What do we know about Bill Skarsgård: 12 facts about the scariest clown of our time

Actor biography

Bill Skarsgård is a world-famous actor who is a representative of a whole dynasty of artists. From birth, he was destined to win the hearts of audiences on the theater stage and in big cinema. Thanks to his acting skills received from his father and brothers, he began to be accepted into major international projects. The young man’s name increasingly began to appear in the credits of Hollywood projects.

it's a clown

His smile is called demonic; it simultaneously attracts and repels. It was she who helped Bill recreate the image of the killer clown in the film “It”.

Every image that our hero inhabits is filled with life and frantic energy, which is transmitted to the viewer through the screens of televisions and cinemas. Let's try to find out how a man who dreamed of becoming a scientist as a child took a sharp turn and began to win the hearts of millions of fans around the world.

Our hero was born in 1990 on August 9, and is currently 28 years old. The boy was born in the small town of Vällingby near the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. Bill was brought up in a creative atmosphere, because his father Stellan Skarsgård is a great renowned actor in his homeland and around the world. He is a multiple winner of the Berlin Film Festival, he has a huge number of films behind him, among which the most memorable are “The Avengers”, “Thor”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Borg - McEnroe”.

Nowadays, almost no major premiere is released without his participation. Bill's mother, Mu Gunther, worked as a medical worker at a local clinic.

The family had six children, five of them boys and one daughter Eya, and three of our hero’s brothers also decided to connect their fate with acting - Alexander, Gustaf and Walter. My sister chose a simple earthly specialty.

The family marriage was strong and lasted a long time, but in 2007 the relationship between the parents began to collapse and they divorced. Bill's father found a new lover and married Megan Everett for the second time. Soon he and his wife had two more children.

An interesting fact is that there is no longer a single family with the surname Skarsgård in Sweden. It was invented by the grandfather of our young hero. In the mid-twentieth century, the country was full of identical surnames; as a result, the state government invited citizens to independently come up with family names at their own discretion. This is how the famous acting dynasty appeared.

As a child, Bill began to realize that he would follow the acting path like his father and older brothers. He loved watching films, often parodied popular artists and repeated skits to the delight of his parents. But while in high school, his interest in cinema began to fade, and a new dream of becoming a scientist was born in his heart. The guy changed his mind in time, after filming the adventure film “Arn - United Kingdom”.

The boy's childhood was spent constantly traveling, because Bill's dad took part in filming on different continents of the world and always took his sons with him to introduce him to creativity. When the guy was 12 years old, he lived for several months in Cambodia and then moved to Mexico. As a result, the travels left an irreversible mark on the heart of our hero; he began to appreciate nature and foreign culture.

All this was very educational for the young man. Often his father took him to creative and formal evenings, where he learned to be courteous and communicate with the creative elite. Thus, the future international star grew stronger and developed. At one point, he was even going to give up his creative craft, because at that time there were already four Skarsgårds in Sweden. Now he is trying to act more in foreign projects to glorify his name.

Alexander Skarsgård considers himself lucky

Alexander Skarsgård is packed with new projects from top to bottom. After the triumph of Big Little Lies at the Golden Globes, he has been working tirelessly. When will he start thinking about organizing his own life? In this interview with the Guardian, he touched on this topic. And, of course, the themes of the vampire saga “True Blood”.

In the TV series “True Blood,” Skarsgård plays Eric, a bar owner and “sheriff.” But he did not immediately decide to play such a character.

“When I got the call, I thought, 'Give seven years to do this?' I never thought I’d dare to do this.”

When the series ended, he was cast in the role of Tarzan, where his fiancée was played by Margot Robbie. And finally, the series "Big Little Lies". At the moment, he has so many projects that he has become homeless, living in one hotel after another - between Hamburg and Paris, where the wartime film The Aftermath is being filmed - his partner is Keira Knightley.

“I'm not married and I don't have children, and I'm enjoying this moment. There is something Buddhist about my condition - I have only one suitcase and what is not included in it, I left behind. Then I decided to buy a pair of sneakers, but realized that they wouldn’t fit into my suitcase. I asked myself how much I needed them, since then I would have to throw away another pair. So in terms of consumption, you have to think carefully. So you'll see me in the same T-shirt and jeans for the next six months."

The main topic on Alexander’s schedule was the film “Mute” by Duncan Jones (world premiere on February 23, we don’t know yet). Duncan Jones is the son of David Bowie. He has behind him the film adaptation of “Warcraft” and “Moon 2112” with Sam Rockwell. The director calls the film “Mute” a companion to “Moon 2112.”

