He left quietly at 54. The fate of Valery Nosik and why viewers did not immediately learn about his death

Biography

Alexander Nosik is a worthy successor to his famous parents - Maly Theater actors Valery Nosik and Maria Sternikova. His path to the profession was not easy. But despite the trials, he was able to become a real artist.

About his father, Alexander proudly says: “My father was a simple worker at ZIL and, by entering the theater school, he radically changed the history of his family.”

Like all acting children, Sasha grew up behind the scenes and went on stage from an early age: “I went on tour with the Maly Theater, but I was on the set a couple of times and only with my mother. As a child, I myself was invited to act in films many times, but my parents were against it. They said: “Let’s not spoil the child.” The only film in which I starred with my mom and dad was Sergei Gurzo’s short film “You and I will go to the forest to pick mushrooms...”. I played my father’s neighbor, and my “mother” was Ekaterina Vasilyeva.”

The biggest childhood shock for the boy was the divorce of his mother and father. Alexander recalls: “And then my parents divorced, and I suffered their separation very painfully. Naturally, there was a childish resentment against his father. At first we saw each other very rarely, but when I grew up and could already move around the city on my own, it became easier. I was just going to visit my father, that’s all. And about a couple of years before his death, we became so close that I probably got everything that I missed in childhood because of his tour and divorce.”

Valery Nosik secretly dreamed of his son becoming an actor. However, the young man was more interested in economics, and he decided to enter the Institute. Plekhanov. Having failed miserably, Alexander applied for a correspondence course at a financial college. But they didn’t manage to graduate either - they were drafted into the army.

The actor says about this period of his life: “I played sports, watched enough Soviet films about paratroopers, and in general was a patriotically raised young man. He came to the army to toughen up, become courageous, and quit smoking. I served in a battery platoon, but I still don’t know what batteries are. I was allowed to hold a weapon only once during the oath, but during my service I mastered the shovel thoroughly.

The army checks people very much. If you are a weakling, then you go down, if you can hold on, then you go up. Naturally, I have a strong-willed beginning. In the army I realized that I was stubborn, that I could get my way, that I could survive. And that you need to rely only on yourself, despite the fact that friends are a great strength.”

Returning from service, the matured Nosik again thought about his future profession and stormed Plekhanovka for the second time.

The actor shares: “My parents said: “Son, what are you interested in? Economy? So, go to economics. And then, if you want, go to theater school.” I really really wanted to study at Plekhanovsky. The target was the economics department, not the theater department. But, apparently, you can’t escape fate. In Plekhanovsky I was only one point short, but I entered Shchukinskoye.

Mom was not enthusiastic about this idea. She told me that acting is a difficult profession, it is unknown whether I will have a job, etc. But when I entered Shchuka, she said: “Well, that’s it, son. This is your profession, you chose it yourself. Work!"

The young man decided to build a creative career on his own, without parental protection: “When it became clear that I would enter the theater school, Shchepkinskoye was immediately swept aside, because it was a “parental nest.” They would have been accepted there, but someone later said: “Of course, where could he go? It’s clear - dad, mom, uncle. That’s why he’s in Maly, that’s why they gave him the role...” Maybe it’s pride, but I wanted to go my own way.”

The artist remembers his student years with particular trepidation: “The Shchukin school is different in that, starting from the 2nd year, from excerpts, you constantly change teachers, you have the opportunity to work with different people who have different approaches. Lyudmila Vladimirovna Stavskaya, an actress of the old Vakhtangov school, worked with us on the course. We called her Baba Lucy, or Iron Lucy. An excellent teacher, a wonderful person and a charming woman.

Mikhail Petrovich Semakov and Yuri Veniaminovich Shlykov were excellent teachers. It was a pleasure for me to work with Vladimir Vladimirovich Ivanov. Educational performances were staged by Evgeny Vladimirovich Knyazev, now the rector of the school. Each of them brought something personal to the process of comprehending the profession. I remember them with great warmth.”

Alexander Nosik in childhood

Our hero's dad was a famous comedy artist. Valery Nosik fell in love with young Maria Sternikova at first sight and in a short time decided to legitimize the relationship. After some time, an addition appeared in the family - Alexander. This happened in November 1971 in Moscow.

