Eligible bachelor actor Mikhail Mamaev, his novels and today's life

Mikhail Mamaev: childhood years

The future “Prince Olenev” was born in Moscow, and a joyful event occurred in February 1966. Mikhail Mamaev was born into a family of an economist and journalist. The boy inherited his excellent ear for music from his great-grandmother, who once sang at the Bolshoi Theater. Both the grandmother and her child had a musical education. She was a pianist, and Mikhail’s father sang in amateur performances in his youth. It is not surprising that as a child the boy was interested in music and sang in the choir. However, this hobby never developed into a profession.

When Mikhail Mamaev was little, he seriously intended to become a scout and imagined his future exploits. To prepare himself for this dangerous profession, he even practiced karate at one time. He also liked other sports, for example athletics and swimming. He also discovered literary talent early on; the child began writing stories already in the first grade. Moreover, one of his first works was a science fiction novel. Some of Mikhail’s creations were even published in Komsomolskaya Pravda through the efforts of his father.

The mysterious world of cinema also fascinated the future “Prince Olenev”. Mikhail Mamaev as a child was a regular at the Patriot cinema, which was located next to his house. It is known that he revised the French film “The Three Musketeers” several times. He first appeared on a film set at the age of 15 - he got a small role in the school film “The Jester.”

Childhood

Mikhail Mamaev was born in Moscow. His father worked as a journalist, and his mother was an economist. The boy grew up to be a very gifted child. By inheritance, Mikhail received an excellent ear for music. His great-grandmother was a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, and his grandmother, having a classical musical education, was a pianist. And my father had a wonderful baritone and at one time sang in amateur performances. It is not surprising that, having such roots, Mikhail also studied music as a child - he sang in the choir. But things didn't go any further. He never received a musical education; the boy had other interests.

As Mikhail himself admits, as a child he dreamed of becoming a scout. Preparing himself for future exploits, at one time he was engaged in five sections at once: karate, karting, athletics, alpine skiing and swimming.

From an early age, Mikhail showed literary talent. Already in the first grade the boy began to write. At such a young age, he set his sights on nothing less than a science fiction novel. His father, being a practical man, brought him to his friends at Komsomolskaya Pravda. There, his first works began to be published in the school column “Scarlet Sail”. By the end of school, the boy had a stack of publications and recommendations.

Another childhood hobby of Mikhail was cinema. He admits: “As a child, I couldn’t live without cinema. There was a cinema “Patriot” near our house in Moscow; I went to see the French film “The Three Musketeers” several times. I cried when I finished the week with bad grades and wasn’t allowed to go to the cinema on Saturday.” And at the age of fifteen, Mikhail first experienced what an acting profession is, starring in the school film “The Jester.”

The love for literature and cinema determined Mikhail’s future fate.

Journalist

In addition to Komsomolskaya Pravda, Mikhail was published in other newspapers, as well as in the magazine Yunost. And at the age of 19, his first collection of poems was published in “Young Guard”.

After graduating from the Faculty of Journalism at MGIMO, Mikhail refused to be assigned to a bureau in one of the Latin American countries. Instead, he got a job at Ogonyok magazine. Together with Artem Borovik, they worked in the international department and did joint projects. Mikhail liked his work, but still he felt that journalism alone was not enough for him. The young man “fell ill” with the theater...

Theater

Somehow, in the early 90s, Mikhail met the assistant of a director who was staging an entrepreneurial performance “Caligula” on the stage of the Moscow Planetarium. Thanks to her, Mikhail was invited to the role of the court poet. While playing in the play, the aspiring actor read his own poems from the stage.

The performance was a great success, and Mikhail, on this creative upsurge, entered the theater school named after. Shchukin. The actor recalls about that time: “Everything was easy for me: girls, money: The latter were quickly spent on the former and easily earned again - a continuous carnival of love, wine, fun.” And then an incident happened that turned his life upside down...

Midshipman

After performing ten performances, Mikhail and his friends decided to celebrate this event in the restaurant of the actors’ house. The fun was in full swing when he decided to dance on the table. The dance attracted the attention of director Svetlana Druzhinina, who was also in the restaurant at that moment. They met, and a few days later Druzhinina invited Mikhail to play the main role in the film “Vivat, midshipmen!” - the second film in the trilogy about midshipmen. True, for the sake of filming, he had to sacrifice his studies at the Shchukin School, since the director categorically stated: “It’s either filming or your studies.”

