Sveta spent her childhood in the village of Gubino. Even today, the artist associates this time with fresh vegetables from the garden, food from the Russian oven and floral aroma. Svetlana Rozhkova lived in the village for four years. Then the parents moved to Kislovodsk, where the mother of the future artist got a job as an administrator of the Philharmonic.
In Kislovodsk, the girl went to school, where Svetlana spent her youth. Rozhkova still often comes to her hometown. The girl grew up as an active child; her parents could barely cope with their daughter. Rozhkova studied well, but her behavior was unsatisfactory.
Svetlana tried a lot: collected scrap metal, carried out Komsomol assignments, collected stamps, helped animals, went in for sports and dancing, and then enrolled in a theater studio. One day, the studio director asked why Svetlana wanted to become an actress, to which Rozhkova replied: “I have one life, but when I become an actress, I will live many of them.” For a minute, the director was speechless, because the student repeated the words of Sarah Bernhardt.

So, at the age of 17, Svetlana Rozhkova had already decided on her profession. The girl, secretly from her parents, applied to the theater school, but failed the exams. Then the girl got a job as a concert host at the Kislovodsk Philharmonic, and after 6 months Svetlana was sent to a pop art workshop in Leningrad. There the girl discovered the conversational genre. For two years, Rozhkova studied the secrets of mastery from teachers I.R. Shtokbandt, A.S. Shvedersky, O.I. Alshitsa.
After Leningrad, Svetlana Rozhkova went to work in the Republic of Tuva. The girl got a job as an artist at the Kyzyl Philharmonic. Endless tours with the Ayan ensemble began. In a short time, the young artist traveled to the Far East, Yakutia and other regions of the country. The team also visited the border with Mongolia on the territory of the border troops. Officers and soldiers often asked the artist to perform for an encore. One day, when all the numbers were shown, Rozhkova was asked to read the military regulations for guard duty. The improvisation had to be repeated twice - such was the success.

Leafing through the pages of Svetlana Rozhkova’s biography
Svetlana Rozhkova was born in Mozhaisk. And literally in the first days of her life, there were some oddities. Her parents: mother Elena Mikhailovna and father Anatoly Ivanovich Rozhkov gave the girl the beautiful name Svetlana. When the time came to take her from the maternity hospital, her mother’s stepfather, and for Sveta just grandfather Fyodor, got drunk to celebrate, and dashingly drove up to the entrance of the hospital on a sleigh. It was February, and the journey home to the village of Gubino lay ahead for a long time.
The mother and child sat comfortably in the sleigh, and grandfather Fyodor, continuing his joyful libation, rejoiced at the birth of his granddaughter and sang war songs on this occasion. When the sleigh finally entered the yard, grandmother Ulyana came out of the house and, not finding the child, loudly cried out: “Herods, where is my granddaughter?!” In the night, this deafening scream woke up half the village. And the child really disappeared without a trace.
The women began to wail, and the grandfather instantly sobered up and shouted at the crying women in a commanding voice: “Tsits, chickens, baby, apparently they were lost on the road! Right now, I’ll deliver it in a moment!” And he drove the sleigh back along the road. Two kilometers away, he found a baby envelope, and Svetlana was sleeping peacefully in it. And so began the life journey of a wonderful comedian.
Four years later, the Rozhkov family relocated to the Stavropol Territory, to the homeland of Svetlana’s father, Anatoly Ivanovich. Sveta Rozhkova spent her school years in Kislovodsk. The girl danced, loved pets, read books, became an active Komsomol member and became interested in theater.
“In secret from my mom and dad, I submitted my documents to a theater university, and without getting in, I returned home. An entertainer worked in Kislovodsk. This is how my creative biography began,” recalls Svetlana Anatolyevna. “After 6 months I’m already in Leningrad, studying at a pop art workshop.”
Humor and creativity
After college, Svetlana continued to work at the Kislovodsk Philharmonic, but no longer as a leader, but with a solo program. The program was called “Laughter Therapy Session.” The team often toured the country. During one concert tour, fate accidentally brought Rozhkova together with Regina Dubovitskaya. The meeting forever changed the creative biography of the conversational artist. Since 2001, Svetlana Anatolyevna has already performed in Full House.