The boy was involved in the cinematic environment since childhood and began to be invited to film films as an actor. The parents’ attitude towards their son’s occupation was clear: they did not approve of such an early start to a career and did not want such fame for the child. Maria was especially opposed to filming. The result of this conviction of the parents was only one child’s role in Alexander’s film.

Alexander Nosik in his youth with his parents

It was the movie “You and I will go to the forest to pick mushrooms.” Here he played a role alongside his father. At the same time, no one said anything against the boy’s presence on the theater stage. At the Maly Theater, Nosik Jr. earned his popularity and achieved his first successes. He often went on tour with his mother.

At nine years old, the boy stayed with his mother after his parents divorced. Soon Maria remarried. Alexander’s stepfather also became a man from the acting community - Alexey Kudinovich.

The boy grew up completely different from his father, who was remembered by viewers for his role as Otto Fukin in the film “Big Change.” Because Alexander was born into a family of famous actors, he was disliked at school and was often bullied.

Actor Alexander Nosik in his youth

In the boy’s house there was always that special atmosphere that prevails only in the families of creative individuals. All conversations revolved around cinema and theater. Sasha absorbed the culture of this environment from childhood.

Theater

In 1996, while a student, the aspiring actor was accepted into the troupe of the Cherry Orchard Theater. Alexander clarifies: “In my fourth year, Alexander Mikhailovich Vilkin took me to his theater. He was also a teacher at our school, he is the father of Tatyana Vilkina, who studied a year older than me, and during this period he was given, as artistic director, the Cherry Orchard Theater - this is the former Detective Theater of Vasily Livanov.

Later, the actor worked at the Millennium Theater, the DUET Creative Association, the Moscow Comedy Theater and played a lot in the enterprise.

Among his most striking and characteristic roles: Hakob in the comedy “Khanuma”, directed by Nina Chusova; Mitch and Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire by Alexander Marin. Also, two completely different characters were presented by the actor in the play “Adventurous Family” - Captain Welt and Vasya.

The artist says about the play: “This is a detective comedy, and about international friendship, I would say. Although the whole play is about how a Russian-Estonian family, in the form of a husband and wife, is trying to kill a Russian-German grandmother who came to their boarding house. And while she is trying to do this, love comes between everyone. There I initially played an Estonian policeman. Then it turned out that it was necessary to play a second role. Vasya is such a Russian peasant - he’s partly a drunkard.”

Cinema

"Flowers from the winners"

The actor’s debut film work was the role of Roman (Lutik) in Alexander Surin’s melodrama “Flowers from the Winners,” filmed in 1999 based on the novel by E.M. Remark "Three Comrades".

The action takes place in Germany at the beginning of the century, and Russian director Alexander Surin “transferred” the same characters to Russia today. Such an experiment once again proves that times change, but people with all their advantages and disadvantages remain the same.

In the story, three guys - Pasha, Sergei and Roman - went through all the horrors of the war and helped each other survive. Returning from the front, the friends decided never to part. They open a small car repair shop. In their free time from work, Pasha, Sergey and Buttercup (as Roman is affectionately called by their friends) participate in auto racing competitions in old cars. The horrors of war are gradually forgotten, peaceful life begins to improve. But hopes for happiness are not destined to come true.

The film featured: Aurelia Anuzhite, Alexey Kravchenko, Pavel Safonov, Vladimir Zaitsev, Olga Budina, Nikolai Mayorov.

After a successful premiere, the artist was offered a job in Mikhail Tumanishvili’s long-running project “Turkish March” - a film adaptation of Friedrich Neznansky’s action-packed detective bestsellers. Here Alexander reincarnated as Oleg Romanov, an employee of the Presidential Administration, the son of the head of the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate.

The actor played leading roles in two more popular TV series of the early 2000s: “Maroseyka, 12” and “Kamenskaya-1”.

"Return of Mukhtar"

Nosik’s star work was Alexander Polynnikov’s film “The Return of Mukhtar.” The actor played operative Artem Kolosov, who was so beloved by the audience. His ensemble consisted of Viktor Nizovoy and Alla Kovnir.

The main characters of the series are four professionals - operatives Artem and Tolik, investigator Lena, and their tailed assistant - a shepherd named Mukhtar. They are very different, but when they come together, they act as a single organism - clearly, harmoniously, complementing each other.

