Actor Yan TsAPNIK: “I’m a late dad, that’s why I’m completely crazy”

Biography

Yan was born into the family of People's Artist of Russia Yuri Tsapnik and track and field athlete Valentina Tsapnik. He spent his childhood years in Chelyabinsk, where the family moved in 1970. “My mother, Valentina Nikolaevna, was seriously involved in athletics and trained on the national team together with Olympic champion Lyudmila Bragina. She ran medium distances - 800 meters, one and a half kilometers... But she sacrificed great sports in order to give birth to a normal, healthy person - me. And dad, Yuri Viktorovich Tsapnik, was an actor at the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater named after Orlov. Mom dreamed of me becoming an actor, and dad saw me as an athlete,” the actor recalls.

— I was tossed between sports and theatre. When I was little, I played with my dad. Then he played handball and studied in a sports class at an Olympic reserve school in Chelyabinsk. I also graduated from music school, studying violin. After graduating from high school, he entered the Sverdlovsk Theater Institute, and from there he joined the army. Having retired to the reserve, I was driving home through St. Petersburg and decided to get out there. That’s how I became a student at LGITMiK, although after the army I was actively called to join the riot police.”

In 1992 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Theater, Music and Cinematography named after Cherkasov (workshop of Professor Petrov).

Youth

Ian graduated from school in 1985. He planned to enter one of the theater universities in Moscow, but during handball training he received a serious injury and sunstroke, and missed the graduation ceremony and all entrance exams due to illness. The guy managed to submit documents only to the Sverdlovsk Theater Institute. After his first year, Yan Tsapnik, whose biography is rich in happy accidents, went on tour with the local theater as a stagehand. One of the troupe's artists fell ill, and Ian was invited to replace him in the performance. After his unexpected debut, the aspiring actor was noticed by director Mikhail Ershov and offered him a role in the melodrama “Looking for a Life Friend.” Filming took place in Leningrad.

Then Jan was drafted into the army. He served in the airborne troops, in the reconnaissance battalion. The future actor visited Afghanistan, Germany, and Poland. However, Tsapnik does not celebrate Airborne Forces Day. He believes that he is too old for events of this kind.

After demobilization in 1989, Jan Tsapnik went to Leningrad. At the Lenfilm building he met an old acquaintance who advised him to transfer from the Sverdlovsk university to the local theater institute. The future artist liked this idea. Yan received a diploma of higher education in the city on the Neva, after graduating from the Leningrad Academy of Theater, Music and Cinematography. N. Cherkasova.

Theater

At the age of 7, the young artist first appeared on stage. He played the son of the main character in the Chelyabinsk theater production of “We Can’t Change the Fatherland,” and also starred with his father in the leading role in the television play “Blue Puppy.” From 1992 to 2005, Yan Tsapnik served at the Academic Bolshoi Drama Theater. G.A.Tovstonogov.

Theater works at the BDT:

  • Victor (freelance artist) - “Family portrait with a stranger” (dir. A. Maksimov);
  • The Swiss - “Mother Courage” (dir. S. Yashin);
  • Koviel - “The Bourgeois in the Nobility” (dir. A. Petrov);
  • Temur - “Sunny Night” (dir. T. Chkheidze);
  • Dresser - “The Dresser” (dir. N. Pinigin);
  • Fleance (son of Banquo) - “Macbeth” (dir. T. Chkheidze).

Cinema

Yan Tsapnik made his debut on television in 1987 in Mikhail Ershov’s film “Looking for a Friend in Life.” This melodrama is based on the story by Mikhail Panin “Matyushenko promised to remain silent.” The story of lonely people who found themselves in human communication and family happiness.

