The Ural beauty was born and raised in the city of Yekaterinburg. From early childhood, the girl with an angelic appearance was destined for a successful modeling career. And Polina herself, already in her school years, began to seriously think about the podium.
In 2011, she decided to work as a model for the first time in her hometown and immediately attracted the attention of serious representatives of the fashion industry. At first, she began to receive calls from prestigious Russian agencies, and soon Western fashion managers became interested in the young model. Soon, 15-year-old Polina was already flying to Tokyo, where she was caught in an earthquake, which she survived together with the Japanese.
Immediately after school, the girl received an offer to work abroad and did not miss her chance. In a short time, she made a successful career in Europe and the USA, and in China she even wanted to continue her education, for which she began to study Chinese. But the plans of the Ural beauty were changed overnight by a phone call from Moscow.

The final of the national competition “Miss Russia 2017” took place the day before. 50 charming girls from all over the country went to Moscow to compete for the coveted crown. During the competition, which traditionally consisted of a fashion show in swimsuits, an appearance in evening dresses and an intellectual competition, three winners were determined. The winner of the title “Miss Russia 2017” was 21-year-old Polina Popova, who represented the Sverdlovsk region. After the results were announced, the winner hastened to thank the audience and fans for their support.
“I love you, Russia! I thank everyone. My victory is you! Happy holiday to all Orthodox Christians! On the day of a bright, good Easter, from the bottom of my heart I wish to love and certainly be a loved one, to dream about the unseen and strive for miracles with all my soul, not to live a day without faith and hope, to always be under the reliable protection of the wings of my angel,” the girl wrote in microblog.
Polina Popova said that she was studying Chinese. The girl loves to discover different countries of the world. The beauty also does not forget about physical activity; her favorite sport is tennis. Now the girl works as a model in different countries of Europe and Asia. The winner plans to enroll in one of the Russian universities.
With her charm, Polina managed to conquer the star jury, which included Laysan Utyasheva, Oksana Fedorova, Igor Chapurin, Miss Russia 2015 Sofia Nikitchuk, famous portrait photographer Jonathan Becker and Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova.

The title of first Vice-Miss was received by a participant from Moscow, Ksenia Alexandrova, and the second Vice-Miss was a 22-year-old resident of Bashkortostan, Albina Akhtyamova. The girls successfully passed all the tests and amazed the jury with their beauty and outlook.
The organizers did not skimp on prizes for the winners. Girls who took second and third place can go to study at any university in the world, and “Miss Russia” received three million rubles, a car from AVILON, the official dealer of Genesis, and the opportunity to represent our country at such prestigious international competitions as “Miss World” " and "Miss Universe". Last year's winner, Yana Dobrovolskaya, personally presented Polina with a white gold crown decorated with diamonds and pearls.
Throughout the evening, guests in the hall enjoyed not only the beauty of the girls, but also the performances of Russian show business stars. Ani Lorak, singer Elka, Stas Piekha, Nyusha and Dmitry Malikov came to support the participants at the competition.

Back in the summer of 2020, Polina participated in the casting for the Miss Russia competition, but did not really count on a positive response, since usually the winners of regional beauty contests get to Miss Russia.
This happened this time too. But together with “Miss Yekaterinburg”, the selection council also approved Popova’s candidacy - in 2020, the Sverdlovsk region was represented by several participants. Ural beauties have more than once become owners of the honorary title “Miss Russia”: previously, Ekaterinburg residents Irina Antonenko (2010) and Sofia Nikitchuk (2015) were deservedly recognized as Russian beauty queens.
Having gone through 3.5 weeks of preparation, of which Polina most remembered singing together in karaoke with Nikolai Baskov, who charged her with his bright energy, the girl performed spectacularly and won the hearts of Laysan Utyasheva, Sofia Nikitchuk, Oksana Fedorova, Igor Chapurin and Jonathan Becker who were on the jury. . As a result, Polina became the first blonde in ten years to win Miss Russia.
For first place in the competition, Polina was awarded a luxurious golden crown, generously studded with diamonds and pearls, a cash prize of three million rubles and a Hyndai Genesis car.
The winner decided to spend the cash prize on education, but not in China, but in Russia. Having traveled around the world, she realized that she wanted to build a career in her native country, and it was in Russia that she wanted to give birth and raise her future children.

The grand finale of the main national beauty contest took place in Moscow. 50 beauties from all over the country competed for the title of Miss Russia 2017. As always, contenders for the crown had to meet standard parameters: height not lower than 173 cm, age from 18 to 23 years, no erotic photography, tattoos and a stamp in the passport. Despite the fact that weight does not matter during the selection process, girls with curves do not yet enter the competition, although the organizers emphasize that they have been waiting and are waiting for plus size models. By the way, there are fewer and fewer blondes every year. This time the ratio was 7 versus 43 in favor of dark-haired people.
This year we had to give up some traditions a little because of the scandal with the harassment of participants in the 2016 show from the Caucasian republics. Firstly, not a single representative of the Caucasus took part in the show in 2017. Secondly, at the annual group photo, the girls abandoned bikinis and performed in dresses and even trousers.

But at the competition itself, which took place in the capital’s Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall, the fashion show in open swimsuits was not cancelled, to the delight of the audience.
As always, the girls competed not only with the length of their legs and other advantages of their figure and face, but also showed themselves at the intellectual stage, although not the most spectacular, but very demonstrative.
For many years (after the scandal with the failure of “Mrs. Russia” by Inna Zhirkova - ed.), the jury has been relying on girls who are not only beautiful, but also resourceful and comprehensively developed. And this time, the judges took into account how the ten finalists improvised, answering sudden questions from the presenters.

Thus, four of the Top 10 literally failed at this stage, unable to cope with the excitement. The choice fell on the one that coped with the task perfectly. As a result, the Miss Russia 2017 crown went to 21-year-old Polina Popova from the Sverdlovsk region.
