“Yes, I have never been lonely. I lived a happy life with my beloved husband, director Nikolai Aleksandrovich Mokin, but in 1984 he passed away. He was only 60 years old, and he received his first pension... And so, this had to happen, in my old age in 1988, I got married again... Funny story.
It was like magic. I then lived with my mother - she was sick, almost bedridden. The doorbell rings: “Hello, I’m your neighbor.” I want to marry you! He is the father of my son’s wife, a retired lieutenant colonel, his wife died in 1984... His name is Semyonov Nikolai Alexandrovich.”
My heart sank because that was the name of my late husband, and he passed away in 1984... And then I thought - maybe this is fate. I was invited to dinner, it was just May 9th. And I saw a gloomy man sitting at the table, he spoke little, quoted Nietzsche. I was wary. After some time, he suddenly called and suggested we go for a walk.
We walked through the park, and Nikolai Alexandrovich told how he loved his wife, she was sick with cancer, he looked after her... He began to come to my mother, who was already bedridden, and showed concern, this gradually happened.”

When she realized that she could no longer work on stage one hundred percent, she decided to leave, although it was not easy to do.

Finest hour
From the biography of actress Lyudmila Arinina it is known that she became a star in 1975. This happened thanks to the series “For the rest of my life” by Pyotr Fomenko. The plot of the film is borrowed from the work “Companions” by Vera Panova. For four years, the mercy train has been running along the roads of war. The main task of its employees is to evacuate the wounded from the front. Death, blood, bombings, rare moments of rest - all this brings together people who save lives every day.
In this series, Arinina embodied the image of nurse Yulia Dmitrievna, a woman with a difficult fate. It was this role that brought the actress fame. Filming in the serial film “The Strogovs” helped her consolidate her success. Lyudmila played Agafya Danilovna, the mother of the main character.
Lyudmila Arinina: I found my happiness at 60 years old!
The actress will turn 84 in November. We remember her from the films “For the rest of my life”, “Beloved woman of mechanic Gavrilov”, “Guest from the future”. All her life she played lonely unmarried women, and she herself, as she explained in an interview with Only the Stars magazine, was very happy in love.
— Lyudmila Mikhailovna, what are you doing now in terms of work?
– I don’t play in the theater. In 2006 she left the Pyotr Fomenko Theater Studio. When you are no longer as interesting for the theater as you were before, you have to leave. Unfortunately... And the wonderful thing about cinema is that you can choose. Therefore, if they offer not very attractive material, you refuse, otherwise, you are happy to act. Now I starred in the TV series “MOOR”, which has not yet been released on the screen. There I play the mother of the main character. She starred with Mikhail Efremov. I like working with young people. I even envy them, they feel much more confident than we do.
– What is your favorite role?
- Of course, in the film “For the rest of my life.” My second work with Pyotr Fomenko was in the film “Almost a Funny Story.” We have a lot of talented artists, but it happens that there is no star role. There needs to be a match between the material, the actor, the director, and also for the film to be successful. You can't predict it in advance. Sometimes the role is good, but the film doesn’t work out - again it’s a miss. And in these films everything coincided.
– So, are you happy with your creative destiny?
- Undoubtedly! I even think that I received much more than I deserved. Of course, I would like more, more... But this is natural. It always seems that you have more creative discoveries than you have played. But it can only seem...
– You often had to play lonely, unhappy women. Are you satisfied with your personal life?
– Yes, a lonely woman with a difficult fate is my role. But my personal life turned out surprisingly well. And I wouldn’t want to change anything about it. Although it had everything – good and bad, complex and simple. And yet I'm satisfied. Although I found my true happiness only at the age of 60... At this age I got married for the third time.
- How were you not afraid to do this?
– Well, you know, in old age, love that comes is perceived differently than in youth. You don't plunge into it with your eyes closed, not understanding what is happening - everything is completely different. Suddenly there was a person nearby who became attentive to your home. My mother was bedridden, and the person took part in this. Somehow everything happened by itself. He was lonely - and his wife died, and my husband died... Although we are completely different people! Absolutely different! He is a military man. But nevertheless, some common human values are the same. He is a very decent, wise, calm person. Thank you for having him.