Then the actor could be seen in such popular TV series as: “Streets of Broken Lanterns”, “Deadly Force”, “Gangster Petersburg”. "Brigade"

The artist gained fame in 2002 with the release of the crime series “Brigada”. He got the role of businessman Arthur Lapshin by accident. Ian recalls: “Once I went on business to Mosfilm, where the Brigade film crew was working.” Director Alexey Sidorov came up and said: “You will play businessman Arthur, a victim of assaults!” I was a little plump then and, apparently, fit well into the type.” The character of Arthur was practically not spelled out in the script. Entrusting this role to Yan Tsapnik, the director admitted: “Yan, I don’t know what to do with your hero. I can’t think of anything.” To which the actor reassured him: “Don’t worry. I came up with everything myself a long time ago. Just tell me what’s suitable and what’s not.” The result is an interesting, memorable and very controversial image. In Tsapnik’s own words: “On the one hand, there is a former Komsomol worker, a restless soul, a favorite of the company. On the other hand, he’s a rare beast.” Subsequently, the roles followed one after another. Very soon, Yan Tsapnik became a very popular actor. At the same time, the range of his roles is very wide - from a veterinarian to a special services major, from a journalist to a bandit and a swindler. Among his characters: investigator Alexey Korotkov in the series “Mongoose”, captain Tikhomirov in the military drama “Under a Shower of Bullets”, rabbi in the drama “Nowhere with Love, or Merry Funeral”, inventor Anatoly Smyslov in the comedy melodrama “Weekend Romance”, teacher Boris Izotov in “Ochkarik” and others.

"Witchcraft Love"

In the series “Witchcraft Love,” director Vladimir Balakshinov, as in the case of Arthur from “Brigade,” gave the artist freedom in shaping his character. This is how the charming veterinarian Venechka appeared before the audience, who almost immediately won the love of the general public.

Jan admits that he loves working in such conditions: “A good artist himself must bring eight bags of proposals, and the director must choose the most interesting from the proposals.”

"Heartbreakers"

Another bright character of the actor is Maxim Smirnov in the TV series “Heartbreakers”, a former employee of a large foreign company who was laid off, a responsible and hardworking person, but insecure. Needing money, he takes part in a scam.

Yan Tsapnik himself speaks about this role as follows: “My hero Maxim is one of the few characters in Heartbreakers who has a conscience. He falls into a scam with a fake family because, as he himself believes, he has no choice: if he does not agree to the role of John’s younger brother, he will lose his wife and daughter, whom he loves madly. These are the circumstances. In my opinion, he is one of the most unfunny characters in the series. His actions may cause laughter, but not himself. He doesn't like the idea of a gamble, at least not at the beginning of the series. He is very skeptical about all this. And I myself have a great attitude towards adventures in life. So Maxim is a resistance role, which is what I like.” Also noteworthy is the actor’s participation in the popular domestic comedy “Gorko!” and its sequel “Gorko 2”, the adventure series “Traffic Cops”, the sports drama “Sparta”, the comedy films “All About Men”, “The Groom”, “Classmates”, “Pushkin” and in the New Year’s “Yolki 1914” and “Shaggy Christmas Trees” "

During his career, Tsapnik has already starred in more than a hundred films and TV series. One of the most famous works of recent years is the bandit Kromulya in the comedy sitcom “Fizruk”. The film also stars Dmitry Nagiyev, Alexander Gordon, Anastasia Panina, Vladimir Sychev.

Yan Tsapnik in cinema

Ian managed to appear on the set for the first time back in 1989. He got a minor role in the short film “The Jubilant Beast.” Then he appeared in episodes of many popular TV series of those years (“Streets of Broken Lanterns” (1997), “Deadly Force” (2000), “Gangster Petersburg” (2001).