Set in 2052, the film tells the story of a mute bartender, Leo (Alexander Skarsgård), whose wife (Seineb Saleh) inexplicably goes missing. Her search leads Leo to an underground city inhabited by bandits and a pair of field surgeons (Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux). Leo does not immediately understand where he ended up and who he should fear the most.

“This is a very expensive movie, Berlin 2052 has been created, a huge world. Today it is difficult to make a movie that is dramatic, with a good story, for a lot of money. If a studio pays big money, it wants big action. Netflix produces many different projects at once, and therefore it is not necessary to please everyone. There are chances to make such a movie.”

Alksander Skarsgård's father, Stellan Skarsgård, is known for his roles in Lars von Trier's films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mamma Mia! Their family has eight children - seven boys and one girl. Alexander is the eldest. The youngest is only five. Brothers Gustaf, Bill and Walter work in film and television.

“I try to come to Sweden whenever I can. I love her. This is the best place. We have complete chaos there, but it’s great - dogs, cats, children, friends, girlfriends. It's like a commune. Everyone practically lives together. My parents are divorced, but they live close to each other and are still best friends. My mother's brother is my father's childhood friend. And they live in the same house. This is all very different from the lifestyle that I encounter when I go on set. Yes, eventually, when it comes time to have children, I want to have nine. I want to beat my father."

Skarsgård is credited with having affairs with co-stars and glamorous women. One of Alexander's latest hobbies is Alexa Chung. After two years of dating, they broke up last summer.

“I don't talk about it much. I want to protect this. When I was a child, my father did the same. I won’t say that this somehow enlightened him, because he is completely crazy. But the fact remains that this is how he defended my mother, who is not an actress or a public person.”

The series “Big Little Lies” brought the actor a Golden Globe. In this series, he played a real monster, Perry, who abused his wife (Nicole Kidman). Receiving the award, he said the following speech: “This is the best experience of my career. Nicole is a real actress. Yes, she's fucking incredible. It was a real pleasure to work with her." Big Little Lies returns for a second season and so does Skarsgård's character (which is very strange!).

The actor does not allow himself to relax on the wave of success.

“I'm terribly lucky. I have friends who are much more talented actors than me, but they are out of work. Hollywood is kind of stupid. It's like playing with marbles on the playground. People are worried: “Which director is in great demand now? What actor is in demand? The same thing in the yard. When a cool kid says, “We have to get this balloon,” everyone immediately wants that balloon.”

At the end of the interview, Alexander Skarsgård stands up to his full impressive height (194 cm), making the room look like a dollhouse. He smiles timidly:

“Here today, leaving tomorrow. I don't want to think that it will be like this forever. Maybe I should go back to architecture and become an architect. Live in one place and don’t run around the world. Buy furniture and hang a picture on the wall. I definitely don’t take this seriously.”

Bill Skarsgard and his girlfriend

After the youth mystical series “Hemlock Grove” and a horror film based on the work “It” by Stephen King were released, the media and journalists began to take an interest in the young and talented actor. Everyone wanted to know who was hiding behind the clown mask of a cold-blooded killer of children, under the smile of the clown Pennywise. Bill Skarsgård tries not to advertise his personal life and separates it from the set and work, but it’s difficult to hide interesting facts from prying eyes.

In 2011, our hero was often seen together with a girl named Clara Girrell and Alexis Knapp; they were considered to have an affair, but such rumors did not receive official confirmation.

Since 2020, Bill began dating an actress from Sweden named Alida Morberg. For the first time they began to be seen together on walks in the park, where they held hands. Subsequently, the actor himself admitted that he has a close relationship with his beloved.

Together they attended the premiere screening of the third part of the popular dystopia “Divergent. Behind the Wall,” where Skarsgård played a worker from the genetic welfare office and a close friend of the main character. According to colleagues from the set, Alida often visited him while working, and during breaks they spent time together alone. The girl is five years older than Bill, she comes from Stockholm and is known for such films as “Sensitivity” and “The Mentally Ill.” Currently, they continue to date, but a wedding is not in their plans.

Among the young man’s hobbies is traveling; he is constantly on the road. As he jokes, he has no permanent residence.

