Forensic expert on the case of Vlad Bakhov, who disappeared near Smolensk: The exact cause of death is unlikely to be established

About startup, bloggers, drugs

1986 Donetsk city. For what reason did you decide to devote your whole life to Hip Hop? In 1986, I saw Breakdance dancing for the first time in the Palace of Pioneers in the city of Donetsk, there I saw guys in fashionable jeans with patch pockets in high-top sneakers, and who were doing some glide movements, sending some waves through the body, and it was really very attractive and interesting, so I decided to take up Break Dancing.

And through Break Dance I learned that Break Dance is an integral part of Hip-Hop culture, and with each step I went deeper into this culture and at a certain moment I realized that this culture must be created in Russia, then it was still the USSR and, in in principle, our vast Motherland, which speaks Russian, I take all the union republics into account, they all looked primarily to Moscow, to Russia, and we ended up with such an international society - the Hip Hop society of the 80s, which was very suitable for the culture Hip Hop.

Vlad Valov in an interview with Music Online ComToday it is customary for artists to measure success by a concert at the Olympic Stadium. The Olympic Stadium can accommodate a maximum of 35 thousand spectators. How many spectators did you gather at your solo concerts? We gathered 120 thousand people on Maidan in 2007. Was this your solo concert? Yes, it was my solo concert. Do you think that bloggers are getting into Rap? Bloggers... Of course, now everything has been turned upside down - no one is punishing anyone. Now “home rappers (those guys who don’t party, who have never gone out, don’t know real Hip Hop) who study Hip Hop on YouTube or through some other information channels. Thus, bloggers also came to our Hip Hop. Bloggers are very funny guys - they are ready to do anything to become popular on their channels. They very often do not understand at all what they have gotten themselves into.

Since Karabas Barabas stands over every blogger with a whip, it’s probably no longer a secret that there are almost no large “free” bloggers anymore - all bloggers sit under someone. Bloggers who have millions of views, believe me, each such blogger has their own Karabas Barabas who makes money from them - from advertising and so on. I recently visited one such blogger and had a very fun conversation and learned a lot of things.

I want to tell you that when a blogger gets involved in Rap, in the 90s they used to throw bottles at them on stage, but now this is not accepted. It’s time, it seems to me, to return this tradition, because a person who starts rapping must love Hip-Hop, be part of Hip-Hop and then create Rap.

Thus, tomorrow Kirkorov will begin to read Rap and become a rapper in one step, this is not correct, because Rap is part of Hip-Hop culture. And in order to read your Rap and convey some information, you need to know this culture and, most importantly, live it, and not pretend. All bloggers are fake rap artists.

Vlad Valov in an interview with Music Online Com about his attitude to drugs

Drugs. To be honest, I've gotten tired of this topic lately. This is necessary, they are 18 years old and they don’t know what to do and that’s why they use drugs. At 18, it seems like your whole life is in front of you. If you are 18 years old and you don’t know what to do - don’t use drugs - join the army. Vlad, your attitude towards drugs. I have always had a bad attitude towards drugs. I understand very well what soft drugs are. When I came to live in Donetsk from Moscow - it was the fifth grade, I found out that the whole of Donetsk had been smoking weed since the 7th and 8th grades... During breaks, the kids would just go out to school and smoke weed. What about the Soviet Union: education and so on? In the Donbass, this was always accepted, but it was not accepted here in Moscow in St. Petersburg, this grass simply grew there, and it was passed on from generation to generation.

There, people were divided into two camps: some became drug addicts, and others went to the horizontal bars... I immediately chose the horizontal bars for myself, because I wanted to be strong, healthy, and so on. Honestly, everyone who hung on the horizontal bars - these guys achieved a lot. And I can say that I had a record - I did pull-ups 55 times.

However, I have tried weed, just not hard drugs. I want to say that drugs are bad, weed in a mild form - don’t live on it, because the brains rot, people turn into amorphous people. I buried at least 15 friends with hard drugs. I don’t recommend it to anyone - it’s a direct path to death. On my own behalf, I will add that I have not smoked or drunk at all (not even beer) for more than ten years. And at the same time I feel great. (Mikhail Mikhalev)

Vlad Valov (Sheff): “I feel sorry for the Russian province, which considers Basta a rapper”

WHY IS “VERSUS” NOT A RAP?