- Why didn’t you have children?
– My youth was during my second marriage... With my second husband, director Nikolai Mokin, we had love. I adored him! Of course, with my first husband, with whom I lived for 10 years, it was a choice of the heart. But that's not it. And here there is constant delight. We lived together for 26 years, he was a wonderful man. But... He had a terrible disease - alcoholism. I was young and had a lot of strength to endure all this. And I would never have left him if he had not died. The man cried and drank! This is a terrible thing - I couldn’t refuse and I couldn’t cope with myself either. Periodically, I “sewed it up” for a year, but the body took its toll.
– Don’t you regret that you spent 26 years on such a person?
- Not a single minute! I lived these years happily. He opened my eyes to life. He had very progressive and kind views, I understood a lot in life, thanks to him. The attitude towards me was one that every woman would be proud of. If it weren’t for this sore... In general, I think that, unlike my heroines, I was lucky in love. But with children, alas, it didn’t work out.
– I can’t even believe that you are 84 years old. It feels like you are a young man full of energy!
- Yes you! I’ve just started getting my teeth done, and sometimes I think: “Is it worth it? Maybe I won’t be wearing them for long...” Nevertheless, I do. I don’t have any special secrets for taking care of myself; I don’t do anything special except for light exercise. Apparently, this is such a constitution that I am well preserved and not burdened with diseases. However, we, actresses of the old generation, are kept on this earth by our profession. The actress cannot afford to go out into the street untidy, because people look at her and recognize her. For the same reason, you don’t overeat, you maintain your figure and appearance. Especially for filming.
– As a pensioner, do you have enough money?
– Often pensioners, including actors, complain that they have little money. And I don’t like this whining! I think that my current pension is enough to eat normally. And doctor's sausage and meat are harmful for a pensioner! Actors are now paid so much for filming that it’s a sin to complain. No, I'm happy with my situation. It would be healthy.
– You speak with such enthusiasm about the current times. Do you regret the Soviet stuff?
“I missed all the horrors of the Soviet system as if in a dream. Because she was immersed in her profession and didn’t think about anything else. Fortunately, the repressions did not affect our family. Therefore, while I was young, I unconditionally believed everything that was said around me, and I also uttered some stupid words from the stage. After all, there were so many production mediocre performances back then! And we played them. Then my eyes just started to open, but still everything seemed to be in a dream. The profession provides an opportunity to isolate yourself from cruel reality.
– Are you afraid of anything now? The future, the unknown?..
“I’m not afraid of anything except the apocalypse.” And not because I’ve read articles in newspapers, but I just see that the environmental situation on earth is really bad. All problems are caused by human intervention, and, unfortunately, I think that sooner or later a big catastrophe will happen. But not in 2012, as they say, not so early. And that's a little comforting.

In Sklifosovsky, Lyudmila Arinina appeared in the minor role of Alexandra Ivanovna, the grandmother of Dr. Konstantin Lazarev, who is called Kostik in the hospital (Vladimir Zherebtsov). The unexpected decision of the actress’s heroine will become a plot-forming factor in Kostya’s storyline. The grandmother will jeopardize the friendship of her own grandson and his longtime friend Salam (Anton Eldarov).
The actress first appeared in this role and joined the cast of the series in the previous season, which started in 2015.
New Age
In the new century, Lyudmila Arinina, whose photo can be seen in the article, continued to actively act in films and TV series. She played Ruth Arkadyevna in the film “Looking Down”, embodied the image of Elena Borisovna in “The Savior under the Birches”, and played the role of Lyudmila Ivanovna in “Leningrader”. In the film “Andersen. Life without love”, its heroine was the protagonist’s grandmother. In “Mines in the Fairway” the actress played Varvara Zakharovna, in the film “Put Out the Lights” - Zhanna Vitalievna.
Arinina played a prominent role in the detective story “The Law of Reverse Magic.” The plot of the film is borrowed from the work of the same name by Tatyana Ustinova. Local historian Pyotr Martynovich Reshetnikov, who lives in a village near Moscow, dies a mysterious death. His neighbor, amateur detective Marfa Vasilievna Korzhikova, undertakes to investigate what happened. It was this heroine that Lyudmila Mikhailovna played.