At first, he lives with a girl, then he rushes to film in another country, and so on without stopping. This pace of life does not put Bill off at all; he has gotten used to it from an early age. In addition, the artist plays the acoustic guitar beautifully and has a great sense of humor.

Movies

Stellan Skarsgard began his career in the world of cinema as an actor in serial films. At first, minor roles were given, episodic or supporting roles. Compatriots began to recognize him on the streets after working in the youth series “Bomby Bitt and I,” and the young man was invited to a full-length film in 1968 - he appeared in the film “This Year.”

Soon they were entrusted with playing the main character: Stellan portrayed the student Eric, who helps the young nymphomaniac Anita (Christina Lindberg) understand the psychological problems in the drama “Anita: The Diary of a Teenage Girl.”

He also received the first prize for success in cinema in his homeland. Critics awarded Skarsgard's performance in the film Simple Murder (1981) with the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Stellan brilliantly conveyed the character of a simple-minded boy named Sven, who escaped from slavery.

By the end of the 80s, the actor was already basking in the rays of fame in Sweden, but he was almost unknown outside his native country. But fate gave him a chance to become a world-famous star. The path to Hollywood began with the popular film “The Unbearable Lightness of Being,” directed by Philip Kaufman based on the novel by Milan Kundera.

However, the role of engineer did not bring popularity to Stellan Skarsgård. The next character, the commander of a Soviet submarine in “The Hunt for Red October,” also did not stick in the audience’s memory. Here I had a chance to meet Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin on the set.

Stellan Skarsgård in the movie Breaking the Waves

His finest hour came only in 1996, when Lars von Trier gave the actor the leading role in the melodrama “Breaking the Waves.” Stellan's partner was Emily Watson. After this picture, the Swede received really interesting offers from the authors of big cinema.

Von Trier appreciated his talent; Skarsgård played for this director in a number of other works. The filmography was adorned with the film “Dancing in the Dark” (2000), in which singer Björk also shone. He appeared in the thriller Dogville (2003) alongside Nicole Kidman and Chloë Sevigny.

Stellan Skarsgard in the movie "Nymphomaniac"

In the fantasy drama “Melancholia” (2011), Kirsten Dunst and eldest son Alexander Skarsgard acted as colleagues. And in 2013, Lars von Trier invited Stellan to be part of the cast of the erotic film “Nymphomaniac,” which was warmly received by the world film community.

The working relationship developed into a strong friendship with director Hans Petter Moland. The Norwegian also willingly filmed Skarsgård. With his participation, the films “Aberdeen”, “A Pretty Good Man”, “A Simple Fool” were released. In an interview, the actor jokes:

“We’re like an old married couple – I get worried when we’re apart for a long time.”

Fans of the bright fantasy “Pirates of the Caribbean” also know Stellan Skarsgård well. In two episodes of the adventure comedy series, the Swede reincarnated as Bootstrap Bill Turner, a pirate, the living dead, and the father of one of the main characters, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom).

The artist especially liked his work in the sensational saga about pirate adventures. He noted that it was nice and great to work in the company with Johnny Depp.

The detective thriller “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara added to the fame. Here Stellan appeared in the guise of the general director of a large concern, Martin Vanger.

Film fans were delighted with the musical “Mamma Mia!”, which premiered in 2008. The man not only brilliantly impersonated the sailor Bill Anderson, Stellan also sang the famous songs of the legendary ABBA ensemble. And a year later he got into the sequel of the film “The Da Vinci Code” “Angels and Demons”, where he played Commander Richter.

In the second decade of the new century, the actor continued to actively act, and exclusively in films that were complex and bright, leaving a mark on the audience’s hearts and winning awards at film festivals.

He also shone in fashionable superhero action films based on comics from the Marvel universe. Stellan Skarsgård, in the image of astrophysicist Erik Selvig, went through a series of films - “Thor”, “The Avengers”, “Thor 2: The Dark World”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

Stellan Skarsgard in the series River

In 2020, the actor was invited by the directors of the series “River” to lead the cast. Police officer John River, played by Stellan, has an unusual gift - he sees the souls of the dead whose cases he is investigating.