Mukhtar was Alexander Nosik's main partner in the film. The actor admits that he has a special relationship with dogs: “They have been in our house since childhood. This is the most beloved animal. And filming with the dog was easy and interesting.”

The artist says about the film: “In “Mukhtar,” serious crimes are taken out of the equation, everything is done with humor, in a word, the series is quite watchable and light.”

Later, fans of the actor’s work were able to see him in Igor Chernitsky’s drama “Farewell Echo” and Yevgeny Serov’s action film “Fighter.”

"In the first circle"

The series “In the First Circle” is the first large-scale film adaptation of the work of the same name by Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn, the script for which was written by the author himself. The film was directed by famous director Gleb Panfilov. The work received the Grand Prix of the FIPA International Festival (FIPA D'OR Grand Prize) in the category “Best Series”.

It is noteworthy that the voice-over text of the television film contains fragments of the novel “In the First Circle” as read by Alexander Isaevich himself.

The creator of the drama, Gleb Panfilov, said in an interview: “The novel shocked me completely with its content, with the people described there. And I decided for myself that only in 300 years other generations will make a film based on this novel here in Russia.”

On the set, Alexander Nosik worked with Evgeny Mironov, Inna Churikova, Galina Tyunina, Sergey Karyakin, Alexey Kolubkov, Evgeny Stychkin and other wonderful actors. His hero was the assistant Vitaly Evgenievich.

About his impressions of meeting the director, Alexander says: “It was very pleasant to work with such a master: he penetrates into every actor, into the character, into the situation, there are no passing roles, passing phrases - everything is important. It was a gift of fate."

"Rich and Beloved"

In 2007, Alexander Nosik expanded his filmography with another leading role - Maxim Epishin in the TV series “Rich and Beloved”.

Plot: One terrible day, the most ordinary English teacher Dasha Muratova (Natalia Zhitkova) is forced to radically change her life. Unwittingly, she becomes the head of the large Moscow pharmaceutical concern Hippocrates. The former owner of the concern, Dasha's older brother Vladimir, dies under mysterious circumstances. In addition to the holding, the grief-stricken Dasha also holds the growing orphan Katya (Sofya Vysokovskaya).

Goodbye to the usual life in the provinces, high school, big break and gatherings in the teachers' lounge with my friend Larisa. Hello, Moscow and the work to restore and restart the mothballed medical plant.

It won’t be easy for the “reluctant pharmaceutical queen” - the pharmacy business will have to be taken under strict control. But it will be even more difficult to establish contact with your own niece. Not everything is smooth in the personal life of the main character; now a rare man in the capital will be able to rise to the level of Dasha’s social level that has suddenly jumped up.

Then the artist starred in the leading roles of the films: “Mountaineers” (Egor), “Shores” (Dmitry Ivanovich Kovalsky), “Revenge” (Philip Aleksandrovich Kudasov).

"Family circumstances"

Among Alexander Nosik’s screen heroes was a single father. His actor played in Sergei Mezentsev’s melodrama “Family Circumstances.”

The film is about middle-aged people who find it difficult to get off the beaten track, even when it comes to love and happiness. After all, by this age everyone has their own established habits, big plans for the future, strong beliefs and various “family circumstances.” Both the main character of the series, Sasha Lyubochkin (Alexander Nosik), and the main character, Katya Romanova (Anna Banshchikova), are single parents. But besides children, there are also a lot of restless relatives in their lives who care about their well-being. Will they be able to build their own happiness, despite their caring relatives?

"Torgsin"

In 2020, the premiere of Dmitry Petrun’s crime drama “Torgsin” took place on the Rossiya TV channel. In the series, the actor played one of the main roles.

Plot: Moscow 1934. This is a time of great construction and great hopes. The Dneproges, Uralmash, Magnitka, Chelyabinsk Tractor, Moscow and Gorky Automobile Plants are built almost by hand. There is an urgent need to purchase equipment abroad, but where can we get gold and currency for industrialization?

For these purposes, Torgsins—“shops for trading with foreigners”—are operating throughout the country—oases of prosperity and abundance that Soviet people have not seen since pre-revolutionary times.