The audience loved the comedian's sparkling performances. Svetlana Rozhkova appeared in the programs “Room of Laughter”, “Women Forward” and others. Viewers remember the monologue “Mother-in-Law” to this day. In 1996, Svetlana was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
Rozhkova's popularity is growing. The artist constantly collaborates with talented authors; Alexey Tsapik and Yuri Sofin write monologues for the artist. In addition to participating in humorous programs, Svetlana Anatolyevna tours with solo projects in Russia and abroad. Videos of Rozhkova’s performances posted on the YouTube video hosting channels – “Laughter prolongs life” and “The best. Humor. Jokes” are very popular.
Svetlana Rozhkova and Igor Mamenko
Together with her colleague Igor Mamenko, Svetlana Rozhkova created a creative duet. The artists became famous for their sketches “On Fishing”, “Doctor and Patient”, “Son”, “Don’t Grunt”, “Husband and Wife”.
Amazing Friday evening.
Svetlana Rozhkova in character.
On July 6, the concert of Honored Artist of Russia Svetlana Rozhkova was successfully held in Sovetsk.
Let me remind you that admirers of her work were very worried that, due to the incomplete hall, they would not be able to see their beloved “mother-in-law” of the whole country. However, despite everything, the performance took place. Appearing on stage in classic black shoes, green trousers and a blue blouse, Svetlana Anatolyevna immediately warned that there would be everything: acting stories, anecdotes, monologues and a surprise.
“I think I’ll earn back your applause and the money you spent!” - the Moscow star said ironically and began with anecdotes to the applause of those gathered.
“But I won’t talk about my mother-in-law!” - Rozhkova admitted. “I myself am the mother of two daughters, and therefore I will talk about the second mother... About the mother-in-law.”
For the next twenty minutes the audience laughed at stories about the mother-in-law. Then they were replaced by men with their places of mass recreation from their families.
“Where do our precious men like to hide?” — Svetlana asked the audience.
“In the garage, in the bathhouse, fishing!” - women's exclamations were heard from the audience, and the artist skillfully described each of the indicated places in a series of reprises and anecdotes with life stories. Then for a second
Mom passed the baton of humor to her singing daughter.
thought and said that she apologizes in advance for the following recipe for family happiness, which is known to many husbands and wives in our country and abroad. Come on, he says, I’ll tell you this as an anecdote... And away we go! True, I will retell the monologue in a slightly wave interpretation:
The son comes to his mother and says: “Mom, I need to talk to you seriously!”
Mom wiped her hands, put aside her chores in the kitchen and answered: “Come on, son. You are already an adult and I have been waiting for your question for a long time.”
“Mom,” says the son, “when I was little, you and dad sometimes quarreled strongly during the day, and then evening came, you went to bed and got up the next morning having made peace. And now you quarrel during the day, go to bed in the evening, and fight in the morning! What changed?"
“Misfortune has happened, son! - Mom answered. “The one who reconciled us has died!”
Rozhkova told all this with her characteristic artistry and irony, which, unfortunately, cannot be conveyed on paper. This needs to be seen live. However, like her entire performance. There was also a place in it for memories of tours, on which the funniest situations happened, and of walks with unexpected encounters. For example, Svetlana
Svetlana with her daughter Varvara.
I remembered how one autumn, in cold weather, she was walking down the street and saw a woman walking towards her. Despite the cold, she was wearing only a T-shirt. Svetlana only had time to be surprised by the lady’s strangeness when she caught up with her and read the inscription on the T-shirt “I’m a fool.” “Well, everything is quite clear then,” I thought,” Rozhkova said. “She already explained to everyone the reason for her behavior.” We missed the strange stranger, and when I turned around, I read on the back of the T-shirt “...And you too!”
It must be said that despite her obvious star status and the honorary title of Honored Artist of Russia, Svetlana Anatolyevna was very simple both on stage and in subsequent communication with your humble servant. She admitted that tours like today’s are not only a way for her to make a living, but also an opportunity to communicate with ordinary people like her.
Svetlana Rozhkova – Honored Artist of Russia : “I travel to small towns with a feeling of happiness and gratitude, because I am not a metropolitan resident. I have spent my entire adult life in such a city and I know perfectly well how and what people live here and what they breathe. In general, it was very difficult for me to move to the capital, for seven years. I went there to work, and then I just moved there forever. And someone like your viewer is closer to me, I feel him better, I understand him better. In the capital there are more “hunted horses”, but here there is a different rhythm, and I like it. When preparing for concerts, my repertoire does not change depending on the status of the city: it doesn’t matter the capital or a small town. I believe that if an artist begins the process of “taking care of himself,” then he should go and sell slippers. Therefore, I always work at 100 percent as long as my health allows me. The main thing is that the energy of the hall always returns. How much you give there, so much will come back like a boomerang. Therefore, live concerts prolong artists’ lives not only creatively, but also in general. And I’m no exception.”
