Alexey Goman: photo, biography, creativity and interesting facts

The childhood years of Alexey Goman

The future star was born into an ordinary but musical family.
In their youth, Alexei’s parents performed in the “Losers” ensemble. The main work of the parents in no way concerned the world of music. My father worked as an electrician, and my mother worked in one of the military units of Murmansk. Unfortunately, the singer’s parents did not live to see the heyday of their son’s career. His father died of a severe pulmonary disease (asthma) when Alexei was barely 15, and his mother died of an infectious lung disease three years later. Alexey and his brother Evgeniy were left orphans.

Studying at a theater school, participating in the Ice Age project, and solo concerts in Moscow and the Moscow region attract the attention of admirers of his talent. Alexey is closely busy preparing a new album and writing original songs. We talked about all this on the eve of the New Year.

— Many journalists at the end of the year like to ask a question about the results of the outgoing year. Let me not be an exception, and I will also ask: what was 2014 like for the artist Alexei Goman?

— It was a very interesting year. It brought a lot of changes in different directions: it was sad, it was also fun. But overall, everything was very interesting. Such a favorite interesting year.

— On November 30, another solo concert took place in Moscow. Did he give you pleasure?

- Certainly! Of course I delivered!

— The audience saw a new Goman in him. Along with already familiar songs, old hits were sounded in a new way. Do you plan to continue this experience and continue collaborating with musicians?

— Yes, I plan to hold a big concert only with live music, so that there are no negative arrangements, but everything is improvised, so that the entire concert is live. This is the plan.

— Will there be a tour with this concert?

“We not only want to sing in Moscow, we want to show it to the rest of the residents of our country, in other cities. Let's go and show you. First we need to make this big program. So far it is only in its infancy.

— Studying at the German Sidakov School of Drama gave me new knowledge, new experience, and new acquaintances. Have they been useful in life and work? Will you continue to pursue acting? Do you have big acting ambitions?

— I have big acting ambitions. I want to become an actor, I want to continue working in the theater and acting in films. I want to be an artist not only on the stage. The experience gained at the School was, of course, useful. This is what school is for, so that you can feel your new facets, so that you can stir up your emotions, feel, bring yourself to the very bottom, to unpleasant emotions, and to the very top. So that you understand what is inside you, what individual levers are, your personal ones, what is the beauty of you as a person. Each artist has his own charm, his own zest. Understanding this gives you emancipation, freedom, confidence. You accept yourself for who you are. And German Sidakov is just the kind of person who extracts this individuality from a person. A person looks at himself from the outside and understands a lot about himself. This is not only training, this is some kind of human training.

— Did you manage to get individuality out of yourself? Yes?

- Certainly! This is the merit of Herman. Therefore, he is the only such teacher in our entire country.

— Did you manage to make any new acquaintances, or get any benefit from it?

— I made a lot of friends, creative guys who are associated with the theater, actors. And I really, really like this segment of society. He is even closer to me than the environment of pop artists. In my communication, I have always gravitated towards people associated with the theater, rather than towards people who perform on stage and are musicians.

- But there are a lot of musicians studying at this school?

- Well, these are not their main professions, they do not only music, this is an additional feature of them, because many actors are multifaceted.

— Once upon a time, German Sidakov was a teacher at the Star Factory.

- Well, yes, it was like that.

— Lesha, how real is the information about your training at the Evgeniy Papunaishvili Dance School? Is this a new round of creative life?

- No, this is not a revolution at all. It’s just that after the Ice Age, I got used to giving myself physical activity for five months - I had an active life, and my body was already accustomed to activity. Therefore, it was my desire to go to Zhenya’s house to dance, to physically support myself, and I just want to learn not to slouch, keep myself in shape, and move beautifully. At the same time, dance with your partner. In general, I’ve been wanting to go for a long time, even after Dancing with the Stars, but I just went now. Every week I attend classes 2-3 times.

— This year new songs have appeared in your repertoire, but mostly they are yours. Are you thinking about expanding your repertoire at all? Are there any plans to work with other authors? Or add world hits?

— People often send me songs to listen to, but so far there has been nothing that I liked. Not much new. I just want something very pleasant, so now we are all singing old songs, and there is nothing new.

— What about world hits?

- No, what hits?! I don't know what to say about the repertoire. I now have plans to record an album, and that’s all. Now I only think about this. Some songs are being listened to, but so far there has been nothing worthwhile.

— The next question is about the album. Can viewers and listeners count on the publication of your original songs, which are appearing more and more often? Or do you think this is a hobby and only worthy of a desk drawer?