– Rap is poetry that grows on rhythms. Hip-hop initially had a broken beat, under which MCs scattered their slogans, thereby forcing them to come up with new dance elements. Any poet can rhyme, but not everyone can do it in rhythms of 70 beats per minute, in the classic 90 beats per minute or in 120 BPM. Therefore, if you want “Versus” to be called rap battles, turn on the beat and invite the country’s main rap specialists to the jury. Gnoyny’s success as a rap artist looks, to put it mildly, unconvincing to the classics of the genre. Let him beat to the rhythm, as is customary in hip-hop, and then we will know the real result. For now, don't call it a rap battle, call this action a dirty literary battle, stand-up or something else.

ABOUT THE REASONS FOR THE SUCCESS OF PURULENT

– Now the Internet is changing the rules of the game in many areas of activity, but rap music was created in the streets. I can only guess what the fame of the “rap battler” Gnoyny is based on - using leverage via the Internet, promoting his dubious rap work using YouTube and Facebook. And people far from the culture, having no idea about this genre, supported it. Today everything is done very simply - put in a little money and you will get your share of fame. This is the wrapper they bought into. Rap is complex rhythmic poetry. To create it, you need to have very different skills and talents.

ABOUT DOLPHIN

– Dolphin brokedanced with us back in the 80s, he was in our hip-hop party. He was a member of the excellent project “Oak Guy” and the popular “Bachelor Party”, but one day he decided to stop and go out. And it happened like this. We were in the studio in Moscow writing the album “Bad B Raiders,” where we invited various famous artists from the world of hip-hop, and suddenly, out of the blue, he said into the microphone: “I hate the music of blacks and themselves!” I decided to leave this phrase, but he thereby forever cut himself off from hip-hop culture and after that went somewhere in the alternative direction. What he is doing now is far from rap or hip-hop, it is poetry with musical accompaniment. But I respect him, at least because he doesn’t call his work rap music.

ABOUT THE CRIMINALIZATION OF RUSSIAN RAP

– Rap all over the world has a criminal connotation; it is the music of the streets and, first of all, of poor areas. This kind of rap music even has a name - gangsta rap. Russian rap is no exception, especially since our rap began in the 90s, during the times of gangster lawlessness and corrupt cops. And now these are echoes. Look at what series are on TV, what films are produced by world studios, what computer games teenagers play. The topic of crime affects all layers and ages of our society. Rap lyrics in this case are simply a reflection of the social culture of the country.

ABOUT BASTA

“I don’t even know anyone who knows at least one of Basta’s hits.” Basta is a pop-rap artist from the Gazgolder label and has nothing to do with hip-hop. He is an ordinary artist with pretensions to rap. His listener, as I suspect, is on Russian Radio; during his work break he reads the glossy unisex magazine GQ. A large promotional group is working on Basta, and in the meantime, other talented artists on the label have been left out of work. But this is a matter for the label, I’m not going to discuss it. I’ll just say that I feel sorry for the Russian province, which believes in such awards and believes that Basta performs real rap. You need to see the line between real rap, which is part of hip-hop, and pop rap. Basta is Bogdan Titomir in the past.

When rock completely fell into disarray in the second half of the 90s, we occupied its entire niche. After we made rap music very popular, everyone started coming to us. I recently judged a St. Petersburg rap battle between two deputies. Here they stand, staring at the monitors and reading some poems from them. They couldn’t even learn them by heart, but they cleverly portrayed their freestyle skills. And this is what I must judge! Guys, no need, stop with these rap battles.

ABOUT DETSL'S FATHER

–Alexander Tolmatsky appeared in my life when I brought hip-hop culture to its peak. And he needed to save his Muz-TV channel, where he worked as a producer. He offered me a partnership and unlimited promotion of hip-hop culture on his channel. Tolmatsky was involved in money, and I was just creating the movement and ideology of the Bad B. Alliance projects (Bad Balance, Decl, White Chocolate, Legal Business, Sheff). Over time, new people from other cultures or those who wanted to rewrite the course of history began to appear in rap. The same Oksimiron once stated in an interview that no one had read rap in Russia before him, and Basta generally managed to avoid meeting me for 15 years. Yes, for them it's just business. Behind these guys are people with money who don't know hip-hop culture. And I am in quiet confusion when the green media, not understanding who is who in rap, draw new stars and write “Gnoyny and Oksimiron are the best rappers,” and Basta became “cover of the year.”

