In the Mgoyan family, no one, except Zara herself, is associated with music or any other form of art. But her musical abilities showed up early. The girl took her first steps in creativity at school age. An artistic 12-year-old girl with a good voice was noticed by the famous musician Oleg Kvasha. He invited Zarifa to sing some of his songs and realized that in front of him was a future singer who would soon find her niche in the world of music and show business.
The compositions “Exactly Today” and “Juliet’s Heart,” proposed by Kvasha and sung by Zara, soon found themselves in rotation on some radio stations in Russia and were remembered by many listeners. As it turned out, Zara’s creative biography began with them. Soon, with the support of the same musician and producer Oleg Kvasha, the young performer participates in the Morning Star competition. She sang the same 2 songs and made it to the finals.
Sergei Ivanov: long courtship of an oriental princess
After separating from her husband, Zara did not seek to start a relationship with another man and completely devoted herself to promoting herself on the stage. Once at one of the events she was introduced to Sergei Ivanov. The man liked the girl so much that he tried with all his might to attract her attention, but in vain. Zara left the party without even leaving her phone number.
A new stage began in her creative journey - participation in the “Star Factory”. It was on the TV screen that Sergei Ivanov saw the one that had sunk so deeply into his heart. At that time, the young man held the position of chairman of the board of directors and worked in the Moscow Government. His family life was also stable; he was married and raised two sons. But Zara turned his head so much that Sergei directed all his efforts to attract her attention.
Not only the singer, but also all the “manufacturers” enjoyed the fruits of courtship. A new fan of the aspiring “star” filled the star’s house with flowers and fruits. Each time he offered the girl his hand and heart, but did not receive consent. It took the man a whole year to take the impregnable “fortress” and receive the cherished “yes” in response to his proposal to get married. The wedding was luxurious, the guests partied until the morning in a restaurant on Rublyovka, and among the guests there were many celebrities and businessmen.
In this marriage, the singer had two children - Daniil and Maxim. But after living together for eight years, the couple announced their divorce, which stunned the public. Sergey and Zara do not comment on the reasons for the separation. They managed to maintain normal friendly relations, take care of children together and often meet at various events.
Music
After participating and winning “Morning Star”, Zara regularly takes part in music competitions and festivals, including international ones. Thus, at the competition for young singers and musicians “Let the Children Laugh” Zarifa Mgoyan received the main prize. The competition took place in Egypt, and others followed. At the age of 16, Zara’s first studio album, “Juliet’s Heart,” was released. Almost immediately after it a record appeared called “Zara”.
Zara "Juliet's Heart"
After graduating from school (the girl graduated with a silver medal), she becomes a student at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts. Here another talent of Zara manifested itself: she made her debut on stage as an actress. In the early 2000s, the aspiring actress played her first roles in the productions of “Voices of a Bygone Century,” “The Idiot” and “Sky Swallows.”
At the same time, Zara made her debut on the silver screen, appearing in a cameo role in the film “By the Name of Baron...”. The debut turned out to be successful, and Zara was invited to star in the film “Special Forces in Russian - 2”. Later, a girl with an oriental appearance (Zara’s height is 169 cm and her weight is 49 kg) appeared in the films “Favorsky”, “Pushkin. The Last Duel" and "White Sand".
Zara - “I'm flying”
However, it was not theater and cinema, but music and singing that made Zara famous. In 2006, Zarifa Mgoyan became a participant in the “Star Factory – 6” project. Her appearance on the central channel of Russia and her 3rd place attracted enormous attention to the performer. They also allowed her to sign a lucrative contract offered by the famous producer Viktor Drobysh.
In 2007, the singer’s album “Don’t Leave Me Alone” appeared. Soon Zara went on her first tour around the country. Success was accompanied by the appearance of a new hit, “Heaven for Two,” recorded specifically for the film “Apocalypse Code.” Since then, Zara has been a regular guest on various television projects that are broadcast on Russian television channels.
Zara - “Peace to your home”
Her joint performance with Dmitry Pevtsov on the “Two Stars” show became stellar. Quite often, Zara performs in the popular project “Property of the Republic,” where she sings hits from the Soviet period.
In 2020, the artist’s repertoire was replenished with the next studio album “#Millimeters”; director Alan Badoev created a video for Zara for the song “Peace to Your Home”. The premiere of the album's compositions took place at the artist's solo concert at the State Kremlin Palace.
Zara - “Didn’t Love”
For her performance of the songs “For Her”, “Unloved”, “Amelie”, “Leningrad” the singer became a laureate of the Golden Gramophone and Song of the Year awards. The artist’s duet compositions were also awarded – the track “Love for an Encore”, performed together with Alexander Rosenbaum, and the hit “Sleeping Beauty”, in the recording of which Stas Mikhailov participated. Later, Zara repeated her collaboration with Mikhailov, releasing the song “Let's Divide the Sky.”