When I talked with Svetlana Rozhkova, I immediately remembered that she experienced clinical death twice - once after a party with colleagues, her heart stopped, and another time she was hit by a car. But looking at this energetic and cheerful woman, one could not even think about such a thing. Well, except that the wrinkles around the eyes gave away a little of the experience. By the way, the surprise that Svetlana Anatolyevna promised the audience was the performance of her youngest daughter, 22-year-old Varvara. The girl is honing her singing skills and while studying at the State Music School of Vocal Pop and Jazz Art at the Gnessin Academy, she began touring with her mother. She dilutes her humorous numbers with jazz and pop songs in Russian and English. And, believe me, he does it masterfully! She ended her performance with this carefree song (no longer jazz):
Varvara Rozhkova (Vayura) – singer, daughter of Svetlana Rozhkova: “I took part in this concert with great joy. I don’t even remember who initiated this idea, but it’s for me
Oksana Mitina and Galina Tsygankova with Moscow guests.
Huge experience. Every time going on stage is stressful, and the first times my knees were just shaking, I didn’t see or hear anything! By coincidence, my first concerts were in the Kaliningrad region two and a half years ago. My mother and I were in Baltiysk, Chernyakhovsk and Kaliningrad itself.”
Varvara performs under the stage name Vayura. As mother and daughter admitted, this was done for a simple reason. The fact is that the singer Varvara has long been known to the people. So I had to add my daughter’s name with her patronymic Yuryevna. It turned out beautiful and romantic - Vayura. Having earned her share of applause, the girl admitted to us that she would happily come to Sovetsk again. For example, on the coming city day. By the way, in November last year, when the “Full House” program turned 30 years old, its presenter Regina Dubovitskaya read a letter from little Varvara: “Aunt Regina, get Svetlana Rozhkova, my mother, off the TV, because she is never at home!” Now mother and daughter are inseparable even on stage. And I admit that I handed them a bouquet of roses with a feeling of great gratitude for their creativity. However, these feelings were shared by the rest of the spectators of this wonderful concert.
Galina and Alexey Ivanov – spectators: “We liked, of course, the live concert more than the television performances! Much more impressions, great, fun, lots of positive emotions! All the jokes about men are almost to the point, great! And I really liked Vayura’s performance too!”
Oksana Mitina and Galina Tsygankova – spectators (village of Vishnevka, Slavsky district): “30 of us came here today. 12 on its own, and 18 on a minibus. Thanks to the administration of the Slavsky district for making this trip possible and helping with transport! This is a wonderful memory and vivid emotions, and there will be something to boast about... Special thanks to such eminent artists that they do not forget and sometimes come to our outback and make us happy. Although we are far away, we are still a part of Russia!”
Galina and Alexey Ivanov
To end, let me remind you that Svetlana Rozhkova became popular thanks to the TV show “Full House,” where viewers fell in love with her in the form of a mother-in-law, a fortune teller and a jealous wife. And only after the program “The Fate of a Man” with Boris Korchevnikov, admirers of Rozhkova’s work learned that her life was far from rosy. It's not even that she's been working hard since she was 18. In her life there was a place for an entertainer, a first marriage, and two near-deaths. Moreover, three years ago doctors said that she could live no more than two years and pass away at any time. But the artist is happy with her second husband Yuri Evdokunin, who accompanied her on tour in Sovetsk. Today, according to Svetlana, she appreciates every moment spent with loved ones and tries to give joy to her viewers. This has been the case since her school years, when Svetlana saw herself as an actress and, when asked why she chose this path for herself, answered: “I have one life, and when I become an actress, I will live many of them.” And so it happened, thanks to the heroes of her monologues, among whom there are both men and women. And most importantly, in recent years Rozhkova has been writing her speeches herself, without resorting to the help of other authors. Thanks to this talented woman, her daughter and husband for the two hours of joy they gave with today's concert! Now residents of Kaliningrad and Chernyakhovsk will be able to appreciate their skills. And we say goodbye until we meet again.
“Let's communicate on social networks and be friends!” - Svetlana Anatolyevna said finally. We will. We definitely will.
