Alexey Zubkov - biography
Alexey Zubkov is a famous Ukrainian actor, who is gladly invited to filming by both Ukrainian and Russian directors.
He became famous after the release of the action-packed series “Mine.” His road to fame was not straight and well-trodden. Alexey Zubkov went through a lot and experienced a lot before he realized that his real calling was cinema and theater. He won the love of the audience thanks to his talent, coupled with painstaking work.
Childhood and youth
The actor's biography begins in the capital of Ukraine - Kyiv, where he was born on March 27, 1975. His parents were military men and served in the navy.

My mother was demobilized after completing military service with the rank of sailor 1st article, and my father continued to serve in reconnaissance of the Northern Fleet. Alexey was only 6 months old when the family moved to Murmansk to his father’s place of service. They returned to Kyiv when Alyosha turned 14 - her parents became pensioners. Alexey's sister lives in St. Petersburg.
As a child, the boy wanted to continue the family dynasty and become a sailor. He even tried to become a cadet at the Nakhimov and Suvorov schools. But poor eyesight let me down.
For the same reason, the guy was not drafted into the army. After constant medical examinations, which Alexey underwent several times a year, he had to forget about his military career.
Alexey did not study at a regular school - he received a certificate from specialized gymnasium No. 136, with in-depth study of history and philology. The guy liked history, together with his teacher they participated in archaeological expeditions and were deeply involved in historical research. But very quickly Alexey realized that he didn’t want to do this all his life.
Alyosha Zubkov enrolled in a music school, where he learned to play the trumpet. But he mastered the guitar himself, and he was just great at it.
After graduating from school, he still did not decide where he would go. He didn’t really want anything, so the young man got a job at a construction site. His fate changed with the light hand of his father, who clearly said in a military manner that his son must enter any institute if he does not want to spend his whole life on a construction site. Alexey thought a little and settled on the theatrical one.
Having firmly decided to change his proletarian biography to a creative one, Alexey Zubkov becomes a student at the Kyiv Theater Institute. Karpenko-Kary. But after the third year he suddenly dropped out of school, deciding that the stage was not for him.
For four years he has been trying to find his place in life - he works in a commercial company, providing security, then becomes a driver-bodyguard. But I still realized that I couldn’t live without a scene that sucked me in like a drug. A person who has been on stage at least once will never be able to live without it.
Alexey Zubkov received his university diploma in 2001 and immediately got a job.
Theater
The young actor was invited to the National Academic Drama Theater named after. I. Franko and was immediately included in the main troupe. He was involved in productions of various genres - the classic "Othello" and "The Brothers Karamazov", in "Sentimental Cruise" and "Aesop", "Tevye-Tevel" and "Oedipus the King". Thanks to his work in the theater, Zubkov’s acting skills grew, which was so useful during filming.
Working in the theater helped to gain certain experience and skills, but did not add fame to the actor. In 2002, the actor was invited to act in films. His debut took place after the release of the Ukrainian series “Critical Condition”, where, in the plot, patients become mutants. This role was a good start to Zubkov’s creative activity. After the release of the film, invitations poured in not only from Ukrainian, but also from Russian directors.
Alexey Zubkov was invited to shoot the film “Bankers”, “The Myth of the Ideal Man”, “Collection”. His debut work on Russian television was a minor role in the film “Unofficial Assignment 2. Explosion at Dawn.”
All his characters are somewhat similar to each other - they are sympathetic and sensitive, have a happy family. The actor plays exclusively positive characters - officer Sergei Gushchin in the film “Black Snow”, a bodyguard in the film “I am a Bodyguard”, Dmitry Khokhlov in the project of Ukrainian directors “The Genius of Empty Space”.
After these films, the actor gained incredible popularity; he is perceived as a versatile actor and is offered the roles of established business sharks and handsome heroes. They began to recognize Zubkov and stop him on the street to get an autograph. His photographs appear on the covers of glossy magazines.
