Biography of Igor Gennadievich Kuznetsov

The future athlete was born and raised in Kazakhstan. Born in mid-October 1955, the man celebrated his 63rd birthday this year. Kuznetsov’s father is a professional coach, he was recruiting for the Burevestnik hockey team, which played for Alma-Ata. Igor made his debut in this club until he moved to Karaganda at the age of 19. There he signed a contract with Avtomobilist and played for less than two seasons.

In the same year, the young man was drafted into the army, and served in Novosibirsk. There he played for some time for the local team SKA. Returning to his homeland, he decided to play for Torpedo (Ust-Kamenogorsk). He played as the main striker and scored an incredible number of goals during the season. With his agility and mobility he attracted the attention of not only the management, but also the fans.

Since 1979, he began to go on the ice with the captain's armband. Until 1986, the entire team looked up to Igor. The young man was “matched up” to CSKA Moscow, but love and affection for his native team overpowered the desire to move to the capital of the Soviet Union.

Moving abroad

The talent of an experienced hockey player could not help but be noticed outside of his homeland. In 1989, Igor left his native Torpedo and signed a contract with the provincial Finnish team KhPK. The club's management hoped that the talented striker would be able to take their team to a more or less serious level in the tournament table. And it was right. For the first time in the history of the club, the team was able to achieve high awards - bronze at the local championship.

In 1991, Igor tried his hand at the German team. Here at the Ratingen club the striker’s career will end. Two years later, in 1993, after the team entered the major league, the man received a serious injury - he broke his leg. As a result, he was forced to say goodbye to both Germany and his sports career. During the same period, Igor Kuznetsov returned to his homeland in Kazakhstan and began to think about his future activities. I didn’t want to follow in my father’s footsteps into coaching. But a brilliant idea came to my mind - to start a business.

Immediately upon his arrival in his homeland, Igor Kuznetsov began to look for sites to open his own boutiques with fashionable clothes and shoes. The business gradually developed, gaining impressive momentum. Until now, the activity, organized almost immediately after the collapse of the Soviet Union, is afloat. Katya Lel: “God sent me salvation in the person of Igor”

Around the end of spring, a new addition to the singer’s family is expected. Who is born, a boy or a girl, does not matter much to Katya Lel. Lel perceives the very fact that she will have a child as happiness bestowed after a series of difficult trials. Katya shared in a conversation with the Daily Show why she hid her interesting position and what is going on in her life now.

- Katya, because of your secrecy, rumors even spread that you were expecting twins!

- (Laughs) What are you talking about! It was probably my huge belly that inspired such thoughts. It seems to me that it is unrealistically huge. However, we will have one child for now, and ideally Igor and I want two. And I am sure that we will certainly have a boy and a girl.

—Have you already thought of a name?

- It's a secret! I take these things very seriously because I believe that a person's name determines a person's destiny. They also say that when a mother looks at her baby for the first time, a name for him will come down from above. I don't know, maybe this will happen to me. In any case, I want to give the child some unusual, beautiful and... happy name!

- Why did you so stubbornly hide the fact of your pregnancy?

— While I managed, I hid it, and it’s easy to explain. The fact is that you cannot shout about happiness or share it with strangers, otherwise you can scare it away. And a child is a great happiness for me. Over the last period there has been so much negativity in my life that the meeting with Igor (businessman Igor Kuznetsov, husband of the singer - M.F.) and subsequent pregnancy is perceived by me as a gift of fate. Therefore, I try to protect what is dear to me. There are so many ill-wishers around. So, as they say, God protects the best!

— You and Igor have known each other for more than three years. Why did they delay the wedding for so long?

- This is how the circumstances developed. Actually, Igor proposed to me a couple of weeks after we met in 2005. But I was immersed in legal proceedings, and the time was not right for a wedding, as you understand. As soon as I put an end to my relationship with the former producer, it became possible to move on with my personal life.

— Despite the fact that you arranged the wedding in secret, journalists on the same day gave not the most flattering headlines: like, Lel got married on the twenty-sixth day after the death of the producer!

- It was disgusting! If only they had bothered to count correctly - it was exactly the fortieth day. But what does it matter? Was I supposed to mourn Volkov and give up personal plans altogether? That’s why I didn’t want to advertise the wedding – I didn’t want such dirt. But Igor reassured me - don’t be upset, he says, now you have a different life.

— If I’m not mistaken, did you experience love at first sight?

— Now, after the passage of time, I can firmly say yes. We met at Volodya Presnyakov’s concert in Ukraine. Igor was the first to notice me. Even at that moment I thought, what an impudent person - he’s glaring at me! And then Igor became completely insolent. He turned to me with a question: “Katya, do you have marmalade?” I honestly answered that no and couldn’t help but smile, since I liked his impudent question.

As a result, we chatted until the morning and have not parted since then. But I wasn’t going to go to the concert that day, because I was tired, but my sister persuaded me. Imagine, one second, and fate would have turned out differently!

- It turns out that your future husband conquered you with his impudence?

- Well, it seems to me that a real man should be a little cocky. The main thing is that behind this insolence there is no narcissism and bragging. This is not the case in Igor. On the contrary, he did nothing to please me. He just behaved naturally, and that won me over. We met at the moment when my litigation with Volkov was in full swing, it was incredibly difficult for me. And apparently, God sent me salvation in the person of Igor.

— How did your family react to Igor?

“At first, my mother was wary of him, although my sister and I were buzzing her ears off!” (Laughs) But when they got to know each other better, she realized that her daughter was in good hands and there was nothing to fear. Mom wants my marriage to be as happy as hers with my father. Father simply idolized mother, blew away specks of dust from her, and they lived happily for more than thirty years. One can only dream of such relationships.

— Has marriage and expecting a child changed you a lot?

- Certainly! I have become a calmer person. I try not to stress over little things and enjoy every minute of happiness. Expecting a child has brought my husband and I even closer. Igor is very proud that he will soon become a father, although he says that he will believe it only when he takes the child in his arms! (Smiles) Mom can’t wait to see this surprise either. In general, we are all now in pleasant anticipation.

— Katya, have you changed the rhythm of your life due to pregnancy?

- No. I can't sit at home and read books about newborns and the psychology of fatherhood and motherhood. That is, I, of course, read them to be prepared, but that’s not enough for me. My body requires certain loads. Therefore, I moderately exert myself in the gym, go to the pool, and go on tour. I think I won’t be on maternity leave for long either.

Feelings of love, peace and optimism push me towards an active lifestyle. And my songs now are exclusively positive, there is no hopelessness in them. I dedicated my last album to Igor. I am actually very grateful to fate for this chance - to finally be happy. Milena Florinskaya