Skarsgård brothers

As we noted earlier, our hero has many brothers and almost all of them decided to connect their lives with acting. So, let's go by seniority:

  1. Alexander. The eldest son of the famous actor, he is 14 years older than Bill. Born August 25, 1976. He began acting at an early age, but gained popularity around the world for his leading role in the mystical series True Blood. In 2020, the box-office project “Tarzan” was released, where the incomparable Margot Robie became his partner on the set. Now he is a popular and sought-after actor in Hollywood and in his homeland.
  2. Gustaf. He is exactly ten years older than our hero. Born November 12, 1980. Unlike his older brother, he takes part mainly in serials and television films. In 2003, he received the prestigious Golden Bug Award for his role in the film Evil, where he played a strong and confident young man. In 2012, he starred in the film “Kon Tiki,” which was nominated for an Oscar as best foreign film. The guy gained worldwide fame for his role in the TV series “Vikings,” where he perfectly brought to life the complex hero Floki. The multi-part project received the highest ratings from viewers and film critics.
  3. Walter. The youngest of all Stellan Skarsgård's sons. Born in 1995. So far, he has not had time to appear in major projects, but there is still more to come.

The brothers have a warm relationship; they often spend evenings together and compete, starting to list their new roles.

Biography: Bill Skarsgård, who is his father

Popular film actor Bill Skarsgård was born on August 9, 1990 in the capital of Sweden. His father is famous film actor Stellan Skarsgård, and his mother is Dr. Mu Gunther. The child grew up in a large family; his brothers Sam, Gustav and Alexander became actors, like their father. Only one of the brothers followed his mother’s path and became a doctor. Bill has half-brothers from his father's remarriage, they are younger than him, and a sister, who is currently the manager of a nightclub. Bill Skarsgard grew up in a creative environment of artists and artists.

Often family dinners were fun, noisy, with discussions of films and plays. Bill was raised without restrictions, giving him the opportunity to make his own decisions from an early age. From an early age, his family began to notice that the boy was able to do a good job of parodying cartoon characters and some moments from films. At the age of 7, Bill Skarsgård could already come up with a small skit himself, which he always showed to his mom and dad.

Since Stellan Skarsgård constantly traveled to filming in different cities and countries, he took his children with him, including Bill. The boy literally grew up traveling.

During his childhood, he saw and appreciated the cultures of many different peoples and various situations, which were somewhat different from what Bill observed in Stockholm. This allowed the future actor to take care of nature and develop neatness and organization.

Bill's films and TV series

The young man first appeared on camera when he was 9 years old. Bill, along with his older brother Alexander, starred in the Swedish thriller. This work did not bring the boy world fame, because he received an insignificant scene, and all this was filmed by a little-known director. After this, our hero received roles in several short films, where he received supporting characters. During this period of his life, he devoted his energy to studying at school and even planned to give up his acting career. But in 2008, he was offered, again in the company of his brother and father, to star in the action adventure film “Arn - United Kingdom.” It was this picture that kindled an interest in filming in his heart.

A year later, he gets one of the main roles in the comedy project “Cosmoluser”. The story tells the viewer about the adventures of a loser guy and how he tries to improve. After a couple of years, he gets a more complex and promising project. Bill is starring in the film “There are no feelings in space.” In the story, he plays Simon, a guy suffering from Asperger's syndrome, who is surrounded by complete perfectionism, but his brother breaks up with his girlfriend, after which complete discord occurs in Simon's life.

In 2010, he enters the role of a young man who runs away from his alcoholic father to change his life forever. The film is called "Beyond Blue Skies."

After that, the guy received offers in various projects. He can be seen in the films “The Royal Jewels”, “Simon and the Oaks”.

In 2012, he took part in an international project based on the great work of Leo Tolstoy “Anna Karenina”. Here he got a minor character, but managed to work with world Hollywood stars - Keira Knightley and Jude Law. A year later, he is cast in the lead role in the promising TV series Hemlock Grove. The story tells us about a small town where mysterious murders begin to occur, a dead girl with deep bite marks is found. Bill Skarsgård's character is trying to find the truth.

The multi-part project received three full seasons, but filming is currently suspended. The audience was delighted with the portion of mysticism and horror, and critics gave it positive marks. After that, people began to talk about the young actor outside his native country, and he began to be recognized all over the world.

In 2020, a new chapter of the popular dystopia “Divergent 3. Beyond the Wall” will be released. Here he plays a good friend of the main character of the epic. The film was a huge success, and Bill was already approved for filming in the continuation of the story. From that moment on, he received offers to star in Hollywood projects. His next films were “Atomic Blonde”, “Battle Creek”, “Assassination Nation” and a multi-part film based on Stephen King’s novels “Castle Rock”. Don't forget his cameo role in the acclaimed action movie Deadpool 2.

