Wives of Russian football players in Maxim magazine (June 2014, Russia)

Childhood and family of Andrey Eshchenko

Andrey's hometown is Irkutsk. At the age of nine he was left without parents. They died in a fire. Their apartment was on fire, and no one managed to escape. He was raised by his grandmother's sister, who took guardianship of the boy. She worked as a secretary at a factory. So that Andrei would not be left to his own devices, the woman transferred him from a regular school to a boarding school, where he stayed from Monday to Friday, and spent weekends at his aunt’s house. According to Andrey’s recollections, it was not entirely easy at the boarding school. Children were not harmed there, but teenagers had to be able to stand up for themselves.

Russian national team defender Andrei Eshchenko gets tattoos in memory of the teams he played for

At first, the boy’s hobby was basketball, he played it from the age of seven, and then, on the advice of a friend, he signed up for the football section. At the age of ten, Yeshchenko began training at the local Zenit sports school. His first coach was Evgeniy Lensky. When Andrey grew up, he was invited to the local Zvezda team, which was at a higher level. He played in this team for no more than a year.

The beginning of Andrey Eshchenko's football career

While playing for Zvezda, the aspiring football player showed himself to be a resilient and purposeful player. The Khimki coach noticed him and invited him to his place. Andrei, to his surprise, very quickly fit into the core of this team and began to take the field in almost every game.

When this Moscow region team reached the Russian Cup, Andrei took the field in that match. The coach gave the player instructions to neutralize Vagner Love (CSKA forward). Yeshchenko coped with the task, the formidable Brazilian never had a single chance to take the Khimki goal, although the more experienced army team won that match.

Yeshchenko's transfer to Dynamo

The talented football player played for Khimki for about a year. As it turned out, Dynamo Kyiv scouts had long ago noticed him and watched him play. Dynamo Moscow, Arsenal and Dnepr also applied for this young defender.

Yeshchenko chose Kyiv, although there was no guarantee of getting into the main team. And so it happened, Andrei never made it into the main team. As the footballer himself says, the main players on this team are those who were taught from childhood that there is only one team in the world, and this team is Dynamo. Most likely, because of this, Andrey failed to gain a foothold in the team. At Dynamo, he participated in only eleven matches, managed to score one goal, after which he ended up on loan at Dnepr, then at Arsenal.

Wives of Russian football players in Maxim magazine (June 2014, Russia)

The June issue of the Russian Maxim published a candid photo shoot with the participation of the wives of Russian football players - Victoria Lopyreva, Inna Zhirkova and Maria Yeshchenko.

Victoria Lopyreva - wife of Fedor Smolov

Since childhood, have you dreamed of marrying a football player? I love football very much, but I have never wanted to marry a football player in my life! Several years ago, I was a co-host of the “Football Night” program and through my work I often communicated with famous football players. They are, of course, cheerful guys, very cool, they love their work, but being a strong support for a woman is, as I thought, not at all about them. But it’s true what they say: never say “never”! It was the football player who became my husband.

Are you going to Rio?

I really want to fly and cheer for our guys. You know, the championship organizers made it so that the wives of Russian football players will end up in the same hotel as the Portuguese team! Probably in order to prevent the Portuguese from concentrating in every possible way. (Laughs.)

Why don't we have such a cult of footballers' wives as in England?

Perhaps because the wives of most of our football players were almost always in the shadows. Due to their husbands' crazy schedules, they became housewives, taking care of the house and children exclusively. But everything is changing. By the way, do you already have my portrait hanging in your office?

Your portrait has been hanging on me since you became Miss Russia in 2003! That's the only thing I would take out of the fire. But could you score a penalty?

Penalty? One hundred percent yes!

Wish something for your husband, players and fans.

In Ancient Greece, when escorting men to war, they said: return with a shield or on a shield, that is, either a winner or died as a hero. So, I wish our entire team to return with a shield. And I wish the fans to lose their voices with joyful cries: “Gooool!!! Victory!!! Hurray!!!"

Inna Zhirkova is the wife of Yuri Zhirkov.

Are you jealous of your husband? Still, a famous football player, handsome, rich...

I'm not jealous. But you still need to control it. Recently I was leaving to film the reality show “Island”, and he changed the team while I was away! (Laughs.)

You really weren't fed or watered on this show?

Is it true! They ate what they caught. Coconuts, crabs, moray eels. And if they didn’t catch anyone, they remained hungry. I returned from there ten kilograms less than when I left.

Will you go to Rio?

I do not know yet. And it’s difficult to leave the children, and it’s unlikely that we’ll be able to see each other there often. But I really want it.

Inna, have you ever hit a ball yourself?

Certainly! Yura often plays with his son, but when he is not there, I have to. Both on the street and at home.

Have you already broken anything at home?

The chandelier has already been broken. I suspect this is just the beginning.

What do you wish for your husband?

Good luck! And most importantly - no injuries! And so every other time he comes with bandages on his legs. And to play as one whole, as a team. Then we will defeat everyone!