In the film “Vivat, midshipmen!” Mamaev played the handsome Count Olenev, in love with the young princess Fike, the future Catherine II, played by Kristina Orbakaite. Mikhail admits that during filming he became very interested in his partner: “My heart was completely broken. On the one hand, I was afraid to approach her, she was an unattainable star for me, but on the other hand, I also felt her sympathy for me. Such relationships are inevitable if you “play love”. For your eyes to glow with passion, you need to experience something similar. At that time I was not yet a professional actor, so I let the plot pass through me, I did not act, but lived my character.”

Filming in “Midshipmen” gave a lot to the young actor. In addition to acting, which he mastered thanks to the director and the actors around him, he also had to learn to fence and ride a horse. He recalls: “I remember how they taught me horse riding: they put me on a horse, showed me what to press, what to pull, and then the horse threw me off right away. Then they explained to me that with a horse you have to, like with a woman, put pressure on it with your will. I walked up to the horse, rested my forehead on its huge muzzle and said: “Do you understand who is the boss here?” And immediately the training went well.”

90s. Theater and cinema

During the filming period, Mikhail entered GITIS, the acting department. In two years he graduated and received a diploma with honors. After graduation, Mikhail entered the Ermolova Theater. He spent only one season there, but is still grateful to the chief director Vladimir Andreev for the experience he gained while working for him. Since then, Mikhail Mamaev has been performing in enterprises.

Meanwhile, the role of Count Olenev not only made Mikhail famous throughout the country, but also secured Mamaev’s persistent image of a “midshipman” in the press. Mikhail has nothing against such fame, but in fact, he later played many completely different roles in films. Therefore, it would not be correct to assign any role to him.

After “Midshipmen,” Mamaev starred in the role of Sergeant Goglidze in the action film “Caravan of Death,” which tells about the fighting in the border zone of Afghanistan after the official end of the war. Then he starred with famous directors I. Krasnopolsky and V. Uskov in the film “The Thief”, where he played the sharp-tempered, eccentric role of a gang leader. In this series, he got into the role so much that he even suffered from it. One day, returning home after filming, he was arrested for “forgery” of documents. The law enforcement officers did not recognize him in makeup - Mamaev was bald and had scars. He recalls: “I sat for three hours and at first I even enjoyed it, it was new: I got so into character! But then, remembering that in four hours I had to be on the set, I became worried and began to show that my scars were artificial...”

Hollywood and Türkiye

The mid-90s were a difficult time for our cinema. Mikhail was invited to act less and less often. After working in a commercial company, he one day got into a car and went to Turkey to visit his beloved girlfriend, who worked in Istanbul in a modeling agency. He spent a long time there. At first the work was not bad, he was invited to appear in commercials and music videos. But soon the grace ended, and Mikhail was forced to get a job as a bartender. Mikhail returned to Russia after breaking up with his girlfriend. And as a creative person, he poured out all his experiences onto the pages of his new book.

Mikhail’s biography also included a period of work in Hollywood. It all started with a casting in Moscow. The actor made an impression and was invited to play a role in the film “The Marquis de Sade” (1996). Then there were two main roles in two different episodes of Zalman King’s series “The Red Shoe Diaries”, which was filmed in the USA and Russia.

After working in Hollywood, Mikhail returned to Russia. He says: “American cinema requires a special, individual approach, like any other, however. In order to film and work actively there, you need to go there and make a career there. And at the level of promotion, in the state in which I am now, working here and expecting that you will be invited there every time there is a role for you is unrealistic. I had to choose what was more important at this stage: staying there or returning here. I decided for myself this way: “this” will not go anywhere, and if there is such a need and desire, I can always take a ticket and fly “there”.”

New works

In recent years, Mikhail Mamaev has been working a lot both on stage and on the set. Back in 1999, he played Lieutenant Lansky in the play “The Empress” directed by Olga Glubokova in an independent theater project. Subsequently, he played this role more than 200 times. Then there was the role of Geoffrey in the play “The Secrets of Chateau Shenon”.

In 2004, viewers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the actor’s new work in an independent theater project. Mamaev played Eliot in the play “Intimate Comedy”.

Among the actor’s numerous film works in the period 2002-2004, it is worth noting the heir to Emperor Alexander III in the series “Alexander’s Love”, as well as the main roles in the serial films “Treasures of the Dead” (Sergei) and “Chess Player” (Pavel).