ABOUT TIMATI’S “FULL SCHEDULE” AT THE “OLYMPIYSKY”

“There are simply specially trained promoters who are paid to bring people to such concerts. This is such a trick - to catch up with people in order to show the success of the artist. 3 thousand tickets have been sold, but we need to fill the hall with 30 thousand people. The company to which the artist is signed begins to pay money so that he can have a “full house.” Timati's team has exactly the same methods of work - driving the crowd. The fact is that if an artist shows that he can pack a stadium, then he receives more invitations to corporate events, money comes from advertising, etc. It has long been known that our show business is a bubble.

ABOUT “RECORD” VIEWS OF RAPPERS ON YOUTUBE

– Do you think that so many people really watched the battle between Oksimiron and Gnoyny? The real audience of rap music in Russia is 500 thousand, plus a couple of million passers-by and sympathizers. Where do these 20 million views come from?! This is purchased traffic to increase your price. Previously, music was distributed through disks, cassettes and TV broadcasts, but now all this has been replaced by the Internet. Now here is the main promotion of intellectual property. Therefore, whoever promotes artists now buys them a virtual audience. This is normal, like they are building a megamall and waiting for visitors.

ABOUT THE RISE OF DECL

- OK, I'll tell you how it is. It all started when I met with TV presenter Aurora. She really liked us, Bad Balance, and she invited us to appear on Muz-TV. I said that I didn’t have the money to pay for all these broadcasts: everyone knew that Muz-TV was the most corrupt music broadcasting. Aurora wanted to dissuade me and offered to organize a meeting with the new producer of the channel, Alexander Tolmatsky. We met. He began to offer cooperation, but on his own terms, and I already had close cooperation with MTV, and I could afford to bargain. As a result, we agreed that we would be partners on Hip-Hop-Info, but they would give us their broadcasting opportunities on Muz-TV. And suddenly Tolmatsky says: “Listen, my son is growing up here. Look at him, will you?” I brought Kirill - he had just arrived from a Swiss school. Such a funny little guy with a bob hairstyle. Well, I made him a rapper. Even Decl is my name.<…> I went for it consciously and caught up with Decl the whole generation that followed him, and therefore hip-hop! I came up with a real hero for national schools, through whom I carried the word. A year later, star fever struck the guy, and it was difficult for him to fight it. I helped him as best I could, involved him in creativity. And he announced that he should try to write the third album on his own. Decl, I made two magnificent albums that blew up all the cities without exception. But the bar was still set too high.

ABOUT LIGALIZE

– I noticed him in 1997–1998, thought that the guy read in an original way, and invited him to record the track “Are you ready?!” to our album “Jungle City”. At this time, Micah just leaves, who hints: “Take Legalize instead of me.” At this point, as a producer, I am making Legalize his own group, “Legal Business,” which includes NPans and DJ Tonik. But when the band and I went to New York to record the album “Stone Forest,” he asked to take him with us, although I was going to take a completely different person as a soloist. This, of course, after a while destroyed his own project, because he simply fell out of it. The group stops touring. In the end, it turned out that the song “A Pack of Cigarettes” was played to death by all the channels - but there were no concerts, because the group no longer existed. Only Decl had concerts. Legalize retreated more and more into himself, although I warned him about all the risks associated with moving to Bad B.

Vlad Valov in an interview with Music Online Com about sports

Do you like to play football, what place does sport occupy in your life? At a certain point, I realized that sports are necessary - you sit in front of the computer all the time, all the time in a seated state. I've been to gyms and I can't understand how you can run on a track. I just tried to run - it’s not interesting to run. And I remembered that there is such a great game of football. I played football all the time - since childhood. I didn't become a good football player only because I broke my leg. I had a severe fracture. The doctors told me that I would not become a professional football player. But football is with me throughout my life.

And in 2012 I created my own football team, the Raiders. Now every Saturday from 15.30 to 18.30 we play football in Luzhniki on the most central and best sports ground, where we have to pay 15,000 rubles per hour. Thanks to the fact that we all love this business, we find opportunities and train, and then also compete in different tournaments.

About Rap Battles

How do you feel about Battle Rap? (Versus, 140 BPM Battle, Slovo SPB) In 1994, I created the Rap Music festival, and I actually started doing all this. Everyone started to lick this from Rap Music, we have competitions between teams and individuals. And there you definitely need Freestyle and so on. The only thing that distinguishes us from all these other companies is that we do it all in the Hip Hop style and we rap to the beat. And there there is no need for rhythm, there you can excuse yourself with rhymes (at battles).