Young Ian Tsapnik

Ian considers his first serious work in the film industry to be the role of Arthur Lapshin (Arturchik) in the action-packed television series “Brigade” (2002). In general, he got into the cast of the series by chance. A friend from Mosfilm told him about the casting, but, as it turned out, all the key actors had already been found. Ian got angry and burst into the studio with the question: “Hello! Are artists needed? Normal, adequate, alive? He was entrusted with a cameo role with virtually no lines, but thanks to his talent for improvisation, his Arturchik turned out to be so memorable that many viewers fell in love with him more than Sergei Bezrukov’s Sasha. “Brigade”: Yan Tsapnik as Arturchik Viewers will remember the roles of Yan Tsapnik in the series “Mongoose” (operative Korotkov), Barabin – a director with a prison past (“Fighter”), journalist Nikiforov (“Gangster Petersburg”), Captain Tikhomirov (“Under a shower of bullets"), and even the cruel Fritz Wolf from the serial military drama "Sappers".

Even in the role of a fascist, Yan Tsapnik is charming

One of the actor’s most famous works is Venya from the TV series “Witchcraft Love.” As in the case of “Brigade,” the director gave Ian complete freedom of action. The resulting touching image of a provincial veterinarian captivated the hearts of thousands of women.

In "Witchcraft Love" Yan Tsapnik played the veterinarian Venya

The actor also excels in purely comedic roles, for example, Natasha’s strict stepfather (Yulia Alexandrova) in the comedy “Gorko” and its sequel “Gorko-2”, Alexander Arkadyevich from the New Year’s film “Yolki 1914”, Khromulya from the series “Fizruk” with Dmitry Nagiyev , the head of the Central Election Commission from the second part of “Election Day” - and this is not a complete list of comedies with the indescribable charm of Yan Tsapnik.

Personal life

In the media you can find information that the actor has three marriages behind him. In fact, he only married once. Although before that I had relationships with colleagues. “With actresses, these were novels. Yes, I never wanted an actress as my wife. My hobbies for these people did not end well. I'm married for the first time. And I’m sure it will last a lifetime,” notes Yang.

The artist found family happiness when he was already 30 years old. His wife Galina is an orientalist, originally from Kalmykia.

The actor tells how he met Galya: “It was like this. We hosted a symposium of gynecologists at the BDT. We performed a play for them, where I had the main role, and then went to a banquet, where I spoke in broken English with very pretty gynecologists from Japan. Then I wanted to continue the banquet, and I went to a nightclub, where I saw a “Japanese woman” who was even more beautiful than those from the symposium. I began to get acquainted with her in my specific English: I didn’t really learn the language at school, I was an athlete, but in the army we were trained to conduct interrogations in English. The girl kept up the conversation in English, and then it turned out that she had a rare Japanese name - Galya...

Galya turned out to be not only beautiful, but also smart: she is an orientalist and speaks Chinese and English. It amazed me then, and to this day I can’t imagine how this person can know several completely different languages. The theater watched our romance with interest: after all, I was the first guy in the village, I played a lot, and received six reprimands. Colleagues helped me look after me beautifully. I invited Galya to the performance, seated her in the front row, and persuaded the artists to bow not just to the audience, but to her, and bow low and low...

Less than three months later, on October 4, 1998, we got married. And in 2001, on May 16, at 16:10, our daughter Lisa was born. Need I say that I fell in love with her long before my first glance?! And when I saw it, I was completely stunned! For ten years now, I give her a bouquet every month on the 16th, and if we are in different countries, I order flowers to be delivered. In recent years, I have been filming a lot and, accordingly, I am rarely at home. It's a pity that I don't really see how she grows. On the other hand, if it grows before my eyes, it will mean that I am sitting at home without work, and this is not very good. I'm trying to find a middle ground...

My wife likes to say: “Nothing happens sooner or later, everything happens on time.” This is Chinese wisdom, but it is universal...

We also have a family tradition. Every year, around the twenty-fourth of December, I drop everything and the three of us fly to China. We relax, travel, swim. We return back around the fourteenth of January.”

Ian spoke about the details of his personal life in the program “The Fate of a Man with Boris Korchevnikov.”

Instructions for living with an actor

“You’re such a hooligan—you used to roll down the hill on a violin, or spit on the ceiling at the theater institute, or something else... But you got away with it all—why?” Thanks to talent?