Maria Eshchenko is the wife of Andrei Eshchenko.

Are you nervous before the championship?

Not good. Before this shoot, for example, I was much more worried. This is my first time. It was scary! We are home girls, we are not used to media attention. Plus, I only gave birth six months ago, so consider this shoot a heroic act!

Will you go to Rio?

The husband said: “You have a child, stay at home.” So you will have to be sick at home.

How do you usually get sick?

Front of the TV. I scream when they score a goal. And even louder when they don’t score. Recently I noticed that if I watch it with my child, my husband always wins. So now everything depends on me.

It must be hard to be the wife of a football player? Everyday problems... Take your legs, for example. Are they big for Andrey?

Huge! It’s impossible to find jeans at all: my calves are so thick that nothing fits.

How do you feel when you see him fall on the field?

I can’t see it at all, I immediately feel bad! The previous injury was a nightmare. He was out of action for six months and went to Germany for treatment. And I was pregnant. I was waiting for him, I thought he would come back and help. And he returned on crutches... That’s where the tragedy lies!

Do you often have to be alone?

Often! After all, they are closed before the game.

What do we wish for our guys?

Victory! If they don’t win, let them not return. Then we will come to them ourselves.

Return of Andrey Eshchenko to Russia

When the player became a free agent, he returned to Russia. Immediately upon his return, Volga Nizhny Novgorod signed a contract with him. The defender played only twelve matches for this club. At the beginning of 2012, he was bought by the capital's Lokomotiv.

At Loko, the player managed to prove himself so much that, being no longer the youngest football player, he was invited to the national team. He received the invitation at the end of the summer of 2012, just before the national team’s game with the Ivory Coast team. But Andrey did not take part in that game. In September 2012, he made his debut in the national team; he took the field in a match against Israel. The player was twenty-eight years and seven months old.

Alpha type. The most beautiful wives of football players

Alena Seredova – Gianluigi Buffon (Italy)

The sultry Italian, the faithful wife of the number one Italian goalkeeper in the whole world, amazes with her grace, beauty and intelligent look. How could it be otherwise, since Slavic roots have an effect... Now the career of a fashion model is gradually fading away - Alena gave birth to two children and is showing all of Italy what a real devoted wife looks like.

Lara Alvarez – Sergio Ramos (Spain)

If you haven't watched Spanish television yet, it's worth starting. There are presenters like Lara. On top of that, she is also a television commentator, and during the broadcast of the match, she obviously spotted her husband. Thus, such a girl serves as additional motivation for the Spanish national team player - after all, having such beauty at home, he is simply obliged to win.

Irina Shayk – Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

In principle, one could write Russia in the title, because our Irina bewitched the best player on the planet. The winner of the Golden Ball not only has golden balls, Irina also has a lot of pleasant curves and an expressive look, so there really is nothing more a person could wish for.

Larisa Riquelme - Jonathan Fabbro (Paraguay)

The fame of the most famous and devoted fan of Paraguay Larisa was brought by the Italy-Paraguay match, where she was photographed with a Nokia phone between her breasts. Now she is the highest paid model in her country and the face of Ache deodorant, while also coming to all her husband’s football matches and enthusiastically supporting him in the stands.

Natalie Suliman – Kieran Richardson (England)

The famous fashion model and girlfriend of the Sunderland player will watch the World Cup matches with her husband from the stands, because, unfortunately, he was not included in the national team. Let's not worry too much about the player - I think such a sultry girl with an oriental charming appearance will have something to console him with.

Raffaella Fico – Mario Balotelli (Italy)

Who could the reckless and outrageous 25-year-old Italian model find? That's right, the same crazy and shocking Italian striker. Apparently now the couple is hanging out and partying together, and judging by their photos together, they are completely happy. SuperMario will go to the World Cup as one of the main goalscorers of the Italian team, I hope he will score a lot of goals with such a girl.

Victoria Lopyreva – Fedor Smolov (Russia)

Finally we got to ours. While the Internet is full of jokes and jokes about the performance of our striker, Victoria tirelessly supports her husband everywhere and in everything, assures that he is an outstanding football player and will show everyone everything at the World Cup. I don’t know about Fedor, but Victoria also loves to show, and when it coincides with the fact that there really is something to show, it’s just wonderful.

Sylvie Van der Vaart - Raphael Van der Vaart (Holland)

A model, actress and presenter are the standard package for a beautiful and smart girl, but after marrying a national team player, her career simply took off. Programs, show projects and titles began to fall on her like from a cornucopia, and worldwide fame also came - the girl was honored to become the prototype of the Barbie doll.

9.Iolanthe Cabau and Wesley Sneijder – (Holland)

We continue our run through the players of the national team, whose victory over them at the European Championships will be remembered by our team for a long time. Next on the list is the soap opera actress and second wife of Holland playmaker Wesley Sneijder. The explosive and aggressive player, in his own words, found his happiness and calmed down next to this girl.

