The star of the series “Kitchen” Valeria Fedorovich secretly gave birth to a son

Childhood of Valeria Fedorovich

The future star was born on a summer day in August 1992 in the small town of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region. Her parents had nothing to do with cinema or theater: her mother was an engineer in the construction field, and her father was a military man.

Valeria Fedorovich was born in the town of Kstovo

When Lera was 8 years old, the family moved to Moscow. Childhood years left their mark on Valeria's character. She, like most girls, became interested in dancing and singing, which later helped her a lot, but she did not study very well at school, and was often shy when communicating with her peers.

She has a lot of perseverance and endurance, although, as the actress herself admitted, she was very afraid to jump with a parachute, and when it finally happened, she felt an unprecedented surge of strength and energy. There was another incident that spoke a lot about the character of Valeria Fedorovich: she really wanted to go to the concert of her favorite musician, but there were no tickets for sale. It occurred to the resourceful girl to climb over the fence, after which she had to flee from law enforcement officers.

Valeria Fedorovich - a girl with character

In 2013, Valeria Fedorovich graduated from the Shchepkin Higher Theater School, where she studied acting under the guidance of Rimma Solntseva. At the institute, Fedorovich was perceived as a “good girl” - she wore men’s shirts and baggy pants, and did not use makeup.

Fines for eating props

— Do you manage to eat what is prepared on the set, or do you have to dine outside?

— We have lunch in an ordinary dining room. We have fines for eating props (laughs - editor's note). But it still happens that during long filming we steal an apple and eat it secretly. I hope I won't be fired after such a confession.

— After filming, did your attitude towards restaurants change? Now you probably don’t visit fast food restaurants and don’t eat fast food? After all, in the “Kitchen” all the food is French, gourmet.

“I’m on my way to changing my attitude.” I can’t say that I became infected like the other participants, but a fad is already appearing. Although I see no reason why not to eat a delicious sandwich sometimes.

— Are you becoming a lover of French cuisine?

- No, I love Russian cuisine, my grandmother’s, my mother’s. I love Tula gingerbreads very much – I love them with all my heart!

— Do you know how to cook sushi?

“I tried to cook it once, but what I got was hard to call sushi - it was very thick, the rice fell out.”

I didn’t even know about the existence of molecular gastronomy before filming. When they offered this role, I already started surfing the Internet and watching videos. I only tried dishes from it on site, what our chefs prepared. In general, all chefs are creative people, and molecular scientists are completely special. It seems to me that if they had their will, they would not let us eat all this - just watch!

— Many of the actors are young people and probably didn’t know how to cook very well. Did you somehow prepare for filming to make the kitchen look really high?

— Some actors even attended courses! Filming takes place in the pavilion. In the built-out kitchen, everything works except the hoods. Sergei Lavygin, who plays Senya, can already expertly cut something and chatter at the same time. I had training on site, I talked with the molecular chef, he shared some secrets.

Sometimes Dmitry Nazarov makes comments on the site. And everyone listens to him and eliminates the jambs. In general, on my first day of shooting, I approached Dmitry Yuryevich - and saw a block, there’s no other way to call it! I forgot that I was supposed to speak according to the role, my eye began to twitch. Although, of course, Dmitry Yuryevich is only hiding behind severity, in fact, you can see from his eyes that he is kind. On the set, he sometimes teased me mercilessly. And it’s really hard to film with Nagiyev on the same set, he’s incomparable - he constantly jokes so much that you’re afraid of disrupting the filming process, you’re just waiting for the cry “Cut!” to burst out laughing.

- You had to pretend to be a rebel!

- Well, yes, and I had no right to be lower in energy, in message, than Nazarov’s hero. I prepared myself mentally. They put make-up on me, and I told myself that I was strong, the best and that I loved walking in heels, although in fact it was the opposite.

Here are leather jackets, jeans, T-shirts - these are mine!

I’m softer than Katya: if she can immediately say everything straight away, then I don’t feel comfortable offending a person. Although you have to learn this in life.

— Who cooks in your family?

— Sometimes I do, when I’m in the mood. When I'm not in the mood, we go hungry. We have an empty refrigerator. Maybe this habit appeared because my mother always buys a lot of food, everything starts to spoil, and I told myself: this won’t happen in my family!

— It’s probably a small refrigerator, isn’t it?

— It's big, but empty.

— What foods are always in it?

- Eggs! It’s just that my mother raises chickens. In my opinion, this is the only environmentally friendly product. What's for breakfast? Eggs! For lunch? Eggs too! (laughs - editor's note). And there are also vegetables. All!

The beginning of Valeria Fedorovich's career. "Kitchen"

The closer the end of their studies, the more acute the issue of employment for graduates, and theater universities are no exception. By the end of her studies at Sliver, Valeria was building bright prospects about a grandiose career and world fame, but the reality was different - not a single theater invited young talent. At some point, the girl came to terms with such a sad state of affairs, but, as often happens, chance decided everything.

