Childhood
The addition to the Malikov family happened at the very height of the war, at the beginning of July 1943. The father of the baby, who was named Yurik, Fedor, was demobilized after being seriously wounded, so the young mother, Raisa, was not alone in caring for her newborn son. Yura spent his childhood in the Rostov region, on the Chebotovka farmstead - it was there that the future artist grew up until the age of eleven, absorbing his father’s stories about the war and learning from him to play the balalaika, accordion and accordion.
As for the rest, besides the musical pursuits and abilities that the boy discovered in early childhood (however, despite this, Yura did not show much love for music in childhood), he lived freely and freely, like all the village children. And then, as follows from the biography of Yuri Malikov, the family moved to the Moscow region.
Moving. Youth
In the fifty-fourth year of the last century, the Malikov family moved to the town of Chekhov near Moscow, where they settled. Yurik went to school, quickly got used to it and made new friends, with whom already at such a young age (he was 11-12 years old at that time) he “put together” his first group - a trio of accordionists. In this composition, the guys performed at all school and amateur evenings until the very end of secondary general education.
After graduating from school, Yuri didn’t think long about where to go - he went to the industrial technical school in Podolsk. However, he did not give up his music studies. By that time, the young man could play three musical instruments; as they say now, he was already a multi-instrumentalist. Therefore, without hesitation, he was accepted into the technical school’s brass band.
Around the same time, as you can learn from the biography of Yuri Malikov, a fateful acquaintance happened in his life. The very same thing, thanks to which the love of music settled in his heart forever. And this acquaintance was... with the double bass. Previously, Yuri, a simple farm boy, had neither seen nor heard of such an instrument. And then I watched one movie and, as they say, disappeared. I literally fell head over heels in love with the instrument. The brass band did not have a double bass, but Yuri was able to persuade the authorities to buy it - it took almost a whole year to beg, but ultimately the purchase took place.
Passion for music
Around the same time when the musician Yuri Malikov began to dream of a double bass and subsequently began to learn the intricacies of playing it - for this, the young man specially enrolled in the Podolsk evening music school - another hobby appeared in his life - jazz. Yuri had not listened to this kind of music before, but now he wanted to not only listen to it, but also perform it. Music drew him deeper and deeper into its networks. The understanding came more and more clearly that the musical path was what Malikov would like to devote his life to.
Version of the magazine “Vedomosti. Moscow"
According to the magazine “Vedomosti. Moscow”, a certain Svetlana became the singer’s mother. She was described in the magazine as the daughter of another popular composer, namely Eduard Kolmanovsky. Yuri Malikov began an affair with Svetlana, after which he stopped paying attention to her and found his wife Lyudmila.
Svetlana was already pregnant at that time. She carried the child and gave birth to him safely, but gave him up to his father to raise. This version seems interesting, because if Dmitry Malikov is really a relative of Eduard Kolmanovsky, then he has Jewish roots.
But in fact, all this turned out to be a lie. After analyzing Kolmanovsky’s pedigree, we can find out that he does not and never had any daughter. Therefore, this information is false.
Moscow
In 1962, Yuri Malikov graduated from the Podolsk technical school with honors and entered the Automechanical Institute. In the evenings, he went to the city park, where he played the double bass, entertaining the walking public. It was there, in the park, that another turn in the life of Yuri Malikov took place - the biography says that one evening the hero of our story had a fateful meeting with double bass player Vladimir Mikhalev. He was a member of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and could not pass by his talented “colleague”. Mikhalev left Malikov his number and advised him to move to the capital. This was a chance - and Yuri did not miss it.
After dropping out of college, Yuri came to Moscow and called a recent acquaintance. With his help, the genius guy was accepted into the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music School. Yura's talent was soon noticed and Malikov was taken from his fourth year - and not just anywhere, but to the conservatory, to the orchestra department. Yuri Fedorovich Malikov graduated from it in 1969. A sea of possibilities lay ahead. A new life has begun...
Yuri Malikov - biography, personal life
Life story of Yuri Malikov, nationality, wife, children
In 1957 he entered technical school. He actively took part in amateur performances. A year later he entered music school, but dropped out in 1959. In 1962 he entered the music school.
Yuri Mikhalkov’s teacher was Astakhov.
Malikov’s creative career began in 1961; he had a desire to create a youth group on a lyrical basis. In 1970, Yuri created the “Gems” ensemble. From the very beginning, musicians began to cover other people's songs in their own way so that they could interest a young audience.
Despite the difficulties of forming a repertoire, the young team managed to achieve success. Many songs of “Gems” have become not just popular, but folk.
In the nineties, the popularity of the group decreased slightly; it seemed that the guys could no longer surprise the public with anything. In 1995, the group turned 25 years old, and the participants played an anniversary concert . The group is still popular today, even among young people.
In 1966, Yuri invited Lyudmila to become his wife. To impress Lyudmila, the hero lover even collected money for a car. At first, the young couple did not have the money to buy their own home, so they lived with Lyudmila’s parents. A few years later, the first-born appeared, who was named Dima.