— Yes, there are already two albums worth of songs! I don’t know yet what the reason is that they didn’t come out. Maybe it’s because of my meticulousness, I get too attached to the arrangements and music, I’m not happy with many things, so it drags on. Maybe we need to “let go” of this. I’ll relax and release this disc, one hundred percent, in 2020, because it’s already indecent to delay it any longer. He promised too much not to deliver.

- But that magic table that you often talked about, if you look into it, what is there in the bins?

- Yes, there’s a lot of stuff there. It's not a matter of material, it's a matter of framing, roughly speaking. We need good arrangers. Just singing songs with a guitar doesn’t seem very interesting to me.

— Are there people in your circle who are ready to help?

Certainly! Sasha Panayotov, Lesha Chumakov, and everyone with whom we were connected at “People’s Artist” help me. Everyone helps.

— Let's talk about another important stage of your biography - participation in the Ice Age project. Did you regret signing up for this?

- I don’t regret it at all. I learned a lot from there, met athletes who also taught me a lot. At least the fact that you don’t have to give up under any circumstances. And if you have already fallen (both literally and figuratively), then all you need to do is just forget about it, and not carry this fall with you into your future life. Fell, got up, forgot - this is the main rule at this moment.

— Which of your performances brought you the most satisfaction? What can you say: “Hurray, I did it!”

- There are such numbers! I'm really proud of them. “Take me away” was a beautiful number, then to the English song Saysomething, where we were lying on the ice, and a quick dance in the “Musicals” theme: Jersey Boys - Beggin. Although for me it was the most painful moment in terms of results...

— Have you made new friends in sports?

- Friends? We communicate, of course. This is friendship with coaches, and with Ilya Averbukh, and with Alexander Zhulin. When you spend five months doing one thing, especially when this thing is connected with some emotional experiences, with stress and fears, and, conversely, with some joyful events, when something works out and you make yourself happy , and your partner, and your coaches, and all the people are happy that you did it, that this is a leap for you. It's impossible not to get close to people when such emotional things happen. Therefore, I personally have a very warm attitude towards Ilya Averbukh, our directors, sound engineers, film crew, everyone who made the big beautiful show “Ice Age”, which is not in vain for so many seasons on television, that’s why it is so popular. A beautiful and complex matter for me. Now, when the fatigue from training has already gone away, the tension from the fact that you are participating in this competition and you need to control yourself and not relax has gone away, you perceive “Ice Age” as a fairy tale, a wonderful act, such a stage in life.

- Well, what about your rivals? How did they perceive you? How did you communicate? "Hi Hi"?

- Not really. Of course, we communicated normally. We had breakfast and lunch together. All the time together, when you study for six hours in the same place with the same participants. There was a time when I went to Sochi to see Yana. Sasha Ursulyak and Vanya Skobrev traveled with us. We all flew there with our partners to train. There were a lot of interesting things, some gatherings after work.

I would also like to say something about the guys-athletes: Lesha Tikhonov, Roma Kostomarov, Maxim Stavisky and Maxim Marinin, in general, all the male skaters helped and supported me. As for Stavisky, Tikhonov and Chernyshev, they have already seen me in such mental states, when something didn’t work out for me, when I was simply furious with all this and did not know how to control myself, when there was a feeling of collapse, complete failure. They always came up, saw my condition and found some words to support me, say something sporty, like, “Don’t worry, we also had this in our lives.” That is, they knew how to say it and tell it so that I understood: the devil is not as terrible as the participant in the “Ice Age” imagines him, who did not skate much when he skated.

— Tell us about your relationship with your partner Yana Khokhlova. Do you continue to communicate after the end of the project? How did she accept your inability to skate?

— Yana is engaged in coaching. She trains children, she is a very good trainer. At first, when we met for the first time, I immediately felt Yana’s complete affection. She was ready for anything: what I could do, what I couldn’t. She was sincerely happy that I was able to achieve some elements very quickly. When we received the first support, it was also very pleasant, and Yana was happy. Yana is such a girl... She is very patient, she explains very well. There was never any pressure on her part, or any nerves or outbursts of emotion. Yana is a very calm person, although she has too much fire inside. She is restless on the ice. On the ice she is a fiery girl, absolutely gorgeous. And in her work she is a sober, very kind mentor. And as a partner, it’s very pleasant to be with her. She is, of course, sensitive. There are a lot of different energies in it. She herself is very different. And I received great pleasure, and will continue to receive it, when we ride with her again: from the way you ride with her, holding her hand, feeling the weight of her body, her warmth. She has absolutely extraordinary eyes. You can just look at it endlessly. I have very warm feelings for her, as much as a man can have for a woman. I'm not talking about love now or any lust, just humanly.

