How did you get into creativity?

Even in his high school years, Danil tried to compose songs. In those years, schoolchildren were fond of hip-hop and rap, and for some reason Prytkov was attracted to pop music. The music absorbed the guy more and more. Danil started writing songs seriously when he bought himself a microphone with the funds he had saved. It was the delight and joy of his first performances with a microphone that forced the guy to abandon his education and devote his life to musical creativity.

First attempts at creativity, student life, leaving university

“Oh, the first songs at that age, like all schoolboys, were either rap, or hip-hop, or I was trying to “squeeze” out of myself something similar to pop,” - this is how Niletto answered the question, when asked about his earliest attempts at creativity. In the same interview, Danil refused to voice the names of his first creations or read out anything from his early ones: “It wasn’t so good that it makes sense to remember it now. Some sketches, I’ll call it: I turned them on when I was hanging out with friends.” He also added: “There’s no other word for it, but my friends liked it! “All sorts of words that only we used among ourselves and understood were especially good.” But he continued to write these “sketches” and “pampering”, and at the same time tried to perform other people’s hits: at that time the word “covers” had not yet come into widespread use - but this is exactly what the high school student did.

After graduating from high school, Danil Prytkov entered the Yekaterinburg Forestry Engineering University (now called USFTU). The young man chose a rather complex faculty - engineering and environmental science: “We only had more than a dozen different areas of chemistry!” – that’s what he said in an interview. And he continued to compose songs, at the same time making covers of famous hits, and music, according to him, pulled him more and more towards it. “I started composing seriously when I bought myself my first microphone, it was (I can’t remember exactly now) either at the end of my second year, or in my third,” from his memoirs. It was precisely the purchase of a microphone and the appearance of professional recordings that pushed the young man to the decisive step - to choose between study and creativity.

He left the university in his third year with the firm intention of devoting himself to musical creativity - even if it sounds banal, but the fact is a fact: Danil suddenly realized that studying at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering would not give him his favorite specialty, and then pleasure from work. But this does not mean at all that the young man took up parasitism, sometimes lazily writing music at home in the expectation that a venerable producer would fall from the sky on him with entreaties to work for him! According to the singer, during that period he created not one, not two, not even three dozen songs - about a hundred different versions, in sketches and finished. And he was not lazy at work at that time: for example, while still a student, the young man taught dancing, and even on his social networks you can find reviews of those who went to dances with him.

“I tried to earn extra money in the musical field, I was very good at advertising: I wrote both music and lyrics, mixed everything, completed it to the final version. My advertising songs, for example, were played in retail stores for a very long time,” his words from a recent interview. Friends and acquaintances even began to recognize him from these advertising compositions that sounded in Greenwich: “Maybe they are still playing mine there, you should come in and listen, pay attention,” Danil said this just recently with a smile. But this was a one-time job, not regular, and he had to support himself somehow: from the artist’s stories it is clear that he never tried to sit on his parents’ necks; on the contrary, he has since then strived for financial independence. “I worked on construction sites: I can, for example, make a professional suspended ceiling, or perform plasterboard work at a good level,” he says this now quite seriously, and then adds with a laugh: “Well, if you need dismantling, call me!” We’ll come with a couple of friends and quickly dismantle it to smithereens!”

A serious bet on music entailed consequences that were not very pleasant at first: he worked, yes, but sometimes the money ran out, and his parents and relatives asked him: “When will you start doing something serious, will you earn a stable income?” By serious work, dad and mom, according to Danil, meant an office, a “five in two” schedule, and a salary on a fixed day. But he didn’t want to go to a permanent and obviously hated job - his soul (it may sound trite, but it’s true!) demanded art! “I could have easily found a job with a stable income, but I didn’t do it - I didn’t want to kill my desire for creativity.
