Boris Khimichev: filmography and details of the actor’s personal life

Childhood and youth

The future actor Boris Petrovich Khimichev was born in the village of Balamutovka, in Ukraine, on January 12, 1933. Khimichev grew up as a sickly child, easily contracted childhood illnesses and often lay in bed with a fever. Therefore, at the age of 10, the boy decided to toughen up. Dumbbells, gymnastics and cold water became Boris Khimichev’s constant companions for many years. It was difficult to recognize a frail boy in the fit, slender young man who entered Kiev University a few years later.

Boris chose a mathematical specialty, but after a couple of years he realized that this field was not interesting to him. Khimichev, being a determined person, is not afraid to leave his studies and go towards his dream. In 1960, Boris Khimichev moved to Moscow and submitted documents for admission to several theater schools in the capital.

The future star was lucky right away: Khimichev was accepted into the Moscow Art Theater. Pavel Masalsky's course, which Boris took, was considered strong and promising. Khimichev would later recall that he was very different from other students: age and poverty made Boris self-conscious about his appearance. The young man often became isolated in his thoughts and had little contact with his classmates. However, even this did not prevent the purposeful Khimichev from developing his natural acting talent.

last years of life

Boris Petrovich Khimichev was married five times. The actor lived with his last wife, Galina Sizova, for 15 years. In his interviews, Boris Petrovich has repeatedly stated that he is grateful to fate for such a woman.

In the last years of his life, Khimichev looked wonderful - fit, slender, without fat folds. The actor claimed that he had forgotten about his illnesses. How did he manage to do this? It's simple. In the morning, Boris Petrovich worked out with dumbbells and did not have breakfast. Then a hearty lunch and a light dinner. Over the last 30 years of his life, Khimichev fasted twice a year (he drank only water). The first 2-3 week fast began just before Lent.

The actor died in Moscow in 2014. The cause of death was inoperable brain cancer. Boris Petrovich was 81 years old.

Movies

In 1964, Khimichev graduated from the Moscow Art Theater and entered the service at the Mayakovsky Theater. At the same time, the aspiring actor goes to film auditions, and soon Boris is invited to the first filming. Khimichev’s debut role was Lieutenant Artamonov in the detective film “Operation Trust”. Perhaps for this reason, the detective role will be assigned to the actor for a long time: Boris will often be invited to such films, which he will sometimes complain about in later interviews.

Be that as it may, the young actor was noticed: at that time, three or four films with Khimichev’s participation were released annually. Boris began to be recognized, and the first admirers and admirers appeared. The actor’s bright and charismatic appearance played into his hands: directors loved to give Khimichev extraordinary characters.

It is worth noting that Khimichev coped with both positive roles and the characters of scoundrels and villains. The actor himself singled out the films “Prince Yuri Dolgoruky” and “Fathers and Sons”, believing that in these films he was most fully able to reveal himself as a dramatic actor.

Films 1967-1982

Boris Khimichev, whose cause of death is listed below, made his film debut in the film “Operation Trust”. The actor brilliantly played Lieutenant Artamonov. Subsequently, he was repeatedly invited to detective films, where Boris usually played negative characters (“Black Triangle”, “Detective”, etc.). But Khimichev was best in “costume” roles. It was all due to the natural texture of the actor. Stalin's jackets, Onegin's tailcoats, hussar's mentiks, and chain mail suited Boris like a glove. Khimichev also looked good on a horse. The actor himself explains this by genes: his father served in the cavalry.

Boris's career took off: he starred in at least three films a year. True, the quality of the roles was not very high. The same Doronina starred in a dozen films, half of which were masterpieces. Khimichev, of all his roles, could not name such a top five. This made him very sad.

Personal life

The personal life of Boris Khimichev turned out to be rich in marriages. Boris admitted to reporters:

“I have never been a womanizer - my patriarchal village upbringing was too strong in me: if you get close to a woman, get married. By the way, all my many marriages are due to a serious approach. For me, meeting a woman in general has been a problem for a long time.”

Boris Khimichev’s wives differed from each other in character and type of activity, but the common feature of the actor’s marriages was love for his chosen ones. Boris's first lover, Tatyana Lavrova, was also an actress. Unfortunately, despite their common interests, the spouses were unable to save their marriage.

The actor’s next romance turned out to be more durable: actress Tatyana Doronina seriously captured Khimichev’s heart. Boris and Tatyana got married in 1973. This marriage became a union of mature people in love with each other and with art. The couple often played in the same plays and even starred in the same films.

The problem was that both Doronina and Khimichev, being creative people, were emotional about everything. Any little thing turned into a serious clash between two strong characters. The couple often argued, and one day they realized the need for divorce. In 1982, Khimichev separated from his second wife, but until his last days Boris will remember this marriage with warmth and tenderness.

The two subsequent wives of Boris Khimichev could not keep the actor even for a short time. The third marriage lasted two weeks, and the fourth - a year and a half. Both chosen ones were much younger than the actor, and Boris was unable to build real family relationships with both of them.