Valeria Fedorovich was “stripped” in the kitchen

Valeria was involved in the student play “Zoyka’s Apartment”. The casting director of the TV series “Kitchen” was present at the screening, noting the young actress’s performance and inviting her to audition. Valeria went to the auditions without inspiration, but she successfully passed them and was approved for the role of one of the main characters - the daughter of chef Barinov (Dmitry Nazarov), who first appeared in the third season of the popular sitcom.

Her Katya, a specialist in molecular gastronomy, fell in love with many viewers thanks to her bright appearance and daring character. According to the actress, the heroine of “Kitchen” is her complete opposite, because in life she is a soft and rather fearful person, and sometimes she needs to be pushed to take some action.

Valeria Fedorovich answers your questions!

Fans of “Kitchen” asked more than a thousand questions to Valeria Fedorovich, who played Katya in the series, the goddess of molecular gastronomy and the daughter of the Chef, who amazed viewers from the first minute of her appearance on the screen.

We met with Valeria to ask her the most popular and interesting questions from her fans. By the way, the very presence of such an army of fans still surprises the actress - she is not yet accustomed to her popularity, and she is still very rarely recognized on the streets.

About the new image

— In the STS series you have two very different roles. Which heroine is closer to you: Natasha from “Survive After” or Katya from “Kitchen”?

— It’s been so long since I starred in “Survive After,” I was only 19 years old. And, probably, at that moment Natasha was closer to me. But time has passed, a lot has changed in my life, I myself have changed, and now Katya is closer to me with her principles, her position in life. Her zeal for life, her core, how daring she is - I like this more. Although I can’t say that she and I are very similar.

— Everyone is surprised by your external transformation in the TV series “Kitchen.” Do you remember the moment when the makeup artists first showed you your new look?

- Yes I remember. I was very surprised and took a very long time to get used to. At first, red lipstick seemed to bother me, it seemed unnecessary, because in my life I wear very little makeup. But it was she who bothered me, and she suits Katya perfectly! And this is the main thing!

— And then in real life you tried to try on this image?

- No, I have so much of this on set that on ordinary days I don’t feel like it at all. And it takes so long to wash off such makeup afterwards (laughs).

— How much lipstick did you use during the season?

- Only one!

— People who have known you for a long time, how did they react to such an image? Mom and dad?

“A lot of people said that it suits me and that it’s very unexpected.” And the parents liked it too. I was afraid that there would be criticism. It was important for me that they saw Katya, and not me.

— Mothers often ask girls not to wear too much makeup.

- No, mine is the opposite! He says to put on makeup and wear heels.

About personal

— Can you tell us about your childhood? How did you study at school?

- Badly. This is true. I was only interested in literature and the Russian language. And history! But that's all. All these math subjects are not for me. Well, what kind of mathematics? I never understood geometry. Physics and chemistry are generally something beyond the bounds. Maybe it was my mentality, maybe I was just not interested. I always liked reading and being in the clouds more.

— Have you wanted to be an actress since school?

“I had two options: either I’ll be a teacher or an actress.” And then I thought that with the way I studied at school, it’s probably not worth becoming a teacher - I’m unlikely to be able to teach anything. Except literature. But if I hadn’t entered the theater school, I probably would have still become a teacher - I love children.

— What do you advise to those who want to enter the theater? How did you do?

“I’ve just been preparing since 11th grade. I chose what to read for exams. It seems to me that there is no secret. If necessary, you will find yourself in this place, you have to believe in yourself.

— Do people already recognize you on the streets?

“I was recognized only once or twice—by girls who asked for directions on the street. But I have no worries about this. And it’s a very strange feeling when they come up to you and ask: “Did you star in the series?”

— What about social networks?

— I try to spend less time there. I have pages on VKontakte and Facebook. I am not on Instagram, Twitter and other social networks.

Moreover, on Instagram, someone started a page on my behalf and even managed to write that I was supposedly pregnant, in my third month. And then a girl on the set came up to me with the question: “She’s already given birth, right?”

— Do you yourself monitor what they write about you on social networks?

- Very rarely. And I try to stop myself if I get carried away. Because I react quite vulnerable to everything. And it’s one thing when my teacher makes comments to me that I can listen to; it’s another thing to read on the Internet “she’s beautiful” or “ugh, she’s stupid.” For what?

— There is a question from fans: “Go to Dota!” Do you play computer games?

- No, maybe a long time ago, at school.

— What do you do in your free time?

— I don’t like free time. I like working. In my free time I feel lost. I probably need to make a plan for how to spend the weekend, otherwise it’s just torture. And so, everything is quite banal - I really like going to the cinema. And dance! But not in clubs - I'm afraid a leopard won't suit me (laughs), but rather in dance bars - with friends, until the morning.

— What did you like from the movie?

— I’m hooked on the series “Game of Thrones”! I didn’t expect this from myself: I watched three seasons in a couple of days. My husband couldn’t tear me away from the computer, and I told him: “How can I not watch the tenth episode?” From films I recently watched Kubrick, then I walked for a long time in the atmosphere of his films.

— Where else can I see you, besides television?