Yuri was not satisfied with how much he received here and he left for Japan. During these years, the well-known group “Gems” appeared, but Yuri was missing at home.
Lyudmila did not even think of reproaching her beloved husband for the fact that he was practically never at home. She realized that he was working for the benefit of their family , and she was taking care of the children.
Lyudmila turned out to be a worthy wife who could support him at any time. Her children and grandchildren adore her. She is truly a very wise woman. At the moment, Lyudmila does not sit at home, but works for Dmitry as management. Yuri Malikov still performs as part of world-famous group “Gems”.
At the moment, the Malikovs have two grandchildren, one of whom was born in January of this year, and one great-granddaughter, Anechka.
Granddaughter Olga got married several years ago, despite the fact that the girl is not their own, Lyudmila and Yuri accepted her as their own. Granddaughter Stefania is a student and has already tried herself as a vocalist, fashion model and actress. At the moment, the girl is only 18 years old, but there is no end to her fans.
Lyudmila and Yuri don’t even think how old they are at the moment. They are full of strength and energy for new achievements. Even in the look of this couple it is clear that to this day they love each other very much.
Beginning of a musical career
After graduating from the conservatory, Malikov got a job at Mosconcert and performed in the orchestra. However, even then the young man understood that this was not exactly what he wanted to do. However, the necessary solution did not come to mind; the idea could not take shape for quite some time.
Everything changed in the seventies. Then, as follows from the biography of Yuri Malikov, Japan suddenly appeared on the horizon. The artist lived there for some time, observing the pop life of the Land of the Rising Sun. Among other things, Yuri managed to visit the Expo-70 exhibition, where he saw a lot of modern equipment for musicians. And then, finally, the idea arose in his head: the whole point is that it was during this period that groups began to arise that sang not to the accompaniment of an orchestra, but independently playing musical instruments. It was precisely this idea that came to Yuri Malikov’s mind when looking at this equipment: it was necessary to create a vocal and instrumental ensemble that would stand out in terms of its format and its music. Returning to Moscow in seventy-one, the artist announced an audition for recruitment into a new group.
Vladimir Natanovich Vinokur
Vladimir Natanovich comes from a Jewish family. His father was quite famous in the artist’s hometown - Kursk. Vinokur is 68 years old (born March 31, 1948).
People first started talking about Vladimir in 1962, when he sang a composition at an international competition and received first place for it. By the way, the gold medal was presented to him by Yuri Gagarin himself.
While studying at the assembly college, I tried to enter GITIS. Although he passed all the vocal rounds with a bang, he was not finally accepted due to the fact that he did not have documents about secondary education. He re-entered in 1969, while in the army. The decisive years in his life were 1973-1975. It was during this period that he met Yuri Nikulin and worked in the circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. In his fourth year, he gets a job at the Moscow Operetta Theater.
Vinokur joined the Gems team in 1975, as did Elena Presnyakova. Two years later he received a prize at the All-Russian Artists' Competition. And since then he has been conducting solo activities.
"Gems" by Yuri Malikov
At his casting, Yuri showed himself to be a meticulous and meticulous person: before approving the composition of the ensemble, he looked at quite a large number of people. Malikov was looking for new faces, new names - and for this he himself went to schools and theaters, to restaurants and cafes. And when the initial composition of the group was finally formed, he hurried to present the first compositions to the audience. The premiere of the tracks of the new ensemble took place on the radio, in one of the very popular programs at that time - “Good morning!”
The songs that Yuri Malikov decided to “shoot” were such hits as “I’ll take you to the tundra” and “Will I go out?” It must be said that the musician was right: these compositions really took off, making Yuri Malikov’s still nameless group instantly popular. Yes, at first the group did not have a name - just the abbreviation VIA. Radio listeners were invited to send their ideas for the name of the ensemble. Malikov liked the “Gems” version more than others.

Popularity
With “Gems,” as follows from the biography of Yuri Malikov, a new stage began in the man’s life - the stage of all-Union popularity and love. The team woke up famous after the very first released compositions, and then the artists only consolidated their success with new hits. The songs of Yuri Malikov and “Gems” were rhythmic, lyrical, melodic, easy to remember and easy to sing - and therefore it is not surprising that soon the whole country was purring them. It was very important not to lower the bar - and “Gems” coped with this task perfectly until the very beginning of the nineties of the last century.
Decline and rebirth
The beginning of the nineties brought not only political changes to our country, but also musical ones: new groups appeared that began to overshadow the old ones. The former listeners of "Gems" had grown up, the new ones preferred younger and more modern ensembles - for example, "Tender May", which was just then at the peak of its fame. It was becoming more and more difficult for the “Gems” to play, perform, and whatever - earn money, and therefore in ninety-two Malikov made a Solomon decision: he announced the dissolution of his ensemble.
Four years passed without “Gems,” and nothing foreshadowed a return to the roots, when unexpectedly Malikov and his comrades were invited to film the “Golden Hit” program. Having performed there, the artists unexpectedly discovered that their popularity, it turns out, had not completely faded away, but was only smoldering, preparing to burn out. A new wave of interest broke out in the group - and the Gems gathered again.