Debut and success

The boy appeared in a movie for the first time at the age of 10. The thriller was filmed in 2000, Bill got a small role, but one of the main roles was played by the actor’s brother Alexander. A few years later, Bill Skarsgård seriously thought about scientific activity, but subsequently changed his mind. This happened after filming the adventure movie “Arn: United Kingdom”. The brothers Stellan and Gustav were involved in the same film. Soon Bill was invited to a television project to participate in the Swedish Television Series.

The first real success took place 10 years after the role was first played. It was the film “There are No Feelings in Space,” directed by Andreas Jöhmann, in which Bill played the role of Simon. For his work, young actor Bill Skarsgård was nominated for a national Golden Bug award.

Pennywise the Clown Smile

In 2020, the world premiere of the remake of the horror film It, based on the novel by Stephen King, took place on cinema screens. History will again tell us about the atrocities of the killer clown Pennywise. Thanks to Bill's efforts, his character turned out to be as intimidating and frightening as possible. The actor was approved for the role after the first audition, and he didn’t even have to put on a clown costume.

What gives the monster a special effect is his smile, which Bill Skarsgård gave us. In one interview, he admitted that even in his childhood he learned to smile ominously with a protruding lip from his older brother. In addition, his eye disease played a special role during filming. His pupils are directed in different directions, this only happens in tense moments. This property of Bill allowed the director to significantly save on computer graphics. The actor looked ominous even without makeup.

Even during the casting, the director immediately noticed a combination of such factors - a smile and a sidelong glance. The only problem was Bill's height - 192 centimeters, but this did not become a hindrance. As a result, the film turned out to be very scary and is waiting for a sequel, which will be released very soon. And we will again be able to enjoy the performance of young talent.

Stellan Skarsgård: I finally managed to torture Daniel Craig!

This interview began in the rhythm of improvisation in the Concorde Hotel in Berlin: Stellan and I lived on the same floor and one day had to wait a long time for the elevator that was supposed to take us to the party after the Euro-Oscars. It continued at London's Dochester Hotel immediately after the premiere of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the long-awaited film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's bestseller, in which Skarsgård, the only Swedish actor, played one of the most important roles. We won’t specify which one, it’s still a detective story.

“My wife doesn’t believe me!”

— When presenting the Euro-Oscar to the Dane Mads Mikkelsen, who played the villain in Casino Royale, you mentioned that he had the chance to torture Daniel Craig much earlier than you. You yourself were entrusted with torturing Craig only now - in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

- Yes, this is how it happens in life: I became an internationally famous actor earlier than Mads, and I got the opportunity to make fun of Daniel 6 years later than he did!

-Who else would you like to torture?

- Well, maybe some politicians. But I’m not a psychopath myself, I just play them from time to time. This is very interesting for the actor: maniacs sometimes hide their essence so well that even a psychotherapist cannot figure them out - many of them seem to be very nice and pleasant people. I never portray them as monsters, always as ordinary people, like your neighbor or friend, and let the audience figure it out for themselves. Everything is always mixed up in people, I don’t believe in good or bad guys. The line between psychopaths and normal people is very thin. We are all capable of doing the most terrible things. The fact of the matter is that during the Second World War, horrors in Europe were wreaked not by some nation of monsters, but by ordinary people! While playing my character, I remembered George W. Bush. He's such a nice guy who might be fun to drink with at a bar. However, he killed more people than any movie maniac!

I decided to play my character in “The Girl...” as a very, very positive guy also because his house looked somehow very revealing. Like a sex ring where 15-year-old girls are brought in to inject them with cocaine and take advantage of their vulnerability. The guy who rented this creepy place to us was overly tanned and had a gold chain that was too thick on his overly exposed chest. In order not to set myself up, I had to play this role really well! But this is not the first time David Fincher has made films about maniacs, and he shared his knowledge in this area.

In The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Skarsgård's partner was Daniel Craig himself (left).

- In my opinion, you get more pleasure from playing the roles of bad guys than from playing good guys - such as in the musical “Mamma Mia!”

— Yes, in this film my character was really not that interesting. But what a great time I had on set! For a week I did nothing but sail on a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea! My wife had never visited me on set until then; I never allowed her to do so. Like, I can’t be distracted, I have to be focused on work! And so she shows up for the shoot and sees Pierce Brosnan and I lying on a white sand beach, and twenty young half-naked dancers dancing around us! Since then, she doesn’t believe me and won’t let me go to the shoot alone!

