Memorable, charismatic, bright - this is how one can characterize the roles that actor Viktor Ivanovich Kosykh played in Soviet cinema as a child. For many boys, the films in which he starred were cult films - “Welcome or No Trespassing”, “The Elusive Avengers”, “Front Behind the Front Line”. Having gained acting experience very early, Ivan Viktorovich fell in love with the profession and devoted himself selflessly to cinema throughout his life.
Biography of Victor Kosykh
The future artist was born on January 27, 1950 in provincial Alapaevsk - an ordinary small mining and industrial town, of which there are many in the Sverdlovsk region. Even in infancy he was left without a father. Vitya’s mother, Ninel Dmitrievna, who worked as a school teacher at that time, married a second time. The boy’s stepfather was the famous actor Ivan Kosykh, who raised him as his own child, officially formalizing the adoption. After graduating from VGIK, my stepfather joined the Film Actor Theater Studio and took Viktor Kosykh’s family to Moscow.
Viktor Kosykh as a child in the frame of one of the first films
The boy's life was accidentally but very dramatically changed by the arrival of Mosfilm representatives to the school. The educational institution was not exemplary or special, it was simply located near a film studio. At that time, director Elem Klimov was selecting guys for his film “Welcome or No Trespassing.” Vitya, together with his classmates, took part in the selection, selflessly recited poetry, getting excited and bulging his eyes funny.
Viktor Kosykh as Kostya Inochkin
The boy was approved for the main role of Kostya Inochkin. True, at first he was intended to play another hero - Marat. But according to the script, he had to dive naked into the river and, embarrassed by the ridicule of his peers, Vitya Kosykh tried with all his might to show his best side in auditions for another role.
The actor's childhood and first film role
Victor was born in Alapaevsk. It so happened that very early on he was left without a father and the boy was raised by his stepfather - the famous actor Ivan Kosykh - who gave him his last name, officially adopting the child.
When the family moved to live in the capital, Vitya began to study at school from Mosfilm. At this time, director Elem Klimov was selecting young artists for roles in his film.
Kosykh, along with other guys, went to the audition and, trying to successfully pass the selection, read poetry brightly and with expression. The boy's talents were noticed and he was offered the role - not of the main character, however, but of his friend - Marat, who had to jump into nettles without pants.
Victor didn’t want to undress on camera at all to avoid ridicule from his classmates. He expressed his concerns to the director and he met the boy halfway, allowing him to try out for the role of Kostya Inochkin. And the young actor played so convincingly that Klimov approved Kosykh for the main role.
The resulting film was very well received by young and adult viewers, and the guys who starred in the comedy got a chance to make a name for themselves in the world of cinema.
Cinematic youth
The film “Welcome or No Trespassing,” in which the young actor played his first role, won the great love of Soviet teenagers and adults, but was withdrawn after the first release. Critics considered it "anti-Khrushchev." But for Victor the road to cinema was already open - many film lovers remember and love him for his role as Danka in The Elusive Avengers. One after another, he received interesting roles in cult films of the Soviet period. True, most of them were minor, but, meanwhile, no less memorable for the viewer.
Film "Welcome or No Trespassing" (1964)
Filming in the role of the “elusive” Danka with the legendary director Edmond Keosayan became a real adventure in the life of the young artist. He easily got used to the adventurous role of a boy who, together with his peers, took revenge on the robbers from Old Man Burnash’s gang.
Even at the filming stage, the film promised to become very popular. The film with the participation of Vitya Kosykh was watched by almost the entire country in the first year, and it was decided to shoot a sequel to “The Elusive” - “New Adventures of the Elusive...” and “The Crown of the Russian Empire...”. The actor later recalled this period as the most significant in his life, although there were more than 50 roles.
Popular roles
A brilliant debut was followed by a role in the drama “Father of a Soldier” (1964), where the boy played together with his adoptive father. A year later, the aspiring artist received a prize for his work in the film “They’re Ringing, Open the Door” (1965). The star role of Viktor Kosykh is considered to be the image of Danka he created in the film “The Elusive Avengers” (1966). It was he and his colleague who suggested the name of the film to the director. The result was a real masterpiece about young and desperate guys who heroically defended the fate of the young country during the Civil War. The audience loved the film so much that they definitely wanted a sequel and always with the same cast. The director did not keep him waiting long, and two years later the “elusive” people spoke from the screens about their new adventures.
After graduating from school, the young man was faced with a choice of profession. Having decided to become a border guard, he entered the Moscow School, but after receiving his education he was in no hurry to find a job. Acting talent and love for creativity prevailed, and Victor took the document to the Institute of Cinematography. In parallel with my studies, filming continued, but the main roles were no longer offered. Especially possible about (1973) and “Cold Summer of '53” (1987). Like many people in creative professions, Viktor Ivanovich had a hard time in the 90s. He did not act at all, but in order to somehow earn money, he toured the country - organized creative evenings and shared his past achievements.
Beware of the car: rock in the fate of an artist
In the biography of Viktor Kosykh there were cases that could dramatically change his fate or even deprive the actor of his life. All of them were related to cars. Three times the artist was involved in major traffic accidents.
The first case, when Viktor Ivanovich, driving with his son, unwittingly became the culprit of a terrible accident, could have cost him his freedom. While driving, passengers unexpectedly jumped out in front of him, and the driver had to turn onto the sidewalk, next to which the diner tables were located. As a result, three people were injured, one of whom later died in hospital. But the investigation concluded that the actor could not prevent the tragedy, and was acquitted.

