rostov in the play “Leo Tolstoy. Scenes" and Nikolai Stavrogin staged based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel "Demons".

Movie

Seryozha’s debut took place in the film “Black Ball”, which was released in 2003. He played the main role - the guy Denis. It is interesting that the director doubted the abilities of the young performer for a long time, but, as the future showed, it was completely in vain. Sergei played so well that his talent immediately gained many fans. Then the actor starred in episodic roles, although he did it with the same dedication, showing high skill. And only in 2009 the film “At the Game” was released, which became fatal for Chirkov, as it brought him worldwide fame. Today Sergei has many offers, directors and audiences love him. This young talented and promising actor does not complain about the lack of work, since he has many offers in the film industry.

The Ukrainian language was also demanded by the magazine “Lel” (1992-2003), which was conceived as a purely national project. On the pages of Lelya, in particular, in the translations of Sergei Chirkov, the prose of Arkady Averchenko, Viktor Astafiev, Konstantin Vaginov, Vladimir Voinovich, Mikhail Weller, Matthew Bull, Sylvia Bourdon, Anaïs Nin, Anne-Marie Villefranche, poetry of Alexander Blok, Valery Bryusov appeared , Alexander Vertinsky, Leonid Vysheslavsky, Andrei Voznesensky.

"On the game"

Sergei prepared in advance for filming the film. He even began to spend a long time playing computer games in order to better fit into the role. On the set, he met Kostya Pikiner, who was the world champion in one of the computer games. He invited the young actor to the club. There Seryozha talked with real gamers, observed the coordinator, since he had such a role in the film. He watched how he sat, stood, what he did, how he behaved, and so on. He used all this in the movie.

We also worked with weapons during the filming. Chirkov later admitted to journalists that this was his first experience with such equipment, for which he is grateful to the director of the film.

In general, Sergei was fond of games from a young age. This probably helped him quickly get into the role, because he played confidently and very believably in the film.

"Angel or demon"

In the film “Angel or Demon,” the director chose the most suitable role for Chirkov. Sergei Chirkov, whose filmography is full of interesting works, played Felix in the film, a demon in the guise of a good-natured guy. For more than three hundred years, he has happily served the forces of darkness. Sometimes it seems to everyone that a good-natured smile appears on his face from time to time, but in reality it is an evil grin. Felix’s main goal is to bring evil to people, for this he infiltrates the trust of mere mortals and forces them to “dance to his tune.” External beauty and coldness in the soul - this is what attracted people to Felix.

The film “Angel or Demon,” which was released last year, was greeted with particular delight by the audience. Here Seryozha played so believably that the viewer believed him. But who is he really: an angel or a demon?!

– What is your relationship with your real sister Katya?

– She’s only 12, but she feels like she’s 30! She is very mature, perhaps also because now there is such an information flow that I did not have as a child. I had a cinema, swings, abrasions... Fortunately, in addition to the tablet, she is also interested in music. So I bought her a piano for practicing.

– You played in STS projects that are popular among teenagers – “Angel or Demon”, “Gamers”. Did your sister ask for autographs for her school friends?

“She’s growing up wonderfully, she perceives me and our relationship with her very competently.” True, there was a moment when in the project “New Year’s Trouble” I played the older brother of Louise-Gabriella Brovina (Anush from the series “The Last of the Magikyans”). Katya was about eight years old at the time, and she was very jealous. When Gabriella called me brother on camera, my sister was indignant: “No, that’s my brother!” ( Laughs.

)

– Does Katya consult with you?

“I’m lucky that my sister is friends with my girlfriend, who, fortunately, knows everything about clothes, sports, and nutrition.

– Does your girlfriend help you with choosing your wardrobe?

- Yes. Thank God, there is a person next to me who can look at me professionally from the outside and tell me what suits me and what doesn’t. And I trust her! For me personally, shopping is trash!

– In general, what is important to you in relationships with the opposite sex?

– I really love sane women! Let there be cockroaches, we need them! The main thing is that they make friends with mine ( Smiles.

). I really like collected real girls, I always wanted my soulmate to be my friend as well. In our profession, it is important to have an understanding and flexible person nearby. And, of course, any relationship is work - you have to make concessions and compromises.

– Your hero Roma is afraid of meeting his girlfriend’s father, oligarch Platonov. Have you often found yourself in his place in your life?

– Everything always went fine for me! Moreover, I was the first to suggest this. I developed especially warm relationships with my mothers. It even happened that I broke up with a girl, and ran to her parents with a cake ( Smiles.

).

– You have a lot of photos together on Instagram with Alexey Chadov. What picture started your friendship?

– Before we met, I knew him from the films “War” by Alexei Balabanov, “Games of Moths” by Andrei Proshkin. We met personally at the “Fighter” audition. Before the project, I thought that Lech was a superficial type, perhaps because of his role in cinema. But on set I watched how he worked and realized that Chadov is a serious artist and an excellent partner. He is a man of the old school, a real man who knows how to make friends, and we were on the same wavelength.

– The main character of “How I Became Russian” moved from America to Russia. Can you imagine yourself living in another country?

– Not yet, although I’ve been to a lot of places. I lived in Thailand for two years while filming the project “Island of Unnecessary People.” Then an idea came to me: maybe buy a small house there. And then I thought, why? Moreover, I really love the place where I live now, so I don’t see the point in moving yet.

– Every artist has a significant role in their life that changed their whole life. What is yours?

– In the acting profession, everything depends on how you are perceived. You understand that you have to do something to become not “this boy”, but “the artist Chirkov.” Such a moment happened after I starred in Pavel Sanaev’s film “At the Game.” I also consider Pasha’s role in the TV series “Island of Unnecessary People” special, because before that only young people knew me, and after that, viewers over 50 recognized me.

– What do your fans write to you on social networks?

– By the way, I owe it to Chadov that I finally created an account on Instagram – he blew my mind ( Smiles.

).
As for the comments, I read them. This encourages you especially in those moments when you feel like a failure. But I don’t answer, because if you single out one person, then you’ll feel like you’ve robbed the rest. In general, my girlfriend often says that in my profession I need to be more active in social networks. For me, it’s better to read the script ( Smiles.
).

– Can you imagine yourself like this in 20 years? What kind of artist will Chirkov become?

– If now I play students, then I’ll probably play graduates ( Smiles.

). But seriously, I would like to change qualitatively and arrive at this age correctly. So I look at my Western colleagues (for example, Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Norton), they age very competently in the frame! That's what I want.
