Sergey Burunov - biography, news, photos.

Biography

As a child, Sergei did not dream of becoming an actor - he wanted to fly and dreamed of becoming a military pilot. The family lived near Domodedovo Airport, so the boy was interested in everything related to airplanes. Together with their father, they went to demonstrations of ace pilots in Tushino and Kubinka.

In high school, Serezha trained as an amateur pilot at the 2nd Moscow Aeroclub named after Talalikhin. By 1993, at the age of 16, he completed the course “Flight operation of the Yak-52 training aircraft.”

In 1994, the young man went to Volgograd and entered the Kachinsky Higher Aviation School of Pilots named after A.F. Myasnikov, where he studied for three years. Here Sergei Burunov first tried himself in the comedy genre - there was a local KVN team at the school, and the young student gladly took part in parody performances.

Sergei recalls: “In our second year, we were lucky to get into the medical unit - this is a lafa, a resort for military personnel. There, having come up with another joke for a performance, my friend Lekha Kozlov thought: “What if I become an artist?” He thought, and then I went...

I toiled for a long time, now here, now here. I wanted to stay in my specialty and thought about entering the Academy of Civil Aviation. I went to one lecture and left. Because I saw a cutaway section of an engine turbine from some boy. It was necessary to draw the engine on a giant Whatman paper. I say: “No, this is definitely not mine.”

In an attempt to find himself, Sergei Burunov entered the State Variety and Circus School named after M.N. in 1997. Rumyantseva. However, the very next year the young man left and entered the VTU named after B.V. Shchukin on a course with M.A. Panteleeva.

“Big Difference” and other parody projects

In 2007, the man successfully passed the casting for the parody television project “Big Difference”, showing a parody of Vladimir Etush, its former rector, at the audition. Sergei Burunov - “Big Difference”, Grigory Leps Sergei got into the role so realistically that he instantly became one of the audience’s favorites. Burunov parodied almost every famous man in domestic show business. His track record includes more than 100 characters, starting with Mikhail Galustyan and ending with Leonid Yakubovich.

But the colossal workload and great responsibility - prototypes of parodies watched his work and evaluated his performance - forced Sergei, who always preferred “intimacy,” to leave “Big Difference” for cinema. Although in all this time only Sergei Bezrukov was offended by Burunov - for the parody of General Kappel and the film “Admiral”. “Big Difference” - Admiral From 2009 to 2011, Burunov took part in the work on the parody project “Cartoon of Personality”, voicing many cartoon characters, including Dmitry Medvedev, Nikita Mikhalkov and Stas Mikhailov.

"A big difference"

Sergei Burunov gained wide fame and love from viewers after participating in the popular show “Big Difference.” He immediately declared himself as a talented comedian and parodist, outplaying a lot of celebrities.

Who has the artist ever parodied: TV presenters Alexander Gordon, Vladimir Pozner, Alexander Maslyakov, Dmitry Krylov, Leonid Parfenov, Mikhail Shats, Ivan Zatevakhin, poet Alexander Pushkin, actors Fyodor Bondarchuk, Vladimir Etush, Konstantin Khabensky, Andrei Myagkov, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, singers Vyacheslav Butusov, Philip Kirkorov and many, many others.

However, the actor himself claims that he does not make parodies: “I play these people. I try to show human processes. How a person thinks, how he speaks, why he says that.”

“For someone it’s immediately clear how to do it, you find something in yourself that is in tune with him. You read an interview with someone, you can learn a lot from there. You can watch it in real life, in the movies. It happens that you look at some report about him and see that he is completely different there. It turns out that this is what he really is!” - admits Sergei.

Biography of Sergei Burunov

Sergei Burunov is the real pride of Russian cinema, a magnificent comedian, parodist and dubbing master. For a long time, the actor worked in the comedy program “Big Difference,” parodying Konstantin Khabensky, Mikhail Galustyan, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Ivan Urgant and other stars of domestic show business. He won the audience's love thanks to the series “Policeman from Rublyovka”, “Ivanovs-Ivanovs”, “Call DiCaprio”. Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Sandler speak in Burunov's voice from the big screens.