Biography
Viktor Nikolaevich Volkov (Kosykh) was born in the early fifties in the Sverdlovsk region. His mother worked as a physics teacher at school, and his father suddenly passed away when the boy was still very young. Later he was adopted by his stepfather, the famous actor Ivan Kosykh. Subsequently, Victor changed his last name and patronymic, becoming Viktor Ivanovich Kosykh.
After graduating from school, the future actor entered the Moscow Border College, but after receiving a diploma, he did not go to work in his specialty, but submitted documents to VGIK and took the course of Sergei Bondarchuk. At that time, Viktor Kosykh already had several leading roles in famous films.
Actor's family, personal life
After graduating from VGIK, Viktor Ivanovich Kosykh got married. He lived with his wife Tatyana for about 20 years. The marriage was “different” - bright, with ardent love, quarrels, separations and even indifference, as is the case in most acting families. The relationship gradually became obsolete and both spouses understood this. They broke up. The children of Viktor Kosykh (daughter and son), born in this union, remained with their mother.

The actor’s daughter from his first marriage, Kristina Kosykh, followed her father’s path. Even as a child, she found herself on a film set. The girl starred in a children's musical film about the friendship of children from all over the planet who, without knowing foreign languages, understand each other perfectly through music.
As an adult, she took part in a documentary about her father, “Don’t hit him, he’s an artist!” directed by I. Ulyanov. Together with her, A. Pankratov-Cherny, E. Proklova, A. Mitta, V. Vasiliev and other famous actors starred in the film, many of whom were close friends with Viktor Kosykh. But Christina did not connect her destiny with cinema and theater, choosing a different profession.
Victor Kosykh's daughter Kristina
After his divorce from Tatyana, there were no changes in Viktor Kosykh’s personal life for ten years. And suddenly fate gave him a gift - a meeting with his last love. Elena, who became the actor’s second wife, was half his age and worked as an investigator. In 2001, Viktor Kosykh’s wife gave birth to his daughter. Having become a father again at the age of 51, the actor admitted that he experienced a special happiness, incomparable to anything he had previously experienced.

Film career
The biography of Viktor Kosykh and his future fate developed quite predictably. He studied at the Moscow Border Guard College, then entered S.F. Bondarchuk’s course at VGIK, and continued to act in films. After graduating from VGIK, Viktor Kosykh’s career developed successfully. This was largely facilitated by his early entry into cinema and the roles that made the actor famous as a teenager, and, of course, by the fact that the mentor of the course in which the young man studied was S.F. Bondarchuk. Victor acted constantly. Every year a film with his participation was released, and even though he most often played minor roles in the films, he was still recognizable and always had a job.

The most famous films with Viktor Kosykh:
- “Tavern on Pyatnitskaya” (1978);
- “Border Dog Scarlet” (1979);“
- Anxious Sunday" (1983); "Cold Le
- then fifty-third"
- (1987); "Mayhem" (
- 1989); “Maestro Thief” (1994).
With the onset of perestroika and the advent of the difficult 90s, like other film actors, Viktor Ivanovich experienced a severe shortage of work and attention from directors. Filmmaking almost stopped; many artists found themselves below the poverty line and felt the tragic impossibility of their own creative realization.
During these years, many rumors appeared about the actor. Some said that he became an alcoholic and worked as a janitor, others said that Viktor Kosykh was serving a sentence in a colony. Such rumors were born against the backdrop of well-founded and very real stories of other guys who became famous thanks to filming “Welcome...” and “The Elusives...”. Some of them actually worked in those days as plumbers, laborers, and loaders.
But Viktor Kosykh did not change his profession even for the sake of difficult times. He continued to delight his fans by traveling around the country and organizing creative evenings, during which he talked about his roles, how famous films were made, and about his co-stars. At the same time, he continued to work in the theater.
Then there were several more roles that didn’t even have proper names. A van driver in “Saboteur”, a theater party organizer in “Star of the Epoch”, a man in a tunic in “The Creation of Love” - this is how Viktor Kosykh’s roles were written in the credits. In the last years of his life, he worked at the Temp Theater at the Union of Theater Workers. The actor's life was cut short when he turned 61.