As far as such feelings can be, I have them for Yana. A very good girl, I respect her endlessly. She really loves my songs with a guitar, because I sang some to her on the phone. So that she understands who she is dealing with, what kind of person is next to her, with whom she is riding.

— Have there been any offers to tour with skaters?

— We haven’t talked about it yet.

- Would you like to?

- Don't know. Hardly. I would like to sing more and do my own thing.

—Have you already started preparing for the Gala concert?

- Yes, one of these days we will begin to prepare.

— After participating in the “Ice Age” project, new fans appeared; on social networks they discuss performances, events in your life, and ask questions. I would like to ask a few questions from one of the VKontakte groups. Are you planning to shoot a video for any song?

- Of course, I plan to. I really hope I’ll do it before the New Year.

— What is your favorite performance among those currently showing in Moscow?

— I’ve been going to very few plays lately. It's very difficult to imagine. I love Viktyuk, I really want to watch his “At the Beginning and at the End of Time.” I'm heading to A Streetcar Named Desire soon. I don't see enough performances to say that this is the best.

—What role would you like to play?

“I have absolutely no ambitions to play someone.” I don't know if this is right or wrong. I just want to play because there are no uninteresting characters.

— What music do you like to listen to when you’re driving in the car?

- Depends on mood. But the car is the only place where I listen to music. And I listen to everything new, what I buy on iTunes, any new album that interests me. I can hear a song somewhere, record it on Shazam, identify it by Shazam, download the entire artist album and listen to it. I don't have any favorite singers. I listen to everything new, I follow everyone, in many directions. But if I start listing, it will be a huge list.

— After the end of the Ice Age, will you continue to engage in figure skating or will you hang up your skates?

— I definitely won’t continue to do figure skating, because I don’t really understand why I need it. But I’ll hang my skates on a nail, just the one near me, so that they are always in sight, not only in winter, so that I can always take them off and skate.

— How do you compose songs? Can inspiration and lines come suddenly or are they composed based on certain events?

- And so and so. Sometimes this process is soul-searching, sometimes this process is a memory of some state when something bothered you. You need a theme for this song and you try to remember your feelings, you remember, you take it out from somewhere, but it doesn’t hurt you so much, and sometimes it turns out idiotically: you write the lyrics and that’s it. Sometimes you sit on a line for several days, all the time you write some lines, but you don’t like them at all.

Sometimes writing a text can take a long time. This is such a joint help from inspiration. Because inspiration also has its limits. It may stop working because you feel dizzy. Then you start finishing it with your head. Some interesting line appears that finally strikes all your thoughts. There are words that explain everything. When you wanted three sentences, but they fit in one line and it turns out very cool. And then inspiration appears again and you can write on it again.

This is such a very painful process, but when it works out, it’s pleasant. Because there is some idea that you want to express, there are a lot of moments that limit your possibilities. Either the rhyme is wrong, then the syllable is wrong, then the word cannot be inclined like that, or the word is inappropriate. And again you redo everything. As they say about Vysotsky, he sat at night, smoked a pack of cigarettes and wrote. At least one line. But this is Vysotsky. His rhymes and poems are brilliant.

— And when you write a song, do you already know whether it will be a song or just poetry?

- If I write a song, I write a song. I don't mix. If we talk about poems, then a lot of things are written incorrectly; tempo and rhythm often suffer in them. I don’t consider myself a poet, these are just my experiences, and not the desire to write.

— Do you want to record a duet with someone?

- I didn’t think about it.

— There is a desire, but not with anyone?

- It’s not that there’s no one. I have interesting proposals. If we talk simply about desire, and not because “it is necessary,” then there is such a singer as Katya Nova. She and I have been friends for a long time and want to record a duet, just like that, without any publicity goals. Let's write something down. But it’s not something that I directly dream about, singing a duet with someone. Such a desire is generally absent. I take it calmly, and I like singing alone, being with the audience, so much that I don’t know...

— Will cooperation with Alexandra Pakhmutova continue? She said she has a song for you.

- There was no continuation.

— What would you wish to all fans, viewers, and yourself too on the eve of the New Year?

- Don't be afraid of anything! There is no need to be afraid of anything, I realized this in Ice Age. It's just that when you're afraid, you don't do anything. These are not very gentle times: the dollar is somehow strange, the war is very close at hand. There is something to worry about. But don't worry. When you are afraid, you stand still and do nothing. And if you try not to think about fear, but to move forward, then there is a high chance that something will change. And it’s better to strive to change something than to remain in some kind of incomprehensible stability. This is what I wish! Don't be afraid of anything in the New Year!