Lida Sokolskaya (Alexandra Bortich) is a girl with an excellent command of several foreign languages. Together with her brother Alexey (Aleksey Demidov), a specialist in precious stones and an employee of the Academy of Sciences, she moves from Leningrad to Moscow.

During the move, they find an old emerald pendant in their deceased father's belongings. Lida hopes to find out the history of this pendant, so she goes with it to Torgsin. There she meets the store director Viktor Serebrov (Grigory Antipenko).

Victor has to regularly and without pay carry out special orders from the chairman of the board Torgsin Yarovoy (Alexander Nosik), his friend, with whom he went through the entire civil war side by side. At the same time, Yarovoy does not suspect that his wife Anna (Ekaterina Klimova), an actress and socialite, is Victor’s mistress. Serebrov is burdened by his boss’s requests and his connection with Anna. But everything changes with the advent of Lida.

In total, Alexander has more than fifty diverse roles, mainly in TV series.

Then the artist bravely fought for the title of the strongest in the exciting and gambling television project “King of the Ring”. Among his rivals were his colleagues in the workshop - Igor Livanov and Evgeny Dyatlov.

Nosik recalls: “Of course, defending everything to the end is great, fighting for victory is even better. But getting into the ring is everything. There was one of the professionals, our world champions, who said: “Guys, you entered the ring, you have already done your job.” And I, in general, think that he is right... I was interested. Because it’s like being like this, going into the ring... Still, it’s controllable, it’s among professionals, it’s interesting. I really met a lot of interesting people."

In 2007, the actor also proved himself in the extreme tests of the TV show “Lord of the Mountain.” He was on the same team with Ekaterina Guseva, Alexei Nemov, Olga Budina, Lolita, Laima Vaikule.

In the program “I want a house abroad!” Alexander acted as a “realtor”. The actor helped our compatriots purchase real estate in other countries. “I went into the apartment and tried to catch on to what I liked,” the TV presenter said. “I tried to feel like a potential buyer who likes interesting solutions, architecture, design, nature, in the end.”

At one time, the actor was the co-host of the popular Channel One project “Between Us, Girls.” Alexander Nosik is sure that the program is unique, first of all, because “for the first time on the same field” two teams met - women's and men's, and they are "playing against one enemy - unresolved problems."

According to sources, he met his girlfriend Alla (his first common-law wife) on a train while on his way to his mother’s dacha. They began a whirlwind romance, despite the fact that she had two children and was 10 years older than the actor. They lived together for about eight years, Alla even wanted to give birth to Nosik’s child, but he refused. This decision put an end to their relationship, and they separated.

But while participating in the “Secret to a Million” program, Nosik announced to the whole country that he could have children (he did special tests), but was very afraid of it.

Teaching

Since 2011, Alexander Nosik has been teaching acting at the Moscow State Institute of Culture at the Faculty of Media Communications and Audiovisual Arts. And in 2014, he began collaborating with Arina Sharapova’s School of Arts and Media Technologies. The artist was offered to head the Acting Studio.

Alexander liked the project and almost immediately agreed: “I take this process of teaching very seriously. After all, you are responsible for the final result. And although we all understand that great success can only be achieved through hard work and talent, it is the teacher’s task to arouse interest in the matter. I hope I can handle it."

Charity

Since December 2020, Alexander Nosik has been the president of the Indifference charity foundation for children. No". The organization takes care of babies with congenital external pathologies.

“Everyone in life wants to be beautiful. It's good when you're lucky and you hear from childhood that you're cute. However, it is worse when you have some kind of natural deficiency or acquired injury. Such children are usually very self-conscious. But there is no need to do this. After all, we all have the right to life, health and beauty,” notes the actor.

Personal life

Alexander always enjoyed success with the opposite sex and was in several civil marriages. However, he did not come to family harmony immediately.

The actor admits: “Thank God, I was lucky as a man: being, so to speak, a boy with a pretty face, I was never deprived of female attention. I always felt, understood and saw their interest in me. But everything turned out quite harshly for me with the opposite sex: apparently, it was my unapproachable appearance, on the one hand, and the same crazy, wild fear of approaching the girl I liked, on the other. The female gender was very scary for me, I was terribly afraid of it. Over time, I got used to it, and the women became bolder. Everything is fine now."