- Well, relatively speaking, he gets away with it, and if he does, then the reason for all these actions is restlessness, dissatisfaction with what surrounds us, the desire to learn new and interesting things. That is, I want to not only see a pony, but also ride it, not only see the reef in Normandy from a painting by Claude Manet, but also climb on it. But - I want to say about my extravagances - there was never anything black in all my actions, and everything was always sweet and tasteful.

— You met your wife in a nightclub, at first you mistook her for a Japanese woman, had a conversation in English, and then, when you learned her “rare Japanese name - Galya,” there, in the noise of the club, you read Mandelstam to her. There is something mystical in the story of your acquaintance...

- And I think that the story is common for Galya and me, because we are both crazy. Is there another person who will live with me for 22 years? Hardly.

Yan Tsapnik with his wife Galya

— In your youth, you mastered the profession of a pastry chef. Have you prepared or are you preparing anything at home? Have you baked cakes for your daughter?

— Of course, because when the family was formed, basically only I knew how to cook. Now Galya is preparing something divine, but you can’t eat it either, especially a lot, because you immediately start to gain weight. In general, food is good when there is little of it... I have now lost 15 kilograms and am happy. I used to bake cakes, but I don’t bake them now. When? I am at home for several days at a time.

— For all your eccentricity, you give the impression of a very homely and family man...

“Sometimes I want some kind of dissonance - to jump from a bungee, to go somewhere so as not to see anyone and relax. The work is such that you suffer on the set, but you can restrain yourself, you won’t tell anyone off, and you’ll come home and throw out everything you have. Costs of the profession.

But Galya is smart, it’s not for nothing that she is a candidate of sciences and an orientalist. And my mother-in-law is a candidate of sciences, a historian. And daughter Lizochka is an educated child. They understand everything. They tolerate me and love me.

Yan Tsapnik with his wife and daughter

— There is a famous phrase by Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov that an actor’s life will be successful if his wife and her relatives are fans of his talent. Do you agree with this?

“I don’t formulate it that deeply.” You can’t always trust your family in this regard either. After all, when you treat a person well, you evaluate him positively, you don’t say: “I played poorly today,” but say: “Okay.”

My family provides the necessary “calm” for me. Given my idiotic hot temper, they have a very beneficial effect on me.

— Why are you “getting dusty”?

“I love that there is always order in the house, like in the army, and when I come home after a month and a half, and one light bulb on the ceiling is not on in the kitchen, I always have a question: “Why isn’t it on?!” They tell me: “What difference does it make: the main thing is, don’t worry! You’re tired... There are still eighteen light bulbs on in the kitchen.” But I don’t calm down: “Couldn’t it have been screwed in?” And they calmly answer me: “We didn’t notice.” I keep cursing. The family is silent. After some time, I realize that I’m talking nonsense, but I still ask: “Are there any spare light bulbs in the house? How is it not?! Why can’t you buy several at once? Okay, I’ll go and buy it myself tomorrow!”

All my squabbles are over everyday little things. There are no big occasions. In our conflicts, Galya, daughter and mother-in-law wisely remain silent, because they know that I will soon calm down, I will feel ashamed, and I will begin to apologize. Therefore, sometimes, in order to save the family, the wife, firstly, secondly, and thirdly, must be able to remain silent.

— Does your daughter also know how to approach you?

“I remember I was very worried when I turned forty, thinking about inevitable old age, and besides, my work wasn’t very good—a couple of projects didn’t work out.” Lisa was little, about eight or nine years old. She came running to me and said: “Now you are lying sad, because you think that you are old, but you are not old yet, you are forty years old. But in ten years you will also lie and think how good it was when you were only forty. We must live for today!” Smart girl, everything like her father and mother! (smiles)

She knows how to regret at the right time. She got this from her mother, because I only learned this 10-12 years ago, and before I was different. Sometimes I only wanted to see black or white. Previously, I would have criticized my colleagues’ performance or wouldn’t have gone at all; I would have said what I thought, but that’s not possible. And now: “Do you like to play yourself? Well, that means everything is fine!”