Failed marriages
Few people know that Arinina got married for the first time in her youth. The actress lived with her first husband for about ten years. The reasons for the divorce remained a mystery.
Soon after breaking up with her first husband, Lyudmila Mikhailovna met Nikolai Mokin. The director fell in love with the actress at first sight, and it was not difficult for him to win her over. Arinina loved her second husband very much and was ready to come to terms with his alcoholism and complex character. She made several attempts to get Mokin to stop drinking, but nothing worked. After 26 years of marriage, the actress was widowed. The death of her husband was a serious blow for Lyudmila Mikhailovna, but her favorite job helped her return to life.
Personal life
The actress was married three times. She lived with her first husband for 10 years, but, as she says, love and delight came to her in her second marriage.
Actress Lyudmila Arinina
She lived with her second husband Nikolai Mokin for 26 years. The actress adored him, because Nikolai was not only a talented director, but also an amazing person. She put up with his alcoholism, tolerated it, and did not give up. Nikolai could not give up alcohol; treatment and coding did not help. Probably, Lyudmila Mikhailovna would have continued to live with him, but Nikolai died. They had no children.
For the third time she found female happiness at the age of 60 - Nikolai Semenov won her heart. One day a neighbor called Arinina’s apartment and said that she had come to marry her to the father of her own son’s wife. Nikolai is a retired lieutenant colonel, a widower. Arinina admits that at first Semyonov seemed gloomy and boring to her: she did not understand why he constantly quoted Nietzsche. Over time, relations improved, two different people found common interests and values. They often walked together, Nikolai helped Lyudmila take care of her bedridden mother, and in 1986 they got married.
Lyudmila Arinina
Lyudmila Mikhailovna says that in adulthood feelings are perceived differently than in youth. She is grateful and happy to have her current husband by her side. They often go to the dacha, away from Moscow. Arinina says that she loves her old house, the lake, berries and mushrooms and gets incredible pleasure when she is there.
At the age of eighty, the actress began to study English.
Late love
Already at a fairly mature age, Arinina married for the third time. The actress's chosen one was retired lieutenant colonel Nikolai Semenov, whom her neighbor introduced her to. It cannot be said that Lyudmila Mikhailovna fell in love with this man at first sight. The widower Semenov courted her for a long time and achieved his goal. In 1986 they got married.
Fans, of course, are also interested in the children of Lyudmila Arinina. The actress never became a mother. Lyudmila Mikhailovna managed to come to terms with this. Her children are her roles.
Lyudmila Arinina's husband was haunted by the spirit of the murdered man
Doctor Yulia Dmitrievna from the film “For the Rest of My Life”, grandmother of Yulia Gribkova in “Guest from the Future”, artist Taisiya Pavlovna in “Almost a Funny Story”, a lonely waitress in “The Beloved Woman of Mechanic Gavrilov”... In the movies she played lonely women, and in life Lyudmila Arinina had a beloved husband. “You can’t imagine what a blessing it was to live with him!” This is what Lyudmila Mikhailovna says about a man who drank heavily for forty years... And she forgave him everything. Why?
director Nikolai Mokin, who became her second husband, when she lived in Chelyabinsk. At the local drama theater they greeted the Moscow director with great excitement, who immediately charmed everyone. He was short, wore glasses, and was not handsome, but his charm was such that all the actresses immediately fell in love with him. And he began to court Lyudmila, and very quickly they got married. But Arinina did not yet know what awaited her ahead. It turned out that Mokin was a chronic alcoholic, who, despite his talent, was not tolerated in any of the Moscow theaters.
“When I learned that my husband was suffering from this disease, I sometimes lost heart,” says Lyudmila Mikhailovna. – But it seemed that I had enough strength to fight, I was young and simply adored him! I didn’t judge him, I didn’t even think about leaving him. After all, he did not “walk”, but drank because his body required it. He cried and drank! He understood that something terrible was happening to him, but he couldn’t stop...