Khimichev’s fifth and last marriage turned out to be happy. Galina Sizova was able to give the actor the family warmth, love and respect that Boris was looking for in a relationship. In an interview, Khimichev admitted:

“I am grateful to fate for sending me such a woman. Galina gave me something I didn’t have before.”

In addition to family warmth, his marriage to Galina gave the actor, who had no children, a daughter, Elena. Lena, Galina’s daughter from a previous marriage, became Boris’s family.

Born 01/12/1938, Balamutovka village, Khmelnitsky region, Ukraine

Childhood

Boris Khimichev was born in Ukraine - in the village of Balamutovka, Khmelnitsky region. Now looking at the slender, fit seventy-year-old actor, it is difficult to believe that in childhood he was a sickly, frail child. According to him, there was not a single childhood disease that he did not suffer from.

At the age of ten, young Borya began doing gymnastics. The dumbbells helped the boy get stronger. Then, while already studying at the university, Boris took up winter swimming... As Boris Petrovich says, today he has absolutely no idea what diseases are. But we will return to this later...

Studies

After graduating from school, Boris entered the mathematics department of Kyiv University. After studying there for several years, Khimichev decided to radically change his life - try himself as an actor.

Arriving in Moscow in 1960, he applied to several theater schools at once. As a result, he entered the Moscow Art Theater School on the course of Pavel Masalsky.

Boris Petrovich recalls: “Pavel Massalsky’s class was one of the strongest. The year I entered, Vysotsky graduated from it (he often came to the school to see his friend Seva Abdulov, our fellow student). And four years earlier, in 1956, Doronina left this workshop. She shone already at school, and Massalsky often spoke about her - he set us, the careless ones, as an example.” Perhaps even then the young Khimichev had an interest in this talented actress...

First love

Speaking about the personal life of Boris Khimichev, the actor’s numerous marriages are noted. He himself says that: “I have never been a womanizer - the patriarchal village upbringing was too strong in me: if you get close to a woman, get married. By the way, all my numerous marriages are due to a serious approach. For me, meeting a woman in general has been a problem for a long time.”

The first object of his adoration was the young, lovely actress Tatyana Lavrova. Seeing her in the role of Nina Zarechnaya, he simply lost his head. Without hesitation, Boris Khimichev wrote her a letter declaring his love, which he was even embarrassed to sign.

Soon fate smiled on Khimichev - they met. He recalls: “... our relationship even promised to develop into a beautiful romance. She immediately figured me out - showed me the letter: admit it, it was you who wrote it! Where could he go? He confessed, of course. And soon it was all over for us. I went out onto the training stage, looked into the hall, and there was Lavrova: sitting among the teachers and looking at me with great curiosity... I don’t remember how I played then, but I tried my best. After the show, for some reason she didn’t come up to me. I flew to her house; No one opened the door for a long time, finally my mother came out: “Tanya asked me to tell you that you no longer exist for her...” Much later, when I had already become a real artist, Lavrova and I met by chance and started talking. I couldn’t resist asking why she left me so quickly then. “Sorry,” he says, “but you seemed so mediocre to me on stage...”

Mayakovsky Theater. First marriage

After graduating from the Moscow Art Theater School in 1964, Boris Khimichev entered the Mayakovsky Theater.

He says: “Then his first “corner” appeared in Moscow - a utility room at the top of the theater: not very comfortable, but close to work. This was very relaxing, and one day I almost overslept my entrance in Hamlet: while putting on Horatio’s costume, I flew onto the stage half-dressed - I almost ruined the performance.

Over time, he settled down. The caretaker gave me old theater scenes, I upholstered the walls with them, put together prop furniture, and the apartment took on a completely bohemian look. In such an interior, with a huge “royal” bed, even a girl could be invited. The first “attic” romance ended in marriage. My passion taught mathematics at school; there were almost no common interests. The relationship very soon became a burden for both of them and ended after two or three months.”

Meeting with Doronina

As already mentioned, Boris Khimichev first heard about Tatyana Doronina back at the Moscow Art Theater School. And he met her when Doronina had already become a movie star - she had roles in the films “The Big Sister” and “Three Poplars on Plyushchikha.” Khimichev had only a few roles in the theater, and he was just starting to act in films.

Boris Petrovich recalls: “...and suddenly I received an offer to audition for the film “Once More About Love.” For the main role, which Lazarev eventually played. I arrive at Mosfilm, they take me to the dressing room - before the clear eyes of Tatyana Vasilievna... And with such a look she measured me from head to toe! - condescendingly, casually, mentoringly, appraisingly... I left the dressing room with burning cheeks and said to myself: “Tell madam that not only will I play with her, but I won’t even audition for this role...” Although even then I really liked her, and I really wanted to act in films.”