Lizochka teaches me to treat the world differently, because it has much more colors than we, wrapped and tired, see. My daughter still sees this, my wife and mother-in-law see it, although they are beyond childhood, and sometimes I blink and think that either everything is very bad or everything is very good - I don’t notice the nuances.

Interview

About working as a cook:

Before the theater institute, the actor managed to work as a pastry chef: “Remember, at schools there were training and production plants, abbreviated as UPK? I asked to go to the confectionery shop. My friend and I were entrusted with baking Fairy Tale cakes, which were decorated with butter bunnies and teddy bears. To make them harden faster, we placed the cakes on the windowsill. As luck would have it, a strong wind blew, and all this beauty was distorted. For my misconduct, I was transferred to a meat shop to cut up chickens. But here, too, I made a mistake: out of boredom, I cut out... snowflakes from chicken meat. Then I was sent to the vegetable shop, from which I was soon kicked out too - I put salads on plates with my hands.”

About the roles:

“Of course, I would like to be a tall, blond young man! But if there’s no laughter, thank God, I get character roles, I’m different on screen. Then the producers get carried away - they start entirely melodramas, such as “The Bespectacled Boy” and “Under the Sky of Verona”. There I am such a strange sad person, a philosopher. Then - boom! - something went military, and now I’m completely a fascist.

There are killers, womanizers, and brainless fools. After the film "Bitter!" I started playing former military men, someone’s dads. I don’t even think about Hamlet. Well, I’ll play the Prince of Denmark - and then what? Is the profession coming to an end? It seems to me that the phrase “I dream of playing Hamlet” smells like a grave. I want to play everything! And the skull of Yorick, and King Lear, and Boris Ivanovich, and the drunken veterinarian... Of course, I won’t refuse Hamlet on occasion, either, but I’ll spend my whole life pursuing one role... This is not about me. I am built differently: I am omnivorous, I am interested in everything. Renewal is life."

About parents

“My parents are smart, they always took everything with humor, and they raised me that way...

They have always been one for me. He called them by name - Yura and Valya. But, probably, I was closer to my dad, I went on tour with him, and played in the theater. At home we had complete democracy. But on the other hand, my mother strictly punished me for my misdeeds. Although I was not a problem child, I simply had no time to be mischievous.”

About family

“The family dictates certain conditions and lifestyle for us; without a family, we will consume too much, and it is unclear what to do at all. But the family somehow holds back. This is the place where you want to return. And when there is no family, then why live, why work?”

About Me

“I feel that I can do what I did as a twenty-year-old boy, but in a meaningful way: climb somewhere, go on a visit for the night. I don’t know, maybe this is not a second youth, but youth continues, it has become more conscious. Life is a ladder. And every day, every second, it’s either climbing up or sliding down.”

Interesting Facts

  • To film the TV series “Brigada,” the actor had to gain a lot of weight. It also happened later when working in the film “Bitter!”, for which he gained 15 kg. But for the series “Fighter,” Ian lost weight to 74 kg.
  • Yan Tsapnik flies airplanes and loves extreme sports. “At the helm, fly an airplane and a helicopter, jump with a parachute, dive with scuba gear. I have friends in Yegoryevsk and Voskresensk, and occasionally I go there to fly. This is all my army background, so it’s not scary at the helm,” says the artist.

Yan Tsapnik: Stupid people start affairs on set

Forced weight loss almost brought the artist to a hungry faint

In the coming year, viewers will see as many as eight new films with the participation of this 46-year-old actor. Yes, and last year, 2014, was a success for Yan TsAPNIK: several TV series and full-length films, and at the end - the multi-part series “The Outgoing Nature”, the comedies “Gorko!-2” and “Yolki 1914”. And it’s even scary to imagine that this talented person could not become an actor, but go... to the riot police.

— You are from the family of an actor. You probably aspired to this profession since childhood?

