Somewhere in the midst of these conversations, I discovered that I was attracted to the person of Jesus. Instead of a hard and demanding God, he is clearly revealed in the Bible as one who can be approached. And actually, even more than that. God was not passively neutral towards me. Jesus wanted to have a relationship with me, a homosexual. There weren't fireworks in the sky when I invited Jesus into my life, but He did light me up from the inside out. And over the next two years, Jesus and I went on a journey to heal my heart. Finally I wasn't alone. Hope.
God showed me who I was, made me feel pure inside for the first time, and helped me heal from the pain of memories of childhood sexual abuse. God himself satisfied my need for love, and then he gave me real friendship with the kind of guys I always dreamed of being friends with. He made me a completely new person. I could go on and on about how else Jesus has changed my life, but more than anything else, I finally, I finally found a relationship with Someone who will never leave me and who loves me unconditionally.