Poems are not always Hip Hop. Poems can be chanson or just poetry. They (bytly) are already moving a little away from the roots of Hip Hop. Why was Rap created? Rap is a flow of information that plays with rhythm, this play of information with rhythm has always been rap music, and a person must be from the culture. When people forget the music like now and create a battle with rhymes, they are actually cutting themselves off from Hip Hop. Can you name any performers worthy of rap battles? Every year the strongest wins on Rap Music. Just ask who won last year, the year before... These guys are all worthy

Vlad Valov in an interview with Music Online Com about the Rap Regatta

You recently organized the All-Union Rap Regatta. Why "All-Union"? I like the name “All-Union”. This is a reference to our international Motherland. In general, I am in favor of returning the borders of the USSR, returning all the republics. And most importantly, the streets of all countries that have already separated will support. Therefore, I gave up on everything and made it not an All-Russian, but an All-Union, that is, why don’t rap artists from other republics of countries join us in the next Rap Regatta? I would be very happy to make such a Rap Regatta for three days, where rap artists would gather from different countries, competed in the Regatta, and then performed.

Vlad, you have a lot of names - okay, I know them, but it’s simply not possible for other people to understand all your names. Vlad Valov CHEF Bad Balance – well, that’s understandable. Next come: Raiders, Master CHEF, Bad B PRO, Bad B, Label 100 PRO, Hip Hop Info and others. Why so many names? After all, the brand is blurred... Football team Raiders. Hip Hop Info was a magazine. Vlad Valov is a producer. CHEF is an artist. All these names have only legal meaning.

About the clips

Clip Autumn. You shot and released a video with Anastasia Makarevich “Autumn” on April 19. Why was the video about autumn released in the spring? Because my album was coming out. In fact, I wanted to shoot the video last fall, but they still couldn’t decide, and we filmed it in the spring. I wrote in the poems about autumn that we are waiting for the May spring. And we released an album in May, so no matter how good the fall is, we are all waiting for spring. The main idea is this.

Vlad Valov in an interview with Music Online Com about the 100 PRO Label

Your Label (100 PRO) creates turnkey tracks and videos. A young artist comes to you - how much will you charge him? Tell me by article:

  1. writing text
  2. beat making
  3. filming the clip itself

Making beats is what they call youngsters who don’t understand anything about music. This is called arranging, creating an arrangement. What is arrangement? This is the person who creates the beats as you say. That's what everyone says today))) we repeat after them. Poorly educated people say that. That's another question))) So, what does it mean to create a beat for such people? This is taking a sample from any song and putting a rhythm on it - either playing it yourself on Akaika, or taking this rhythm and substituting it. This is not a job. This kind of work costs nothing. Arrangement is when you make a complete arrangement, this is when it excites people and makes a hit out of an ordinary song. Our arrangement is like this on the label, from 300 to 5000 dollars per music.

Writing lyrics, I have 5 awesome people who write their lyrics on the topic. The recording itself, the mixing, we have a very good microphone for 10 thousand dollars - any voice can be made great. We work with a person, not just to sign him up and throw him out, but we try to make sure that this person achieves some kind of success.

Therefore, if this song is turnkey, it can cost us $5,000, if it is a rap artist with his own lyrics, it can cost $1,000. How much does it cost to maintain “Label 100 PRO”? Approximately 250,000 - 300,000 rubles. Why did the Roman Empire collapse Bad B Alliance? The fact is that my commercial partner was Tolmatsky Sr., he didn’t know Hip Hop, he was guided only by his business, and he didn’t understand some important details and things. Because of this, I stopped this whole story. After some time, even his son Decl realized that he did not understand many things and also stepped aside.

In general, this idea was good and this idea could be developed as much as necessary. And now our country would be, for example, according to my calculations, somewhere a hundred years ahead, now it is completely stagnant. In terms of Hip Hop you mean? Why stagnation? After all, there are Rap Battles, new young artists have appeared thanks to these battles, who today earn money... This is a very low level. Around the 90s now, what's happening on stage

About the artist Yolka

From 2004 to 2009 you were the producer of the singer Elka. Tell us how it all began? Elka performed on Rap Music in 1998, I noticed her, invited her to come to Moscow, wrote her the song “City of Deception.” And after 2 weeks we blew up all the hit parades. After that, I wrote 4 or 5 more albums for her and received a lot of titles and awards. In general, I have about 50 major awards in my arsenal as a producer. The best songs of Elka, created on your Label 100 PRO? All. Everything else about her is not very good. Can you name the best songs created on your 100 PRO label? Handsome boy, City of deception, Don't lose heart, Student girl and so on. Do you think that a producer who is good at developing artists in one musical genre can develop artists in another genre? Yes, you can, but for the producer, it all depends on the coincidence of circumstances: how talented the producer is, how talented the musicians are, how much they are inspired by this idea. You need to be in the right place at the right time. It's forever.