Failed journalist

It is interesting that Mikhail Mamaev was close to connecting his life with journalism. By the time he graduated from school, he already had many publications in Komsomolskaya Pravda, and his works were also published in the magazine Yunost. Already at the age of 19, Mikhail became the author of a collection of poems.

It is not surprising that he decided to continue his education at MGIMO, choosing the Faculty of Journalism. According to the assignment, Mamaev was supposed to go to work in one of the Latin American countries, but this prospect did not appeal to him. Mikhail chose to become an employee of the Ogonyok magazine and worked in the international department. But even then he developed a new hobby - theater, which forced him to gradually move away from journalism.

Theater

Mikhail Mamaev is an actor who received his first theatrical role by accident. The director's assistant offered him to play in the play "Caligula", which was staged on the stage of the Moscow Planetarium. Through the efforts of the girl, Mikhail got the role of the court poet. Interestingly, the aspiring actor was even allowed to recite poems from the stage that he himself composed.

The audience liked the production, and Mamaev seriously thought about making acting his profession. Wanting to acquire the relevant knowledge, he became a student at the Shchukin Theater School. Mikhail fondly remembers his student years, which he describes as an endless carnival of fun and love.

"Viva, midshipmen!"

The role that gave the actor fame became another gift that fate gave him. Mikhail was relaxing in a restaurant with friends and, in the midst of the fun, decided to perform a dance on the table. The young dancer made an indelible impression on director Svetlana Druzhinina, who happened to be among the guests of the restaurant. The acquaintance took place, and a few days later Druzhinina turned to Mamaev with an offer to star in the film “Vivat, midshipmen!”

For the sake of this role, Mikhail Mamaev left the Shchukin School, as Svetlana set this condition for him. His character was the handsome Prince Olenev, who, according to the plot, is infatuated with the young princess Fike, who later became the Great Empress Catherine.

Mamaev does not hide the fact that during filming he fell a little in love with his partner, Kristina Orbakaite, but their romance never happened. But thanks to the film “Viva, midshipmen!” the young man mastered the art of fencing and learned to ride a horse. The last task turned out to be difficult for him, the horse even threw him off once, but there were no serious injuries.

Eligible bachelor actor Mikhail Mamaev, his novels and today's life

Mikhail Mamaev is familiar to viewers not only as a Soviet and Russian actor, but also as a TV presenter, writer and singer.

Mikhail made his film debut in his teens. But the actor gained wide popularity after the release of the film “Vivat, Midshipmen!” The handsome, fit, charming young man was remembered by many precisely because of this picture.

For many fans of this film last year, the news about the continuation of filming was joyful. Years go by, and Mamaev is still the same young handsome man who breaks the hearts of the fairer sex.

Today, an attractive man with a textured appearance at 54 years old still remains an enviable bachelor, because he has never been to the registry office as a groom. Judging by his social networks, he enjoys being single and is in no hurry to get married.

Most often, the media exaggerates not only successes in cinema, but also the personal life of the actor. During his life, the man had many affairs, both with famous women in the world of show business and not.

After the release of the film “Midshipmen,” many attributed to Mikhail an affair with Pugacheva’s daughter. But as it turned out at that time, both actors’ hearts were not free.

One of the first nameless companions from Turkey introduced him to the world of cinema and television of this sunny country. Mamaev’s short romance ended after his betrayal. From this connection, he remembers several filming in commercials and a Turkish TV series.

For the same reason, the loving actor’s second romance with a girl was ruined. To this day, remembering his mysterious companions, he tries not to mention their names in the press.

Later, the media was full of news about Mikhail’s affair with the famous blonde Elena Korikova, who is also secretly called “the record holder for the number of novels.” But the short relationship did not end family life.

Mamaev also does not say the name of his next companion, a famous Russian model, with whom he was together for about two months.

Several years ago, a man succumbed to the persuasion of his friends and became a participant in the famous Russian program “Let's Get Married.” Having chosen a girl, their relationship did not work out. He later admitted that he was not ready to resort to such “barbaric methods” to find a wife.

At 55 years old, the TV presenter still appears at social events every time, accompanied by new girls, and each time one is more beautiful than the other.

The famous bachelor enjoys life, lives for his own pleasure, constantly going on trips in the company of beautiful people. We hope and wish Mikhail to find his only love.