Voice acting

Sergey Burunov is also known as a master of dubbing. He first appeared in this capacity in 1991 in the film “In Bed with the Enemy”, then there were “Braveheart”, “Trapped in Time”, “2 Fast 2 Furious”, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, “The Italian Job” "

Since 2004, he has voiced almost all films starring Leonardo DiCaprio: “The Aviator”, “Blood Diamond”, “Body of Lies”, “Revolutionary Road”, “Shutter Island”, “Inception”, “J. Edgar", "Django Unchained", "The Great Gatsby", "The Revenant".

The actor has already produced more than 200 dubbed films. Johnny Depp, Adam Sandler, Ewan McGregor, Gerard Butler, Tim Roth, Danny DeVito and many other stars also speak in his voice at the domestic box office.

In addition, Sergei is a voice-over artist for cartoons (“The Adventures of Rolly 3D”, “Despicable Me”) and computer games (“SWAT 4”, “Dreamfall: The Longest Journey”, “The Witcher”).

“The hardest thing is to play it all in front of the microphone. For what the artist does on camera, he prepared for a long time, trained, rehearsed... As they say, he does not do all this with a cold nose. And you are standing in front of a microphone in a warm studio in an unknown mood, and you need to manage to do everything the same.

The second is the difficulty of translation. English has different rhythms, different meanings, which often simply disappear during translation. And the third is the issue of text layout: it is necessary that all phrases in Russian fall in duration into the phrases of the characters that sound in the English version. You have to spend a lot of time to get it all to play in Russian.

Live shots, I mean people and feature films, are much easier to dub. There is some kind of misconception about cartoons: many of my colleagues dream of voicing a cartoon because it is “so cool, so fun.” This is, of course, great, but not always fun, since in animated films it is easy to cross the line into caricature. Now animation has reached such a scale that the characters are endowed with very deep psychology. You can’t speak in a funny voice or make faces, you need to find a suitable sound for the character that will be truthful. This is a rather labor-intensive story,” notes Burunov.

The main thing about Sergei Burunov: 10 facts that you might not know

Sergei Burunov
42-year-old Sergei Burunov can now be seen in almost every high-profile project. Among the latter is Konstantin Bogomolov’s series “Kept Women,” where the artist played an official who regularly cheats on his wife with “girls with low social responsibility,” as Burunov himself put it. Before that there were “House Arrest”, “Policeman from Rublyovka”, “A Short Course in Family Life”, “Duhless 2”, “Kitchen” and dozens and dozens of other roles. We share interesting facts from the artist’s biography.

He was going to become a pilot

If Sergei Burunov had not become a screen star, most likely he would have been sitting at the controls of an airplane. The artist dreamed of becoming a military pilot since childhood: the family lived not far from Domodedovo, and the father often took his sons to demonstration performances at the Tushinsky airfield and the airbase in Kubinka.

As Burunov says, when he first attended such performances at the age of 13, he “blew a valve”: he decided that he would become a pilot. In high school, he studied at the flying club, and after school he entered the Kachin Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots. But over time, the student became bored with his chosen profession: mainly due to the fact that teachers paid more attention to theory rather than practice - and there was much less romance in this.

He started with KVN

During his studies, Sergei developed another passion: he began to play in KVN, loved to parody officers and classmates. As a result, the dream of the stage prevailed, and Burunov dropped out of school. Because of this, by the way, there was a big scandal at home, and his parents didn’t talk to him for two months.

Having given up his dream of flying, Burunov failed the exams at the Shchukin Higher Theater School and studied for a year at the circus school. On his second attempt, Sergei finally became a student at Shchuka, where his comedic talent was revealed.

Work in the theater

After graduating, the actor spent four years on the stage of the Moscow Academic Theater of Satire, where he was involved in several performances, played one role in “Theater.doc”, but soon began acting in the show “Big Difference” and finally said goodbye to the theater.

Hollywood stars speak in his voice

In addition to frequent appearances on camera, Burunov also works a lot behind the scenes: he is now one of the most sought-after dubbing actors and has voiced over more than 200 films, as well as some computer games. Sergei’s voice is spoken by numerous Hollywood stars, from Johnny Depp to Danny DeVito, and most often by Leonardo DiCaprio, whom he voiced in more than a dozen films. According to Burunov, this work is no easier than filming a movie:

The hardest part is playing it all in front of a microphone. For what the artist does on camera, he prepared for a long time, trained, rehearsed... As they say, he does not do all this with a cold nose. And you are standing in front of a microphone in a warm studio in an unknown mood, and you need to manage to do everything the same.