Khimichev and Doronina met again at the Mayakovsky Theater. In 1967, the director of the theater, Nikolai Pavlovich Okhlopkov, died, and Andrei Goncharov headed the troupe. He greatly updated the team: Dzhigarkhanyan, Leonov, Gundareva, Doronina came. Khimichev left the theater for a short time at that time - he went to work at the Theater of the Soviet Army. But soon, at the invitation of the new chief director, he returned.

Boris Khimichev: “At the Mayakovsky Theater, Doronina and I found ourselves in the same position. Her arrival was clearly not needed by anyone except the director, because competing with Tatyana Vasilievna in the repertoire was a hopeless matter. And no one really longed for my return. Therefore, we were not part of any of the numerous intra-theater groups, and this involuntarily brought us closer together. In addition, fate tried to bring us together by making us lovers in the play “Long Live the Queen. Vivat! True, during the play we didn’t have any “bed” scenes - I only kissed the queen’s hand, getting down on one knee. But, I’ll tell you, I did it passionately and with pleasure. A real romance developed inevitably and rapidly: I knew that Doronina was free after her divorce from Radzinsky, nothing was stopping me either...”

In 1973, Khimichev and Doronina formalized their marital relationship. By that time, they were both already under forty, and had experience of married life. The wedding was played modestly...

Movie. 1967-1982

Boris Khimichev made his film debut with the role of Lieutenant Artamonov in the detective story “Operation Trust”. And later he repeatedly starred in detective films, usually playing negative roles - “Detective”, “Black Triangle”. But still, more often than not, directors invited the actor to play “costume” roles.

Boris Khimichev says: “Because of my natural texture, I was immediately predicted to play “costume” roles: chain mail, hussar mentiks, Onegin’s tailcoats and Stalin’s jackets fit me like a glove. I also looked good on a horse - but it’s more likely due to genes: my father served in the cavalry troops.

When I started acting, I did well: I made three films a year. Another conversation is the quality of the roles. Doronina has only a dozen films, but five of them are masterpieces. But out of my 90 roles, it’s hard for me to name such five. It’s a pity that the only film we shared with Doronina, “On Clear Fire,” filmed during our years together, went unnoticed. But the picture was not bad, Doronina sang Okudzhava’s songs in it...”

1982

Khimichev and Doronina had common interests - their work. In the theater they played together in three performances. Often at home in the morning over breakfast they discussed a new production. On the way to the theater in the car they could talk about the roles that Tatyana or Boris were offered in the movies. And yet, over time, tension in their relationship grew. The reason was that both of them were temperamental, hot-tempered, restive people. All this accumulated for a long time, until finally they both realized that it was time to separate. They divorced in 1982.

Later, talking about her ex-husbands, Doronina put everyone in their place: Basilashvili is the most intelligent, Radzinsky is still close and dear, and Khimichev is the most gentle, attentive and “economical”.

Boris Khimichev about family life with Tatyana Doronina: “Despite everything, I don’t regret anything and I consider the time spent with her wonderful - fate gave me communication with an extraordinary person, an intelligent and talented woman for a whole decade. We really were very different people: her favorite color was white, mine was black, she was cold and rational, I was explosive and hot. When she married me, she was clearly doing the opposite: after Radzinsky, refined and cutesy, she chose me, rude and harsh.”

In the same year, 1982, Boris Khimichev left the Theater. Mayakovsky and went to the Mossovet Theater. According to him, leaving was difficult and brought a lot of anxiety...

Movie. 80's - 90's

In films, directors gladly used the actor’s textured appearance. Moreover, he played both negative roles (a corrupt general in law enforcement in the series “Hunting Season”) and positive ones with equal success.

The actor himself highlights among his works roles in the films: “Prince Yuri Dolgoruky” (Yuri Dolgoruky), “Fathers and Sons” (hereditary nobleman Pavel Petrovich Kirsanov) and “The Desire of Love” (Sergei Grigorievich).

Boris Petrovich is especially glad that Yuri Dolgoruky played the role in his life. He is rightfully proud of this work. And the words that his hero says in the film: “Brothers, come to me in Moscow to think about your thoughts. It’s enough to flood our land with blood. It’s time to build cities throughout Rus' for our Fatherland” can still be considered relevant today.

About the actor's life today

Having been married five times, Boris Petrovich is in no hurry to formalize his relationship again. For 15 years now he has been living in an official marriage with Galina Vasilievna Sizova. “I am grateful to fate for sending me such a woman. Galina gave me something I didn’t have before,” says the actor.

At his age, Boris Petrovich looks simply wonderful - slim, fit, not a single fold of fat. According to the actor, he has absolutely no idea what diseases are. What is success? It's very simple, he explains. In the morning - exercises with dumbbells, no breakfast. Dinner. Light dinner. Twice a year, for more than 30 years, he has been doing therapeutic fasting (drinking nothing but water during this time). Moreover, he spends his first fast lasting 2-3 weeks before Lent. After which he carefully performs the fast.

Boris Petrovich is also involved in social work - he is the co-chairman of the party of pensioners.