Early 90s

Mamaev never graduated from the Shchukin School, but he managed to receive a honors diploma from GITIS. After this, the young man was accepted into Ermolova’s theater, but he worked there for only one season. It is possible that the actor’s departure after the release of the film “Vivat, Midshipmen!” which has become in demand is associated with a busy filming schedule.

What films and TV series did Mikhail Mamaev star in after “Midshipmen,” whose films and biography are discussed in this article? In the action movie “Caravan of Death,” the actor embodied the image of Sergeant Goglidze; the film told about the battles in the border zone of Afghanistan. Then Krasnopolsky and Uskov invited the young man to their film “The Thief”, entrusting him with the bright role of the gang leader.

Films with the participation of Mikhail Mamaev

"Viva, midshipmen!" was not the first film in the actor’s career - for the first time he starred as a fifteen-year-old teenager in a tiny episode of the film “The Jester,” and, perhaps, Mikhail liked this experience so much that in the future he leaned towards the acting profession.

After “Midshipmen,” Mikhail’s cinematic biography continued - he starred in the movie “Weekend with a Killer,” and now the list of films with the actor’s participation consists of more than thirty works.

In the movie "Weekend with a Killer"

Mamaev also gained experience working in foreign studios. He successfully passed the casting for a role in the Hollywood film “The Marquis de Sade”, and later in the series “The Red Shoe Diaries”. The actor had many offers in his homeland.

Svetlana Druzhinina, with whom Mikhail developed warm friendly relations, invited him to another of her historical projects - “Secrets of Palace Coups”, he starred in such rating films as “Balzac’s Age, or All Men Are Theirs...”, “Students” and others.

Türkiye and Hollywood

In the mid-90s, cinema plunged into the abyss of crisis, and Mikhail Mamaev, who began acting less often, felt this. For some time, personal life became more important for the actor than professional fulfillment. He decided to move to Turkey to live with his girlfriend, who worked in one of the Istanbul modeling agencies. At first, Mikhail easily found work; the attractive actor was often invited to appear in music videos and advertisements. However, gradually there was no more work, and therefore Mamaev retrained as a bartender for some time. After breaking up with his girlfriend, he decided to return to his homeland.

Mamaev’s biography also includes a short period of work in Hollywood. In 1996, he starred in the film “The Marquis de Sade”, having passed the casting in Moscow. After this there was a television project “The Red Shoe Diaries”, filming was carried out in the States and Russia. However, conquering Hollywood turned out to be a difficult task, so Mikhail chose to focus on working in his native country.

Personal life of celebrities.

Despite the fact that the actor has a lot of fans, the personal life of Mikhail Mamaev

not yet arranged. He is lonely, although whole stories have been written about his novels. After the actor appeared in the film “Vivat, Midshipmen,” people started talking about him as a hero-lover. This was partly true. According to Mikhail, he always met girls very easily. After entering the Shchukin School, he had the opportunity to earn good money. Mikhail’s income came from the play “Caligula,” in which he participated. Easy money influenced the personal life of Mikhail Mamaev - he spent it on girls and fun parties as easily as he earned it. During one of the banquets regarding the next performance, director Svetlana Druzhinina approached the already fairly tipsy young actor and, having met Mikhail, a few days later invited him to star in “Midshipmen.”

While working on this film, the young actor developed strong feelings for his partner, Kristina Orbakaite. In the film, they had to play passionate feelings, and this helped the embarrassed Mikhail get to know Christina better. But their romantic relationship ended immediately after filming. To work on this painting, Mikhail had to quit school. Later he went into business and organized his own commercial company. And then love again intervened in the personal life of Mikhail Mamaev. He fell in love with a model from an Istanbul agency. For the sake of his beloved girl, Mamaev left for Turkey, leaving his company. At first, he was invited to shoot music videos and commercials, but later interest in the Russian actor faded, and the actor had to work as a bartender to earn a living.

Mikhail's falling in love played a cruel joke on him - he began a fleeting affair with a rich and very beautiful Turkish woman who often visited the bar where he worked. The passion captured him so much that, forgetting about everything, Mikhail spent all his time with his new passion. The result was disastrous - both women left him. After these events, he realized that there was nothing keeping him in Turkey anymore and returned to Russia, where he almost immediately got to the casting of “The Red Shoe Diaries” and was approved for the role. During filming, an office romance broke out again, turning Mikhail’s work into a complete holiday. But it lasted only two months - exactly as long as filming lasted. Despite the fact that there were many novels in the actor’s life, he endures every separation very hard. A new feeling helps him recover from such blows of fate.