During an interview with Yuri Dudya, Burunov admitted that the work of a dubbing actor is obscenely poorly paid.

He is the most popular artist of the show "Big Difference"

Many viewers recognized Burunov thanks to the parody show “Big Difference” on Channel One. The actor began appearing in this program from its very first release and, according to viewer ratings, was the most popular artist of the show. And also precisely those who played the largest number of roles in this project: dozens of celebrities became the heroes of Burunov’s parodies in “The Big Difference” - from Philip Kirkorov to Bruce Willis. It’s interesting that at the casting for the project, Burunov portrayed Vladimir Etush, the rector of his school.

He has never been married

The actor has no wife or children. He himself says that it’s a matter of natural shyness, which he easily copes with during work, but in life it’s much more difficult for him to loosen up:

Sometimes they ask me: “How is this possible, you are an artist?” I answer: “What does this have to do with it? An artist is my profession, and no one has canceled my inherent human qualities.”

The press knows practically nothing about Burunov’s personal life, and he does not give journalists much reason for rumors. He rarely speaks on the topic of relationships, mentioning only that he likes “oriental-type women” with dark hair and an athletic figure.

In the meantime, the closest people to Sergei are his father and brother (the actor’s mother died several years ago). He even bought an apartment for himself not far from his parents' house. The actor said about his mother:

There will be no one closer. Never. For some reason, as life shows, I am convinced of this and am sure that even your wife will not become closer to you than your mother. And some kind of internal connection breaks, a very powerful one. The pain doesn't go away, it gets duller. And all these tales about time; what it cures. It doesn't cure anything! It only hurts!

He is friends with Alexander Petrov

Photos often appear on Burunov’s Instagram with his colleague in the TV series “Policeman from Rublyovka” Alexander Petrov, whose unprecedented popularity has long been a reason for jokes. Journalists often cannot decide whether Alexander and Sergei are best friends, or, as some headlines say, “a cat ran between them.” Moreover, the actors love to tease each other. So, on Yuri Dud’s show, Burunov laughed at Petrov’s statement that he dreams of an Oscar:

Did he seriously say that? I don't even know what to answer to this. Everything has dried up for me! No, it’s great, of course, that he has such ambitions. I just really didn't know. Well, in terms of growth, it's cool. He won't die from modesty.

Alexander Petrov and Sergey Burunov

But in the same interview, Sergei spoke about his warm relationship with his colleague:

When I die, I will not forget his face! In fact, jokes aside, Sasha is a professional, a wonderful person with some kind of inner truth and pain, absolutely caring in his profession. Since we became almost relatives on this project, I also know him as a person, and by and large he surprised me. I had a great time working with him.

He does charity work

On his 42nd birthday, Burunov transferred 42 thousand rubles to the Konstantin Khabensky Foundation for the treatment of children with severe brain diseases. By the way, Sergei was again inspired by Alexander Petrov:

On your birthday, you can talk about yourself, or you can talk about those whose lives you are able to make at least a little better. Sasha Petrov (yes, not a minute without him, even today) did a great job at his BD. And I want to follow his example.

He also called on fans to raise money for the fund and break the record of Petrov’s fans, who previously donated 300 thousand rubles.

He has a joint project with Alexander Malenkov

Burunov has not performed on the theater stage for a long time, but currently he has a new project, “Reading Thoughts,” which he created together with the editor-in-chief of Maxim magazine, Alexander Malenkov. Both were involved in the sensational project “Unprincipled Readings,” where Malenkov performed his miniatures, and Burunov read stories from writers participating in the project.

In the wake of the success of their joint work, Malenkov and Burunov came up with the idea of a solo program. As stated on the project’s website, “this is a new format, a mixture of stand-up, literary readings, theater and cinema, an interactive performance in which humorous monologues are interspersed with communication with the public and videos.”

After working at the Satire Theater, I gave up the stage for a long time. And he lived on camera for more than 10 years. I love that I'm back now. Seeing the eyes of the audience directly, and not just reading reviews of my work on the Internet, is such an invigorating stress. Instant feedback, lively energy of communication, improvisation - this is something you will never get while sitting in front of a screen,

- says Burunov.