One day Lyudmila got into a conversation with her husband’s mother, and she told her a terrible story. During the war, Nikolai went to the front as a military translator; he knew German perfectly. The young man was full of thirst to “beat the Germans,” but did not understand that he would have to actually kill people. And we had to kill our own people, the “traitors.”
So, they decided to shoot the male switchman who did not have time to transfer the train to the required rails. Mokin was ordered to do this.
Having carried out the order, he almost went crazy that same night: the image of the murdered man stood as a reproach in his eyes. My regiment comrades advised: “Drink a hundred grams!” This is how Mokin’s fate was decided. He returned from the war as a chronic alcoholic.
“It really hurts me to remember this even after so many years...” Lyudmila Mikhailovna says sadly. - Apparently, after this story, he loaded himself with alcohol for several months, and maybe even years... Therefore, then no doctors could help us. True, one village healer forced my husband to take a long break.
Thanks to the healer, Alexander Nikolaevich did not touch booze for more than ten years. The family moved to Khabarovsk, where Mokin made a good career in the local theater. But one day, on May 9, when front-line soldiers came to the theater and began to remember the war, the director could not stand it. The unarmed man with a confused look appeared before his eyes again, at whom he shot.
“He poured a mug of vodka and creaked with his burnt bundles: “I’m untying it before your eyes!” – recalls Novosibirsk actor Mikhail Pichigin, who worked with Mokin at that time. “He drank, went out somewhere, and no one saw him in the theater again.” We were horrified because we knew that Nikolai Alexandrovich had not drunk for thirteen years! After some time at the theater he was given his resignation. At such moments, Mokin did not go somewhere to a pub, but home.
At night he asked his wife: “I beg you, run for vodka!” And the famous actress walked across the city at night to a restaurant for a bottle. She felt sorry for her husband. When Nikolai Alexandrovich’s health finally deteriorated, his wife took him to Moscow and placed him in a good hospital. But it was too late; there the director suffered a massive heart attack. Having come to his senses, he told his wife only one thing: “Don’t leave me!” He understood that it was only thanks to this woman that he held on in life. But Lyudmila Mikhailovna, upset by the troubles and worries, did not listen to him and left the room. And the next day the husband died.
After that, the actress was alone for five years, and then another mystical story happened in her life. Her father died and she was unable to attend his funeral. For a month after this, the image of her father haunted her thoughts, but she stubbornly drove him away.
“One day I was resting at home and dozed off,” recalls Lyudmila Mikhailovna. – And suddenly I woke up from the fact that I felt someone’s presence in the room... I realized that it was my father who had come. Then I heard his voice: “Why do you keep driving me away from you?” After that I cried, and all the heaviness of my soul went away.
Immediately after the death of her father, Lyudmila Mikhailovna met her third husband, a military man, whom her neighbors introduced her to. They have been together for more than twenty years, but the actress honestly says that she did not love anyone with the same intensity as Nikolai Mokin.
Need to pray for peace
What should you do if you, voluntarily or unwittingly, caused the death of a person? We asked psychic Daria Mironova to answer this question.
“Indeed, if a person caused the death of another, then the soul of the deceased can haunt him, appear, disturb him...” says Mironova. – The fact is that the resentment of the murdered person, which he experienced at the time of death, remains on earth in the form of a certain negative program. The soul of this person can return to earth again and again and haunt the culprit. This will happen until the culprit repents.
It is necessary to order the “Repentance Service” in three churches at the same time, which must be visited on the same day. Come to church, order this prayer service and write the name of the deceased person in the note for the repose of the soul. You also need to order a prayer service for a year for the health of the one who caused the death. It is best if this is done by a relative of the deceased by blood or his close acquaintance. If the murdered person has forgiven you and you have come to an understanding, then you will be able to atone for your sin faster. And, of course, you need to do as many good deeds as possible.
What now
This year the talented actress will turn 92 years old. Lyudmila Mikhailovna spends most of her time in the Moscow region at her dacha. Here she enjoys the fresh air, swims in the lake, picks berries and mushrooms.
The actress’s latest achievement at the moment is a small, but striking role in the TV series “Farza”. In this television project she embodied the image of Rushi. There is no information yet about the star’s future creative plans. Fans can only hope for her return to the set.