In 2011, Alexander Nosik officially got married. His wife's name is Olga. The actor says about his chosen one and meeting her: “We met in the sky, on an airplane. Right up there! My colleagues and I were flying on tour, and my friend Vitalik Khodin, with whom we are currently working, noticed: “Look, what a girl!” I saw it and said, “Wow!”

We met, chatted with her the entire flight, and in the evening Olga gave us a short excursion and came to the performance. Well, then - correspondence, meetings. That's how it all happened. My wife's first degree is a lawyer, and her second degree is a production designer. She has an amazing creative approach, she is an absolutely alive person, full of energy, an “atomic bomb,” as I call her: she has a sea of desires, a sea of ideas, this is such an “engine of progress.”

Interview

About the profession

“The profession of an actor is a diagnosis. What everyone is being treated for (mental disorders), we are developing it.”

“In my profession, I am not immune from anything: today I have everything, but tomorrow I will have nothing. I even once had a period where I worked as a bartender. I needed money, so I had to go around: in the evening - to the theater, at night - to the restaurant.”

“The theater for an actor is salvation. If you really look at it, most of us - people in this profession - play in the theater what they are not allowed to play in the cinema. Thanks to the theater, I get more pleasure than from cinema. An amazing thing: the same thing happened to my father. To be objective, viewers knew him in the movies as a comedy actor. In reality, in the theater, my father played completely different roles, mostly tragic ones, and he gravitated towards this much more.”

“It’s just that those who are given the gift of comedy think that this is an easy genre. For me personally, acting in comedy is much harder.”

“I consider my career successful because I am still in demand. Still, roles find me, even if not as many as I would like and not always the way I want. But there are a lot of interesting ones. And when the director believes me and says: “I know you will do it. Think about what you want,” this is probably the highest praise. So, after all, there is, it means the career is successful.”

About his status in cinema

“I only have one full-length film under my belt, everything else is series. Apparently, I have already occupied some kind of niche. Well, what should an actor do if they don’t take him to films, but they offer him to play in TV series? Probably agree, because I want to work, I want to earn money.”

About popularity

“I feel like a popular person. But everything didn’t come right away. After the premiere of the film “Flowers from the Winners” (this was my film debut - and immediately the main role), I thought: “That’s it! Tomorrow you won’t even go outside. Here it is, glory! And I lay under the covers in horror the entire next day. My family just laughed at me. And then there was silence for a whole year. No offers, no interviews. Thanks to this picture, I realized that the price of popularity is pennies, and therefore my roof remained in place.”

About fans

“And if we talk about fans, we can’t say that there are many of them, but they are still observed. My relationship with them boils down to the fact that I meekly sign autographs and take photographs.”

About father

“On the one hand, there is a joker, the life of the party, a lover of jokes. And when alone - sad, thinking, reading classics. He was an absolute pacifist. And in my youth, some conflicts arose in the yard, I wanted to swing, play sports. Because of this, we had constant arguments. “An actor doesn’t need this,” he said, “an actor should be a subtle, vulnerable person, and not a jock.” Still, my father wanted me to become an actor.”

My father always told me: “An actor is only with a wounded heart, an actor cannot defend himself, he cannot be angry, aggressive, strong. It has to be weak for the pain to penetrate.”

About mom

“The harshest spectator is my mother. Assistant directors more than once turned to my parents when I was little, asking them to send me to the cinema: “Of course, the son of Masha and Valera. Let's invite him!” But my mother always opposed it, and now I understand: she was right. It’s more difficult for a child to survive the so-called stardom.”

About Me

“I really am a womanizer. What, isn't he a womanizer? I really love the fair sex. I treat women with both a certain horror and a certain reverence. I love looking at them, I love admiring them, they are interesting to me. I love women, but that doesn't mean I pursue every one. Although, if I am free, I can do whatever I want. If my heart is busy, then no: when they really love, they don’t go to the left.”

About dreams

“There is a cohort of directors who make interesting, sometimes controversial, films. I would like to get to each of them, but I won’t name their names. I also won’t say that I dream of playing Hamlet, but in a more mature age Lear. If you strive for these roles, you can miss out on many interesting other roles and young, as yet unknown, directors. I want to work in big cinema, television, and theater. Let everything be as it will be.”