He starred in several videos

Burunov’s last appearance in a music video today is his role in the video for the Bi-2 group “Philosopher’s Stone.” On his Instagram, the actor wrote about the group:

The other day I went to their live performance for the first time and was even more glad that I took part in this video. It’s interesting that the guys did not take the path of illustrating the words of the song, but created their own completely crazy world.

Burunov also has two videos of the Leningrad group with his participation - “Not Paris” and “Terrible Revenge”.

He appeared in the most resonant video about the elections

You probably remember this sensational video, but perhaps you forgot that Sergei Burunov also starred in it. We remind you: we are talking about a video released in February 2020 that went viral in a matter of hours. The video called on viewers to go to the presidential elections, and Burunov played the head of the family, who wakes up in the morning and discovers many changes around him: his son wears a pioneer uniform from the times of the USSR, a “gay foster child” lives at home, and they are trying to draft the hero himself into the army.

The video received mixed reactions: some rushed to accuse the creators of the video of homophobia, others attacked the actors (including Burunov) for “selling out to the Kremlin” and “participating in propaganda.” Some commentators even predicted Sergei’s career collapse after participating in a near-political project - but, as we see, the prophecies did not come true and the actor’s career is doing more than well.

Cinema

Sergei Burunov made his film debut in 2002, playing in an episode in the serial action film “Code of Honor”. Then he starred in the detective story “Moscow. Echelon"

One of the very first memorable works on the screen was the role of a political instructor in the military drama “Echelon” (2005).

Sergei says: “The series is about the Great Patriotic War, the action of the film takes place at the very end, in the train in which one of the battalions is transferred to Manchuria.

There are three main characters in the film: senior lieutenant Glushkov, lieutenant Startsev and captain Trushin, the battalion political officer, played by me. These are three friends who went through the entire war together. “Echelon” tells the story of friendship, love and the main human values.

So my hero, who appears in all eight episodes, at first impression is just an idiot, complex, evil, a terrible bore, a careerist, capable of betrayal. Everything in his life is calculated, no one loves him, he is a terribly lonely person. And in general, it is not clear what can connect this person with two normal young guys who live simply by hand, without thinking about any career, this especially applies to Glushkov.

When I was thinking about this role, I came to the idea that my hero has something of Shakespeare’s Iago. Drawing parallels with other characters, I compared Glushkov, whose role was played by the actor of the Russian Army Theater Andrei Egorov, for example, with Othello.”

The actor also took part in such popular TV series as: “My Fair Nanny”, “Women’s Stories”, “Who’s the Boss?”, “Trustline”, “Galina”, “I am a Bodyguard”, “Desantura”, “ Wild".

And in 2009-2010, the artist received the main roles in two films - “Reflections” (expert Eremin) and “No room for error” (Sobol).

Burunov is often asked: “Does he regret leaving aviation?” To which he honestly admits that there are moments. In 2010, Sergei starred in the military film “Heart of the Enemy,” where he played a German pilot: “This picture changed a lot in my life. The air battle was filmed on an airplane, in real aerobatics. The Yak-52 is my plane, on which I took tests at the second Moscow city flying club. And so they put me in it! The “orange” was taken away from me right away! Since then I started going to the airfield. I even thought: “Damn, maybe I should come back?”

The actor’s success was consolidated by his work in the series “A Short Course in a Happy Life,” where he played the role of the brutal policeman Timur Valeev. Then he could be found in the comedy “What Else Men Talk About,” and in 2012 he appeared in the role of a reserved FMS major in the popular TV series “Kitchen.”

Sergei Burunov also played Tom Taylor, a sailor of Her Majesty's Navy, in Sherlock Holmes, the rector in the youth film Only Girls in Sports, the father of one of the eleventh graders in the comedy Graduation, a psychologist in the mystical film Ghost, Boris Berezovsky in crime film “Unaccountable”, Sergei Shokhin in the drama “Duhless 2”, an official from the Presidential Administration in the comedy “Election Day 2”.

