Singer Yulia Mikhalchik: “I regret every minute spent away from home”
A graduate of the third “Star Factory”, Yulia Mikhalchik, has seen herself exclusively on stage since childhood: she graduated from music school, and from the age of 11 she participated in various music shows. And in order to become a “manufacturer”, Yulia was even forced to suspend her studies at the university.
In an exclusive interview with Hometown, the singer explained the sacrifices she has to make for her profession and how she manages to successfully combine work with family life.
– One day you left the university and subsequently became a famous singer. And if you had not decided to take this step, what would your life be like now?
“It’s hard to say what my life would have been like if I hadn’t left school for a while.” But by the time the project started, I had already signed a contract with Muz-TV, so I think I would have followed the same path anyway. Only it would have “sounded” probably a little later. And I continued my studies and later graduated from the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, also with a degree in PR.
– How difficult was the transition from “Star Factory” to “adult” show business?
– I can’t say that the transition from “factory” life to tour life turned out to be very difficult. Both periods were very difficult in themselves. Especially “post-factory” - continuous work, constant travel, every day you find yourself in some new city. It took some getting used to.
– Which of your “factory” friends do you maintain good relations with?
- Almost everyone. There were very good guys on the project. This applies not only to their human qualities, but also to their creative ones - they are all very talented.
– What inspires you to new creative achievements?
– An unbridled desire to do what you love, not to fall out of the profession. And, of course, the desire to justify the work of my parents - they invested a lot of effort in me. I also, like any mother, dream that my son, when he grows up, can be proud of me.
– Who did you dream of becoming as a child?
“I think I’m playing exactly the role that was destined for me.” I didn’t see myself in any other capacity, even as a child!
– Little is known about your family. Husband, son... What are your favorite men?
- My men are wonderful! And yes, I really prefer to talk little about my personal life - that’s why it’s personal. (Smiles.).
– You said that Vladimir was the first man who attracted you with his appearance. What is the most important thing about representatives of the stronger sex?
– The main thing is that next to a man you immediately feel that this is your loved one. He must be ready to do anything for his family.
– How do you manage to combine your career with family life?
“I won’t lie and say that this comes easy to me.” I regret every minute spent away from home, away from my family. But I can’t imagine life without my work, so I have to combine everything harmoniously. That's why after work I immediately rush home.
– Do your relatives often attend concerts?
– No, this doesn’t happen often. My parents live in St. Petersburg, so they rarely attend my concerts and performances. Occasionally my husband is nearby.
– What are your hobbies, besides the stage and family?
– To be honest, I simply don’t have enough for more... Work and home – that’s what my whole life is filled with.
– What helps you always be in good shape?
– A simple lack of time to eat properly and on time. (Laughs.). This is the secret of beauty.
– What is your main dream?
It’s hard to name just one, so I’ll mention the two most important ones. The first thing is, naturally, that all my relatives are healthy. And the second is to achieve good results in the profession. I would also really like to, because this is an integral part of my life.