“I’m going to star in a film for adults”

— What is it like to host Hollywood at home?

- This is not bad at all for the sake of variety! I still can’t go to them! Let them work in Sweden too. I still live in Stockholm, and sleeping in my own bed during filming was very nice. True, in Sweden we only did location shooting; the interiors were shot in Los Angeles.

—Have you corrected the mistakes of the Americans?

- No, I just laughed at them. Basically they all asked me how to pronounce this or that Swedish name correctly. However, in most cases everyone showed themselves to be great professionals. Even the chef managed to fry impeccable elk steaks.

“Besides, you probably didn’t have to disguise your Swedish accent.”

- On the contrary, David Fincher asked all the actors to speak with the same accent as mine! Only Christopher Plummer imitated the pronunciation of Max von Sydow (the famous Swedish artist who became famous in the films of Ingmar Bergman - S.T.) ...

— Weren’t you offered to act in the first, Swedish film adaptation?

- They offered me, but either the role or the script didn’t inspire me too much, or there wasn’t time - in short, I didn’t act in that film. But I agreed to work for Fincher even before the script was finished: I really wanted it! To tell the truth, it was not Stieg Larsson who inspired me, but David Fincher. I think there is no point in comparing the Swedish film with its version. If the continuation of the trilogy is directed by another director, it will be a completely different film.

— In my opinion, you are the only European actor who is invited in Hollywood to play “native speakers” - the British and Americans. Everyone else is only trusted to play the role of their compatriots because of their accent.

- But I also have an accent, I constantly struggle with it with the help of speech technique teachers. I worked with them, filming both Good Will Hunting and Mamma Mia! Here is my son Alexander (he is also becoming a big star before our eyes: he played the husband of Kirsten Dunst’s heroine in Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia” - S.T.) plays on equal terms with the Americans - he has no accent at all!

On the set of the musical "Mamma Mia!" the Swedish artist (center) had to constantly sing and dance.

— Paul Bettany told how you dragged him to film Dogville, promising that filming with Trier would be paradise.

- Yes, I tricked him! Because I really wanted him to not only star in this amazing role, but also just be there. Paul is my best friend! I have no friends closer than him. (Bettany probably shares Skarsgard's affection, otherwise he and wife Jennifer Connelly would hardly have named their son by the Swedish name Stellan. - S.T.)

— Are you going to star in Trier’s new film “Nymphomaniac,” which, according to him, will be hardcore porn?

- Of course, otherwise what? He calls me one day: “I’m going to make a porn film, I want you to play the main role in it!” “Of course, Lars!” - “But you won’t have sex in it!” Here's a conversation with Trier.

- Do you agree to everything he asks?

- Of course not! If something is not for me, I say so directly. He has his ideas, I have mine. But I have no objection to its taste. And I love filming with Trier, we always have so much fun when we work together!

Who is Bill like?

Many of Bill's fans note his striking resemblance to another popular actor named Steve Buscemi. If you attach photographs of two artists side by side, you get practically one person.

For this reason, many unaware people attribute family ties to them. In addition, our hero is compared to the domestic actor Pavel Maykov from the TV series “Brigade”, as well as Macaulay Culkin from “Home Alone”, but none of them can bewitch with one look and a mystical smile.

Bill Skarsgård's personal life is rather vague and hidden from the eyes of the average viewer. Currently he lives with his beloved girlfriend; we know nothing about his future plans. As for cinema, the actor continues to give us new unique characters. Therefore, we are waiting for new films in his filmography!

Bill Skarsgård now

2017 was a productive year for the actor: he starred in the drama Battle Creek, and also appeared in the acclaimed thriller Atomic Blonde, where he worked with Charlize Theron, James McAvoy and John Goodman. Also, fans of Stephen King, and just fans of scary movies, are looking forward to the premiere of the film “It”, the release of which is scheduled for autumn 2017. Skarsgård will play a sinister clown who kidnaps young children.

Director Andres Muschietti also approached Mark Rylance and Ben Mendelsohn to play Pennywise. The same offer was made to Tim Curry, who played in the original film “It” (1990), but the actor refused. It is worth noting that Bill approached this role thoroughly: he spent a long time on the set, communicating with the filmmakers. The actor admitted that he wanted to pay tribute to Curry, who brilliantly played a terrible character.

Among other things, according to rumors, the actor will soon appear in several films and the TV series “Castle Rock” (2018).