"Policeman from Rublyovka"

In 2020, the artist became a participant in another popular project. He got used to the role of Vladimir Sergeevich Yakovlev, a police lieutenant colonel, in the comedy-crime series “Policeman from Rublyovka.”

The film tells about the life of a young, cynical and gambling policeman - senior detective of the criminal investigation department in Barvikha, Grigory Izmailov (Alexander Petrov). Grisha makes no effort to work, has affairs and regularly mocks his own boss, Yakovlev. But the main difference between the policeman and his colleagues from other districts is that Izmailov investigates unusual cases and complaints of famous and simply rich people of the city.

In 2017, Sergei returned to his character in a sequel called “Policeman from Rublyovka in Beskudnikovo.” In the new season, the main characters receive a long-awaited promotion, but the joy is darkened by the fact that the police are transferred from Barvikha to poor and dangerous Beskudnikovo.

"Ivanovs-Ivanovs"

Burunov also received the main role - Anton Ivanov - in the family comedy “Ivanovs-Ivanovs”. The series is based on a true story. The heroes are two Russian Ivanov families. They do not know each other, they have different incomes and range of interests. Some are poor and provincial, others are more than wealthy and arrogant. They would be happy to live their lives without knowing anything about each other, but one fine day it turns out that many years ago the heirs of these families were mixed up in the maternity hospital, and all these years the son of the poor lived in a luxurious mansion, and the son of the rich Ivanovs huddled in a small apartment. apartment. Of course, now everyone wants their blood heirs back.

Sergei Burunov (rich Ivanov): “It is extremely important for my hero that he has all the best and most expensive. I would call it snobbery, since it does not accept people who do not have such income. It would seem that he has achieved everything he wanted, but he doesn’t know what to do with it. And I think he actually feels a deep sense of loneliness. However, the other Ivanovs, with their appearance, bring something completely different into his life - something that he so lacked. And if at first Anton perceives them as a natural disaster, then he realizes that he can no longer live without this family.”

"The Last Hero"

One of the actor’s recent works is Vodyanoy, the ruler of rivers, lakes and sea waters, in the fantasy comedy “The Last Hero.”

The heroes of the picture are characters from folk tales and epic heroes: Dobrynya Nikitich rules Belogorye, Baba Yaga flies in a mortar, Vodyanoy drinks the river. There is a frog princess, Miracle Yudo and a revived hut on chicken legs, but the story played out with their participation, which refers to ancient times, remains, nevertheless, modern.

Viewers of “The Last Hero” will have a chance to take a fresh look at characters they have known since childhood. And the plots of old fairy tales will receive an unexpected continuation.

Actor Sergei Burunov: the beginning of the journey

The performer of the role of political instructor Trushin was born in Moscow in 1977, and celebrates his birthday in March. The future actor Sergei Burunov was born into the family of a nurse and an electrical engineer; he has no famous relatives.

The boy did not immediately show interest in the acting profession. As a child, Sergei dreamed of becoming a pilot. His family lived near Domodedovo airport, so he constantly had to watch the flights of airliners. His father often took Sergei and his older brother Oleg to pilot demonstrations in Tushino. The boys admired the tricks of experienced pilots and dreamed of being in their place.

Personal life

Sergey Burunov is single. “Why am I not married? It’s a good question, I still can’t answer it for myself... I remember when the beautiful flight attendant offered me water, although my mouth was dry, I refused, I was so shy. And to this day I’m terrible at how shy I am with women. Sometimes they ask me: “How is this possible, you are an artist?” I answer: “What does this have to do with it? An artist is my profession, and no one knows about my inherent human qualities. Character roles are very difficult to play, it is, as they say, walking on a razor’s edge, a step to the left, a step to the right - and the parody will cease to be a parody. One careless move and you can slide into vulgarity. In our business, as my teachers said, there is such a concept - “a little bit”, which you must always feel, hold on to and under no circumstances go overboard. This skill is developed at the institute, skills, and professional activities.”

“You have to be absolutely selective, because the role you play is your face. The producer can remove his last name from the credits or change it. The director can say that the actor did not cope with the task, and thus deflect the criticism from himself. And there will remain an actor who has to answer to the audience. So I am completely for selectivity in choosing roles - this is the actor’s face, his profession, respect for himself and his work.”