Maria Eshchenko – Andrey Eshchenko (Russia)

We’ll finish the selection with the wife of a talented Russian player who made it to the national team and will fly to Brazil to help us achieve a good result. Let's wish Andrey that he will show the same beautiful, exciting and hot game as his wife.

Yeshchenko's transfer to Anzhi

In the spring of the same year, it became known that Andrei would become a player for Anzhi Makhachkala. The transition did not happen without a loud scandal. The fact is that by the time of his transfer to Anzhi, Andrey was the leading player of Lokomotiv. As was written in the press, the club received only one million euros for his transfer. The amount is extremely small for such a “deal,” but another amount was not announced by President Olga Smorodskaya. This deal is signed for three years.

Andrey managed to almost immediately join the star team of the Anzhi team, taking the position of right midfielder. At the same time, the football player took part in all qualifying matches as part of the Russian national team.

It is known that in March 2013 the player received a serious injury, due to which he was out of the game for a long time. The football player had to treat a ruptured cruciate ligament in his knee for about six months. Having recovered, Andrei returned and attended the match with Tottenham. This was in October 2013. The footballer entered the field in the fifty-sixth minute, replacing Serder Serderov.

Due to injury, Andrei did not take part in the national team’s qualifying matches. Having returned from injury, he again received a call to the national team. In November 2013, Eshchenko entered the field in a friendly match with the Serbian national team in the second half, replacing Alexei Kozlov.

Stages of the football journey

The Irkutsk football graduate’s professional playing career began in 2003 as part of the local Zvezda team, a club in the Russian second division. Over two seasons, Andrei Yeshchenko played 47 matches, in which he scored 3 goals. At a youth tournament held in the city of Saransk, the young player was noticed by scouts of the Khimki club near Moscow, a team in the first division of the Russian championship.

In the Moscow region club, Andrei Eshchenko is a football player of the main team. He played 34 matches, scored 3 goals, took part in the final match of the Russian Cup against the CSKA team, and made his debut in the Russian youth team. But Khimki themselves, having taken only fourth place in the championship, did not make it into the Russian Premier League. The club's coaching staff resigned, and Andrei Eshchenko, in the spring of 2006, signed a five-year contract with the Dynamo Kyiv team.

In his first season, as a member of the Kyiv club, he won silver medals in the Ukrainian Championship and the National Cup.

And yet the player’s career in Kyiv did not work out. Unable to compete with Andrei Nesmachny in the left-back position, he was loaned to Dynamo Moscow for six months as a loaned player. Andrei Eshchenko played his debut match in the Russian Premier League on August 4, 2006 against Torpedo. Having played 9 matches of the Russian championship, he returned to Kyiv, where he played out the rest of the championship as part of the first-league team Dynamo-2.

With the start of the 2007 Ukrainian Championship, he moved, as a loaned football player, to the Dnepr club. As part of the Dnepropetrovsk team, Andrei Eshchenko played 20 championship matches and took part in two qualifying matches for the UEFA Cup.

He spends the next two football seasons as part of the Kyiv club Arsenal.

The three seasons spent at Arsenal (67 matches, 1 goal) become the best in the footballer’s career. He is an indispensable team player, showing all his best qualities: reliability, tenacity, endurance, ability to fight in any part of the field. Thus, having signed a contract with Dynamo Kyiv, Andrei Eshchenko played his best matches in other Ukrainian teams (Dnepr and Arsenal).

At the beginning of 2012, after spending half a season with Volga Nizhny Novgorod (12 matches), Andrei Eshchenko moved to the Moscow club Lokomotiv. The season spent in the team can be considered quite successful. He played 24 games in the championship, played his first matches as part of the Russian national team, and took part in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (2 games).

In the spring of 2013, Andrei Eshchenko signed a three-year contract with the Anzhi team. But a serious injury (ruptured cruciate knee ligaments) interfered with the footballer’s future career. Having played 33 matches for the Nizhny Novgorod club, the player went on loan to the Kuban team on June 1, 2014. In the 2014-2015 season, the footballer played 21 matches for the team from Krasnodar.

Recently, fate presented the football player with another surprise. A terrible accident occurred in Krasnodar, in which Andrei Eshchenko was directly involved. The accident occurred in the city center. The Nissan sports car driven by Yeshchenko crashed at a speed of more than 170 km/h into a concrete support, turning into a pile of scrap metal. The football player himself did not seem to be injured.

Personal life of Andrey Eshchenko

Yeshchenko gets tattoos related in some way to each of the teams he played for. His first tattoo appeared in Kyiv. Now there are eight stars on Andrey’s right bicep, which symbolizes eight teams. The last star appeared after moving to Anzhi. The football player is thinking about making himself another, but the biggest star, signifying the Russian national team.

Football player Andrei Eshchenko with his wife Maria

Andrey is married. His wife's name is Maria. The young people met for a long time. The wedding took place in 2006. In 2013, they had a daughter, the girl was named Alice.

The player loves games, attacks, and fighting. But training camp and vacation time are of little interest and boring to him. He always tries to spend less time lying on the couch at this time, trying to keep himself busy with something.