About miscellaneous

What do you think should be the income ratio between producer and artist? 70 to 30, 50 to 50, other... 50 percent to 50 percent. We always work like this. We almost always buy albums from all artists. The main thing is that there is interest in them. And if some group or artist takes off, we sign a contract for concert activities; before that, we are not interested in concert activities at all. What's your favorite movie? Yesterday I watched the 3rd part of “The Three Musketeers” with Boyarsky, a good film. I rewatched it with great pleasure. I want to say that our cinema now lacks such films. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the film Titanic. What can you say about the musical component of the film? These songs were played everywhere they could... The funny thing is that I did the premiere of Titanic in Russia at Kodak Kinomir. And he invited the director there, and when the director arrived, I asked him, in my opinion, Celine Dion, we took a sample of the song for “Silently the days are melting away,” he advised us to contact Warner English, we made an application, the refusal came to us only a year later. And we ended up replaying the composition.

The presidential election is coming soon, who will you vote for and why? In general, I am out of politics. My album “Politics” says it all. When I listened to your songs many years ago at school, where you say that you don’t go to the polls – that’s one thing. When I got older, I realized that I needed to go to the polls. Do you have any preferences among politicians? I like our foreign policy, but I would change a lot of things in our domestic policy. If I vote, I would rather run for office myself. What would you change in domestic policy? Migration, construction, something else? I have a plan of what I want to change. If I name it, they will create the precondition for a whole revolution. I'd better keep quiet now. And I’ll say once again, “I don’t believe in politics.” Do you go to the polls? I go Who do you vote for? Don’t you want to talk? I won't tell you this. This is my own business. Let it remain behind the scenes. Vlad, thank you very much for the interview Vlad Valov in the interview with Music Online Com

Vladislav Ramm now

In 2020, a new turn took place in Vladislav’s creative biography. Yana Rudkovskaya undertook to produce Ramma. The singer is friends with Yana’s older children, and not only this fact pushed the woman to cooperate. Rudkovskaya liked the performer’s voice, sincerity and desire to satisfy the needs of young listeners, even if there was something she didn’t like. In addition, Vlad wrote 2 songs for Dima Bilan, which were successfully sold on iTunes.

Yana is confident that joint projects with Ramm will receive the same recognition as in the case of Bilan. The producer gave an angry rebuke to spiteful critics who wrote unflattering comments on social networks, allegedly everything will come back like a boomerang.

The first product of the new tandem was the song “Enough Spirit,” and at the “New Wave” competition Vladislav performed the composition “Neither You nor Me.” Both works were recorded together with Yana’s son, Nikolai Baturin. The young man took the creative name Kolyas. Rudkovskaya herself played the role of the good fairy in the “Ya-Na” video.

Model Miranda Shelia, Ramm’s current passion, starred in the “Neither You nor Me” video. The beauty, similar to Irina Shayk, previously dated Russian national football team player Fedor Smolov. Vladislav is mentally ready for family life, but there are serious goals ahead, and work comes first.

“I have a lot of useful things to do, first of all for my family!”

When journalists inquired about Rudkovskaya’s relationship with the Velvet Music production center, which now owns the rights to Vladislav, Yana replied that she was ready for dialogue. Termination of the contract with the previous team is a formality, and new songs are its property.

In 2018, Vladislav’s album entitled “Lu4she” was released. The genre of songs is from “clubby” to soul. One track was recorded in collaboration with Vadim Shirshov, performing under the pseudonym Valium. Ramm admitted that he does not get hung up on the fashionability or unfashionability of a particular style, he loves music in all its diversity, but is aware that the public prefers dance tracks. However, according to the inner feeling of the musician, “a thick beat at a medium tempo” is closer.

On the Internet, fans of Vladislav Ramm have created an original community. Its members call themselves “rammers.” In addition to discussing the singer’s work, before the New Year, participants hold an action - the exchange of small souvenirs, not virtual, but the most tangible: “rummers” send notepads, chocolates, postcards and other pleasant little things by mail. The main thing is not the gift, but the attention. The same exchange took place ahead of 2019.
