As the artist would later tell in one of his interviews, he did not expect the attack at all, otherwise he would have tried to stand up for himself. After he asked to clear the road, two furious Caucasians jumped out of the Opel. The very first and unexpected blow hit Sergei in the head. After that he fell. The man remembers in fragments that one of the Caucasians beat him severely, and the second just looked on.

- Low bow to them. I became popular thanks to “Secrets of the Investigation”. My parents love this series very much, they watch it non-stop. There is a popular expression: “No people are irreplaceable.” I don’t agree with this, everything is individual. And the one who came to my place is already different. And if the authors of the film want to preserve exactly the atmosphere of the successful series that we created, then they must save people. I know that Elena Topilskaya, who was the author of the script and wrote it based on her own experience as an investigator, is not currently involved in “Secrets of the Investigation.” Anna Kovalchuk stayed, but we practically don’t communicate with her, it’s impossible to reach her by phone, she doesn’t answer calls. Nowadays Sergei Baryshev is a popular actor, but 24 years ago he came from Saratov to conquer St. Petersburg. Born into a simple family: mother Lyudmila Konstantinovna and father Viktor Andreevich worked at a plant in Engels as plastic pressers and dreamed that their son would save people by doing a noble cause - medicine.

– I dreamed of being an actor since kindergarten. In 1989 I graduated from theater in Saratov. For some time he worked at the local drama theater, and then he realized that there was nowhere to grow here, and he left for St. Petersburg. On April 21, 2013, in broad daylight in the center of the capital, Sergei Baryshev was attacked by young Caucasians. The criminals have not yet received any punishment.

“I was on my way to a rehearsal, and the road was blocked by a fully tinted Opel, which resulted in a traffic jam; no one could get any further. At first I was sitting in the car and had no intention of participating in the disassembly. A woman approached the Opel and knocked on the window - no response. She asked me to come up to the car, I knocked, the side window was lowered a little, and I asked them to back it up. I headed back to my car, and suddenly there was a strong blow to the back of my head. I don't remember how I fell. There were two of them, persons of Caucasian nationality. One definitely hit me, the second I can’t remember. I didn’t expect the blow, otherwise I would have been able to stand up for myself; after all, I used to practice sambo. It turns out that you can’t turn your back on a certain category of people. Eyewitnesses called the police. We were all taken to the police station, but for some reason the attackers were immediately released, and no one began to interrogate the witnesses. Now these people remain at large, and eyewitnesses are already afraid to testify. Guys from some Russian national movement offered me help and assured me that they were ready to solve all the problems, but I refused. Thanks to them, of course, but everything must be according to the law. Not long ago there was a similar case with a State Duma deputy; he was also beaten in the center of Moscow due to a traffic dispute. There was an uproar and the suspects were immediately detained. The law enforcement system has shown that it is capable of working well. But this should not only happen in exceptional cases with deputies.

For more than a year now, the actor beloved by the audience has not been able to recover from the beating. He lost his job, the millions he could have earned, and suffered serious health problems.

– I had a severe concussion, hellish pain in my back, doctors recorded a fracture of the vertebra. Every 12 hours for 10 months I was injected with painkillers. Half a million rubles were spent on treatment. I believe that the costs should be compensated by those who attacked me. However, now, according to investigators, they are wanted. Recently the case was transferred to other investigators, and it got off the ground.

For 10 years now, the actor has been happily married to journalist Ekaterina Koresheva, who is 12 years younger than the star of the series. Sergey Baryshev recalls how their love story started:

– Katya came to St. Petersburg to interview me from Germany, she lived there and worked in a publishing house. The next day after our conversation, she called back and said that we would need to meet again, since her voice recorder was stolen... I proposed to her in Paris, where we went on vacation. The wedding took place in St. Petersburg, they got married in the Kazan Cathedral. Unfortunately, my colleagues from the series “Secrets of the Investigation” could not come to us due to a busy filming schedule. They barely let me go to my own wedding; I even had to reschedule the wedding date to accommodate work.

The lovers faced a very serious test of strength. The actor's wife was diagnosed with cancer.

– When we found out about this, we decided that Katya should receive treatment not in Russia, but in Germany. She had surgery. I had to work hard to pay for a treatment option that was not the cheapest. At first Katya said that it was better for us to get a divorce, saying that she didn’t want to ruin my life. But when we got married, we promised each other: “Both in sorrow and in joy.” And besides, I am monogamous. We endured everything together and I am very glad that she is in my life. As a result, they were able to defeat the cancer, and now she is regularly checked by doctors.

The star of the series “Secrets of the Investigation” is already 50 years old, but he does not have his own children.

– I consider Katya’s son Alexei my child. He is 17 years old and is finishing school in Germany. Lyosha calls me dad. He is dear to me, I try to help him in everything. We wanted Alexey to move to Russia, but he is not ready yet, because he grew up in Germany. The guy lives there with Katya's father and her sister. I don’t have my own children, or at least I don’t know about them (laughs). However, there are plans with Katya, I just need my body to recover after huge doses of painkillers. To be honest, I want a son, and whoever God will give. And it’s okay that it’s 50! It's never too late.

Ekaterina and Sergei got married in 2004; before that, they simply dated for several months. Of course, soon after this, the lovers started thinking about children. Catherine had to undergo a long course of treatment. Baryshev’s wife managed to get pregnant only in 2010. Unfortunately, the long-awaited pregnancy had to be terminated because the woman was diagnosed with cancer. For several months, Ekaterina was treated in Germany. All this time, Sergei did not leave his wife and provided her with moral support. Now the actor’s wife is already on the mend.

Baryshev is not one of those who like noisy companies. You can rarely meet him at social events or nightclubs. The actor likes to relax outside the city. Fishing and kayaking are activities that Sergey enjoys doing in the company of loved ones.