In 2020, the ensemble with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli received the MUZ-TV award in the “Best International Duet” category. Zara continued her collaboration with the Italian and became a participant in the Il canto della terra concerts on the stage of the Theater of Silence in Tuscany and Celebrity Fight Night in the Roman Colosseum. Zara was also lucky enough to work on the same stage with the legend of the French stage Mireille Mathieu. The singers performed the hit “Under the Sky of Paris.”
The performer devotes a lot of energy to social activities, she collaborates with UNESCO, performs charity concerts, and oversees the ethnic international festival “Music of Our Hearts.” In 2020, the Russian woman was awarded the honorary title “UNESCO Artist for Peace.”
Biography of Zara (singer)
Mgoyan Zafira Pashayevna was born - and this is the actual name of the singer Zara - on a sunny summer day on July 26th in the town of Leninakan, in Armenia.
Zafira studied at school No. 2, in Otradnoye. From which the conquest of creative heights began. Zara's biography is to some extent similar to a fairy tale. We can say that Zafira began her musical career as a child. At the age of 12, fate brought the future singer together with Oleg Kvaksha, a famous composer and musical figure. With him, a year later, Zara recorded her first songs, including “Juliet’s Heart” and “Lullaby.” These compositions were heard on the radio and it was they that brought her, then still a teenager, her first fame.
“Juliet's Heart” - just a year later brought her victory on the children's musical television show “Morning Star”. And after him came the first prize of the foreign song competition “Let the Children Laugh”, held in distant Egypt. A year later, she was awarded first prizes in such music competitions as “Hope of Siberia” (held in Omsk) and “Hit of the Year” (held in St. Petersburg). But the girl didn’t stop there. For years, continuing to participate in a variety of competitions and nominations, she confidently took first positions.
Biography of Zara (singer) photo
At the age of 21, the young, but already, one might say, well-known singer in some circles, graduated from the Theater Academy in St. Petersburg. Throughout her studies, Zara appeared on the theater stage in productions of such works as “The Idiot” or “Sky Swallows.”
And just a couple of years later, another turn came in her personal and creative life - Zafira became a participant in the sixth season of the popular music competition “Star Factory”, with producer Viktor Drobysh. It was there that she won the hearts of the jury members, including the viewers of the TV show, with her voice. And although she only took third place there, this did not prevent her from finding fans and becoming a fairly popular performer. Among other things, her established cooperation with Drobysh also helped her.
After the end of “Factory,” the performer did not disappear from television screens. She began acting in various TV series, short films, and also took part in shows. Journalists started talking about Zara, the media began to take an interest in her, and her full-fledged career as a star began.
Currently, Zafira Mgoyan is an Honored Artist of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, as well as an active charitable figure. She takes part in a fund to help blind children, and, in addition, is on the board of trustees of a fund for people with disabilities.
Personal life
Having become famous, the singer and actress faced increased media attention to her person. I must say, the young performer did not really like this. Zara’s personal life was examined too closely, gossip and fiction appeared. Subsequently, as the singer herself believes, this was the reason for the collapse of her first marriage.

Zara and Sergey Matvienko
Zara and Sergei Matvienko, the son of ex-governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, lived together for a year and a half. For the sake of this marriage, the performer converted to Orthodoxy. It would seem that nothing foreshadowed a sad ending, but without having time to properly savor the details of the newlyweds’ lives, the tabloid publications soon received a new reason to talk about the topic “Zara and Sergei Matvienko.”
What caused the divorce is not fully known. The singer herself blames the newspapermen for everything, but they say that the reason for the divorce of Zara and banker Sergei Matvienko is that the husband demanded that the young wife give up her singing career and show business, devoting herself entirely to the family.

Zara with her sons
Zara got married for the second time in 2008. Her husband becomes a prominent official of the Department of Health. To marry Zara, Sergei Ivanov divorced his wife, with whom he raised two children. In 2010, the first son of Zara and Sergei Ivanov, Daniil, was born. 2 years later Maxim appeared.
Zara is a very family person. Taught by bitter experience, she did her best to protect her own family and marriage from unnecessary hype in the tabloid publications.

At the beginning of July 2016, Zara divorced her husband Sergei Ivanov. According to the singer herself, disagreements with her husband led to the divorce, and divorce became the only way out of the current crisis in the relationship.
At the beginning of 2020, rumors began to spread on the Internet about a romance between the singer and political figure Leonid Slutsky. Shortly before this, the politician became involved in a high-profile scandal: several journalists accused him of harassment. Leonid Eduardovich himself denied his guilt. There were no comments about the love affair with the singer Zara.
Personal life of Zara
Zara is not only a famous performer whose biography is filled with incredible achievements, but also a woman who already has a husband and children.
It is no secret that the celebrity was in an official relationship twice. Thus, Zara’s personal life is filled not only with bright, but also with negative moments. On the Internet, from time to time you can find photographs in which the artist is captured in the company of her lovers. You can also find photographs in which the artist appeared with her children.
Singer Zara has been married twice. In 2004, she married a bank employee, Valentina Matvienko’s son, Sergei, converted to the Orthodox faith, but after a year and a half they divorced. The likely reason for this was the increased attention to the couple from the media.
Soon it became known about her affair with an official from the Moscow Department of Health, Sergei Ivanov. The marriage produced Daniil (05/07/2010) and Maxim (04/09/2012). However, in 2020, the marriage broke up. Zara commented on the reason for the divorce with the words “we no longer hear each other.”

Now the performer is working on creating new musical material. In 2020, the singles “I’m Flying” and “Your Plots” were released, for which video clips were created.
