Family of actress Valeria Khodos, her biography, husband and children

BIOGRAPHY

Valeria was born and raised in Kyiv.
From a very early age, the girl was on stage: she played in a drama club, sang in a choir and a jazz ensemble. She also studied music seriously and still enjoys playing the piano in her free time. In 10th grade, Lera found herself at the Ivan Franko Theater for the play “The Master and Margarita.” At that moment she finally realized that she only wanted to be an actress. “I was so shocked by the actors’ performance and the atmosphere they created on stage that I unbearably wanted to go backstage, and I clearly felt that my place was next to them. I wanted to feel, play and surprise, like the Frankish people!” – recalls Valeria.

After graduating from school, the girl entered the Kiev National University of Theater, Film and Television. I.K. Karpenko-Kary (course of S. Moiseev).

Now she devotes all her time to work, and Valeria has recently been teaching at the Institute of Culture and, judging by how well her students treat her, she has it It turns out not too bad.

Despite the fact that the actress has almost no time for her personal life, she finds the opportunity to play sports, thanks to which she manages to keep herself in great shape. Valeria tries to devote time to studying English and playing the piano.

Understanding that appearance is very important for an actress, Hodos not only tries to eat right, but also monitors the beauty of her skin. One of the actress’s beauty secrets is Asahi lymphatic drainage massage, which her aunt taught her, which allows her to look much younger than her age.

“My aunt is an example for me of how you can look 10 years younger without outside interventions or injections, because I really love natural beauty,” shares the actress.

THEATER

While still a fourth-year student, Valeria Khodos was cast in the lead role in the play “The Dove” based on Jean Anouilh’s play “Colomba”. The director Andrei Bakirov himself invited her to audition, and the girl did a great job. Subsequently, the young actress was even nominated for the “Kiev Pectoral” award.

Then there was the graduation performance “In the Burning Darkness”, where Valeria played Juan, and a long work at the Young Theater.

In the play “Satisfaction” based on Shakespeare’s play “The Merchant of Venice,” Valeria Khodos was supposed to play Jessica. However, during the work, the original concept of the production changed, and as a result, the actress got the role of Portia.

“It was a special experience! - Valeria admits, - The first work on the role of resistance. Portia is an anti-hero, she is a very complex, smart, cunning, woman of her own. Her actions are difficult to explain, she loves, but at the same time humiliates, tests, tests her strength... But she has her own truth, her own principles, her own attitude towards life and towards men. And she is unperturbed by these principles! It’s very interesting to play a woman with exactly these characteristics and traits that are not inherent to me as a person!”

Another work of Valeria Khodos is a girl in love in the play “Eyes of a Blue Dog” based on G.G. Marquez. This heroine is not at all like the wayward Portia, but she also became one of the actress’s favorites.

Other theater works:

  • “Quartet for two” (dir. A. Petrov) - Evgenia
  • “The Picky Love of Thrushbeard” (dir. Yu. Maslak) - Korolevna
  • “Round Dance of Love” (dir. S. Moiseev) - a girl of easy virtue
  • “Athenian Evenings” (dir. I. Slavinsky) – Natasha

For a long time, Valeria was so passionate about theater that she didn’t even think about acting in films. “Theater is what I live by, what inspires me. And of course I love theater most of all!” - she said. But soon the young interesting actress was noticed by directors and began to actively invite her to their projects.

Valeria Khodos - at the maximum of possibilities

We know this actress from the TV series “Trap”, “Katerina”, “Don’t Swear” and many others. She was Goryansky’s wife, Sumskaya’s daughter, Popov’s fiancée - about this in the interview...

— Lera, your filmography includes a dozen leading roles in top-rated films, and the recent one, “The Good Guy,” was negative for the first time. Liked?

— There are no limits to perfection, as they say! I remember my teacher Alexander Nikolaevich Getmansky telling me how he worked on a new role in the play. I was looking for different plasticity, gestures, and felt certain external changes. And when they took photos during the rehearsal and hung up the posters, he saw... Hetmansky, and not his hero. He was upset because it seemed to him that he had completely reincarnated. Something similar happened to me. But this is not surprising: you put something into the image, and the result always turns out a little differently. As athletes say, in order to perform one hundred percent at the Olympics, you need to give two hundred percent in training. So I do: I put as much as possible into each role, and God grant that at least some of it shows up in the frame.

FANS AND FAKES

— Many now famous actors studied in your course - Katya Kuznetsova, Yana Glushchenko, Mark Drobot. Judging by the photos on social networks, you and Yana often see each other...

- These are not my pages! I am neither on VKontakte nor on Facebook.

- And everything is so plausible. More than a thousand friends on FB...

— I often talk about this in interviews, but it’s not yet possible to fight scammers. And I don’t want to waste time on conflicts... Although something still needs to be done about it! After all, many people are starting to write to these Lerams. There was a situation when a girl who pretended to be me began to openly flirt on social networks with an actor I knew. He suspected a trick, because he knew that I was dating a young man. I called my agent, he immediately said that it was not me...

- Do you read what is written on these pages?