In 2005, Zubkov received an invitation from director A. Kozlov, who was preparing to shoot the film “Mine.” This work became one of the best in the actor’s creative biography. His hero is Gennady Tomilin, who returned to his native mine and found out that his beloved girl was already married to someone else. Tomilin managed to survive this betrayal and find the strength to live and work further. The film was so popular that it was decided to make a sequel.
After this film there was another work with the same director A. Kozlov, who offered Zubkov a role in the new project “Black Snow”. The actor played an officer who defended the residents of a small town in Siberia.
Next up is a new work in tandem with the same director. It was the movie Always Say Always. In 2020, Zubkov could be seen in the film “The Last Frontier,” which tells about the heroic defense of Moscow. In this film, Alexei’s hero is Captain Gundilovich, to whom political instructor Klochkov is sent.
Ukrainian directors also do not forget about their illustrious compatriot. In 2020, he starred in the multi-part film “Ask Autumn,” which brought together numerous fans of the brilliant actor’s talent in front of their television screens. Zubkov always says that he is a Ukrainian actor, there just aren’t many offers in his homeland, so he has to agree to offers from Russian directors.
In 2020, the films “Queen Margot”, “On the Edge of the Abyss”, “Crossroads of Fate” were filmed, which were already appreciated by the audience. Actor Alexey Zubkov is full of strength and energy, so he hopes that he will soon have new works in which he will be able to reveal the versatility of his talent.
Actor's debut
Alexey Zubkov’s filmography begins with the Ukrainian-French drama “Dead Man’s Friend” (1997). There he played a cameo role as a tough guy in a burgundy shirt. Apparently, it was not easy to start in cinema, since after the debut there were no offers from directors for some time. His next film shoots took place only five years later.
Family life
In interviews, Alexey most often speaks only about his creative works, avoiding questions about his personal life. It is known that his wife is Tatyana Shlyakhovaya, with whom he studied at the theater institute. Having started their careers, the couple began to play together on the stage of the Ivan Franko Drama Theater.

After filming the series, two years later, Alexey Zubkov played in the war film “The Iron Hundred,” where the actor’s role was not the main one. This was followed by filming in other films: “Bankers” (director), “Collection” (special department employee). These films did not bring Alexei great popularity.
First roles
In 2002, actor Alexei Zubkov came to the set for the first time. The filmography of the aspiring artist has been expanded with the series “Critical Condition”. The television project tells about the mysterious events that take place in the hospital of a small resort town.
This was followed by a series of episodic roles. “The Iron Hundred,” “Unofficial Assignment 2: Explosion at Dawn,” “Bankers,” “The Myth of the Ideal Man,” “Collection” are film and television projects in which Zubkov appeared at the beginning of his career.
First successful roles
Although Alexei’s roles were small, they became the beginning of a great creative path. A huge credit for this was directed by Alexei Kozlov, who believed in the actor and approved him for the main role in the 8-episode film “Mine.” After its release, Alexey Zubkov (photo on the right) also felt widespread fame and adoration from women.
After watching the film, the entire Internet was filled with rave reviews. The second part of the series was filmed in the same year. But it turned out that she was already married. Remaining at the mine, he went to work for the police, where various dramatic events began to happen to him.
Realizing that the films with Alexei Zubkov received the desired success, director Kozlov cast the actor in a new project - “Black Snow”. In the series, our hero played a former officer, Sergei Gushchin, who defended the residents of a Siberian village from bandits.
Kozlov did not stop there and cast the actor with a small role in the famous TV series “Always Say “Always”-4.”
In the films “I am a bodyguard: Killer for the anniversary” (agency bodyguard), “Genius of Empty Space” (investigator - Mitya Khokhlov, looking for a killer), Alexey Zubkov played strong, reliable and brave men. Thus, he made half of the women in our country fall in love with him.
The filmography of Alexey Zubkov includes more than fifty films. The genres in which he works are diverse. These include action films, crime films, melodramas, adventures, and detective stories. The actor continues to act in films and play in the theater, delighting fans with his creativity.