— For now, “Kitchen” takes up all the time. There is also our graduation performance, “Zoyka’s Apartment,” which my classmates and I decided to “bring to the public.” Now the theater season has already ended, but by the fall, I hope, the play will return, we are working on it. We usually play at the Vysotsky House.

— You have no fear that you will be remembered only as Katya, because the role is very bright. And will it be difficult to switch to other jobs?

- Eat. I think about this a lot. Even when I come to auditions, I sometimes understand that people expected to see someone else, but I come. But I believe that if you want, everything can be changed. The main thing is not to give up and constantly raise the bar you strive for. And, in fact, I’m just starting my acting journey.

— What would you like to play?

— I would like something dramatic, even tragic.

About the new season of “Kitchen”

— We already know that you are filming the fourth season of “Kitchen,” but we are still worried why you weren’t in the movie “Kitchen in Paris.”

- It’s logical - I quit Claude Monet. I think Katya just went somewhere to rest.

— How do you return for the fourth season?

- Secret!

- At least give me a hint: did they come up with a big story for Katya?

- Well, she is very interesting.

— Will she have some kind of romance?

- Certainly! What is a woman without love?

About filming the series

- Everyone is also interested in what you yourself think: is it right that Maxim stayed with Vika, and Katya remained out of work?

— It seems to me that Vika and Maxim are perfect for each other. Victoria Sergeevna is correct, strict, but he is such a goofball. And they complement each other.

- And you don’t feel sorry for Katya?

- It was necessary. And I think she understood this.

— Do you even watch the series? Are you trying to look at it like an ordinary viewer, are you worried about the development of the plot?

— It’s very difficult to step back - you immediately remember how this moment was filmed, like another, you can’t look from the outside. But I completely trust our writers. These are smart people with a great sense of humor. And in general, I think it’s a great success that we have a caste of screenwriters who know how to create such a high-quality product and at the same time put an idea, some kind of thought into it.

— You have a lot of scenes with a motorcycle in the series. Have you acted in them yourself?

- No, the stuntman did it for the sake of safety. I was eager: “Let me do it myself, teach me.” But suddenly something gets mixed up on your nerves. And it happens to me! Driving a car, for example. Recently I was leaving the parking lot, I just had to drive three meters and suddenly I saw a car coming towards me. I start to panic, and my husband is walking next to me, I shout to him: “Maxim, car!” He: “You idiot, hit the brakes!” But I no longer remember where the brake is, where the gas is. So it’s better not to take risks with a motorcycle (laughs).

— And after filming, did you have any desire to learn?

- Of course, I really want to. But I haven't tried it yet.

— In one of the most spectacular scenes of “Kitchen” you appear with a bare back, and a tattoo is visible on your shoulder blade. She is real?

- No, this is only for filming.

— Would you agree to a candid photo shoot in a magazine?

- No, I don’t see the point in this.

— You came to “Kitchen” in the third season, when there was already an established team there. How did your relationship develop on set?

- I was really very worried. But it’s normal when you come to work with very good artists, but you’ve just started and don’t understand anything yet. I was later told that I was considered unsociable. And then everything went on and on.

I am very grateful to the entire team for how understanding and supportive I was. Dmitry Dyachenko (director of the first seasons, creative producer), only later, when the episodes came out, said: “Well, I understand, this is your third day of filming.” And I’m there in such a clamp that my left hand doesn’t move and in general, all I can think about is “my God, Dmitry Yuryevich Nazarov, at least I don’t forget the text in front of him!”

— Oh, how was it working with Nazarov? He is the most honored actor in your team, and you had so many one-on-one scenes.

- Exactly! It's actually great to be able to work with such actors. Because you look at it and understand where you need to strive, and that this level is still very, very far away.

— And, of course, everyone is interested in what kind of relationship you have with Mark Bogatyrev.

— I felt very comfortable working with him. Especially because he himself finished studying quite recently and understands what difficulties I have in my work and can support me.

About men

— Another question from fans: what qualities do you like in men?

- Humor! And I like it when men behave like men. Now these lines are blurring a little, and even some completely banal things surprise us. We are so used to it that when a door suddenly opens in front of you, you are a little shocked: “Why, have I been opening doors for myself all my life?” But I still want to see real men around me.

- What do you like about your husband?

— What I like about my husband is his understanding of me. And patience. There is simply no limit to his patience.

— Does he go dancing with you at four in the morning?

- Yes! And even if he’s not interested, he’ll go with me, be next to me, take me home, and even in the morning he won’t reproach me.

About molecular gastronomy

— We have a lot of questions about molecular gastronomy. After Claude Monet, can you cook something equally complex yourself?

- In principle, yes - I did it myself in the series. Of course, in addition to the ingredients, they were prepared by professionals. My husband and I are constantly urging me to cook something like this, but I am for simplicity in food.

— Do you cook at home?

- Yes, but not often, depending on my mood. My husband cooks better, in fact.

- Well, what if we eat? How do you feel about molecular dishes?

- I think it's amazing. Food can be art and that's very cool. Of course, if you just want to fill your stomach, you go to a simple place, but if you are surprised, you need to go to a molecular cuisine restaurant. It just turns your mind around.