— I was tossed between sports and theatre. When I was little, I played with my dad. Then he played handball and studied in a sports class at an Olympic reserve school in Chelyabinsk. I also graduated from music school, studying violin. After graduating from high school, he entered the Sverdlovsk Theater Institute, and from there he joined the army. Having retired to the reserve, I was driving home through St. Petersburg and decided to get out there. That’s how I became a student at LGITMiK, although after the army I was actively called to join the riot police.

— Was the role of Arturchik, a victim of “attacks,” in “Brigade” significant?

— After the “Brigade” they began to recognize me on the streets. Both the brothers and the police came up. The actors received pennies, but they didn’t skimp on the rest: a powerful preparatory period, a lot of equipment and film, good cameras. Plus a wonderful cameraman Yuri Raisky and his team, an interesting script, a good director. There were also difficulties - as without them! For example, when we filmed summer in winter, we heated the room with lighting fixtures to prevent steam from coming out of our mouths. But when you watch the film, you don’t even know about it.

YAN TSAPNIK. Photo: "BAZELEVS"

- And now, after “Fizruk”, they don’t call Khromulya?
- Happens! (Smiles.) It was a pleasure to work and meet with classmate Dima Nagiyev . Usually there is no time for this. And then we talked a little.

— During your student years, was it clear that Nagiyev would become a star?

- Absolutely not. Yes, we didn’t even think about it. We were just enjoying life. We met with girls and did different productions. True, then it was also fashionable to chase boys, but this cup passed us by. In his second year, Nagiyev already had a family, a son. He lived in an apartment, and I lived in a dorm, so I can’t say that we were close friends.

— Haven’t you read Alice Sher’s book “I Was the Wife of Dmitry Nagiyev”?

- Are you serious? I don’t have time for other books, and I rarely watch movies. Sometimes, of course, it’s interesting to read something. I Eduard Kochergin store for this case. I also love Mikhail Trofimenko . But Alisa Sher , with all due respect to her and her work, somehow I don’t particularly... In general, I prefer complete immersion in the role, so if, for example, I play a doctor, then I read literature about diffuse dilation of the stomach.

— Are you ready to lose weight or gain weight for the role?

— I did this several times. And both plus and minus - no problem. For the series “Fighter” I lost weight to 74 kg, but in “Brigade”, on the contrary, I gained a lot of weight. And for “Bitter!” I had to gain 15 kg. How to gain weight is clear, but the best diet is not to eat at all. But then you can’t do without spots before your eyes. I remember I had such an episode - I could barely stand on stage. I drank only water and only an apple for food. I wanted to eat wildly, but I can’t... Who can argue that the diet should be correct, but if you need to lose weight in a short time... My advice to those who want to get rid of excess and keep in shape: give up sour cream, milk, mayonnaise, cottage cheese, fatty cheeses , sugar, white bread. Everything else - in small portions, including potatoes, meat, porridge.

Fake Japanese

— I heard that you had two marriages with actresses, but you found your happiness only on the third try.

— With actresses, these were novels. Yes, I never wanted an actress as my wife. My hobbies for these people did not end well. I'm married for the first time. And I am sure that this will last a lifetime. Galina and I have been together for 15 years. We met when we had a gynecologist seminar in the theater. When I first saw her, I decided that Galya was Japanese. And I spent half the evening talking to her in English. But it turned out that she was Kalmyk. And a great specialist in Chinese.

- Love at first sight?
- Yes. Love jumped out from around the corner and pierced us both. On the very first day I realized that she was my destiny and proposed. Three months later we got married. And two years later our daughter Lisa was born. She is now 13 years old. She is very smart, an excellent student, knows French and English well. He will probably also be a linguist, like his mother.

— 15 years of marriage is already a long time! Especially for an actor. On the set sometimes such passions rage...