“I don’t presume to judge, any choice is worthy of respect, but, it seems to me, negative characters are much more interesting to play, they are deeper, more ambiguous, in contrast to positive characters, with whom it is much easier. It is very interesting to “unearth” the nature of scoundrels, scoundrels, scoundrels, and even more interesting to find them in yourself. After all, every person has enough angels and demons! And exploring someone's character is fascinating and incredible. F.M. Dostoevsky wrote: “Am I a trembling creature or do I have the right...”, but to what extent do I have this right?

About comedy:

“Comedy is the most difficult genre. This is a synthesis of all genres, in principle. In drama everything is clear, in tragedy too. But in comedy, walking along the edge, maintaining the line and not falling into vulgarity is very difficult. Therefore, playing a comedy is, of course, interesting. And it's very difficult. That's what fascinates me about her. This is a very difficult path of exploration, life experience, exploration of oneself, because the nature of the comic is incredibly multifaceted, and it can take a lot of revenge if you don’t approach it seriously.”

About English actors:

“I focus on the English school. I really love English actors. It is fantastic. And I binge watch some things with the English. These are my teachers. Monty Python, my favorite Simon Peg. I recognized them after dubbing the movie “Hot Fuzz.” This is the bible of humor. Tim Roth, Ian McKellen. This is the cosmic level. This cannot be taught... Although, they are taught, but how to achieve this? That’s what we’re trying to do in Big Difference, at least I am.”

About popularity:

“In general, I am very wary of the term “star.” It seems to me that it doesn’t matter whether we will be some kind of stars or not. We must do our job well. Well, yes, God forbid, if we become famous. That's not what I care about. I care who I am. And what am I doing? And how I do it. Before yourself, so as not to be ashamed. “Big difference” is a big success for me. I didn’t place any bets on it, it gradually developed and together they collected this bit by bit. We did not immediately come to this, to these subtleties. There are thousands of actors, a lot of them, who are perhaps a hundred and twenty-five thousand times cooler than us, but they have not yet been lucky. Success is largely a matter of chance.”

About Me:

“Amenable. But he is quick-tempered, although I quickly move away and do not consider it shameful to be the first to ask for forgiveness. I’m not a neurasthenic, I’m a fairly balanced person, I’m quite capable of controlling my emotions.”

What kind of girls do you like:

“Not tall, of course, because I myself am not very tall. Brunettes, women of the oriental type, with a sporty figure, slender.”

What qualities does he value in people?

“A sense of humor is the most important thing. If there was an opportunity, I would teach it, create some special technique. I also value decency, goodwill, patience and, undoubtedly, intelligence.”

About leisure:

“I can’t deny myself the pleasure of flying piston light aircraft. In addition to flying, I really like to ride a motorcycle, to get away from the bustle of the city. Another component of my leisure time is the sofa (laughs). Sometimes you want to get some sleep and come to your senses, otherwise after a series of shifts the actor’s batteries run out. Well, from time to time you have to make a promenade to the doctors, undergo, so to speak, a technical examination, because an actor’s working hours are not standardized, sometimes you don’t understand what planet you are on (laughs).”

Blitz survey:

Favorite writer: Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. Favorite music - “Infected mushroom” - a duet from Israel, electronic music, Depeche Mode. From films I like “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “Gravity”, “Best Offer”, “Hot Fuzz”.

Personal life of Sergei Burunov

Sergei has never been married, and the actor has no children either.
The actor repeatedly admitted in interviews that he would like to have a strong family and many children, but fate decreed otherwise. He has not yet met true love, and it seems shameful to him to waste money on relationships “for show.” In his youth, Sergei, like most young people, was an amorous person, but over the years he curbed this feeling. He never starts affairs with colleagues on the set, because he understands that an actress can have a husband and children, but a family cannot be ruined. Burunov considers comedy the most complex genre, because it, in principle, represents a fusion of all genres. If in tragedy or drama, he believes, everything is clear, then in the comedy genre it is very difficult not to cross the line between humor and vulgarity. Such work requires a wealth of life experience and careful self-analysis with all the ensuing consequences.

If we talk about preferences in comedy, Burunov likes British humor with its harsh satire against anything. Sergei's favorite British comedians are the duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, especially the film Hot Fuzz.