- No. Although there is a VKontakte group created by fans who follow my work. I go there sometimes. There are a lot of photos and articles about me, it’s nice that people keep track of everything. I am grateful to them. By the way, regarding friends: Yana is my friend, with whom we have been together since our first year at the institute. It is no longer a secret that she recently got married, and I am sincerely happy for her. Unfortunately, due to filming, I was not able to go to her for painting in Odessa, but I received a video from the wedding. And the other day she and her husband called and said that they would be with me in 20 minutes. It was so nice - I love unexpected encounters! We had fun until three in the morning.

LOCATOR EARS

— You have extensive experience working with the masters of Ukrainian cinema. Do you turn to them for advice?

— I can always consult with Slava Dovzhenko - he is one of my best partners, with whom I have worked a lot. He will help both as a director and as an actor. In “Katerina” the partners on the set were Natalya Sumskaya and Anatoly Khostikoev. Despite the fact that I have been in cinema for many years, actors of this level are unattainable values for me. I grab any hint, any clue - when collaborating with such artists, your ears should be like locators! (Laughs.) And it’s also very comfortable with them - they work “gently”, never adjust others to their needs.

I would also like to say about Vladimir Goryansky - he and I starred in the film “The Good Guy”. His advice really helped me build the image of my character. From time to time he whispered to me: “Don’t react to conflicts, keep everything to yourself. Nastya doesn't care. She’s like water off a duck’s back.” There is a scene in the film where my heroine should not reveal her excitement to her husband after learning that the man she loves is in the hospital. Vladimir, who was my husband in the film, told me to slowly “drown” my excitement in a glass of water. It turned out interesting. I really liked that Vladimir delved so deeply into what I was doing. I was happy inside: “That means he’s interested in me.”

FITNESS SPRINT

— How do you restore strength when you have a lot of work? I know that you filmed the 100-episode project “Don’t Swear” from morning until late at night, almost seven days a week...

— Cinema inspires me incredibly. But coming home and sitting down to watch a comedy to distract myself is not my way. Although many actors relax this way. I choose difficult films in which I find clues for the next shooting day. I like not to fight fatigue, but to benefit from it. During those crazy shifts that you remember, one movie stretched over three evenings, so it was difficult not to fall asleep. In principle, this is a prohibited technique. Just as a play should be read in one sitting, a movie should be watched in its entirety. But I had to watch it in parts - I wanted to get inspiration from a good game and get some sleep.

Colleague Yana Sobolevskaya is well versed in cinema. I used to call her: “Save me, I urgently need a good film!” She sent long lists. Thanks to her, I saw the film “The Pianist” - I don’t know how it passed me by before... For a week then I flew around the set, I was so inspired by the role of Isabelle Huppert.

— If you wake up in the morning and your mood is not good, what do you do?

- In this case, you need to occupy your head with something else, switch. Now I have become a fitness fanatic. I became interested in cycling - this is cardio training on special exercise bikes. Develops endurance by exercising to the maximum with minimal rest. Crazy workload, during which it is so hard that it seems: this is definitely the last time. Afterwards you think: what a great fellow I am for surviving! And then I can’t miss the next workout. In addition, to attend such classes, you need to sign up at seven in the morning; the number of places in the group is limited. How can you not go after that? I also love cycling - I dream of finally opening the season!

Until the third year of university, students were prohibited from acting, and Valeria Khodos herself did not think about cinema - the girl’s thoughts were occupied by the theater. But one day, the director’s assistant came into the group to take photos of the students for the database of film actors. Valeria didn’t want to be photographed, but... They still took a photo with the actress - the background was a gray wall near the buffet. Hodos appeared without makeup, without hairstyle, in jeans - in a casual look.

INTERVIEW:

About the profession:

“Our profession is to defend our place in the sun. It’s not enough to play one wonderful role, you must not stop, create something new, not repeat yourself, look for new ways, jump over your head.”

On preparing for a role in the theater:

“It helps me a lot in my work to watch performances, both modern and old, recorded. Firstly, a talented game inspires and sets a high standard for work; secondly, it is always useful to learn from others. I try to read a lot - the answer in my image can be found unexpectedly.”

On overcoming difficulties:

“I try to decide everything myself. Because I don't like to complain and cry. People have a lot of problems without me, but here I am with my problems. But if I really need support, I go to my loved ones. They will always help."

Valeria's father Gai Germanika

It’s worth starting with the fact that the future director was born into a Moscow family closely connected with creativity. Her father is the Soviet and Russian journalist Igor Dudinsky, who published the literary and artistic collection “Muleta”, as well as the information newspaper “Evening Bell”. Later he joined the International Art Foundation.

Igor Dudinsky practically did not participate in raising his daughter, who was born on March 1, 1984. A year later, he left the family, and the girl was raised by her mother and stepfather.

Valeria Gai Germanika: “I was very independent and started spending time with peers early, ending up in bad company.”

And yet, the father provided his former family with financial support so that his daughter could receive a decent education. She studied at a prestigious lyceum, but was not too keen on knowledge. She liked to go for walks and chat with friends. Valeria had an unpredictable and explosive character and was fond of informal subcultures. All this had an impact on her worldview, further personal life and creativity.

When the time came to get a passport, the girl decided to change her surname and patronymic, leaving part of her first name and eventually becoming the well-known Valeria Gai Germanika (patronymic from her stepfather - Alexandrovna). She took her middle name Guy from the novel “Spartacus” by Raffaello Giovagnoli, and her surname Germanicus in honor of the beloved of the Roman emperor Lucius Sulla. Her grandmother gave her this idea.