- In my opinion, all these affairs are due to disorganization, corruption, promiscuity and carelessness. Novels on the set are carried out by stupid people. I fall in love with my partners and adore them immensely until the moment they command: “Stop! Cut!” The meeting with Galya drew a certain line in my life and divided it into two parts, putting an end to all my confusion and running around. I just realized that I would live differently now.

- And what is the secret of your family happiness?

- We are never bored with each other!

Miracle cake

— Do you perform stunt tricks yourself?

- I have to. Sometimes you come to filming and need a fight in the frame, but we didn’t have a horse lying around, a stuntman from nowhere or nowhere. And you decide to do it yourself, but only in the way you set it yourself. Somersaults, jumps from the fifth floor - please keep them for yourself. And what’s simpler... I was on fire and fell from the third floor - and not a scratch, since there were very trained people around. But recently an unpleasant moment happened while filming in Belarus. I forgot that there was a hammock with sharp edges behind me, and with the artist in my arms on a narrow path (they were also pouring water on my face from a special installation), I tripped. I tied myself to this hammock with my foot with a girl in my arms, and it burst. Although the actress, fortunately, was not injured. Who is to blame in this story? I! Since I didn’t check everything, I relaxed. I'm an idiot! Then I was able to finish the scene, but by the end of filming I felt really bad... They performed an operation, and at nine in the morning I was already on set, without breaking anything. I'm fine now, just limping a little.

With Dmitry MARYANOV in the crime drama “Fathers”

- Well, you are an extreme sportsman!
- You are right - I really like extreme sports. Fly at the helm of an airplane and helicopter, jump with a parachute, and scuba dive. I have friends in Yegoryevsk and Voskresensk, and occasionally I go there to fly. This is all my army background, so it’s not scary at the helm.

— Do you like to drive cars?

— I have a license, but I don’t drive a car, since I live in the center of St. Petersburg. Why do I need a car if I can’t get into the parking lot? Moscow generally needs inflatable cars. So that you can put it in your pocket and go ahead. I don’t care what I drive – a car, a tank, an armored personnel carrier. I can take the metro too. Of course, people find out and ask for an autograph. But it's even nice.

— Is it true that you cook well?

“I managed to work as a pastry chef, and they gave me the third category.” It was in Chelyabinsk. By the way, I also worked at a garment factory for the deaf and dumb! This is a very good acting experience for me. I cook at home when I have time. I can do pilaf and pies. But my wife is a wonderful cook. Want an easy cake recipe? Take five whites (discard the yolks), beat with a whisk, add sugar - you get an amazing foamy cream. After this, take the parchment, put it in a frying pan, grease it with oil. We cut fruits (kiwi, bananas, tangerines, apples, pears), place them on parchment, and pour foam on top. Place in the oven for 30 minutes - you will get a luxurious meringue from Yan Tsapnik !

Movies

Tsapnik’s film debut was successful, which inspired the actor. Ian's popularity grew with each role. Soon, such series as “Streets of Broken Lights” and “Deadly Force” appeared in the artist’s arsenal. But absolute fame came to Yan after “The Brigade” and the role of businessman Lapshin.

Since then, the actor has had to play a wide variety of roles: investigator, career military man, journalist, rabbi and inventor.
Every image of the actor hit the mark. Therefore, director Vladimir Balkashinov, inviting Yan Tsapnik to play the role, completely entrusted the work on the character to the actor himself and was not mistaken. Every work of Ian is a discovery, a vivid embodiment on the screen. Tsapnik is invited to voice over many animated films. The actor succeeds and does it with great pleasure. Jan says that working for children is happiness. The actor translates documentaries and foreign films. And for 13 years, viewers of Leningrad Television have seen Yan Tsapnik as a TV presenter in the “Tale after Tale” program.

The usual talented actor Yan Tsapnik unexpectedly plunged into politics. Ukraine's Department of Internal Security banned him from entering the country for a period of time. The film “War Correspondent”, in which Ian played the role of one of the militias, was to blame. This circumstance does not make the actor worry, although it is unpleasant to think about.
