Biography

Daniil Spivakovsky was born on the same day as the great Russian actor and theater teacher Mikhail Chekhov.
His family consists of grandparents and mother. My grandfather was a military pilot, and my mother, Alla Semyonovna, was engaged in science. Now she is a Doctor of Psychology, professor at Moscow State University, and a famous psychotherapist. The most serious attention was paid to Daniel's upbringing. At the age of 5, his mother first brought him to the children's play “Snow White” at the Sovremennik Theater and subsequently encouraged him to study at the theater studio of the Pioneer Palace on the Lenin Hills. It is to his mother that Daniil is grateful for his good upbringing: “She instilled in me good taste, a sense of proportion, which, in my opinion, is very important in a person’s life and even more so in the profession of an artist.” After school in 1986, Daniil applied to Moscow State University for the Faculty of Psychology, but did not get one point and went to work as an orderly in a psychiatric hospital. A year later he tried again and entered, but two months later he joined the army. He served in the signal corps for two years. Spivakovsky later spoke with gratitude about serving in the army: “I was taught how to shoot a weapon, as well as tactical fundamentals. Living in a men’s group for two years was a special situation, but it happened, and I don’t regret it. After all, I was raised by my mother, grandparents. Although I have never been a refined mama's boy, in my own way I am a spoiled person. And the army strengthened me a lot, I became stronger, more courageous, which now helps me in my profession.”

After serving, Spivakovsky was reinstated at the psychology department, but did not forget his love for the theater and enrolled in the Moscow State University Student Theater. “The professional actors who worked there once told me: “Listen, old man, have you ever thought about becoming an artist?” I replied that amateur activities are quite enough for me. But they still advised me to enter the acting department. Along with the guys who stormed theater universities year after year, I went to an audition. Since I didn’t care, I felt absolutely liberated, which the teachers liked,” says Spivakovsky.

So, by chance, the aspiring psychologist became a student at GITIS, but did not leave Moscow State University. Having received a duplicate certificate at school, he studied at two universities at once for four years.

He was lucky that GITIS and the psychology department of Moscow State University were not far from each other. “So I ran from Kislovsky Lane to Mokhovaya and back several times a day. Although it was hard, it was impossible to complain to theater teachers about fatigue and chronic lack of sleep,” recalls Daniil.

Childhood and adolescence

The future actor, Daniil Spivakovsky, was born at the end of the summer of 1969. Not everyone can immediately say how old Daniil Spivakovsky is. The fact is that the actor always looks very young, so it is difficult to judge his age. Today he is 48 years old. The artist’s homeland is Moscow. The child was raised by his grandmother, mother and grandfather. Daniel's mother is a psychotherapist and professor at one of the Moscow universities. It was she who was able to instill in her son a sense of taste and proportion, which is very important in his professional activities today.

From childhood, young Daniel grew up surrounded by care and attention. The family created all the conditions so that the boy could realize his potential. He was involved in several clubs, one of which was a theater studio, played football with friends and loved to read poetry. Mom supported her son’s passion for theater in every possible way.

Since childhood, Danil, like his mother, dreamed of becoming a psychologist. After graduating from school, he applied to Moscow State University, but failed the entrance exams. Desperate, he went to work in one of the psychiatric hospitals in his hometown. A year later, the young man tried to re-enter the psychology department and succeeded. However, during his second attempt, the university canceled benefits for full-time students, and he was soon drafted into the army.

Theater

During his student years, Daniil Spivakovsky was involved in several productions of the Theater. Mayakovsky. There he played Hamlet in the play “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”, Duremar in “The Adventures of Pinocchio” and Kuligin in the production of “The Thunderstorm”. Then, as a third-year student, Spivakovsky received the main role for the first time - it was work in the play “Farce for Adults,” based on the play by Nikolai Kolyada. This is how the actor met director Sergei Artsibashev, whom Spivakovsky considered his main teacher along with Andrei Aleksandrovich Goncharov. It was with Artsibashev that the actor played his best theatrical roles.

After graduating from GITIS, Spivakovsky was enrolled in the troupe of the Theater. V. Mayakovsky. The first performances immediately helped the actor gain recognition from the audience. At first he had the chance to play the Jester in the play “As You Like It” based on Shakespeare, Tishka in “Bankrupt”. Then the actor was involved in the productions “A Free Man Enters”, “Victim of the Century”, “Student Love”, “Theatrical Romance”, “Lizard”.

Real success came to Daniil after the role of Albert in Sergei Artsibashev’s play “The Banquet” based on the play by Neil Simon. Daniil immediately became popular in theater circles and gained fame as the best young actor in the capital. His Duremar in “The Golden Key” enjoyed no less success with young viewers.

Daniil Spivakovsky still plays in the famous Mayakovka. In the current repertoire he is engaged in the plays: “Talents and Admirers”, “Love through the Eyes of a Detective” and “Banquet”.

Daniil Spivakovsky first appeared on screen in 2000, playing a small role in the film “Maroseyka, 12.” This was followed by work in the TV series “Russian Amazons”, “The Thief”, “Two Fates”, “Why Do You Need an Alibi?”, “Instructor”. In one of his interviews, Spivakovsky said that after Artsibashev’s comedy “Adult Games,” where he played on the same stage with Olga Prokofieva and Igor Lifanov, a couple approached him, who, as it turned out, decided to get married that same evening after watching this performance. Well, after the premiere of this performance, critics wrote about Spivakovsky: “An easy-going, talented actor who knows how to portray a serious feeling with his timid intonations. Artsibashev’s hilariously comic discovery.”

Six months after they met, Daniil took Svetlana to the registry office.
